The “optimistic” Sagittarius Moon may find us wishing upon a star. It could be, too, that many of our wishes do come true now with a Grand Earth Trine, today through Thursday. Abundant Jupiter, romantic Venus, courageous Mars and reforming Pluto may serve as an auspicious springboard to help us manifest our financial and pleasurable intentions for ourselves.
This rare grand trine is potentially very transforming energy that can help to dramatically reshape our world in all sorts of wondrous ways. Also, hopefully allowing us to simultaneously spread our sphere of influence in a positive manner.
This is also an ideal period for achieving a deeper awareness of the mysteries of life, as well boding well for our being able to solve long-standing riddles, or ferret out what has previously been hidden from view, perhaps even tucked away in our own amazing depths. “He then learns that in going down into the secrets of his own mind he has descended into the secrets of all minds.”Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Jupiter, the planet of optimism and opportunity, is in harmonious alignment with the Sun, our power source and sense of self. The Moon is also in “pioneering” Aries. We are encouraged to act with confidence today and to mingle socially with others, particularly with those who are perceived to be authority figures or our superiors (Sun), as we have a chance to really shine now in their presence, which could help us to get ahead. The energy of the day is also conducive for undertaking new personal beginnings, or making headway with our goals. With Sun-Jupiter, we are better able to see the “big picture” view of things, although we still do need to be attentive to the details.
Jupiter is also in “money and possession sign” Taurus and it is interesting that yesterday, as this influence was applying, the S & P’s 500-stock index closed at its highest level since 2008, on the heels of better-than-expected reports on home sales and consumer sentiment (wsj.com). Jupiter, which is linked with abundance, is often billed as the “cosmic Santa.” Jupiter is also applying to a positive trine to Pluto, which will be exact in a couple weeks. Pluto is associated with mega-wealth.

The first half of the day, the Moon finishes up her monthly stay in starry-eyed Sagittarius, where we are still, no doubt, eager to impart vestiges of our sacred vision of the future to anyone that we can cleverly seduce to hold royal court with us. 🙂 The fact that we also have idealistic, dreamy Neptune in futuristic Aquarius joining us for that “sermon on the mount,” via the harmonious sextile aspect (9:30 am EDT), is most assuredly, an extra feather in our cap. This is also very nice energy for immersion into humanitarian causes, as Neptune governs our compassionate impulses, as well as our imagination and creativity. Too, the Sadge Moon naturally inclines us to want to make a positive or uplifting contribution to the collective, in some way.
Later, the Moon’s descent into pragmatic Capricorn (12:39 pm EDT), the Saturnian school of hard knocks, has us quickly exiting the cumulus stratosphere for the safety and security of the more grounded earth plane. The Capricorn Moon is always that time of the month when we are inclined to buckle down and get serious with our practical goals and intentions for ourselves. However, we will also initially need to be very flexible, maybe even innovative, as the Moon is squaring rebellious, non-conforming Uranus in spontaneous Aries (2:53 pm EDT), a time which can find us dealing with unexpected twists and turns.
Fortunately for us, though, the late evening hours are potentially very regenerative and healing, as the Moon forms a trine to fortuitous Jupiter in financial Taurus (9:19 pm EDT) and a conjunction with transforming Pluto in worldly Capricorn (9:58 pm EDT). Too, we still do have expansive Jupiter in a trine aspect with Pluto (this was exact on Friday), so tonight’s energies help us to tap into that magical configuration once again. This may particularly be an advantageous evening for plotting career or business moves that are revitalizing.

Are you satisfied with your work or career path? Does it give you a sense of fulfillment? What is often fun to do with a natal chart is see how a person’s Sun is aspected. The Sun symbolizes our ego and power source and often the closest aspects to it seem to shed light on our special “mission in life.” In my chart, for example, I have the Sun exactly sextile Uranus which rules, among other things, astrology. I also have a tight square to probing Pluto and I majored in psychology in college, a subject which Pluto governs. I have always been deeply fascinated with human behavior. I have often thought, too, I would have made a great detective, as I have Mars, ruling law enforcement, in my career house and a Martian-ruled Aries rising. Of course, in a way, I am a “cosmic detective,” attempting to uncover the celestial influences surreptitiously at play in our lives.

In wake of yesterday’s potent New Moon, the intensity level remains high, as the Moon continues its passage through “all-or-nothing” Scorpio, where it can prompt more extreme forms of behavior, or the taking of extreme measures. Our keen appetite for unraveling mysteries, solving riddles, digging beneath the surface of things can also bring tangible rewards, along with very dramatic insights. Particularly with the Moon’s monthly conjunction with logical communicator Mercury (10:09 pm EDT), an aspect which allows us to deftly blend our emotional awareness into mesmerizing words or speech.
Our passions and desires are also at a peak level of expression as the Scorpio Moon forms a potent square to assertive Mars in dramatic Leo (10:57 pm EDT), an aspect that also raises the potential for discord or clashes, if we fail to consider other’s sensitivities or needs.
“Courteousness is consideration for others; politeness is the method used to deliver such considerations.”Bryant H. McGill
In the News: European leaders finally agreed to a deal to reduce Greece’s debt, early this morning, after convening yesterday for a marathon session. As part of the agreement, private banks have reportedly agreed to voluntarily lower Greek debt held by 50%.
Fascinatingly, Scorpio is the zodiacal sign that governs debt and credit. Yesterday’s New Moon in Scorpio also favorably sextiled transforming Pluto, the modern day ruler of Scorpio, suggesting that some sort of deal might be struck.
Too, we have transiting, fortuitous Jupiter, in money-ruling Taurus, harmoniously trine to Pluto (exact on Friday), a very powerful aspect of transmutation that has a legacy for dramatically changing the landscape around us, especially as it pertains to shared resources (Pluto and Scorpio). As I mentioned yesterday, too, in my blog, Jupiter-Pluto aspects are often linked with mega-money transactions in the collective. (News story from wsj.com) CNBC is also reporting (mid-morning) that the Dow is on track today for its biggest one month percentage gain in the month of October.
Additionally, President Obama announced yesterday that he will authorize changes in federal policy to make college loans more affordable and easier to repay for up to 1.6 million borrowers. (From Washingtonpost.com)

The Moon in social Libra points us in the direction of relationships. However, Libra’s ruler, sweet Venus, is also making a square to erratic Uranus, the planet of rebellion, so affairs of the heart could be somewhat unsettled. Venus-Uranus is often chocked full of twists and turns. With that said, it may also be wise for us to subdue any of our “wilder impulses” (Uranus) for the time being.
We also have a dynamic, very fortuitous trine today between Jupiter, the planet of opportunity and abundance, in financial Taurus, and rejuvenating Pluto in influential Capricorn. A time for us to aim high and reach for the stars with respect to our professional or career goals. This is also an excellent time for purging and letting go of the past, especially ridding ourselves of self-limiting beliefs and doubts about our capabilities. Jupiter-Pluto is also associated with “mega-wealth” (billionaires) and “mega-power,” making this an ideal time to network with high-profile types who may be able to magically assist us in our ascent to the top.
Interestingly, President Obama is also holding a “bipartisan debt discussion” at the White House today with Republican and Democratic leaders. Pluto is the planet that governs debt. Perhaps Pluto’s alignment with lucky Jupiter, may finally bring about some forward progress on the matter of raising (Jupiter) the debt ceiling (Pluto) in the U.S.
Personal Note: Below is a link to “Buckman Film Academy,” which is my niece, Sarah Nagy’s, film school for children in Portland, Oregon. I thought you may want to check it out. Sarah (a Leo Sun) is also presently selling some of her original artwork on the site. You can go to her site and then click on the “artwork for sale” tab, at the top of the page, and see what she is offering. I think her artwork is very cool. I’m so proud of her, especially the wonderful work that she does with children.

The Feminine Moon continues in Maternal Cancer emphasizing our nurturing instincts. The Moon is also lovingly supported here by Relationship Venus conjoined the Empowering Sun in Healing Scorpio. With Venus-Sun, we have perfect, soothing energy for forging intimate connections with others. Our creativity is also elevated.
Venus, too, represents “things of beauty.” With Venus-Sun, we have more of a desire to be surrounded by beautiful objects. Therefore, it’s a good day to go shopping for items of personal adornment (clothes, jewelry, perfume) or for decorative accessories to jewel the home front, especially with the Moon now in Domestic Diva Cancer. Too, with Venus and the Sun deposited in transitioning Scorpio, it may be a time when we can snatch some treasures at estate sales or consignment shops.
Meanwhile, Energy planet Mars, representing our will and self-assertion, leaves Intense Scorpio for Visionary Sagittarius (2:48 am EDT), where it is in search of wisdom and higher knowledge. Mars in Sagittarius has a deep need for learning, and also an equal desire to don the soapbox and speak out on the issues of the day. With Mars in Sagittarius, we will want to passionately begin rallying behind the causes we believe in, and not be afraid to state our personal views and opinions. (Mars will be in Sagittarius until December 7th.)
Interestingly, the last time Mars entered Sagittarius, mid-November of 2008, is when U.S. President-elect Barack Obama resigned his Senate seat. Sagittarius is the sign of politics, and with Aggressor Mars’ entry into this sign, the upcoming U.S. midterm-elections, on tap for next week, are certain to become even more heated.
The intrinsic nature of Mars is “trail-blazing” and “pioneering,” so it could be, theoretically, that with Mars in Sagittarius, incumbents may have a harder time holding onto their seats. It could also mean that many of us will be more energized to get involved in politics, this election season, instead of sitting on the sidelines. Mars denotes our passions and tends to “fire us up.” On the shadow side, Mars in Sagittarius is more inclined to be impulsive, reckless, and scattered.
News Update: With Mars entering idealistic Sagittarius today the Minister of Defense in France announced that France and some other NATO nations may begin withdrawing troops from Afghanistan next year. Interestingly, Mars rules war and the military. Its departure from defensive, retaliatory Scorpio to Inspirational, Philosophical Sagittarius could be interpreted perhaps as more of a willingness to “tame the aggressive urge” out of hope that a “higher order of things” may prevail in the future. Sagittarius is more of a dreamy, visionary sign.

Famous Birthday Today:
American computer billionaire, Bill Gates, is 55 today! Gates has a Resourceful, Investigative Scorpio Sun, with a Pioneering Aries Moon (conjunct his Aries 10th house of Career), and a Nurturing Cancer Rising or Ascendant. Uranus, which denotes genius and originality, is conjunct Gate’s Ascendant, making him futuristic and a trend-setter, and also very brilliant and original. In his money house, Jupiter and Pluto are also exactly conjunct in Flashy, Regal Leo, a classic signature of “mega-money.” Happy Birthday, Bill!
This Date In History:
On October 28, 1636, Harvard University was founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Jupiter, which rules higher education and colleges, was conjunct Venus, in Analytical Virgo. Venus rules “what we love,” and combined with Scholarly Jupiter, there can be an “abundant love of learning.” Jupiter, the expansive principle, also rules the Academically-minded sign of Sagittarius (which Mars is entering today).
Also, Venus and Jupiter were in a harmonious trine to Renewing Pluto, in Anchoring Taurus, suggesting that “educational pursuits” could provide opportunity for “transformation and firm footing.” No telling how many doors have been opened, over the years, for individuals holding distinguished degrees from Harvard University.

“We are driven by five genetic needs: survival, love and belonging, power, freedom, and fun.” William Glasser.
There’s a feeling of liberation today as the Moon frolics through forward-thinking Sagittarius. We feel a little like the tiny mouse that has escaped the clutches of a big fat cat. We require space to roam around. We don’t want anyone cornering us.
With the Moon’s quinqunxes to Mercury and the Sun in slower-moving Taurus, we may feel a little awkward articulating or discussing more practical concerns. We need a little more time to weigh and digest in this area. Other than that, the energy of the day is very enthusiastic and free-flowing. We have a sextile to social Venus, a trine to energetic Mars.
The Sagittarius Moon gives us a good measure of forward momentum to handle the ongoing Saturn-Uranus opposition. What to keep, what to let go? Today we may feel more comfortable letting go. It’s not such a scary thing now. We are more hopeful. We reckon change might be a welcome dinner guest.

Event in history on this date: April 30, 1939 – NBC/ RCA 1st public TV demo with Franklin D. Roosevelt at opening of New York World’s Fair.
On that day, pioneering Mars in Capricorn, the sign which rules public officials (depicting Roosevelt here), was exactly harmoniously trine to Neptune in Virgo. Neptune rules pictures; Virgo reveals the inner workings of things. Perfect mix of energy for showcasing the magic of television.
Expansive Jupiter was also near the end of Neptune-ruled Pisces applying to a trine to transforming Pluto in Cancer, the sign of home and family. Whenever Jupiter travels through a sign it tends to create new opportunities for the areas ruled by that sign. Of course as we all know, the TV would eventually end up as a fixture in homes everywhere around the world, changing our daily lives and also dramatically (Pluto) impacting families.
