Astrology has been a hobby of mine since childhood. I am pretty much self-taught in the subject. Much of what I have learned on the topic has come from firsthand observations with myself and others. I especially like astrology’s connection to nature. I think the answers to many of life’s mysteries and challenges can seemingly be discovered or gleaned by observing, and reflecting upon, the recurring, natural cycles around us. Albert Einstein once said, “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
Another thing that I appreciate about astrology is that its language is very rich in metaphors and archetypal meaning for our lives. The positions of the planets at the time and place of a person’s birth are viewed as correlating to the chief archetypal patterns of that person’s life and character. Too, while astrological information can be applied in various ways, I mainly use it as a tool for greater self-awareness. I also regard it as a very spiritual study, believing that it can potentially shed light on our higher purpose on Earth.
Academically, I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and have also been formally trained in life coaching. I started blogging here on astrology on November 30, 2009 mainly as a form of self-expression.
