Full Moon in Scorpio May 10 2017, horoscope may 10 2017, intimacy, Mercury conjunct Uranus, President Trump's firing of James Comey, security, stabiity, surprising news

“Most people are slow to champion love because they fear the transformation it brings into their lives. And make no mistake about it: love does take over and transform the schemes and operations of our egos in a very mighty way.” AberJhani

Cosmic Weather: Mercury conjuncts Uranus in spontaneous Aries (1:19 am). This quickening influence speeds up our thought processes! It’s associated with sudden decision-making. There’s more of a tendency to seek out-of-the-ordinary solutions to problems now. It can be a highly creative or inventive time for us, intellectually, as we are more willing to entertain different viewpoints and perspectives. We are also less concerned now with what other people think about us. Anytime Mercury and Uranus conjoin, there’s also a potential for surprising or startling twists in communications (Mercury) due to the more erratic and experimental nature of Uranus (President Trump’s firing of James Comey FBI Director!). On the shadow side, this configuration can make us mentally restless and rebellious and more rash and impulsive in our decisions.

Full Moon in Passionate Scorpio (5:42 pm). We are seeking to balance our need for security or stability (Sun in Taurus) with our desire for shared intimacy with others (Moon in opposing Scorpio). Because of the illuminating nature of a Full Moon, we may also discover what it is that may be preventing us from reaching this objective, and what to do about it. The Moon’s sextile to perceptive Pluto, the modern-day ruler of Scorpio, can also offers us deeper insights into the emotional needs of others. On another level, the Scorpio Full Moon can trigger sweeping shifts in power, partly because we are not afraid to act on our desires and go after what it is that we want.

“Flying starts from the ground. The more grounded you are, the higher you fly.” J.R. Rim

Sun Enters Taurus: The Sun, the key principle of vital energy that signifies the conscious ego and self-directedness, shifts out of pioneering Aries into sustaining Taurus today (5:27 pm EDT), where it will hang out patiently for the next thirty days. While the Sun is deposited in earthy Taurus we anchor and narrow our range of interests and focus on making our lives more safe and secure. Venus-ruled Taurus governs money, possessions, and our values. The keywords for this sign are “I have.”

Among the things that we may want to reflect upon now is how our personal identity is often closely intertwined with what we have or own. For instance, a question that we might want to ask of ourselves is, “Who are we really, apart from all our stuff?” We may also want to consider how we characteristically manage our resources, and how that style of stewardship may be helping or hurting us.

“Money is an amazing teacher: What you choose to do with your money shows whether you are truly powerful or powerless.” Suze Orman

“Flying starts from the ground. The more grounded you are, the higher you fly.” J. R. Rim

Moon, Cypress, Mountains, Moonrise

Today’s Energy:

Today’s illuminating Full Moon in “grounded” Taurus (8:05 am) is a chance for us to become more aware of what it is that we need to adhere to, or how it is that we need to be, in order to psychologically feel safer or more secure in the world. Conversely, since this is a Full Moon, there may also be insights now regarding what experiences that we may need to release or let go of, so that we will be better able to accommodate a new order, into our lives.

Venus-ruled Taurus symbolizes what we value or appreciate; or what we want to attract.  It is also in the practical experiences of this sign that we learn how to manage or care for our personal resources, including learning how to handle our money and possessions. When I think about Taurus, too, I always think of a quote by Gloria Steinem in which she says (paraphrasing her now) that “our checkbook stubs always reflect our true values.”

Also, since Taurus rules the Earth, communing with nature is perhaps an excellent way for us to feel more grounded or centered inside our bodies now. The late Scottish naturalist and author, John Muir, once said that the “clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” Generally, any experiences that indulge or engage our physical senses are highly favored now.

With this Taurus Full Moon, the Sun, which symbolizes our ego, is in the opposing sign of Scorpio, meaning that we are also seeking to integrate or balance other people’s values with our own now (the Scorpio experience), as well as learning how to share what we have with others.

Too, Since Taurus and Scorpio are both fixed signs, there can be more awareness of our own “inner resistance” to letting go of such things as our own stubbornness, stinginess, or possessiveness, traits which both Taurus and Scorpio archetypally represent, on the shadow side. We may also want to ponder, now, how holding onto these sorts of more grasping behaviors may be working to preserve the status quo, in our lives, instead of allowing us to move along more freely into the bigger, more fluid world of our dreams.

Instructive Saturn, in “philosophical” Sagittarius, is also quinqunx this lunation suggesting that our beliefs (Sagittarius) and values (Taurus) may need to be shifted around or reconciled in some manner.  Too, it could be, that maybe we are coming to the realization that our actual lives, in some way, do not really reflect what we say that we believe in.

On the other hand, we may discover that our beliefs, or the stories that we tell ourselves about ourselves and the nature of the world, are too self-limiting, and that they may need to be revamped because they are holding us back in various ways, including possibly even interfering with our ability to prosper or experience a sense of abundance in our lives.

Saturn also specifically represents our fears and guilt, and it could be that we are being challenged now to face some of what makes us afraid or fearful, especially with respect to our security or survival needs. We may also be learning lessons in how to be more responsible (Saturn) in the management of our resources (Taurus), so that what we have accrued, or are accruing, will be able to serve us over the long haul. Money guru Suze Orman says that the only way that we will ever take control of our financial life is to “dig deep and fix the root problem.”

Fortunately, we also have a stellium of planets in “corrective” Virgo now (Mars, Venus, and Jupiter), which can make us very resourceful in figuring out practical, common-sense solutions to our issues.

Transcendent Neptune is also sextiling this lunation, potentially empowering us with a faith in “unseen forces.” This influence can also serve to invoke our compassion, for both ourselves and others.

Venus in Virgo, the ruler of this Taurus Full Moon, is quinqunx “unconventional” Uranus in Aries, an influence that can make us seek out novel pleasures, as well as our wanting, perhaps, to have more wiggle room in relationships. This aspect could also bring up some questions regarding how we can serve others (Virgo), while still being true to ourselves (Aries). “I don’t want my life to be defined by what is etched on a tombstone. I want it to be defined by what is etched in the lives and hearts of those I’ve touched.” Steve Maraboli.

Questions for Today: How do you need to live in order to thrive? What comes up for you when you think of the word ‘money?” How would you characterize your relationship with the Earth? What have you learned about your own life by observing nature?

In the News:  Just a few hours before the Full Moon in Taurus, Congress and the White House reach a tentative budget deal (Taurus) and decide to raise the debt ceiling (Scorpio). This deal, if it’s passed, would represent a major breakthrough after years of gridlock in Congress, especially on fiscal issues. (NYtimes.com).

Full Moon Blessings to you!

astrology for february 24 2015, horoscope for february 24 2015, money, relationships, security, shoring things up

“Security in a relationship lies neither in looking back to what it was, nor forward to what it might be, but living in the present and accepting it as it is now.” Anne Morrow Lindbergh

COSMIC WATCH:

With “social” Venus trining “anchoring” Saturn, today (9:58 am EST), shoring up our support systems may be more on our radar now, especially, perhaps, in the two big areas that are ruled by Venus: money and relationships. Too, we all know how these two realms often are closely intertwined with each other, with “money issues” frequently cited as the main reason many couples divorce, or split up. I know, too, in the past, I’ve often heard money guru Suze Orman say that, once we get our finances in order, everything else will fall into place. On a financial level, Venus trine Saturn favors budgeting, investment analysis, buying long-term possessions, obtaining backing. Relationship-wise, it tends to coincide with fostering commitments, spelling out duties in partnerships.

On another level, Venus in “pioneering” Aries may also inspire us to put something creative into the ether that we personally identify with, with the Saturn trine, ideally, helping us to be successful in this area.

The Moon is void-of-course in “material” Taurus all day, until 11:54 pm EST, when it shifts into “curious” Gemini.

“Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.” Epictetus

Question for Today: What gives you more of a feeling of safety: money or love?

COSMIC WATCH:

There’s a willingness to tackle difficult issues this morning with the intellectual Gemini Moon’s harmonious trine to disciplined Saturn in relationship Libra (11:36 am EDT). This aspect supports team efforts, diplomacy, and is excellent for seeking out wise counsel. On the whole, Moon-Saturn tends to stabilize our affairs as Saturn symbolizes the urge for security.

“The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability.” Henry Ford

Famous Birthdays: Mick Jagger turns 68 today! In his natal horoscope, Mick has abundant Jupiter ( talent and gifts) exactly conjunct transforming Pluto in theatrical Leo. Jupiter-Pluto suggests a plethora of talent especially in creative Leo. Pluto also rules the masses and his music and stage performances have rendered him an iconic figure.

Too, Pluto governs one’s personal sense of destiny and when it’s ray is activated in our charts we tend to feel that we have a “special mission to perform.” This is the case even with transits of Pluto to important points in our charts. Of course, Mick must surely feel that it was his “destiny” to be a rock star, don’t you think? He also has his Sun, Mercury and Mars near his Jupiter-Pluto conjunction, a powerful stellium in “performer Leo.”

Do you feel that you are living out your “true destiny?”

“Lose your dreams and you might lose your mind.” Mick Jagger

Enjoy your Tuesday! Happy birthday, Mick! We love you!

“Safe upon the solid rock the ugly houses stand: Come and see my shining palace built upon the sand!” Edna St. Vincent Millay.

The Moon enters nesting Cancer at 7:39 am EDT accenting home and family matters. Cancerian energy is nurturing and protective and is sometimes afraid of letting go or venturing outside of perceived comfort zones. If instead of taking giant leaps forward today, some of us may wish to begin our respective journeys with baby steps, that’s quite alright. What’s most important, is that we make that first step. Sometimes, too, when we proceed more tentatively, we become aware of meaningful realities that we never even knew existed.

The Sun is finishing up its annual romp in Aries today.  It’s perhaps a little pooped, anyway, getting ready to head into consolidating Taurus.  So much recent focus on self-discovery and trailblazing. The Sun’s quinqunx to Saturn in Virgo  also has Saturn asking the Sun now for a full acccounting of  what he has gleaned in recent weeks.  He is anxious for the Sun to perfect himself and his skills.

“This is the very perfection of a man, to find out his own imperfections.” Saint Augustine.

Memorable event in history on this date: April 19, 2005 – Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, becomes the 265th Pope. The Cardinal (b. 4/16/27) had the transiting and transforming Pluto in Sagittarius exactly conjoined his 10th house of career when he became Pope. Pluto often delivers to us those life-altering experiences and circumstances that can only be described as our destiny. Pluto also rules power and control and Pluto’s alignment on his 10th house conferred upon him the ultimate power as head of the Catholic church. The sign of Sagittarius is on the Cardinal’s career house in his birth chart, originally suggesting a possible life path in religion, as Sagittarius rules traditional religion. The Pope also has several other aspects in his horoscope that reiterate a more spiritually focused undertaking for this life.

Peace and love, everyone.  Enjoy your Monday!

“If I don’t get some shelter, Oh yeah, I’m gonna fade away.” Mick Jagger, Keith Richards songwriters, Gimme Shelter lyrics

The Moon’s passage through security-oriented Cancer inclines us to focus more on our roots, our homes, and the familial ties that bind us, so as to feel a greater sense of psychological safety and shelter.

Cancer is a very emotional and nurturing sign.  As a result, we may be more empathetic and sensitized to the human drama around us today.  Our sensory perceptions may be heightened. Our feelings, perhaps, more easily bruised. We may be more fearful of rejection, especially with the goodly supply of sensitive and delicate Pisces planets also in our arsenal now.

Wonderful planetary aspects prevail for any of our endeavors that call for the utilization of our own personal creativity and imagination. Cancer is ruled by the Moon and the Moon plays a big factor in our imaginative abilities.  Heart-felt writing is particularly favored today.  Or, with Cancer being the sign of the zodiac that also rules food, we may want to take that extra measure of creativity into the kitchen and experiment with different recipes or perhaps shop for more exotic types of food.

Romance can be mildly transforming and also hold a few pleasant surprises for us, but we must also be careful not to be too pushy with the object of our affections. That strategy could definitely backfire on us now.

Famous persons born this day: George Harrison, Steve Jobs, Joe Lieberman, Louise Woodward

Peace and love everyone.  Enjoy your day!

“Security is the chief enemy of mortals.” – William Shakespeare.“

The pace slows down with the Moon entering the stabilizing, steady, practical sign of Taurus at 5:55 am ET. Whenever the Moon moves through earthy Taurus, we are looking to anchor or ground ourselves, usually more in a material sense, as this is the sign that rules money, possessions, and those things that we attach value to, that psychologically add to our feeling of safety and sense of personal wealth.  We are less inclined to gamble with our resources, however, we are more inclined to indulge our senses, as this sign is ruled by Venus, which governs our pleasure instincts.

The energy flow is a little more challenging, this mid-morning, as the Moon squares volatile Mars in egocentric Leo, and then makes a tense aspect to anxious Saturn, early this afternoon. The Mars Saturn energies suggest that we may need to keep our egos and tempers contained and our patience in abundance to avoid possible disputes and clashes.

As the afternoon progresses, however, more harmonious influences to transforming Pluto in Capricorn, come into play,  making dealing with matters of our security and possessions much more advantageous. The Moon Pluto aspect is excellent for any of our long-range strategic planning, especially in the realm of business and our careers.

Friday night, our emotions and spirits are generally upbeat and bright, and our desire for self-indulgence and pleasure rises, as the sensual Taurus Moon makes pleasant aspects to lucky Jupiter, and then to relationship Venus.  Our romantic, social and or entertainment plans are given the go-ahead. Our powers of attraction are elevated.

Famous persons born this day: Prince Andrew, Karen Silkwood. Jeffrey Immelt, Andre Breton.

Astrology Unplugged: A few of my astrological footnotes, observations on former President Bill Clinton, Saturn in the first house, Mars conjunct Venus, Britain’s Prince Andrew, and Tiger Woods.

Caught a video clip on one of the TV networks yesterday, believe it was CNN, of former President Bill Clinton casually talking to reporters, in the aftermath of his recent heart procedure last week.  On the clip, he said something to the affect that he was planning on continuing working a full schedule, but that he would try to get more rest, exercise every day, maybe do more work-related tasks by phone.  In other words, it sounded like he was resonating, as expected, to the presence of the planet Saturn on his Ascendant or first house.

Saturn’s ray usually impinges upon our psyches a more serious, sobering outlook. The very nature of Saturn, the ruler of physical form and matter, is about conservation, and the wise use of our resources, especially when it is on our first house, which rules our bodies. Saturn moving through the first house is often a time when many of us are finally able to shed a few pounds due to our increased aptitude for, and willingness to be, more disciplined.  We take our lives and our life purposes much more seriously with Saturn on our Ascendant as we become more aware of our mortality, which Saturn rules.

As I also wrote in my blog last week, Bill Clinton has his birth chart Mars, the energy planet, exactly conjoined his Ascendant, so he tends to have a supercharged, high energy level to begin with.  A reduced schedule for him would probably still include much more in the way of activity than most of us would ever be able to keep up with.

It was also very interesting that the very day that Clinton had the two stents put into his coronary artery, last week, Mars in Leo, in the sky, was in an “adjustment aspect” to Pluto in Capricorn.  Leo is the sign of the zodiac that rules the heart; Mars and Pluto both rule surgery; and Pluto rules regeneration. The insertion of the two stents into his body would symbolically symbolize Pluto.  Capricorn is the sign that also rules world leaders.  Kind of a neat little cosmic tie-in there that I had to slip in.

Additionally, the Mars Pluto aspect that day generated a collective awareness of that heart procedure for the planet, because of Bill Clinton’s specific experience.  I was watching CNN’s Larry King show the same day Clinton had the procedure done last week and Larry also shared that he recently had the same thing done a few weeks earlier.

Bill Clinton also has something in common with today’s birthday boy, England’s Prince Andrew.  They both have  Venus conjunct Mars aspects in their birth chart horoscopes.  Venus rules our love urge and represents our power of attraction while Mars rule our sexual natures.  Normally, when we have those two planets together, we are more popular and likable, especially with the opposite sex.  Clinton’s Venus Mars conjunction is in very sociable Libra, while Prince Andrew’s is in the more disciplined, status-conscious, controlled sign of Capricorn.  Prince Andrew also has a secretive Scorpio Moon inclining him to be more em0tionally guarded.

One last thing.  Today at 11 am ET golfer Tiger Woods will be making his public statement at the PGA tour headquarters in Florida. He reportedly will be making an apology for his behavior  and discussing his future.  I have blogged here about Tiger the last couple days and the fact that he has some excellent astrological influences now in his horoscope for coming before the public.

At the same time, Tiger is also receiving a good measure of criticism now, especially from reporters, because he is reportedly not going to be doing a live press conference today but rather only a press feed.  He will not be answering any reporters’ questions.  As I look at the situation from an astrological perspective, what I see is merely Tiger being Tiger.  From his horoscope, Tiger tends to have a very perfectionist, intense, controlling, and very private nature, due to his Virgo ascendant and Pluto in his first house. Putting forward a controlled image today, versus one of spontaneous expression, fits in perfectly with Tiger’s basic astrological profile and being.

Peace and love.  Enjoy your day!
