“It will never rain roses: when we want to have more roses, we must plant more roses.” George Eliot
Luna kicks off our Monday in restless, enterprising Aries, perhaps inspiring us to take swift action on matters that (ideally) net immediate results. The Aries Moon is typically best for attending to short-term projects. With Luna also entering her Waxing Crescent Phase, mid-morning (10:40 am), the path toward illumination is really just beginning to build, so this is not the best time for massive leaps forward but rather for focusing on taking smaller action steps that can help to foster more faith and positivity in our capabilities over time. (Too, Mercury is still retrograde!)
There’s also an opportunity for empowering collaboration or networking with others on shared goals/shared purposes as the energetic Aries Moon forms several sextiles to a stellium of planets in collective-ruling Aquarius, including harmonizing Venus, which is also trining the futuristic North Node in Gemini (12:09 am). Too, it’s possible with the Venus-North Node alignment that certain people could appear on our path today who are very pivotal/instrumental to our future.

On This Day in History: On February 15, 2005, “YouTube” the online video-sharing platform is launched in the United States. It was created by three individuals working at Paypal (Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawad Karim). The company’s original (more humble) headquarters was above a pizzeria and Japanese restaurant in San Mateo, California. In November of 2006, Google bought YouTube for a reported 1.6 billion dollars. Presently, it is estimated that nearly 5 billion videos are watched daily on the site. (Wikipedia)
Astrologically, when YouTube launched, artistic Venus and imaginative Neptune were exactly conjunct in tech-ruling, digitally-minded Aquarius (at 15 degrees), potentially boding well for brand new creative endeavors. (Neptune also governs films, visual images, and videos.) Enterprising Mars was also in entrepreneurial Capricorn and exactly sextile to Uranus in Pisces, an aspect favoring new approaches or innovative strategies.
Enjoy your Monday. Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.

We start out our Monday with waxing Luna still afloat in the mystical waters of Pisces, decidedly adding an “otherworld” feel to the day. Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, is also having its annual conjunction with Venus (ruler of love, beauty, art, and values), an alignment that’s occurring at 16 degrees of Pisces (at 3:00 pm).
With sweet Venus and transpersonal Neptune conjoined in the heavens, our capacity to display compassion or to show kindness or forgiveness to others is potentially enhanced. There can also be a deep yearning for an ideal or more selfless kind of love, as well as more of a general willingness to see others now in the best possible light, or to at least give them, the benefit of the doubt. On the shadow side, this influence can also make us more emotionally vulnerable, which could lead to, among other things, our being taken advantage of or deceived (including falling prey to self-deception).
On another level, Venus-Neptune energy is excellent for any creative endeavors, largely because “visionary” Neptune, the ruler of our imagination, is able to naturally tune into the non-physical realm with ease, thereby allowing artistic Venus to transmute that experience into actual physical form. “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” Michelangelo

Tarot Card For The Day:
It’s “The Lovers” card, which often comes up when we have choices to make about our relationships. Too, sometimes when this card appears, there’s an element of self-sacrifice (Neptune) attached to those choices. In general, The Lovers suggests a desire to want to be involved in either a relationship or something else that is meaningful, that allows a person a chance to get outside of themselves, to connect to something larger.
Also, when I was shuffling the cards, “The World” card fell out of the deck twice, along with the Ace of Swords. The World card is the very last of the Major Arcana cards (in the Tarot) and signifies the ending of a cycle. It also represents kind of a “pause period” before significant new action is undertaken. The World card can also foster an acceptance of life as it is, with all its many ups and downs. The Ace of Swords also suggests that we have good mental clarity at our disposal today (Mercury in Aquarius), as well as potential receptivity to incorporating, advancing, or entertaining new ideas.
Numerology For The Day:
The “27th” day of January suggests a focus on humanitarian issues, compassion, as well as a capacity to extend tolerance towards those who hold beliefs perhaps different from our own. (Moon in Pisces).
Born On This Day: Musician and composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in 1756 (d. in 1791). Mozart is quoted as saying: Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.

Romantic and business relationships have a chance to solidify today and we may also feel that our hopes and wishes are finally achievable as love goddess, Venus, forms a flowing, creative trine with stabilizing Saturn and also a conjunction with dreamy, idealistic Neptune. Intellectual Mercury is also making its annual conjunction with probing Pluto helping to intensify and focus our thinking. The Mercury-Pluto aspect additionally gives us a chance to don our detective hat and possibly solve or put to rest some long-standing riddles. Too, the Moon is in a supportive role in analytical Virgo the entire day.

“Seduction is always more singular and sublime than sex and it commands the higher price.”Jean Baudrillard
The Moon continues in “grounded” Capricorn urging us to apply “common sense” to our feelings and emotions. Although, the Moon’s monthly conjunction to “controlling” Pluto (11:49 am EDT) could pose a few challenges for us if we venture outside of our boundaries and try to exert too much pressure or influence on others.
This is an excellent “purge” aspect, though, so venting could be a good thing now, if done in a mindful fashion that does not unduly alienate or involve mud-slinging or the re-opening of old, hurtful wounds. Pluto is associated with the subconscious and under its activated ray, things buried deep inside of us tend to rise to the surface for review.
Also, it’s a great time to recycle or declutter on the home front or at the office. Perhaps one of the premier times of the month to do so. On the other hand, treasure-hunters may want to do some antiquing, as Moon-Pluto can be favorable for unearthing “rare jewels.”
Connection queen Venus also forms a tense, 135-degree aspect to “withholding” Saturn in partnership Libra (5:04 pm EDT). We may feel a little more cut off or blocked in expressing our feelings. Saturn sometimes coincides with giving a voice to our fears.
However, this low feeling may not linger too long, as we also have love maven Venus conjuncting magical Neptune (9:40 pm EDT), a time when we are more inclined to “idealize love.” Putting our lover on a pedestal or making great “sacrifices” for the sake of love, may be part of our mindset now, as Venus-Neptune can be a very seductive, alluring influence. We do need to be mindful of the fact, though, that “all that glitters” may not be gold. Because, on the shadow side, “spell-binding” Venus-Neptune can be deceptive. We are also more emotionally vulnerable now.
Also, new people that come into our lives may be on a “different wavelength” from us. This influence has been known to produce some rather “odd pairings.”
Too, with Neptune symbolizing our link to the divine, Venus-Neptune, at the highest levels, can equate to “selfless love,” or an ability for demonstrating deep compassion and sensitivity with others. Therefore, it’s an excellent time to do charitable work or to dole out good deeds. It is also a very creative influence, perfect for any artistic renderings or performances, including dancing, as Neptune rules the feet.
Venus also moves into Neptune-ruled Pisces tomorrow, so today is sort of a “test-run” for possible things to come. Venus stays in Pisces until April 21. (Refer to my Venus in Pisces blog post for more details.)

On October 20, 1968, former “First Lady”Jackie Kennedy weds wealthy Greek shipping magnate, Aristotle Onassis. Aristotle’s private island “Skorpios” in the Ionian Sea is the site for this historic event.
In Jackie’s and Aristotle’s “wedding chart” that day (time unknown for the service), Venus, the Goddess of Love and Marriage, was in Possessive Scorpio and in an “out-of-sign” sextile to Non-conforming Uranus in Marital Libra. When Venus is aligned with Uranus we often see “unusual pairings” taking place. Venus-Uranus is often “non-traditional” and tends to bring about alliances between very different kinds of persons. When Frank Sinatra met Mia Farrow, for instance, he had Venus-Uranus prominent in his chart. Venus-Uranus craves excitement and embraces relationships that are “out of the norm.” Additionally, Paul McCartney met John Lennon when Venus-Uranus was exact in the heavens. It can be an aspect of “sudden attraction.”
Interestingly, Jupiter, the traditional planet of “good fortune and abundance,” was also in a tight conjunction to Pluto. Pluto is associated with “mega-money,” especially when aligned with “lucky” and “expansive” Jupiter. Jupiter and Pluto were in Practical, Dutiful Virgo and harmonious to Sea-Faring Neptune in the sign of Joint Resources Scorpio (Aristotle’s wealth was from Neptunian-ruled shipping). It has been reported that a main reason Jackie married Aristotle was out of a need for privacy and security for her children, which would fit the practical, stabilizing Virgo-Scorpio energy.
Venus, at 29 degrees of Scorpio, was also separating from a Glamourizing, Idealistic conjunction with Neptune at 25 of Scorpio. With Venus-Neptune, there can be a lot of fantasy and make-believe at the core of the relationship, as Neptune is the ruler of our imagination and dreams. Venus-Neptune relationships are often hard to “see clearly,” as Neptune characteristically looks at romance through “rose-colored glasses.” Venus-Neptune tends to “idolize the partner,” sees him or her as a “savior.” Venus-Neptune relationships can sometimes contain “martyrdom” elements to them as well, as Neptune often denotes ego-denying experiences.
Also, in Jackie’s case, Venus-Neptune literally symbolized a “romance involving aspects of the sea,” as Aristotle made his livelihood from the sea.
Venus additionally was at an “anaretic degree” of Scorpio (meaning the last degree of a sign), which can signal a “sense of urgency” to the relationship and romance. (Too, in a few years, Jackie would later end up a “widow,” with Scorpio the sign of “transition.”)
Jackie, who was a proud, charismatic Leo with a Private Scorpio rising and an Adventurous Aries Moon, also had in her personal horoscope then, Stabilizing Saturn transiting at 21 degrees of Libra exactly trine to her natal Venus at 21 degrees of Gemini. Venus also rules her 7th house of marriage. With Venus-Saturn, we often forge relationships with older individuals (which Saturn denotes) and often these relationships are based on security needs. Venus not only rules relationships it also rules money. Saturn was also getting ready to move into Jackie’s twelfth house of seclusion, a period when we often seek a “personal retreat” from the outside world.
Aristotle, an Ambitious Capricorn with a Travel-Happy Sagittarius Moon, had transiting Jupiter and Pluto in Virgo exactly trine to his natal Venus in Capricorn in his horoscope when he married Jackie. Venus-Pluto can represent a “transforming passion” in our lives, and it sometimes synonymous with “bringing us our soulmate.” (Pluto denotes past lives.)

The Night Owl Moon switches from Mystic Guru Pisces to Race Car Driver Aries (11:24 am EDT) at which time we may want to proceed warp-speed ahead with our agendas. The Aries Moon is all about taking action, conquering new frontiers. Needless to say, today is not the time to be a cozy little “couch potato,” sitting around watching Oprah. But rather a time to “go out and do!” Later on, though, we may need to avoid power struggles with the Moon’s square to Controlling Pluto (5:39 pm EDT).
Mental Mercury, governing our thoughts and ideas, also joins Venus and Mars in Probing Scorpio for a three-week run. With Mercury in Scorpio, our thinking becomes deeper as we set about solving some of life’s greatest mysteries. Scorpio is the sign of the zodiac that deals with life, death, and rebirth issues. Mercury in Scorpio is keenly able to solve long-standing riddles and cleverly figure out “who dunnit plots.” We may also begin to get real clarity on those issues in our lives that may have been perplexing us for a while.
Mercury in Scorpio’s style tends to be “all or nothing.” When it examines something, it either gives it its full undivided attention or neglects it altogether.
Pioneering Mars in Resourceful Scorpio is also harmoniously trine Philosophical Jupiter in Pisces. This is, classically, a powerhouse aspect for social, religious, and political activism. We can make notable progress toward our goals and dreams today, and if there is something that we really “believe in,” this is the time to “go for it,” especially with the Moon in adventurous Aries.
The Sun in Relationship Libra is also in a more challenging quinqunx aspect to Quirky Uranus in Pisces. We could encounter some skeptics, or otherwise “oddball types” (Uranus) who want us to justify our actions to them. However, we shouldn’t let others derail or intimidate us now. Especially with Mars trine to Jupiter, “nothing’s gonna stop us now!”
Activities favored today: new beginnings, rebirth and renewal efforts, medical and scientific research, wills and estate matters, psychic development, spying and espionage, investigation, reviewing insurance matters, intimate sexual encounters, holistic healing, religion, social and political activism, treasure-hunting.
