With the waxing Moon in quality-control Virgo, all day, and inconjunct to the pioneering Aries Sun (8:12 pm), today appears to be an excellent time to put on our stylish thinking caps and perhaps try to find some new solutions, or at least maybe effective strategies, for dealing with some of the more puzzling problems or issues that we maybe have been sweeping under the proverbial rug for a while. We also have an extra cognitive edge now with Mars, the ruler of the Aries Sun, simultaneously transiting through innovative, breakthrough Aquarius. Also, expansive Jupiter is still tightly conjunct investigative Pluto, in pragmatic Capricorn, a very intense transformational energy that, ideally, allows us to zero-in to the core of things to figure out exactly what’s needed to remedy or correct situations, with Pluto symbolizing, among other things, regenerative healing and X-ray vision.

While it may be a bit of stretch, during these more challenging times, to envision jolly Santa on his sleigh descending upon us with a giant bag of goodies, nevertheless we still might be treated to the next best thing today via the compassionate Pisces Sun’s sextile to philanthropical Jupiter, the planet that is often billed as the “Cosmic Santa” (8:27 am).
This forward-thrusting Sun-Jupiter aspect ideally inspires us to envision and plan for a brighter tomorrow, in part, by generously sowing seeds of hope or encouragement, or by diligently exercising or adhering to our faith in ourselves or a higher power. Jupiter rules the visionary sign of Sagittarius, which is archetypally represented by the archer, who enthusiastically aims his bow and arrow at the stars.
This more inclusive Sun-Jupiter energy can also motivate us to collaborate or to work more closely together to achieve common goals for the benefit of all. The fact that Jupiter is also in pragmatic Capricorn is also excellent for crafting responses or solutions now that effectively deal with real-world concerns or needs. Too, Jupiter is applying to a conjunction with intense Pluto, possibly highlighting the need for taking more urgent or extreme measures now to preserve or safeguard our interests. Jupiter-Pluto can also symbolize the harnessing or mobilizing of immense forces/resources to manage situations.

The Night Owl Moon switches from Mystic Guru Pisces to Race Car Driver Aries (11:24 am EDT) at which time we may want to proceed warp-speed ahead with our agendas. The Aries Moon is all about taking action, conquering new frontiers. Needless to say, today is not the time to be a cozy little “couch potato,” sitting around watching Oprah. With Mercury in Scorpio, our thinking becomes deeper as we set about solving some of life’s greatest mysteries. Scorpio is the sign of the zodiac that deals with life, death, and rebirth issues. Mercury in Scorpio is keenly able to solve long-standing riddles and cleverly figure out “who dunnit plots.” We may also begin to get real clarity on those issues in our lives that may have been perplexing us for a while.

On October 20, 1968, former “First Lady”Jackie Kennedy weds wealthy Greek shipping magnate, Aristotle Onassis. Aristotle’s private island “Skorpios” in the Ionian Sea is the site for this historic event.
In Jackie’s and Aristotle’s “wedding chart” that day (time unknown for the service), Venus, the Goddess of Love and Marriage, was in Possessive Scorpio and in an “out-of-sign” sextile to Non-conforming Uranus in Marital Libra. When Venus is aligned with Uranus we often see “unusual pairings” taking place. Venus-Uranus is often “non-traditional” and tends to bring about alliances between very different kinds of persons. Jupiter and Pluto were in Practical, Dutiful Virgo and harmonious to Sea-Faring Neptune in the sign of Joint Resources Scorpio (Aristotle’s wealth was from Neptunian-ruled shipping). It has been reported that a main reason Jackie married Aristotle was out of a need for privacy and security for her children, which would fit the practical, stabilizing Virgo-Scorpio energy.
Venus, at 29 degrees of Scorpio, was also separating from a Glamourizing, Idealistic conjunction with Neptune at 25 of Scorpio. With Venus-Neptune, there can be a lot of fantasy and make-believe at the core of the relationship, as Neptune is the ruler of our imagination and dreams.
