The organizing Virgo Moon seems extra eager to help get our Monday morning off to a productive start today via a flowing trine to the potent Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in industrious Capricorn. Ideally, this harmonious aspect can inspire us to feel more hopeful, more confident (Jupiter) in our ability to turn things around (Pluto) in a tangible/measurable way (Capricorn). Also, with this aspect, there may be an opportunity to identify or locate valuable hidden resources that can somehow aid or further our cause.

Later this afternoon, Luna will leave Virgo for balancing Libra (at 5:16 pm), on route to her Full Phase, tomorrow.

Cosmic Weather:

With the Waxing Moon still deposited in initiating Aries all day, till this evening, there’s a strong desire for self-focus, independence, adventure, and wanting to make things happen, “right now!” This morning, Luna also forms a flowing trine to optimistic Jupiter, in its home sign of Sagittarius (at 9:00 am), an aspect that tends to make us want to see the best in everything and everybody. This is a very nice influence that can also supply us with an extra dose of self-confidence.

Then, tonight, we begin to ‘rein it in,’ with the Moon entering grounded Taurus (at 6:19 pm), in preparation for the exciting Full Moon in that sign, on Tuesday. The Full Moon will be occurring at 19 degrees of Taurus (exactly on my natal Sun!).

Numerologically, this Sunday is also a “one” day, which ties in nicely with the daytime Aries Moon energy, as “one” days tend to make us more enterprising, more leadership-oriented, more steeped in the mindset of self-determination and “I’ve got this!” The Sun and Mercury in Scorpio also potentially supplying us with a potent reserve of shrewdness or discernment for our nifty toolkit.

Cosmic Weather:

The first half of the day finds the enterprising Waning Moon in Aries making a Grand Fire Trine to assertive Mars in Leo (9:33 am) and to expansive Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (12:13 pm), so we have a real opportunity, at this time, to turn things around in a positive way that feels very spacious and invigorating to us. The fire signs – Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius – naturally invoke our passions, or what it is that is burning in our heart. A Grand Fire Trine also suggests a special ability to more effortlessly put into motion our strongest desires.

Again, with the Moon in its waning phase, we are continuing to work on bringing things to completion now, as well as actively eliminating what isn’t working. Too, it’s interesting how we often equate “adding things” to our lives as automatically making them better, but sometimes, “subtracting” the non-essential elements is what really ends up giving our lives their richness and distinction. Kind of like removing unnecessary furniture pieces or accessories out of a room so what you have left is easier to see and appreciate and manage.

This is also an excellent period to work on developing our sense of self-confidence (Leo), our sense of daring or adventure (Aries), as well as refining our vision for ourselves and our future (Sagittarius).

Structuring Saturn Rx in Capricorn is also trining focused Vesta in Taurus today, allowing us a chance to become more grounded in our work or duties. It may be that we are returning to a work project now (Saturn Rx) that we earlier abandoned or put on hold. It’s also potentially easier for us to become more disciplined now as we can ideally see that the “end is in sight.”

Since this is also the 23rd day of the month (or a Mercury-ruled five day) there’s a tendency to employ a more mental or intellectual approach to the day. Our cognitive juices are flowing. An especially good time, perhaps, to follow-up on, or communicate to the world, what we are curious about. There may also be more of a flair for diplomacy or for extending an olive branch. It could be we are more inventive or creative now regarding strategies on how to do this.

Today’s Energy:

The Moon’s shift into “anchoring” Taurus (5:02 am) helps us to see the wisdom in going at things at our own pace – particularly if that pace includes some time for partaking in pleasurable or leisure activities. Communing with nature can also be especially grounding and renewing for us now. “Is not a dew-drop on a blade of grass more beautiful than a pearl set in gold? Friedrich Max Muller. The Moon remains in Taurus until Friday morning (7:48 am).

The Moon trining “altruistic” Jupiter in “service-oriented Virgo” (1:01 pm) endows us with a sense of peace and goodwill toward others – especially if we’re operating from our nobler side. This is also excellent energy for dealing with people from other cultures or backgrounds, promoting women’s issues, or for making improvements in the home, including  any re-organizing or de-cluttering efforts. This might also be a good time to air out the house; let it breath and release trapped energies.

Moon sextile to “transcendent” Neptune in Pisces (6:54 pm) guides us to experience more of a sense of inner calmness or stillness. The worries of the day tend to drift away now like gentle waves receding along the shoreline. A wonderful time, perhaps, to dine by candlelight, be by water, or to take in a movie or play.

Moon trining the life-giving Sun in “productive” Virgo (10:06 pm) enhances our physical vitality and personal sense of power. Our energies are flowing now in a more unobstructed manner. If we’re so inclined, we may want to consider using this time period for tending to important work-related projects, career strategizing, or for business/ investment planning.

The Moon wraps up her stay in inquisitive Sagittarius with a flowing trine to benevolent, philosophical Jupiter in exuberant Leo (9:37 am). A wonderful opportunity for us to spread a touch of joy and goodwill around. Mark Twain once noted that “to get the full value of joy you must have someone to divide it with.” A warm, positive sentiment that is really a perfect fit, too, for this more upbeat Moon-Jupiter energy, which naturally serves to activate our “inner philanthropist”; also, our “inner Santa.” Psychology experts also say that we tend to feel better about ourselves when we are involved in activities in which we feel we’re making a contribution to the welfare of others – versus simply occupying ourselves with more self-serving kinds of endeavors. Moon-Jupiter aspects can also make us more aware of the legacy we’re leaving behind.

The Moon enters productive Capricorn, mid-afternoon (2:47 pm), harmoniously trining affectionate Venus in Virgo (3:44 pm). With today’s Moon in “investigative” Scorpio, digging below the surface is likely the best strategy by which to play the day and, hopefully, come out the insightful victor in the game of life in the process. As Aldous Huxley once wrote, “Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.”

The Moon’s trine to “philosophical” Jupiter (1:56 pm EST) also seems to be a big boon for us here as it can help us to put any lingering or bothersome minutia (facts) into a larger, understandable context that feels very freeing or expansive. The Moon’s monthly shift into organizing and purifying Virgo (10:42 am EDT) is our merry little cue to put more order and cleanliness in our lives. Refurbishing or renovating projects are also encouraged with the Virgo Moon’s magical trine to transforming Pluto (7:28 pm EDT) in goal-oriented Capricorn. Moon-Pluto is potentially very healing energy as well. Also, it is outstanding for arriving at sudden, emotional breakthroughs, partly because Pluto aligns us with our subconscious side. Later, the Moon’s harmonious trine to expansive Jupiter, in self-indulgent Taurus (8:56 pm EDT), gives us a green light to engage in all manner of self-pampering. This influence can also help to put us in a more jovial, lighthearted mood.

One possible storm cloud on the horizon today: Lovable Venus in passionate Scorpio is forming a 135-degree linkup with free-spirited Uranus in spontaneous Aries. The day kicks off with the Moon still deposited in drama queen Leo then shifts into worker bee Virgo (3:34 pm EDT) at which time our personal efficiency level gets boosted up a notch, as Virgo tends to be very organized and analytical. The Virgo Moon’s lucky trine to generous, optimistic Jupiter in material Taurus (4:43 on EDT) also bodes well for money and possession matters.

We may also find that our ability for clear thinking is potentially enhanced today with intellectual Mercury in Gemini’s trine to astute Saturn in balanced Libra. This is an excellent day for mental concentration, long-term planning, budget discussions, working on detailed reports, matters of commitment,  and gaining influential support or backing (Saturn) for our ideas (Mercury).

Anchoring Saturn tends to steady or stabilize our thinking and confers upon us practical know-how based upon our experience. It can also make us much more disciplined (Saturn). Too, we are more apt choose our words (Mercury) more wisely (Saturn). This is a positive time to discuss serious (Saturn) issues, especially related to our goals. Also, this is a good day to seek out professional advice or counseling.

Famous Birthdays June 7th: Late Dean Martin (94), Prince (53). BTW, Prince has a fascinating horoscope with a very strong “Pluto” tone to it, which may help to explain why he has always been more of a mystery to figure out. (Pluto can be very secretive). Also, it sheds light on his intensity.

Prince has his Pluto in entertainment Leo at 29 degrees exactly conjunct his 10th house of career (the highest point in his chart). He also has a Pluto-ruled Scorpio Ascendant (how the world sees him), and his restless Gemini Sun (power source) is exactly conjunct his 8th house cusp of other people’s resources (also the house of sex), which is the natural house of Pluto.

Pluto conjunct the authoritative 10th house often denotes the potential for a “power complex,” as Pluto governs the urge for power and or control. Pluto also represents the masses, and individuals with Pluto here often rise to positions whereby they can impact a large number of people (10th house is also linked with an individual’s reputation and the world at large).

Pluto also denotes our passions and obsessions and when it is on the professional house there can be an intense pursuit of career matters, sometimes to the exclusion of everything else. The person may also have the feeling that they are “fated” for a certain role. There is also often a desire to transform or radically reshape the world in some way, usually in conjunction with career, as Pluto represents the rebirth factor. Of course, Prince has done just that through his incredible music and unique theatrics (Leo).
