COSMIC WEATHER:

“To climb steep hills requires slow pace at first.” William Shakespeare

We are looking at, essentially, two days rolled into one today, as we have the slower-paced, void-of-course “money-hungry” Taurus Moon, in the morning, and then the faster-paced, Gemini Moon in the afternoon (1:09 pm EDT). It probably serves us well to sort of chill out during the a.m. hours (attend to mainly routine matters), and then crank things up a bit later, when the Moon enters nervous, restless Gemini, the sign of communication and travel.

Too, one “cosmic weather advisory” here: When the Moon first prances into fast-talker Gemini, it immediately forms a hippie square to psychedelic Neptune (2:30 pm EDT), holed up in “why can’t we all just get along” Pisces. On the plus side, the Moon-Neptune square can fill us with inspiration and imagination, and maybe compassion (is also an excellent time for meditation and prayer). But, on the shadow side, it can also bring about some weird stuff, too, such as crackpot visions, delusions of grandeur, massive denial, con-men entering into our orbit, etc. In general, a very good chance for temporary “mass confusion,” including massive difficulty in correctly picking the winning lotto numbers for tonight’s drawing. πŸ™‚

However, the Neptunian veil does eventually lift and the stage is then set for some really cool scenarios to occur with the Moon’s sextile to progressive, “electrifying” Uranus in “race car” Aries (6:49 pm EDT), when we may be emotionally stimulated to the max and thrilled by the sudden (Uranus) turn of events. It is also a great time to take unique action that defines us and sets us apart as an individual (Uranus). Uranus governs our “urge for individuality.” Also, our “urge for personal freedom.”

BTW, President Barack Obama (a Leo Sun) has his natal Mercury at 2 degrees of Leo (Mercury rules the mind and decisions) and his natal Moon at 3 degrees of Gemini, just like the Moon today (Moon rules moods and public image), so “liberating” Uranus in militaristic Aries is exactly harmoniously trining his Mercury now, and also favorably sextiling his Moon. “Mercury-Uranus” often inclines us to make decisions that are perhaps bolder and, more controversial or rebellious in nature (Uranus), that may also break with tradition (Uranus), or are unprecedented. Uranus can also endow us with brilliant insights, when paired with “thinker” Mercury, as Uranus is the planet that is linked with genius, innovation, and scientific discovery. Uranus is also the “higher octave” of Mercury, and also governs flashes of intuition.

President Obama’s bold decision (Mercury), reportedly made last Friday, to raid Osama Bin Laden‘s compound (combative Aries action), was a sudden “game-changer” and “defining moment” (Uranus) for his presidency, and for the overall, general perception (Moon-Uranus) of his presidency. Too, that is how unpredictable Uranus tends to operate, when its ray is stoked. It strikes with a characteristic swiftness, and its impact can then often change the trajectory of future events forever. It has been symbolically likened to a “bolt of lightning” coming out of the blue.

Obama also simultaneously has transiting Pluto, symbolizing rebirth, trining his natal Pluto now, another long-term aspect which can also mark a time of major transformation. Also that same aspect can be a “test of one’s power” (Pluto), a test of how one wields influence and control (Pluto) in the world. Pluto also governs and depicts the masses, and events that impact the mass population. Of course, he also made his decision when the Sun was exactly trine Pluto, in the sky, on Friday, and Mars was conjunct Jupiter in Aries, an aspect of adventure.

Also, as I am writing this, a “New York Times/CBS News” poll has just been released showing a big rise in Obama’s poll numbers, among both Republicans and Independents, in wake of the killing of Osama Bin Laden. According to the poll, 57% approve of his job performance, compared to 46% last month. Although, 6 in 10 Americans polled felt that bin Laden’s death was likely to increase the threat of terrorism against the U.S. in the short-term. Let’s pray the latter, is not the case.

Famous Taurus Birthdays May 4: Randy Travis (52), late Audrey Hepburn (82)

Enjoy your day! Dare to be different (Moon-Uranus)! But, do be careful about imbibing too much of the Kool-Aid (Moon-Neptune) around mid-day. πŸ™‚

Astrology May 3, 2011: “Money Matters” New Moon in Taurus

COSMIC WEATHER:

“If you want to feel rich, just count the things in life that money can’t buy.” Proverb Quote

The positioning of the New Moon (new beginning) in slower, steady Taurus today at 13 degrees of the sign (2:51 am EDT), coming as it does amid the stellium of five planets still remaining in active, masculine Aries, including the hyper-enthusiastic, but waning “Mars-Jupiter” conjunction, helps to give us more of a sense of firm footing. We may feel less compelled to “act” and more inclined to simply “be.” Of course, this will be even more the case when Mercury, Venus (the feminine ruler of Taurus), and Mars all shift into earthy Taurus around mid-month from fiery, “Mars-ruled” Aries.

The keywords for Taurus the Bull are: “I have.” Enduring Taurus is concerned with acquisition and money matters. Doing whatever it can to solidify or secure its base of operations. It needs to feel more of a sense of permanence and stability which often occurs as a result of effectively managing its personal resources.

Too, money often “does matter” because, in many instances, money helps afford us the freedom and mobility of being able to “do our own thing,” with less restriction or interference from others. It also helps us to procure the things that we desire, instead of having to go without. It also aids us in practically manifesting the vision and dream of the preceding sign of Aries. “I am” Aries enthusiastically initiates, conceptualizes, lives in the moment. Taurus takes Aries newly-birthed dreams and creative ideas and gives them tangible shape and breath, so they don’t peter out. Aries’ visions of “sugar plum fairies’Β  become “real-life realities” alongside Taurus’s talented, Midas-type touch.

The down-to-earth sign of Taurus also speaks to us in plain english about our values. Whatever we spend our time and money on is often a good barometer of what it is that we value. What we value or esteem, of course, we ultimately become, as we actively seek to attract to us, the things that we treasure.

Too, if we are not presently happy with what we have around us, be it possessions or relationships, it could be that we have been putting emphasis on the wrong things in our lives, or have maybe been sending the Universe mixed messages. We may want to use this Taurus New Moon to become clearer, in our own minds, on exactly what it is that we do want in our lives, as well as what we don’t want.

On another level, we may already be fairly sure of what we want, but we are not very effective at time management, so as a consequence, we do not attract to us the things that we desire. We perhaps fritter away our precious days and nights on inconsequential matters that, in the end, only serve to imprison us from reaching our dreams and potentials.

This New Moon in Taurus is also receiving a quinqunx (adjustment) aspect from taskmaster Saturn in partnership Libra. With Saturn, there is usually the requirement that we have to explain ourselves or justify our actions to somebody. Could be a partner (Libra) in this case.

Regardless of the scenario, this quinqunx to critical Saturn may actually be a positive thing for us, as it can perhaps help us to better define (Saturn) to ourselves, what it is that we do truly want in our lives. It could be, too, that we decide that we don’t want “interfering types” hovering around us (Saturn in Libra) and that they better hush up, or quickly become history! πŸ™‚ We may also, again realize, that we have to make some changes in our daily habits, and how we go about allocating our “Saturn-ruled time,” so as to be able to acquire more of what we want out of life. This is something that I am personally trying to work on now for myself – and it ain’t easy!

Also, perhaps we would all be wise to keep in mind that, often when we help others (Libra) to get what they want, we do end up getting what we want (Taurus), and more. Especially when we freely give to others with a selfless spirit. Sometimes, of course, it is hard to give of ourselves freely, but that’s okay. In time, it often does get easier with conscious intention and a little bit of practice. Kind of like riding a bike.

What is it that you would like to have more of, in your life, with this trusty,Taurus New Moon standing by, ready to practically oblige you? What would you like to eliminate or scale back on? What three things can you do now, this very moment, to begin manifesting your desires? Is there also something that you could do today to help others, close to you, realize their dreams? Sometimes a simple word of encouragement, does the trick, don’t you think? Or just the withholding of a poisonous, negative remark.

Too, the Moon and Sun are in uncomplicated Taurus, which means that we do best by keeping our actions and deeds simple, and authentic. Of course, we cannot entirely rule out all the fanfare, with much of the gang, still rockin’ and rollin’ in the exuberant sign of Aries, which loves martial parades and colorful celebrations. We just need to find a happy balance here.

BTW, yours truly, has her natal Sun in Taurus and her rising in Aries, and spontaneous Mars, ruler of Aries, in her 10th house of career, at the very top of her chart. I am continually trying to find a healthy balance between feeling I need to originate new things and set the world on fire versus just sticking to and building upon what I have already undertaken. “New” things (Aries) perpetually tempt me and seem more golden to me then what already tangibly exists (Taurus) around me. Perhaps if I simply took more time cultivating and getting to know and appreciate what I already have, I would be much better off. More relaxed and at peace with myself.

Famous Taurus Birthdays May 3: Jaycee Dugard (31), Franki Valli (77)

My personal wish for you today: May you enjoy the rich harvest of the Taurus New Moon blessings, and magically attract to you, your heart’s noblest desires.

Astrology May 2, 2011: “Mission Accomplished!” Mars Conjunct Jupiter in Aries

COSMIC WEATHER:

“Justice has been done.” President Barack Obama (quote taken from his announcement, late yesterday, that Osama Bin Laden had been killed).

Mission accomplished! Nearly ten years after the 9/11 terror attack, a small team of U.S. forces (Navy Seals) raided a compound in Pakistan yesterday and reportedly killed Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind 9/11.Warrior Mars was exactly conjunct “lucky” Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, in military-ruling Aries, something that we have only had about two or three times in the last hundred years in this sign. (BTW, one of those times occurred back on January 6, 1940, during WWII, when General Semyon Suomussalmi was made head of all the Russian forces, a major shift in military command at the time.)

We also had a stellium of six planets (also referring here to the Moon as a planet) in fighter Aries yesterday, another rarity that we won’t have again for at least a dozen or more years. Of course, having such a heavy emphasis in Aries always ups the ante, potentially, for “military-type showdowns.” We continue to have five planets in Aries until May 11th. (Too, the day before this raid, there was the high-profile, unfortunate loss of life in Libya when the NATO strike force killed Moammar Gadhafi’s youngest son and three grandchildren, which garnered worldwide attention. That day, we also had Venus opposite Saturn, an aspect often associated with separation and sorrow.)

I have been blogging here the last few days about this special “Mars-Jupiter” aspect and how it tends to coincide with the occurrence of more singular, large-scale, high-profile events taking place in the collective (the Royal Wedding and the beatification of John Paul II; Jupiter also rules royalty, religion and clergy). Jupiter, the expansive urge, tends to magnify the size and scope of everything. Mars (the ruler of the aggressive urge and soldiers) generally serves to energize or “fire up” whatever it is aligned with. With these two forces merged together in “militaristic” Aries, Osama Bin Laden, the “most wanted person” on the planet, is finally captured and killed. A gargantuan (Jupiter) feat by any standard.

The Mars-Jupiter energy perennially tends to fuel our self-confidence and is additionally associated with risk-taking and adventure, especially in bravado Aries. Aries is also a zodiacal sign that is linked with “historic firsts,” “record-setting” and “discoveries.” Osama Bin Laden’s demise is also surely a huge (Jupiter) boost for the psyche of the U.S. armed forces (Mars). Already some are calling it a “game changer.”

Yesterday, in my blog, too, I mentioned that on, an individual level, this very dynamic influence gave us a marvelous, rare chance to “reinvent ourselves,” with Aries ruling our “self-identity” and “self-discovery.” Of course, viewing Aries on more of a collective level, as the sign of the military, this same aspect could be regarded as a favorable time to “reinvent,” or at least “retool,” the perception of the U.S. armed forces. Mars-Jupiter also coinciding here, of course, with the successful military raid on the compound where Osama had been hiding.

Also heard on the news today that President Obama gave the orders for the raid on Friday, when we had the illuminating Sun in Taurus harmoniously trined to Pluto in Capricorn. “Master Spy” Pluto, as ruler of secretive Scorpio, is associated with detection, investigation, and ferreting out hidden information. It denotes “hidden forces” and also “terrorism” and extremist activities. With Sun trine Pluto, we often are privy to finding out about clandestine affairs and plots. It can also often be a very transforming, regenerating (Pluto) influence, with Pluto ruling both death and rebirth. The Sun also represents world leaders and presidents. Capricorn, too, rules government.

Were you surprised to hear about Osama Bin Laden’s death? Did you ever think that he would someday be caught?

Astrology May 1, 2011: “Popes, Saints, Would-be Kings” Mars Conjunct Jupiter

COSMIC WEATHER:

“In his holy flirtation with the world, God occasionally drops a handkerchief. These handkerchiefs are called saints.” Frederick Buechner

With popes and beatification in the news, and would-be kings, it could be that Mars is aligned with Jupiter above! Mars and Jupiter are, indeed, conjunct in pioneering Aries now, and have been so for the last few days. This aspect is finally exact to the dot today (12:26 am EDT).

Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius (sign of religion and philosophy) and co-ruler of spiritual Pisces (ruler of saints), presides over affairs of royalty and and also clergyman, including religious figures such as the pope. Of course, we had the royal wedding on Friday of Kate Middleton and Prince William, and today, Pope Benedict XVI beatified Pope John Paul the II, bringing the late pontiff one step closer to sainthood. More than a million people descended on St. Peter’s Square and surrounding areas to partake in the event. Kate and Williams’s wedding was viewed by 2.6 billion people.

Expansive, grandiose Jupiter, associated with pomp and circumstance, generally wants everything done on a large, lavish scale. Part of his “perennially thinking big” mindset and orientation. Jupiter denotes the philosophy of optimism. “If you can believe it, you can achieve it bro! Don’t fret your poor self with worry over the pending charge account statement. You only go around once! You gotta’ live it up!” πŸ™‚

With energizer Mars conjoined with jolly Jupiter, it is much easier for us now to get carried away with our dreams and enthusiasm, especially in “unstoppable” Aries, the sign of “act first, think later.” So, we may want to make sure that we are adding in at least some measure of common sense with our actions, so we don’t disappoint later, or bite off more than we can chew, in our glorious quest to get ahead and our name on the marquis.

With that said, this is a fantastic time for self-promotion and for selling ourselves. Too, we can even inject some Jupiterian humor into the situation, like President Obama did last night at the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington DC.

I was checking, last night, and it appears that we have only had this Mars-Jupiter conjunction in Aries two or three times in the past 100 years or so, although these two planets meet up every couple years by conjunction. So today’s exact event is very rare. Too, we also have the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Uranus in Aries, the official sign of new beginnings. We will also not have this many planets in Aries again for many years, at least 12+ years or more. Also, the Aries Moon is simultaneously conjunct both Jupiter (10:51 am EDT) and Mars (11:21 am EDT) adding even more icing on our personality cakes.

What this all means, to me, is we have a golden, and again, very rare opportunity to re-design and re-invent ourselves now in unprecedented ways. Aries is about self-discovery, and also turning over a new leaf. If we have maybe been feeling down in the dumps, we need to somehow find a way to re-kindle our passions again today, and attempt to make our lives spectacular and magnificent, on the grand, lavish scale of Mars-Jupiter. To have the world around us take notice of us for our crowing achievements and singular contributions for the good of humanity. Even if we may initially only be a “big fish in a small pond.” At least, it’s a beginning! And, we’ll also do Mars-Jupiter proud! May the “Mars-Jupiter force,” be with you today!

Astrology April 30, 2011: “Resistance To Love” Venus Opposite Saturn

COSMIC WEATHER:

“Most people have a harder time letting themselves love than finding someone to love them.” Bill Russell

Today’s Venus-Saturn opposition (8:15 pm EDT) has been linked with a “fear of involvement,”or a general “resistance to love.” Saturn symbolically represents our fears, also our duties and obligations. When it is aligned with Venus, governing our affections, there can be some blockages in the expression of our feelings for a myriad of reasons. Or we may just feel more obligated by love. Sometimes, too, with this aspect, others let us down or do not give us the support that we need. Venus-Saturn also has some history with separations. Regardless of the scenario, we may find that we prefer our own company more now.

Financially, because Venus also rules money, we may encounter some temporary restrictions or challenges in this area. It may also behoove us to be more frugal (Saturn) now, or to try getting by with less.

Meanwhile, the Moon’s placement in fiery, “start-me-up” Aries means we have a tally of six planets in this restless sign, today and tomorrow. (Won’t have this number again here for several years.) We also have 8 planets in the cardinal signs (also linked with originating action).

With such a preponderance of Aries and Cardinal energy, we will want to make sure that we are finding a way to expend all of this physical energy. Gardening, or yard work, may be ideal for us now, especially with the Sun in earthy Taurus. I personally went shopping for flowers today at the local farmer’s market and will be planting them tomorrow. I also have an Aries rising and, have to admit, I am really feeling the weight of the Aries energy. I seem to be having more difficulty focusing and concentrating on tasks. Anyone else feeling this way?

Enjoy your Saturday!

Astrology April 28, 2011: “Be An Angel” Moon in Pisces

COSMIC WEATHER:

“When angels visit us, we do not hear the rustle of wings, nor feel the feathery touch of the breast of a dove; but we know their presence by the love they create in our hearts.” Unknown

The compassionate Pisces Moon admonishes us to be an angel to others today. To selflessly take creatures, fragile or weak, under our wings and provide them with kind, loving shelter. Too, sometimes just taking a moment to utter a few, uplifting words to a person can fill that person with a bright, glorious hope.

We also have energizer Mars applying to a conjunction to expansive, optimistic Jupiter today (this aspect will also be in around for the Royal Wedding). This is a very potent alignment that tends to make us much more open to envisioning grander possibilities for ourselves and others. As a matter of fact, if we could astrologically “bottle” hope, this is one aspect that we would be putting into that container.

Too, Mars conjunct Jupiter is linked with evangelizing and preaching. So, if you perhaps feel a little inspired to give that “sermon on the mount” today, this aspect could be the reason why.

BTW, Mars-Jupiter also has a legacy of being mingled in with the affairs of royalty, with Jupiter ruling kings and queens. Kind of neat that this uplifting aspect will be imbedded, forever, in Kate and William’s royal wedding chart. It could be, too, that their loving marriage will serve as an inspiring template for others, maybe the whole world, to follow. The late Princess Diana, now in the company of angels herself, must be so very, very proud. Of course, Diana’s, dear, sweet memory, will also be present in all of our hearts tomorrow, as we watch the young couple wed.

Famous Birthdays April 28th: Jay Leno (61), Ann Margret (70).

A quick peek at Ann-Margret’s horoscope shows that she has 6 planets in earthy, sensual Taurus, which is also a very artistic sign. Four of those Taurus planets are involved in a harmonious trine to creative, imaginative Neptune. The Neptune influence helps to endow Ann with more of an ephemeral or otherworldly (angelic) quality, and also makes her very sympathetic and compassionate. Everything I have always read about Ann-Margret suggests that she does, indeed, have a heart of gold.

Have an angelic day! Earn those wings!

Personal note: From the looks of things, I may need to be away from here for a few days. But, I shall return!

COSMIC WEATHER:

“All of our reasoning ends in surrender to feeling.” Blaise Pascal

The Moon enters “contemplative” Pisces today (12:58 am EDT) and immediately formsΒ  a potent conjunction to Neptune, the ruler of Pisces (2:06 am EDT). This is the first time this has occurred here in about 150 years.Β  With this double-dose ofΒ  “Neptunian energy”Β  mystically engulfing us, there can be more of a desire to surrender to “unseen forces.” Neptune, of course, denotes our “link with the Divine.” It also represents our “urge for escape (fantasy),” and the impulse to avoid confrontation.

Ironically, with this more “retreating” Pisces Moon backdrop, we also have the more “high-drama” Venus square Pluto aspect (3:19 am EDT), which is, potentially, a more conflicting, confrontational type energy, that is linked with “depth of feeling” and “all-consuming” passion. Venus, again, rules love and relationships, and money and what we value. Pluto governs our “urge for reform” and also the “desire to purge.” It is tied in with power, control, erotica and sexual issues, compulsive-type behavior and feelings of obsession. Pluto also symbolically rules death. Its vibration is intense and laser-focused.

Often when we merge these two, with the “square” aspect often “forcing matters,” we see, on the shadow side, the emergence of some very thorny relationship, or money issues, especially if we are acting in a self-serving manner. It is suggested that, to avoid giving a platform to these problematic issues, we wisely refrain now from engaging in manipulative (Pluto) or controlling behavior and avoid deliberately pushing “hot button” topics. This also extends to the professional front, as Pluto is in Capricorn, the sign of career.

On another level, though, Venus-Pluto does sometimes have a healing or redemptive quality to it, and can also mark the beneficial ending (Pluto) of a personal or business relationship (Venus) that is no longer useful to us, or that has simply outlived its purpose. Moving on from such a tie now may actually be a potent way to “regenerate” (Pluto) ourselves.

To cite, perhaps, a high-profile example of this: Yesterday, on the eve of this aspect, came word that CBS Evening News Anchor, Katie Couric, would be leaving that post at CBS, when her contract expires at the end of June. Katie, a Capricorn, debuted as nightly news anchor when Saturn in entertainment Leo was exactly opposite hazy, dissolving Neptune in Aquarius (sign of broadcasting). The ratings for the program have never been very good. Often with Saturn-Neptune we experience more “ego-denying” experiences. Saturn-Neptune energy is often depicted as a time when the “rug is pulled out” from under us, a period when we do not receive the kind of support that we need.

Meanwhile, we also have a powerful “Sun trine Pluto” aspect today, with the Sun in pragmatic Taurus, the sign of money. This can also suggest that we can successfully make some practical (Taurus) reforms (Pluto) in our lives now. It also gives us more resolve to tackle difficult issues head-on with determination and courage. Sun trine Pluto can additionally bring about more “transparency,” as it can illuminate (Sun) previously hidden matters (Pluto). Although, we may want to be careful now that we don’t also “spill the beans” on things that we don’t want revealed.

Coincidentally, as I am writing this, a news report has just come out that the White House has released President Obama’s “long form” birth certficate today (transparency), in a bid to end a long-standing public controversy on whether or not he was not born in the U.S.Β  (The birth certificate shows that he was.) Also, today will be the very first time that the Federal Reserve (Taurus) has ever held a “press conference,” with Fed Chairman, Ben Bernanke, set to be grilled by the media. The Central Bank has traditionally operated with a high-level of secrecy (Pluto). Pluto also rules debt and credit issues.

Do you maybe feel a need for more transparency (Sun trine Pluto) in your own life today? Do you see where it perhaps could be helpful to you now, to share a secret about yourself, or to divulge some information? Too, sometimes when we do “unload stuff,” we do feel better, more freer. In other words, there can be a decided “cathartic” affect (Pluto) to the whole process.

Astrology April 26, 2011: “Early Bird Catches Worm” Moon Sextile Jupiter

COSMIC WEATHER:

“A pessimist is a man who thinks all women are bad. An optimist is one who hopes they are.” Chauncey Depew πŸ™‚

It could be the “early bird catches the worm” today with the Aquarius Moon’s early morning sextile to fortuitous Jupiter in “trailblazing” Aries (7:29 am EDT). The futuristic Moon in Aquarius is a perfect conduit for visionary Jupiter, the planet of expansion and optimism. With Moon-Jupiter we tend to be more upbeat emotionally, which may explain why we often attract more positive things to us under this influence.

Jupiter also governs our sense of humor and when aligned with the Moon, there can be more of an ability to see things from a humorous perspective, which can also be a good way to help endear other people to us. I think most of us like to be around people who can “lighten us up,” or make us laugh, don’t you?

The Moon will be in Aquarius all day again today, not really making any other major aspects, the rest of the day, after her sextile to Jupiter. Shortly after midnight tonight, she will shift into dreamy Pisces.

Wanted to also briefly mention that we are getting ready to have another “high-drama” Venus-Pluto hookup tomorrow (3:19 am EDT), which can often be a real “soap operish” type aspect in which we are tempted to go to extremes, especially in romance. Venus rules love and money. Pluto rules power and manipulation. This influence is already starting to apply so we may want to monitor ourselves today and make sure that we are not acting too pushy, accusatory, or self-serving. (We can also encounter boorish types who act this way with us.)

Also, it’s probably a good idea to hold offΒ  issuing “Pluto” ultimatums for a few days. Venus-Pluto tends to fire up our emotions and passions.

“Love comes when manipulation stops.” Joyce Brothers

Famous Birthdays April 26th: Michael Damian (49), Carol Burnett (78). BTW, Carol has both her Moon and Sun in down-to-earth, easy to relate to Taurus, and her Sun is exactly conjunct her Venus in Taurus, endowing her with a lot of warmth to her personality and also giving her a strong personal power of attraction (Venus). Sun-Venus aspects also can denote artistic ability.

She also has Mars and Neptune conjunct in exacting Virgo which can be a phenomenal force for stoking the creative juices (Mars energizes whatever it touches and Neptune rules the imagination, also acting). Too, Carol, has her Moon trine Jupiter (sense of humor), a very similar aspect to the Moon-Jupiter sextile influence that we have in operation today, an aspect which I also happen to have exact in my chart. Of course, Carol Burnett is a legend in the comedy world. I have admired her all my life for being so talented and funny.Β  In my own way, I also try to be lighthearted and optimistic, and I can usually manage to find the humor in things, but I’m certainly no comedian. How about you? Can you usually see the humor in situations? Do you think others find you funny? Do you have a Moon-Jupiter linkup in your horoscope? Or perhaps Mercury-Jupiter or Sun-Jupiter (equivalent type energy)? Hopefully, too, we’ll all find something to laugh about today.

“A well-developed sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to your steps as you walk the tightrope of life.” William Arthur Ward

Enjoy your day!

COSMIC WEATHER:

“It has bothered me all my life that I do not paint like everybody else.” Henri Matisse

The Moon is in individualistic Aquarius all day, encouraging us to celebrate and revel in our own personal brand, while at the same time urging us to make a positive contribution to the collective. Too, due to the airy, detached nature of Aquarius, the Moon here also potentially supplies us with more objectivity for dealing with our feelings. The Aquarius Moon is also innovative, so it is a great day to be curious. To ask questions. To see if there is a novel way to improve upon the existing protocol.

The experimental Aquarian Moon energy also adds positive support to the cartel of five planets in enterprising Aries, a sign that is largely focused on the matter of its own self-discovery, and proving itself through bold action. The Moon’s harmonious trine to stabilizer Saturn in relationship Libra (1:46 pm EDT) also helps to get us solid backing and endorsement from others for whatever worthy causes we might want to spearhead today.

Astrology April 24, 2011: “Emotional Detachment” Moon in Aquarius Horoscope

COSMIC WEATHER:

“He he would be serene and pure needs but one thing, detachment.” Meister Eckhart

The Moon vacates practical Capricorn for objective Aquarius (2:00 pm EDT) allowing us to experience more of an emotional detachment with respect to our feelings. Mercury in energetic Aries also continues its opposition to serious Saturn in partnership Libra, perhaps inclining us to want to discuss more substantive (Saturn) issues with our mates, including maybe commitment? (Saturn)

This is also an excellent day for studying history or science, or for learning new technology. Too, it could be that with the smart Aquarian Moon, we are able to masterfully detect where the Easter bunny has hidden all the eggs. πŸ™‚ Too, for those who celebrate it, Happy Easter!

Famous Birthdays April 24th: Shirley MacLaine (77), Barbra Streisand (69). BTW, Barbara’s horoscope is very similar to my own. We both have Sun in Taurus, Moon in Leo, and an Aries Rising. Too, I have always personally identified with Barbra, since I was a child. I think her personality is a lot like mine, particularly her sense of humor. Unfortunately though, for me, I cannot sing and I don’t have her kind of money. Also, I wish I had a man like James Brolin!

Too, a peek at Shirley MacLaine’s horoscope reveals that she has an analytical Virgo Moon conjunct mystical Neptune, perhaps why she doesn’t mind “going out on a limb” discussing her spiritual beliefs before the public (Moon). Of course, she is also regarded, by some, as being a little bit “spacey” (Neptune). The Moon not only rules the public, but it also governs our public image. Shirley also has expansive Jupiter in Libra in her first house, giving her grand creative (Libra) talents ( as both a performing artist and writer), and also making her a natural teacher (Jupiter). Additionally, she has innate ability as a “peacemaker” and “diplomat.” (Jupiter in Libra)

Oprah Winfrey recently had Shirley MacLaine on her program. Did you see the show? Oprah mentioned to Shirley that it was Shirley’s book, “Out On A Limb,” that significantly altered her own thinking on religion and spirituality. I was really surprised to hear her say that. Shirley also talked on the Oprah Show about her experience with “UFO’s.”
