“Remember your connection with the cosmos. Remember your connection with the infinity and that remembrance will give you the freedom.” Amit Ray

We begin our Monday with thinker Mercury sextile to transcendent Neptune (exact at  8:19 am.) With logical Mercury and imaginative Neptune paired up now, our creative juices are potentially flowing more easily. A good day, perhaps, to tap into our inner artist. To wax poetic. We also may be sensing a clearer pipeline to the Divine. Or to our Source, Spirit. Whatever you want to call it. I know someone who fondly refers to the concept of a higher power as the “Big Enchilada.” I actually kinda like that description. It’s friendly. More approachable. Humorous. And laughter is something that is always very healing for the soul!

On Mercury-Neptune days, we may feel more of a need to simply be alone with our thoughts. To sift through our dreams, hopes, and wishes. We may also want to check in with our intuition to see what kind of guidance or teaching it may have for us now. See how our outer life is mirroring, or not mirroring, what’s going on inside of us. Find out whether or not we’re living with integrity.

The waxing Moon is also still in the last couple degrees of active Aries the Ram, in the morning, and it’s forming a conjunction to wacky, rebellious Uranus (10:56 am). Buckling down and putting our noses to the grindstone could be a bit trickier now. Later, the Moon will shift into steady, stable Taurus the Bull (1:31 pm) and remain in this calming sign until late Wednesday evening. Conforming is easier now. This also primes us to enjoy the finer things in life, over the next two days. Taurus represents our values and what holds meaning for us. It’s also a time for building or consolidating our energies.

“So few want to be rebels anymore. And out of those few, most, like myself, scare easily.” Ray Bradbury

*All times EST.

Hope you enjoy your day! Do your own Uranian thing! Be groovy and cool, man. 🙂

“Dreaming about being an actress, is more exciting then being one.” Marilyn Monroe

Very interesting day in the cosmos! Intellectual Mercury is conjunct serious, ‘Doubting Thomas’ Saturn in Capricorn, expansive Jupiter in Sadge is square fantasy Neptune in fishy Pisces, and the changeable, fluctuating Moon is in restless, action-packed Aries! Yours truly is also writing this blog literally in the dark, by flashlight only, as where I live we’re currently experiencing an ice storm and my house has no power or electricity. All I can say is, “Thank God for Wifi!

So, I’ll try to be brief and to the point here (communicator Mercury is, after all, conjunct stingy, ‘less is more’ Saturn!) – and before my laptop dies, which could be any minute! Today is a time when we may experience some measure of confusion or disillusionment, especially with respect to our dreams, ideals, beliefs, philosophy of life, and expectations (Jupiter-Neptune). It is also easier for us to be misled or hoodwinked, not just by others, but also by ourselves! In other words, it appears that nearly all the collective is operating somewhat in the dark now, metaphorically speaking, and not just moi! (I just love the synchronicity at play here, don’t you?) While Jupiter-Neptune can be seemingly inspiring to us, to some degree, it also does have a legacy of being associated with going overboard, being extravagant, mismanaging or wasting our resources, becoming addicted to pleasures or legal, illegal substances.

We’re actually very fortunate to have that practical, grounded Mercury-Saturn conjunction in aspect today, as a counter to the more disorienting, undermining Jupiter-Neptune energy, as it is probably one of the best planetary influences for providing us with a solid, hands-on reality check. Good for planning and organizing. Optimally, Mercury-Saturn symbolizes discernment, concentration, wisdom, disciplined thought. All qualities that we’re potentially more sorely in need of now as we attempt to navigate through all the fog!

On another level, it’s also possible with the Mercury-Saturn conjunction that we hear more serious news today that ends up putting us into a more reflective mode. On the shadow side, Mercury-Saturn is often linked with despair or depression. Also a scarcity, or fear-mongering mentality.

Anyway, Jupiter square Neptune will also return twice more this year in June and September. So the drama continues. Stay tuned! 🙂

“The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.” Rachel Carson.

Enjoy your Sunday! Good luck flying close to the ground today in your oh so pretty ruby red slippers! 🙂

Astrology January 12, 2019: Initiating Aries Moon Trines Venus, Conjuncts Mars

“Action expresses priorities.” – Mahatma Gandhi

It’s always good to have personal dreams. They’re often a big first step in creating our future. Wayne Dyer once said, “You’ll see it when you believe it!” But when the waxing, transiting Moon is deposited in initiating Aries, as it is today, it’s a time when we need to do more than just dream. Now we need to also consider taking action on some of those “castles in the air.” See how they fare. Test drive them down the Freeway of Love in our Pink Cadillac! After all, Aretha was an Aries! 🙂 Taking action on matters is also a positive way to develop greater self-confidence in our abilities as well as gain a sense of accomplishment.

Regarding today’s aspects, the Moon in Aries trines lovable Venus in optimistic Sagde this afternoon (at 2:20 pm). Quite a fun and expansive energy. Especially since Venus is now free of all the dark heavy Scorpio stuff. No more whips and chains! No more hanging out in caves! We probably will also need to allow ourselves more leg room to wander around now. Venus in Sagittarius likes to travel and check out new places. This could also make us very hungry for stimulating connections with others. The more diverse the pool of acquaintances, the better!

Later this evening (7:12 pm), the Moon conjuncts assertive Mars in Aries, the planetary ruler of the Aries Moon. Our emotions are potentially more charged now, and we may feel we have to defend ourselves now, no matter what. On the plus side, Moon-Mars can be great for tackling projects that require physical strength and stamina. Also, for working out in the gym.

“I don’t want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them.”  Oscar Wilde.

Hope you enjoy your day! Will I be seeing you on the road? 🙂

“You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them with courage, faith and hope.” Thomas Merton

Lines, Background, Fireworks, Star

Today’s Energy:

While most of us do require a fair amount of certainty in our lives – if only to root us more firmly in the ground – the notion of fresh, new, creative possibilities swirling around us can also be something that is very sustaining, if not mandatory, for our spirit to feel more fully alive. It’s like once we identify a target to aim for, something inside ourselves immediately starts to spring into action, and in this process, we can become instantly energized and transformed, even though we know that we probably still have a long way to go before we reach our destination.

Today’s cosmic lineup really has that kind of burgeoning flavor about it with the waning “adventurous” Aries Moon, still in its Full phase, and coming off of a rare, galvanizing lunar eclipse. Too, eclipses can often bring us the answers or confirmation that we’ve been seeking for our lives, which can be very energizing in itself. As mentioned in yesterday’s blog post, last night’s eclipse may especially shed insights on how to better navigate our relationships while also teaching us about how to be truer to ourselves.

The Moon’s square to transforming Pluto today (11:56 am) also helps us with some detox efforts – if we’re so inclined to go in that direction – and we may very well want to seriously consider that option now, so we can move about a whole lot lighter and more contentedly in our being. Of course, it’s up to each one of us to decide what might constitute “purification” for our soul, at the moment. It could be, for instance, something as simple as deleting backlogged email messages – which is something that I finally did the other day and felt so much better about. In my case, though, this wasn’t really a simple task as I purged over 800 emails!

Then, later on tonight, it’s back to full-speed, razzle dazzle when Luna meets up with spontaneous, non-conforming Uranus (9:30 pm), which is an opportunity for us, among other things, to break out of our mold and do something maybe quirky just for fun.

*All times EDT.

Questions for Today: What is the most “off the wall” thing that you could do that really appeals to you? What do you want others to give you, and what are you prepared to do for them, in return? If you could be known for just one thing in your lifetime, what would that be?

In the News: NASA officials say liquid water flows on Mars, boosting hopes for life there (CNN.com). Too, don’t you just love the synchronicity here with this announcement coming on the heels the Mars-ruled Aries Eclipse, with “pioneering” Aries often associated with significant breakthroughs or discoveries?

Dead End

Cosmic Quote of the Day: “Thinking will not overcome fear but action will.” W. Clement Stone

As we all know, over-thinking things can often land us smack on the road to nowhere  – a frustrating destination that will quite obligingly dead-end our dreams and crash our hopes, if we let it. Of course, knowing when to stop thinking and when to take action on something isn’t always easy to determine, especially when our fears intervene. Today, with thinker Mercury quinqunx cautious Saturn, we may be wrestling a bit with the “what-iffing” syndrome, or given to second-guessing ourselves. Fortunately, though, the Moon’s shift into action-oriented Aries (12:37 pm) helps us to get over these self-sabotaging hurdles, so that we can begin moving forward again at a confident pace. Benjamin Disraeli once remarked that action may not always bring happiness, but that there is no happiness without action.

Astrology February 22, 2015: Wrapping Things Up With The Aries Moon

“No one has a problem with the first mile of a journey. Even an infant could do fine for a while. But it isn’t the start that matters. It’s the finish line.” Julien Smith

COSMIC WATCH:

Marathon 1

Generally speaking, do you think we’re more wired for starting things, or for finishing things? It seems from my personal observation, at least, that most of us get quite excited about beginning something new, especially when it’s something that we’re really looking forward to. But, once the newness of the endeavor wears off, as it inevitably will, completing what we’ve started can quickly become an almost Herculean-sized task for us, in many instances. However, does it necessarily have to be this way, all the time? Or, maybe even, part of the time?  Probably, not. At least I would like to think that this is, indeed the case, as the other reality or scenario seems far too draining to me, way too rigid or limiting for the way that I perceive our inherent natures to be, which is ever-expansive and evolving.

Of course, in the end, it may all very well depend upon our own individual frame of mind about a matter, as well as our initial reason or motivation for undertaking a particular activity in the first place. I also think that it can appreciably help out our cause if we’re able to keep our end goal firmly in mind, for the entire duration of an activity, with that single-minded focus acting as a powerful glue that seals all our efforts together until we reach the finish line.

For instance, I’m trying to lower my cholesterol, so each morning I have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, which has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels in the body (I’ve also had good success with this strategy in the past). There are some mornings, of course, when I’m tempted to “fall off the wagon” and maybe have a sausage biscuit or a bagel with cream cheese, especially when I’m out and about. But, most of the time I’m able to pass these things up simply by keeping my attention on my objective for eating the oatmeal, in the first place: to have a lower cholesterol reading when I have my annual physical checkup, next August.

I’m mentioning all of this to you, today, because the Moon is now “void-of-course” in “pioneering” Aries, a time period when the traditional astrological wisdom would suggest is ideal for staying the course, tying up loose ends, finishing what we’ve started – versus initiating anything new. Then, once the Moon enters “practical” Taurus, later this evening (7:28 pm EST), it will have completed its V-O-C phase, and we then have the green light again to move forward with new endeavors.

It may also be kind of fun to casually observe ourselves, today, as we’re completing our projects, to see what’s coming up for us in the process. See what’s taking place with our energy levels. Are they going up, or down, as we finish things off? I have a sneaking suspicion that our energy levels will likely rise because we’re feeling a sense of accomplishment by bringing matters to a completion. Unfinished tasks, whether we’re aware of it or not, tend to weigh us down, or rob of us our energy, suggesting to me that completing things is really in our best interests, from a survival standpoint, because it’s a way for us to maximize or preserve our physical life force. Maybe that’s also why many of us feel guilty when we don’t finish things – we intuitively know that we’re sabotaging ourselves and putting our life force potentially at risk.

With that said, we probably don’t need to complete every single thing that we start, as that could very well be counterproductive, and highly impractical, as in the case of not wanting to finish something because we no longer have interest in it, or it no longer serves a worthy purpose for us. But things that are key to us, we should really make an effort to complete. Too, this not only helps us to live in integrity with ourselves, it also signals to our subconscious that we’re able to follow through with things, which is an important element if we’re asking the Universe to supply us with more abundance or prosperity, or better health, etc. in our lives. If we show the Powers That Be that we can be effective stewards of our resources, and wise in the allocation of our time and talent, it would seem that we would have a greater likelihood of having positive things flow to us, as there would be less resistance in our energy field to stem the flow of the incoming good.

Getting back to the astrology: We still also have the playful, romantic, highly creative “Venus-Mars” conjunction in effect, in Aries, which was exact, early this morning, so we may definitely want to save some time for pleasurable or fun pursuits, as well, today. This is a great influence for socializing, parties, shopping, fashion, or taking in the arts. Also, a perfect backdrop for the Oscars in Hollywood, tonight. This Venus-Mars influence actually sort of lingers around until mid-March, as these two planet will be staying in fairly close range with each other, until then. We may also want to check to see what house in our personal charts this configuration is occurring in as that will be the area in our lives where conditions may be easing off a bit, or where we may be seeing new opportunities for expressing our passion, or for enlisting the cooperation and support of others, as Mars-Venus energy can help us in strengthening our power of attraction for whatever it is that we desire. It can also help us connect more effortlessly (Venus) with other people.

Question for Today:  What do you think would be a real “game-changer” for you to complete or finish?

February 22 Birthdays: George Washington, Drew Barrymore, Steve Irwin, Ted Kennedy

“The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives and the dreams shall never die.” Ted Kennedy

astrology for february 20 2015, daring, horoscope february 20 2015, life in the fast lane, Moon in Aries, Venus enters Aries February 20 2015

“I may be going nowhere, but what a ride.” Shaun Hick

COSMIC WATCH:

Love

Relationship Venus races into “spontaneous” Aries, today, following the lead set by action-oriented Mars, yesterday. The emotional Moon also hooks up with this energetic, dynamic duo in Aries, later this evening. Ideally, this supercharged lineup inspires us to seek out newness, freshness in our lives now, perhaps in some marvelous, impromptu way, with Aries the official sign of new beginnings. How we individually decide to go about this, of course, is entirely up to us. It may also depend on how eager we are for things to be different, or changed around us.

Too, it could be that Venus in Aries primes us to be more direct or assertive in our relationships, for the next few weeks. More willing to take chances with our pulsating, tender heart, which might simply translate into our being more flirty, more daring to make the first move with someone we’ve perhaps just met. That kind of forward behavior, in itself, can also be akin to an act of courage for some of us not accustomed to acting in such an outgoing manner. Or, for those of us in existing relationships, we may want to do something out of the ordinary, that will basically spice them up a bit. Of course, I’m sure we all have our own cache of intriguing ideas on how this could all ravenously play out!

Venus in Aries is also equated with the concept of self-love, which, at its finest, allows us to care for our self as we would a good friend, with unconditional support and only the noblest of intentions for their welfare. Even in the Bible, with the ten commandments, we are commanded to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Done right, self-love can be a powerful game-changer, in the best possible way.

One more thing, on the general topic of Aries. I think that there’s always been something very alluring, very appealing to us about living life in the fast lane (i.e. the “Aries” lane). Maybe it’s something primal inside of us that craves, gets rejuvenated, by the notion of speed, movement. The flirt with danger. I also think that we all share a common fear or worry of coming to the end of our lives and regretting that we did not take enough risks or chances with them, even though intuitively we may have known all along, or at least have strongly suspected, that we were made or wired for greatness, which normally precludes an ample amount of risk-taking on our part. The stellium in “self-made” Aries now is a good time to nudge ourselves forward, along that risk continuum. We also need to pay really close attention to what comes up for us in the process. Too, what I often find most interesting about moving beyond our comfort zone is that things often don’t pan out quite the way that we thought they would in our head, especially regarding the scary things that we thought might happen to us, if we took certain actions. It seems that a lot of our fears are in vain, and a real drain on our brain. The super cool thing about Aries energy, though, is that it challenges us to go eye to eye with whatever is holding us down. And that challenge intrigues us, although at the same time, it may be equally as daunting. Part of the paradox of life, I guess. 🙂

“When you’re bold, some people will think you’re crazy but it’s more insane to be timid” Constance Friday.

“Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.” Abraham Lincoln

COSMIC WATCH:

This Election Day finds the Moon in “take charge” Aries, forming an early morning square with “purging” Pluto (9:08 am) and a mid-day conjunction with “rebellious” Uranus (12:29 pm), the planet of change and the unexpected. Also, yesterday’s “transformative” Sun-Pluto sextile, is still in play. All of these aspects seem to be  suggesting that a “revamping” of the political landscape, is in the works. The lunar aspects, today, are also setting into motion the ongoing, longer-term “Uranus-Pluto square,” which will be exact, once more, in early December.

On a personal level, we may be needing to take some kind of action, today, that “frees our spirit.” It would also be good to be involved with a project in which we can place our personal stamp. In general, the Aries Moon tends to make us more fully engaged, in our endeavors, and also more vested in the outcomes. It can also invoke our competitive nature. “You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do.” Carl Jung

astrology for september 11 2014, being rewarded for our efforts, horoscope september 11 2014, Moon in Aries, planning, Sun sextile Saturn

“Self-respect is the root of discipline: The sense of dignity grows with the ability to say no to oneself.” Abraham Joshua Heschel

COSMIC WATCH:

The Moon continues in “entrepreneurial” Aries, until tonight, so risk-taking is still very much on our radar today. The Virgo Sun’s sextile to “disciplined” Saturn in Scorpio (11:03 am EDT) is also very supportive here because not only does it inspire us to want to do and be our best, it can also help us to be much more calculating and strategic with the application of our energies. Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower once said: “In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.” Likewise, today’s “do battle” Aries Moon is potentially elevated by the “due diligence” mindset of Sun-Saturn.

Also, this is perhaps a wonderful time to reflect upon our own inner well of accumulated wisdom, based upon our own practical experience (Saturn) on the planet. Oprah Winfrey often uses the phrase “what I know for sure.” Sun-Saturn epitomizes that same sentiment – it is “what we know for sure” about life. Too, we could also maybe put a little of what we know into practice now by perhaps offering to play a mentoring role to somebody else. Or, by allowing another to assume that same role with us. Also, by sharing our stories and personal experiences with each other, we’re not only potentially forging a stronger, more intimate connecting link between us, we’re also able to see, with greater clarity, just how far we’ve come on our journey – as well as what our next steps, should likely be.

“The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” George Orwell.

Saturn symbolizes older persons, grandparents, authority / father figures; also customs and tradition. It is also widely regarded as the “Lord of Karma.”

Question for Today: What is a risk you must take?

“I suppose leadership at one time meant muscles; but today it means getting along with people.” Mahatma Ghandi

COSMIC WATCH:

With the Moon passing through “action-oriented” Aries today, and igniting the entire Cardinal Grand Cross, this is an excellent time for proceeding at full throttle with pivotal projects that we have perhaps had on the back burner, for a while, but still feel passionate about.

Intellectual Mercury’s conjunction with sweet Venus in “ambitious” Capricorn (5:02 pm EST) also helps to foster a spirit of cooperation in business and the workplace, as well as endowing us with a greater appreciation of love and beauty in general. “I don’t think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains.” Anne Frank

Famous January 7 Birthdays: Nicolas Cage, William Peter Blatty, Kenny Loggins.“Procrastination is what we often call ‘resistance.’” William Peter Blatty

Enjoy your Tuesday!
