Cosmic Weather:

“Nurturing a feeling makes it proliferate. Choose wisely. Joy, kindness, love, & caring will illuminate your life.” Amy Leigh Mercree

Today, we have a promising chance of building a better, more soothing relationship with our inner or private world, including home and family areas or with perhaps our tribal community (the Lunar Eclipse occurring in “nesting” Cancer, at 2:21 pm), realms which we may have been neglecting recently to focus more intently on the day-to-day concerns of the outer world or the material perspectives (such as career, reputation, or possibly even the issues of the collective). The Cancerian energy available to us now is much more “connective” in nature, more protective and nourishing for our soul or spirit. Kind of like being wrapped in a nice, warm, comfy blanket.

Also, simultaneous with a Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, which tends to bring matters to a culmination or a conclusion, our emotions and feelings tend to be at more of a fever pitch now, which is something that we may also want to factor into the equation when it comes to possibly spearheading or initiating any kind of new actions that we may feel presently inspired to undertake.

Additionally, we may be forming a much clearer mental picture, at this time (Cancer Moon opposite Sun conjunct Mercury in Capricorn), of what structures or practices that we perhaps need to purge or eliminate from our lives (Cancer Moon opposite the Pluto-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn), as well as what new structures, habits, or safeguards, may need to be added or positively resurrected, in order to make them richer, healthier, or more fuller in the future. This changeover or renaissance could even extend to dietary concerns or the type of food that we eat since Cancer governs food, nurturing or sustenance.

The Sun-Mercury conjunction occurring today can create not only some brilliant or illuminating cognitive insights for us all, but it can also put a real focus now on the communications sphere, as a whole, making us much more inclined to want to articulate or write about or share the new perceptions or ideas that are suddenly filtering into our conscious awareness. It’s also possible now that we will receive some news or information that potentially has a dramatic impact on our lives. Too, with the more sensitive Cancer Moon opposing the Sun-Mercury conjunction, we may feel more of a vacillation, or more of a back and forth internally, between our emotions and our reasoning.

Wild card Uranus, symbolizing radical change, individuality, and breakthrough thinking, which is also thought of us as the higher octave of cerebral Mercury, is also stationing direct today at 2 degrees of financially-minded Taurus. That shift in direction can also potentially produce some important new insights, downloads, or developments, especially perhaps pertaining to monetary matters or the management of our material resources or possibly with respect to making us more aware of what it is that we truly value or want to attract our way in the future. This Uranus station may also possibly mark a key turning point in which we are able to more freely express our individuality or unique life purpose in a more public or forthcoming manner, in the days and weeks ahead.

“The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.” Jim Morrison

*All times EST.

Tarot Card for the Day: The Hermit Card, which is a very inwardly reflective card that can endow us with a more palpable sense of being part of a greater whole. This card also ties in nicely with the Cancer Full Moon today which is also forming a flowing trine to inspirational Neptune, which symbolizes, among other things, a feeling of inner divinity or connection with Source Energy or the Universe, whatever you want to call it.

Numerologically: Today (1/10/2020) is a “one” day which is associated with fresh, new beginnings as well as being full of potential for assuming more of a leadership stance and building in or displaying self-confidence.

Happy Lunar Eclipse blessings to you!

Cosmic Weather:

Two, very nice, harmonizing trine aspects are occurring today as those of us, in the US, get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving Day:

Mercury in Scorpio trines Neptune in Pisces (4:50 am) – This lovely, more inspirational-type aspect potentially helps us to become more empathic or heart-centered in our conversations or communications. It’s excellent energy for generating overall psychic awareness or for tapping into our intuition. Ideally, we’re feeling more connected with our own inner sense of divinity. Possibly more willing to seeing unifying threads among us all. It’s also an excellent aspect for doing any kind of creative work, or for listening to music, or for maybe relaxing by the sea.

Venus in Capricorn trining Uranus RX in Taurus (1:27 pm): This exciting aspect can motivate us to want to partake in some stimulating or out-of-the-norm social or romantic activities. It can also bring people into our orbit who we might not normally interact with but now find very engaging or even liberating to be around. This galvanizing energy may also present us with sudden opportunities or outlets for financial or professional growth, including the chance to take fresh new approaches to these areas.

The waxing Moon also enters traditionally-minded Capricorn, this morning (7:32 am), where it will remain for the next couple days. This lunar placement helps us to appreciate or draw upon our past experiences, in a positive way.

Numerologically, with it being the 28th day of the month, there’s also greater potential for being able to express leadership qualities, as well as for taking initiative.

Cosmic Weather:

The big cosmic headline for today is Venus’s shift from “footloose and fancy-free” Sagittarius to “I take great pride in balancing my checkbook” Capricorn, which officially occurs, this evening (7:28 pm).

Venus, named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty, symbolically governs our relationships, our social life, and our values. Venus sheds light on what we enjoy or look forward to. Also, Venus’s placement by sign is thought to reflect or shape our attitudes towards money and possessions.

Too, it used to be that Venus was the brightest planet in the night sky. But all that likely changes, as of tonight, as probably the first thing she’ll do when she flits into frugal Capricorn will be to turn on the dimmer switch! 🙂

Generally, Venus in Saturn-ruled Cappie is all about conserving or using our resources wisely. Abiding by the traditional or the time-tested.

Because Capricorn also rules career, status, and reputation, there’s also potentially a greater appreciation or affinity now for those persons who can help us to ascend the corporate ladder.

Venus will remain in Capricorn until December 20th.

The Moon is also in its Balsamic phase in eliminating Scorpio, all day, in preparation for tomorrow’s New Moon in Sagittarius. So today is excellent for releasing or letting go. It’s also a great time for reflecting upon the past and for setting our New Moon intentions.

“The past is never where you think you left it.” Katherine Anne Porter

Numerologically, today is also a “7” day (the 25th reduces down to 2+5, which equals 7). The number seven is thought to have a more intuitive or mystical orientation to it. Too, the Holy Spirit is supposedly quoted 25 times in the Gospels.

*All times EST

Hope it’s a good one!

(Today’s Planetary Aspects: Venus conjunct Jupiter, 3:51 am; Moon opposite Mars, 1:32 pm; Sun trine Neptune, 5:10 pm; Moon sextile Neptune, 9:59 pm; Moon opposite Sun, 10:20 pm. Moon is in Sagittarius until 5:11 am, when it enters Capricorn; All times EDT.)

Cosmic Quote of the Day: “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.” Henry Ford

Isn’t it interesting that when we each focus on becoming more of what we already are, success is something that becomes almost a non-issue for us?

Today’s Energy:

A Full Moon in “ambitious” Capricorn occurs at 10:20 pm tonight. Full Moons bring heightened awareness, thereby allowing us to cop new perspectives. The Full Moon in Capricorn specifically affords us a chance to focus on creating more of a work/life balance – never an easy task! This is an excellent time to revisit those goals that we eagerly set, at the start of the year, and evaluate how we are faring with them. Are we still wanting to tow the line, or do we maybe need to make a course correction? Or, possibly we have gotten sidetracked, the last few months, and need to get back on track now with the personal vision that we hold for ourselves. A Capricorn Full Moon also puts the spotlight on those traditional elements that accompany our public image such as reputation, leadership ability, organizational skills, and career success.

Lovable Venus also exactly conjuncts benefic Jupiter today (3:51 am), an influence that has been building in strength, for the last few days. This is regarded as one of the most fortuitous, pleasurable, and romantic influences of all as expansive Jupiter, the purveyor of opportunity, magnifies all the best qualities of the charming Venusian energy. This conjunction also helps to re-set the socially reforming, albeit seemingly magical, Jupiter Uranus trine, which is still within a one degree orb from being exact. We tend to see the best in others now and want to do what is in our power to make others happy. Our mood is very warm, friendly and gregarious, although we could get a little carried away with self-indulgent behavior, especially since this influence tends to favor or court lavish celebrations or overtures. Of course, we could also counteract or neutralize this tendency, if we wanted to, by intentionally engaging in random acts of kindness, in an effort to spread the wealth and gaiety around. This aspect remains in effect for a couple of days.

Moon opposite Mars, 1:32 pm. We are poised to meet or achieve our goals, but may need to possibly counteract a tendency toward hypersensitivity, even bullying. Avoiding those who know how to push our buttons, too, is probably a smart strategy now.

Sun trine Neptune, 9:59 pm. This is a highly creative and imaginative aspect that kindles our humanitarian instincts and compassion. We are more willing to take a back seat to others now as our ego needs subside, although we may still need to be vigilant or discerning as to the sincerity of other people’s intentions. In general, this is excellent energy for dissolving differences, implementing peacekeeping measures or truces, both on an individual and a collective level.  Also, quite fittingly here, President Obama is reportedly set to unveil, today, a deal between the U.S. and Cuba that would reopen embassies and restore diplomatic ties that were broken more than 50 years ago (from AOL.com).

Also, Sun trine Neptune is an ideal influence for immersion in spiritual studies, meditation, partaking in retreats, taking trips by the sea, or any type of visioning work. Those who are artistically gifted may also find this energy great for doing photography, painting, sculpting, or watercolor.  This alignment is also, of course, a very nice complement to the loving, very generous in nature, Venus-Jupiter aspect, as they both potentially carry a lot of healing energy within them.  This influence will remain in effect for two or three days.

COSMIC WATCH:

The Full Moon in “nesting” Cancer today may create greater awareness of the need or desire to balance the home and family arena with work and duties symbolized by the opposing Capricorn Sun. A harmonious sextile to the lunation from assertive Mars in organizing, correcting Virgo is also possibly a cue for us to become more productive and efficient. This is excellent energy for self-assessment and scrutinizing (Virgo) what we may need to add or eliminate in our lives in order to make more headway toward our goals.

Too, with the Full Moon in domestic Cancer we may find that by doing some de-cluttering in our home environment now, especially removing objects that we do not like, or deem to be beautiful, can also help to free us from the erroneous notion that we are stuck or powerless to alter our life circumstances in general. Also, by taking this action we effectively send a message to our subconscious and the Universe that we are capable of adeptly managing our affairs and can be trusted to do the same in the future, thereby opening the door for more abundance and prosperity to flow into our lives.

“Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.” Cameron Crowe

Today’s Affirmation: I know that every moment is a template for a new beginning and I choose to act accordingly on this awareness.

COSMIC WATCH:

The first half of the day, the Moon finishes up her monthly stay in starry-eyed Sagittarius, where we are still, no doubt, eager to impart vestiges of our sacred vision of the future to anyone that we can cleverly seduce to hold royal court with us. 🙂 The fact that we also have idealistic, dreamy Neptune in futuristic Aquarius joining us for that “sermon on the mount,” via the harmonious sextile aspect (9:30 am EDT), is most assuredly, an extra feather in our cap. This is also very nice energy for immersion into humanitarian causes, as Neptune governs our compassionate impulses, as well as our imagination and creativity. Too, the Sadge Moon naturally inclines us to want to make a positive or uplifting contribution to the collective, in some way.

Later, the Moon’s descent into pragmatic Capricorn (12:39 pm EDT), the Saturnian school of hard knocks, has us quickly exiting the cumulus stratosphere for the safety and security of the more grounded earth plane. The Capricorn Moon is always that time of the month when we are inclined to buckle down and get serious with our practical goals and intentions for ourselves. However, we will also initially need to be very flexible, maybe even innovative, as the Moon is squaring rebellious, non-conforming Uranus in spontaneous Aries (2:53 pm EDT), a time which can find us dealing with unexpected twists and turns.

Fortunately for us, though, the late evening hours are potentially very regenerative and healing, as the Moon forms a trine to fortuitous Jupiter in financial Taurus (9:19 pm EDT) and a conjunction with transforming Pluto in worldly Capricorn (9:58 pm EDT). Too, we still do have expansive Jupiter in a trine aspect with Pluto (this was exact on Friday), so tonight’s energies help us to tap into that magical configuration once again. This may particularly be an advantageous evening for plotting career or business moves that are revitalizing.

“To work for the common good is the greatest creed.” Albert Schweitzer

Are you satisfied with your work or career path? Does it give you a sense of fulfillment? What is often fun to do with a natal chart is see how a person’s Sun is aspected. The Sun symbolizes our ego and power source and often the closest aspects to it seem to shed light on our special “mission in life.” In my chart, for example, I have the Sun exactly sextile Uranus which rules, among other things, astrology. I also have a tight square to probing Pluto and I majored in psychology in college, a subject which Pluto governs. I have always been deeply fascinated with human behavior. I have often thought, too, I would have made a great detective, as I have Mars, ruling law enforcement, in my career house and a Martian-ruled Aries rising. Of course, in a way, I am a “cosmic detective,”  attempting to uncover the celestial influences surreptitiously at play in our lives.

Enjoy your Sunday!

COSMIC WATCH:

The “ambitious” Capricorn Moon suggests that we put our attention on career or business concerns today. The placement of the Moon in this Saturn-ruled sign tends to make us more practical or utilitarian in our daily approach.

Also, a fortuitous trine aspect from the Moon to optimistic Jupiter (4:50pm EDT) in financial Taurus may bring along with it some tangible rewards our way or fab opportunities for us to shine. Assertive Mars in self-protective Cancer is also making a creative quintile aspect to Jupiter, upping the ante on our enthusiasm and courage.

COSMIC WATCH:

“It’s easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.” Josiah Charles Stamp

The Moon stays in “responsible” Capricorn all day, the sign of career, reputation and status, encouraging us to focus on business and practical concerns. The Moon’s trine to expansive Jupiter in money-ruling Taurus (10:17 am EDT) may also present us with a chance to put more green in our pockets with Jupiter being the planet of goodwill and opportunity. It is an excellent time for growing our network or for making cold-calls or prospecting.

Later in the day, with the Moon’s square to restrictive Saturn in relationship Libra (4:34 pm EDT) “flying solo” likely offers us the most dividends. That strategy may also help to preserve the peace.

“I restore myself when I’m alone.” Marilyn Monroe

Famous People with Moon in Capricorn: Lucille Ball. “Lucy” would have turned 100 on August 6th, last week. The cosmic energy of today is actually somewhat similar to what Lucy had in her horoscope, as she was a creative Leo Sun, with the personally ambitious Capricorn Moon, and her Moon was sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio, the sign of shared resources. The Moon also rules the public, with favorable Moon-Jupiter aspects helping to frame positive relationships with others. Of course, we all “loved Lucy.”

Jupiter, which also rules our sense of humor, was at the very top of her chart in her career house. Too, Lucy was not only a grand comedian she was also a very astute business person. She  had her “maternal” Moon conjunct a Capricorn Ascendant, helping her to perhaps materially prosper from her television role as a beloved wife and mother. The Ascendant is the window from which we view the world. It is also how other people see us.

“I’d rather regret the things I have done than regret the things I haven’t done.” Lucille Ball

Remember the “I Love Lucy” episode when Ethel and Lucy went to work in that chocolate factory and both were standing behind that conveyor belt trying to box the chocolates? Definitely my favorite episode.

COSMIC WATCH:

“Work, love and play are the great balance wheels of man’s being.” Orison Swett Marden

There’s a Full Moon in “career” Capricorn today (2:40 am EDT). Meaning that the Sun is in opposition to the Moon from “nesting” Cancer. With a Full Moon we aim to balance opposing forces. In this case, our “cosmic marching order” is to create a healthy equilibrium between our professional or outer world activities (Capricorn) and our obligations or duties on the home front (Cancer). We may also encounter real-life scenarios now that trigger “hands-on experience,” or offer “extra insight,” on exactly how to do this.

For instance, there could be a sudden event in the home arena that serves as a “wake-up call” for us to change or recalibrate our priorities at work. Perhaps the event makes us realize that we have been focusing too much on our career to the detriment of the needs of our immediate environment.  Or, vice versa. Maybe we have been too busy cocooning at home and now we suddenly realize that we need to re-engage again with the outside world. Perhaps we haven’t been working for a while and now we need to re-enter the work force to supplement the family budget.

Too, it could be that the Full Moon in Capricorn serves as a lightning rod for generating new revelations about our life’s work. Or, contribution to society. It may also be a good time to ask ourselves if we are truly happy or satisfied with the professional path that we have selected. Do we think that we are doing what we came into this life to do?

If not, we may want to make some changes now. Maybe scrap certain activities that have have become counterproductive or outmoded. We may even want to consider going back to school. Get new training to expand our job skills. The Full Moon in Capricorn does form an exact creative quintile with “change-agent” Uranus in “new beginnings” Aries. Uranus often demands that we “alter” or “reinvent” ourselves, so that we can lead lives that are a greater testament to our authentic being. And less a reflection of society’s or other people’s dictates for us.

Too, Uranus rules technology. This may be a good time to upgrade our tech skills in conjunction with our career (Capricorn). Or maybe employ some new technology to aid us in a job search.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

COSMIC WATCH:

“They spoil every romance by trying to make it last forever.” Oscar Wilde

The Moon in social Libra points us in the direction of relationships. However, Libra’s ruler, sweet Venus, is also making a square to erratic Uranus, the planet of rebellion, so affairs of the heart could be somewhat unsettled. Venus-Uranus is often chocked full of twists and turns. With that said, it may also be wise for us to subdue any of our “wilder impulses” (Uranus) for the time being.

We also have a dynamic, very fortuitous trine today between Jupiter, the planet of opportunity and abundance, in financial Taurus, and rejuvenating Pluto in influential Capricorn. A time for us to aim high and reach for the stars with respect to our professional or career goals. This is also an excellent time for purging and letting go of the past, especially ridding ourselves of self-limiting beliefs and doubts about our capabilities. Jupiter-Pluto is also associated with “mega-wealth” (billionaires) and “mega-power,” making this an ideal time to network with high-profile types who may be able to magically assist us in our ascent to the top.

Interestingly, President Obama is also holding a “bipartisan debt discussion” at the White House today with Republican and Democratic leaders. Pluto is the planet that governs debt. Perhaps Pluto’s alignment with lucky Jupiter, may finally bring about some forward progress on the matter of raising (Jupiter) the debt ceiling (Pluto) in the U.S.

Personal Note: Below is a link to “Buckman Film Academy,” which is my niece, Sarah Nagy’s, film school for children in Portland, Oregon. I thought you may want to check it out. Sarah (a Leo Sun) is also presently selling some of her original artwork on the site. You can go to her site and then click on the “artwork for sale” tab, at the top of the page, and see what she is offering. I think her artwork is very cool. I’m so proud of her, especially the wonderful work that she does with children.

Enjoy your Thursday! Remember to temper those “wild impulses.” 🙂
