Good news! We’re closing out the workweek (or play week) with the “wind at our back” via the enterprising, self-confident Moon in Aries’ waxing trine to the visionary Sun in Sagittarius (8:04 pm). This is very motivating and inspiring energy that can compel us to take whatever action is necessary to turn a dream into reality.
Ideally, the Moon trining the Sun generates a feeling of ease or natural harmony between our body and spirit.
“A good way to think of your physical body is that it is the result of your energy, your emotions, your mind and your soul.” Catherine Carrigan
Numerologically, it’s also “6” day, which is associated with a desire for peace, love, and harmony, and wanting to be of service to others. Too, the shadow side to this number can make us act a bit like a “mother hen,” in the sense that we can become too meddling or intrusive in other people’s lives. So we may have to dial it back some, especially if people start giving us strange looks. 🙂

The Moon continues in relationship Libra, all day, making a flowing trine to the inquisitive Gemini Sun, this morning (8:57 am), hopefully helping us to feel more of a sense of inner peace or ease with others. This aspect also nicely supports any self-promotion within the public arena as well as any teamwork endeavors. Of course, hanging out with others also often affords us the chance to gain new perspectives on things, or to see the world from a wider lens, and that is something that the curious Gemini Sun most definitely relishes, along with conversation!
Additionally, engaging in face-to-face interactions is also a very good way for us to potentially increase our levels of empathy for each other. Leo Buscaglia (also known as “Dr. Love”) said that, “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
Assertive Mars is also conjunct the North Node in nurturing Cancer, this evening (at 6:46 pm), an influence that can inspire or motivate us to make some headway or progress along what we perceive to be is our own unique, special life path. We may want to especially pay attention now to what is calling out to us, from our heart. Where are we being led? In what direction are we being nudged or prodded to grow, maybe in a courageous way?
“Of all the paths a man could strike into, there is, at any given moment, a best path. A thing which, here and now, it were of all things wisest for him to do. To find this path, and walk in it, is the one thing needful for him.” Thomas Carlyle

“What makes his world so hard to see clearly is not its strangeness but its usualness. Familiarity can blind you too.” Robert M. Pirsig
The waxing Moon continues in the anchoring sign of Taurus the Bull today, until early tonight (8:00 pm), when it then enters curious, busy Gemini. With the Taurus Moon, the realm of the familiar tends to hold greater appeal for us now. Too, isn’t there always a degree of comfort in things always seemingly being a certain way? Some measure of sameness or familiarity in an ever-changing world, it seems, can be very steadying and reassuring for us on many levels. That is perhaps part of the inherent appeal and charm of the sustaining Taurus Moon. It could also be part of the reason why the Moon is said to be exalted in Taurus, or able to impart its maximum impact on us.
A pitfall of familiarity, however, is that it can sometimes make it harder to perceive something older in a brand new light. It’s like the pre-formulated expectations that we have about an established matter block us from perceiving it’s true essence or reality in the present moment. That’s why it’s often a good practice to try to evaluate things through different lenses, to look at things in different ways. An endeavor that has also been shown to very creative and healthy for our brains! A good workout for our imagination.
The Taurus Moon also trines the empowering Sun in Capricorn this afternoon (1:34 pm), its last major planetary aspect before leaving Taurus. The Moon trine Sun influence depicts a nice harmonious flow between the masculine yang (Sun) energies and the feminine yin (Moon) energies. This can be a period when we may feel more unified, internally, and possibly also an excellent time to gather public support (Moon) for our outward ambitions (Sun). This energy should be great for any self-promotion or promotion of our businesses. Good for meeting with higher-ups, bosses, or authority figures. We could also be formally recognized now for our past accomplishments. Probably a good day to seek out a raise, or at least make a good case for receiving one. There is potentially always more of a spirit of cooperation whenever the Moon and the Sun are trined to each other. The Sun is also conjunct the Moon’s South Node in Capricorn today. It could be that karmic issues centering around how we’ve handled our worldly responsibilities, in the past, seep into our day some way.

“Relax, let go, allow, and recognize that some of your desires are about how you think your world should be, rather than how it is in that moment. Become an astute observer…judge less and listen more. Take time to open your mind to the fascinating mystery and uncertainty that we all experience.” Wayne Dyer (May 10,1940 – August 29, 2015)
Today’s Energy:
The Moon’s shift into “anchoring” Taurus (5:02 am) helps us to see the wisdom in going at things at our own pace – particularly if that pace includes some time for partaking in pleasurable or leisure activities. Communing with nature can also be especially grounding and renewing for us now. “Is not a dew-drop on a blade of grass more beautiful than a pearl set in gold? Friedrich Max Muller. The Moon remains in Taurus until Friday morning (7:48 am).
The Moon trining “altruistic” Jupiter in “service-oriented Virgo” (1:01 pm) endows us with a sense of peace and goodwill toward others – especially if we’re operating from our nobler side. This is also excellent energy for dealing with people from other cultures or backgrounds, promoting women’s issues, or for making improvements in the home, including any re-organizing or de-cluttering efforts. This might also be a good time to air out the house; let it breath and release trapped energies.
Moon sextile to “transcendent” Neptune in Pisces (6:54 pm) guides us to experience more of a sense of inner calmness or stillness. The worries of the day tend to drift away now like gentle waves receding along the shoreline. A wonderful time, perhaps, to dine by candlelight, be by water, or to take in a movie or play.
Moon trining the life-giving Sun in “productive” Virgo (10:06 pm) enhances our physical vitality and personal sense of power. Our energies are flowing now in a more unobstructed manner. If we’re so inclined, we may want to consider using this time period for tending to important work-related projects, career strategizing, or for business/ investment planning.
Interestingly, it was Aristotle who reportedly first coined the word ‘energy’ to express the concept of “vigor of expression.” He also believed “the energy of the mind is the essence of life.”

With the Moon still in charming, playful Leo today and making a flowing trine to the exploratory Sun in Sagittarius (11:07 am EST) we are encouraged to pursue fun and adventure, perhaps as a healing form of rejuvenation. Although, an evening opposition to fantasy Neptune (8:20 pm EST) cautions us not to read more into a situation than what really exists. Moon-Neptune can always be a little tricky to navigate.
Later, the Moon’s entrance into discerning, fact-finding Virgo (10:59 pm EST) and a follow-up trine to philosophical Jupiter helps us to achieve a broader, but clear-cut perspective (11:55 pm EST). Additionally, Moon-Jupiter is an aspect of abundance, with Jupiter often regarded as the “Cosmic Santa Claus.” Interestingly, Jupiter will also be stationing direct, this year, exactly on Christmas Day. Wonder if there is any special significance to that? I like to think that there is and that it is all good.

Today’s Affirmation: I embrace new possibilities for myself and am guided by the wisdom of my own inner truth.
Celebrity News: The late Elizabeth Taylor’s legendary collection of precious jewels went to auction on Tuesday evening at Christie’s in New York, just as the Moon was appropriately entering glitzy, glamorous Leo.
The auction marathon began with the Leo Moon square to expansive Jupiter in Taurus, the sign of money and possessions. This aspect often correlates with our overspending, as opulent Jupiter can incline us to want to do things on a lavish or extravagant scale. (Wonder if any of the successful bidders have any buyer’s remorse now?) The Leo Moon was also making a trine to electrifying Uranus. Uranus influences often provide us with singular, one-of-a-kind experiences.
Too, Elizabeth Taylor natally had Venus, which happens to rule jewelry and things of beauty, exactly conjunct Uranus in Aries in her birth chart, perhaps helping her to amass her original, “out of this world” collection in the first place. Of course, multiple marriages to wealthy, generous men did not hurt her cause any either. 🙂 Venus-Uranus can also bring about “out of the norm” romance and whirlwind courtships. (As a child, I was always so enraptured and fully mesmerized by her marriage to Richard Burton, who I also had a major crush on.)
So far, the jewelry sale on Tuesday and Wednesday (Leo Moon both days) has fetched $137.2 million, reportedly making it the most valuable sale of jewelry in auction history. (Unfortunately, due to a temporary shortage of funds, yours truly was, regrettably, unable to partake in any of the bidding, even though my Leo Moon would have loved to have done so.)
Do you have a favorite piece of jewelry that holds a lot of sentimental value for you?
BTW, last week, someone generously dropped a diamond ring valued at $3,500 into a Salvation Army kettle near where I live. Pretty neat, huh? We should all be so inclined. ‘Tis the season.

“As long as you are going to be thinking anyway, think big.”Donald Trump
With the emotional Moon in glamorous, “larger than life” Leo today and five planets in enthusiastic, “originating” Aries, we have a total of six planets in the active fire element now, which is a lot of “inspiring” energy at our disposal. Mental Mercury (retrograde), governing our thoughts and ideas, is also still in a two-degree conjunction with expansive Jupiter, which again encourages us to “think big.”
The proud, creative Leo Moon is also making positive, dynamic aspects to both the Sun (spirit) and Jupiter (growth) in Aries. So this is definitely a day when we have cosmic clearance to go at things “full throttle.” (Of course, we may also need to do some “revising,” later, with Mercury still retrograde.)
BTW, billionaire Donald Trump, quoted above (b. 6/14/46), has a 29 degree, “authoritative, take-charge” Leo Rising or Ascendant (the Asc. is how others view us and it also governs physical appearance and Donald, of course, has the “big” Leo hair). Donald’s energizing Mars at 26 degrees Leo powerfully conjuncts his Rising. Mars in Leo on the Ascendant is a very strong “executive” placement. Mars, ruling the aggressive urge, is also the natural ruler of Aries, so we see a real “Aries flavor” to Donald even though he does not have any planets in Aries. The “‘Martian” Aries-type energy, too, is very conquest-oriented and driven (again this is the kind of energy that we currently have beaming impacting us with the lineup in Aries).
The Leo rising also helps to endow Donald with great self-confidence and a deep sense of his own power (Leo i.e. “lion of the jungle”). Too, his chart reveals a tendency to be a big thinker, by nature, with “gargantuan” Jupiter conjunct his third house of the mind in intellectual Libra (also this placement makes him love beautiful things). This 3rd house placement of Jupiter is also similar is nature to the “Mercury conjunct Jupiter” aspect that we currently have today.
Donald’s Jupiter is also harmoniously trined to both his Sun and Uranus, which are conjunct in versatile Gemini in his career house, which makes him more entrepreneurial, promotion-minded (esp. in sales-oriented Gemini), as well as highly original, particularly with respect to his professional pursuits. The Sun-Uranus aspect can also give him a predilection to side with the underdog at times. He is also not afraid to defy convention (Uranus) in his quest to live authentically (Charlie Sheen also has Sun conjunct Uranus). Sun-Uranus may also incline him (and Charlie) to be more unpredictable at times. The last thing, too, that Sun-Uranus wants to be is “homogenized.” Additionally, Donald’s Moon is in visionary, Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius (like Oprah Winfrey).
Of course, the big question regarding Donald Trump now, is whether he is going to run for U.S. President? While astrology is not fortune-telling and it doesn’t predict the future, curiously, Jupiter, the planet of politics, will be in his 10th house of career in 2012. He also has reportedly said that he would decide the matter, this June, his birthday month, a time when pioneering Mars will be entering his career house (it enters it mid-June). Mars through the tenth house can be a highly ambitious time, and a time for “new professional starts.” The plot thickens!
Would you vote for Donald Trump for President? Yes? No? What about if he got a different-style haircut? Did away with that big Leo hair? Would that affect your decision any? 🙂 I personally like Donald because he is different and charismatic. His Mars is also exactly conjunct my 26 degree Moon in Leo, so emotionally he tends to energize me. My late husband’s Mars was, ironically, the same degree as Donald’s. But unfortunately for me he didn’t have Donald’s kind of money. (: Although, my husband did have me, so I guess he was “wealthy” in some respects. 🙂

“I heard the bells on Christmas Day; their old familiar carols play, and wild and sweet the word repeat of peace on earth, good-will to men.”Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Cosmic Word Of The Day: Joy
(Moon trine Sun. Moon trine Pluto.)
Joy: 1) the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying; keen pleasure; elation
Cosmic Weather:
“Early Christmas Day there’s a colorful, roaring Leo Moon and gift wrap and ribbon could be flying all over the place in a dashing race to open up our gifts and see what Santa’s left us under the tree. Of course, those of us who have been naughty this past year may be dramatically licking our wounds now, in real Leo “drama queen” style, silently vowing to be nicer next year, so we won’t, once again, have to face the utter, abject humiliation and suffer the complete loss of pride of “zero gifts” from Santa. The most devastating personal blow here, of course, being: No George Clooney under the tree!!!
Oh, the problematic joy of Christmas Day!
When the Moon enters practical Virgo (10:15 am EST), the cosmic energy around us becomes much more serviceable and manageable. We are even able to somehow miraculously endure being holed up with oddball relatives for hours on end, with no chance for a quick escape. 🙂
Later, the Moon’s harmonious trines to both the warming Sun (4:57 pm EST) and transforming Pluto (6:49 pm EST) help to foster deep feelings of contentment within us, and also help to strengthen our precious ties with loved ones.
Christmas Blessings, to all those who celebrate the joy of this magical day. Best wishes to everyone for a glorious, prosperous New Year.
Also, thank you so much for reading my “Cosmic Life Coach” astrology blog, this past year. I have really appreciated it. I’m not quite sure, at this point, whether to continue with it or not in the new year. It’s something I’m presently mulling over. Trying to ascertain the best use of my energies for 2011.

The Moon continues in Altruistic Aquarius, switching to Sympathetic Pisces later in the day (until 10:52 pm EDT). Excellent energies for immersing ourselves in group activities. Our creativity, psychic, and spiritual impulses are also accentuated with the Moon’s monthly conjunction to Imaginative Neptune, our symbolic link to the Divine (2:49 pm EDT).
Romance also gets the go ahead with the Moon’s harmonious aspects to the Illuminating Sun and Communicator Mercury in Relationship Libra.
What we want to watch out for today, however, is a tendency to “faulty judgment,” especially over-promising “more goods than we can deliver.” This is because of Mental Mercury’s powerful quinqunx aspect to Exaggerating Jupiter. This is also a good time to watch our “word-count,” and to remember that “less is more,” lest we bore others with our “rambling speech.”
Today’s Quote For The Day:
“You must learn to be still in the midst of activity, and to be vibrantly alive in repose.” Indira Gandhi
On This Date In History:
On October 17, 1933, scientist, Albert Einstein, arrived in the United States as a refugee from Nazi Germany. The popular Venus and Mars Love Duo were tightly conjunct in Scholarly Sagittarius, the sign that rules long-distance travel. Both Venus and Mars were also harmoniously sextile to Fortuitous, Protective Jupiter (the natural ruler of Sagittarius) in Diplomatic Libra. These energies could be interpreted as “a notable, popular academic” (Venus-Mars) seeking “opportunities abroad” (Jupiter and Sagittarius) in a more “peaceful atmosphere” (Libra).
There was also an exact, very potent Cardinal-T Cross activated in the sky that day involving the Sun in Libra, Uranus in Aries, and Pluto in Cancer. A Cardinal-T Cross usually tends to “force action” and especially with the outer planets involved, there was the opportunity then for action occurring that would be “significant for the collective” (Pluto rules the masses).
Pluto also rules control and tyranny, and Einstein was seeking to flee a dangerous and controlling environment that also put “his personal safety” at risk (Pluto does rule life and death issues).
It is interesting to note here, too, that Uranus, the ruler of scientific Aquarius, signifies “genius,” and it was deposited in the “new beginnings” sign of Aries. Uranus additionally represents the quest for “personal freedom.”
Transforming Pluto was in domestic-ruling Cancer (the U.S. is also a Cancer country), and the Life-Giving Sun was in peace-loving Libra.
English translation: “A genius embarks on a new personal beginning, makes a transformational residential change, in his bid to live in a more peaceful, safer environment, and enjoy a freer life. A personal move with major life-changing implications (Uranus and Pluto) for the planet.”
Notable Deaths: Barbara Billingsley, who portrayed mom, “June Cleaver,” on the 1950s hit TV sitcom, “Leave It To Beaver,” died on Saturday at the age of 94.
Barbara, a Sagittarian, born December 22, 1915, had her Nurturing Moon in Cancer, the sign that denotes “Mother.” The Cancer Moon helped to make her a naturally sympathetic figure.
Her Moon was also conjunct both Pluto and Saturn. Moon-Pluto can give one great “healing ability” (the rejuvenating nature of Pluto) and deep emotional insight. Interestingly, Pluto, ruling “the masses,” can also make one famous, and Barbara would forever be remembered for her “Cancerian-Moon role” as “Wally and Beaver’s Mom.”
The Moon-Saturn aspect also gave her depth and seriousness, and no doubt, she probably took her role as a “Mom,” very seriously, in real life and on TV. Barbara was a beautiful lady and will be greatly missed. (Below is a Youtube link to Leave It To Beaver.)
