“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Oprah Winfrey

COSMIC WATCH:

The Moon’s passage through “slow-moving, sustaining” Taurus inspires us to find contentment in the moment, in the simple things of life. It fosters an acceptance of where we are in our journey. The Dalai Lama teaches that when we are “discontented,” we want “more, more, more.” But, when we reflect contentment, we can say to ourselves, “Oh yes – I already have everything that I really need.” Contentment also provides us with the strength and wherewithal to continue on our journey; it replenishes our chalice.

This evening’s lunar trine to transforming Pluto (7:27 pm EST) also gives us a chance to clear away toxic emotions that have been holding us hostage. Too, it’s potentially a very sensual influence that can serve to unleash our passions, something that also naturally occurs when we are living fully in the moment. “A man who has not passed through the inferno of his passions has never overcome them.” Carl Jung

How would you characterize a “contented life?”

Famous January 9 Birthdays:  Richard Nixon, Joan Baez, John Denver.

“Always remember others may hate you but those who hate you don’t win unless you hate them. And then you destroy yourself.” Richard Nixon, in his White House farewell

Enjoy your Thursday!

COSMIC WATCH:

With the Moon passing through “action-oriented” Aries today, and igniting the entire Cardinal Grand Cross, this is an excellent time for proceeding at full throttle with pivotal projects that we have perhaps had on the back burner, for a while, but still feel passionate about.

Intellectual Mercury’s conjunction with sweet Venus in “ambitious” Capricorn (5:02 pm EST) also helps to foster a spirit of cooperation in business and the workplace, as well as endowing us with a greater appreciation of love and beauty in general. “I don’t think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains.” Anne Frank

“Much of life appears mundane at the time. Yet in God’s providence every moment includes significant details arranged by His divine hand.” Dillon Burroughs

COSMIC WATCH:

With the new year only six days old, some of us are perhaps still in the process of fleshing out or maybe modifying the finer details of our resolutions or personal vision for ourselves for 2014. Too, for those of us who may fall into this illustrious camp of late bloomers, we appear to have a special helping hand on our side today in the guise of mental Mercury sextile exacting Saturn. This planetary aspect can help us to focus on the nitty-gritty versus the broader scope of a matter. It is also very good for concentration and for seeking out advice from experts or from those whose opinions we value.  “A good leader will seek the wisdom of others. After all, no man is an island!” Jim George

Also, the Moon’s ingress into trailblazing Aries (2:45 pm EST) helps to channel our inner pioneer and inspires us to take bold action on matters.

What is perhaps the best piece of advice that you have ever received? Too, what advice do you wish you maybe had received earlier?

Famous January 6 Birthdays:  Joan of Arc, Nancy Lopez, Loretta Young, Steven Forrest (astrologer).

Aldous Huxley, astrology for december 28 2013, Gayle King, horoscope december 28 2013, investigation, life coaching for women, Moon conjunct Saturn, Moon in Scorpio, Moon trine Jupiter

“The truth must be quite plain, if one could just clear away the litter.” Agatha Christie

COSMIC WATCH:

With today’s Moon in “investigative” Scorpio, digging below the surface is likely the best strategy by which to play the day and, hopefully, come out the insightful victor in the game of life in the process. As Aldous Huxley once wrote, “Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.”

The Moon’s trine to “philosophical” Jupiter (1:56 pm EST) also seems to be a big boon for us here as it can help us to put any lingering or bothersome minutia (facts) into a larger, understandable context that feels very freeing or expansive. Moon trine Jupiter is a classic aspect of “opportunity.”

Later, the Moon’s conjunction with “utilitarian” Saturn (7:58 pm EST) reveals to us the infinite, ageless wisdom of “conserving our resources.”

“People protect what they love.” Jacques Yves Cousteau

How might “the truth” set you free today?

Famous December 28th Birthdays: Denzel Washington, John Gray, Gayle King.

“We’re all spending way too much of our time and energy trying to fight the stuff we can’t change.” Gayle King.

Astrology October 18, 2013: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aries

action, astrology for october 18 2013, Full Moon Eclipse October 18 2013, Lee Harvey Oswald, life coaching for women, Lunar eclipse, Martina Navratilova, Max Lucado, relationships, William James

“Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action.” William James

COSMIC WATCH:

It’s easy to live mostly in our heads. To get seductively entrenched in the realm of our own thinking and then, consequentially, to often lose out on opportunities to improve our lives, because we’re not actively participating enough in the real world around us. Mahatma Gandhi once stated that, “It’s the action, not the fruit of the action, that’s important.” He also said that, “You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.”

The Lunar Eclipse today at 26 degrees of “initiating” Aries (7:38 pm EDT), the first sign of the zodiac, is perhaps a perfect primer to help veer us away from the tantalizing world of thought and into the self-empowering realm of doing and creating. Entrepreneurial Aries epitomizes action; also, daring and bravery. It is also through our actions that we reveal the nature of our thinking. Depending on what house this lunation is falling in, in our personal charts, we may find this event has us taking action now on the matters governed by that house (or area of life). We may also have a chance now to cultivate a more self-confident and courageous approach to handling the affairs of that sector of our chart.

With the Full Moon Eclipse in Aries, “the sign of self,” this also means that the Sun is in the opposing sign of Libra, the “sign of the other.” This Eclipse may remind us, once again, of the delicate balance that must be maintained between tending to the needs of others and tending to the needs of self. It’s possible, with this Eclipse, that a “light bulb suddenly goes on in our head” and we become privy to some important action that we must also take, within a relationship context, to make our lives more meaningful or fulfilling. In some cases, too, events may occur, out of the blue, that have a notable impact on our partnerships, or alliances. Sometimes, eclipses serve to “fast forward” or “speed up” situations in our lives.

Eclipses can be very insightful and consciousness-raising. They tend to bring matters to a climax. Eclipses can also be harbingers of endings. Too, if certain elements do pass away now, it’s often because they were no longer serving a useful or needed purpose in our lives. Also, we must learn to fully embrace endings, and to not fear them, as endings are part of the natural order of things. “Endings are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin.” C. Joybell

This lunation finds assertive Mars, the ruler of Aries, in analytical Virgo and applying to an exact opposition to veiled Neptune in Pisces (9:53 pm EDT Saturday). Mars-Neptune aspects can be more challenging to navigate because they often contain an element of vagueness about them.

It could be, however, that with this Eclipse, we just go ahead and carefully do our due diligence or fact-finding, as best we can, which is what Mars in Virgo enjoys doing anyway, and then simply surrender up the rest (Neptune in Pisces), believing, in our heart, that we are exactly on the right course of action for where we’re supposed to be. Accepting, too, in life, that there are usually a lot of gray areas that have to be factored in. Not everything is always going to be black or white, or clearly obvious to us. Sometimes, we simply have to learn to become comfortable, meandering about in the fog, perhaps even perceiving it as a grand Aries adventure. Or, maybe we can use the murkiness as a giant launching pad to seed our Piscean faith. “Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. It is the belief that God will do what is right.” Max Lucado.

Famous October 18 Birthdays: Lee Harvey Oswald, Martina Navratilova, Chuck Berry. “Changes made to please others are unrealistic, but more important, they’re unfair to you.” Martina Navratilova.

Happy Eclipse Blessings!

“I adore simple pleasures. They are the last refuge of the complex.” Oscar Wilde

COSMIC WATCH:

Pleasure-seeking Venus sextiles benevolent Jupiter today, the planet of optimism and abundance. It’s a perfect time for kicking back and doing whatever fosters a sense of joy and fulfillment. For some, this might equate to pursuing a romantic interest; experimenting with a new recipe; or, maybe attending get-togethers with family and friends. Ernest Hemingway once referred to pleasures as the “punctuation marks of life.” Isn’t that a great way to view them? He also added, however, that we don’t want to get trapped in the “festival theory of life,” inferring that “too much pleasure” can lead to boredom or atrophy of the human spirit.

The adventurous Aries Moon also adds to our desire to be fully immersed in the moment. “Real generosity towards the future lies in giving all to the present.” Albert Camus

“You must understand, young Hobbit, it takes a long time to say anything in Old English. And we never say anything unless it is worth taking a long time to say.” J. R. R. Tolkien

COSMIC WATCH:

Intellectual Mercury enters deliberate Taurus. This helps us to pilot down the burner on our thinking, so our thoughts and words have more time to marinate. Communications are endowed with more of a thorough quality now and we are also more attuned to the practical consequences of our thinking or reasoning. Mercury will stay in Taurus until May 15.

The Sun trining mysterious, transformative Pluto today may also lead us down an excavation trail. It’s a very good time to probe for deeper meaning, or for examining hidden motivations. Also, for tending to refurbishing projects.

The Moon’s entrance into curious, unconventional Aquarius, also suggests that we are more amenable to departing from the status quo now, or are at least, more willing to experiment with donning new approaches. “We must conduct research and then accept the results. If they don’t stand up to experimentation, Buddha’s own words must be rejected.” Dalai Lama XIV

“Live your beliefs and you can turn the world around.” Henry David Thoreau

COSMIC WATCH:

“Assertive” Mars sextiles “philosophical” Jupiter today (6:26 am EDT). This galvanizing aspect often helps to firm up our beliefs or convictions. It can also predispose us to want to take a stand or act courageously on matters that are dear to our heart. With the right platform or outlet, it’s entirely possible that we may be able to wield greater influence or sway over others now, who may be very inspired by our high level of enthusiasm for our cause.

Since we also have Mars squaring “intense” Pluto (11:47 pm EDT), it is likely that we are also willing to work very hard to achieve our goals now. This aspect is often linked with almost a Herculean effort to get ahead, which can be very admirable. We do, however, want to make sure that, in our bid for success or dominance, that we also stay mindful of, and take into consideration, other people’s needs and desires, as on the shadow side, Mars-Pluto can coincide with bitter power struggles and manipulation.

Too, on another level, Mars-Pluto aspects can sometimes indicate a desire to let go of something that we may have at one time been very impassioned about. This “giving up” may occur alongside the realization that this thing is no longer serving a useful purpose for us and it is time to release it and move on. Also, another possible scenario here: we may find that we need to suddenly give our attention to situations or matters that could be described as in a “state of decay.”  “You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.” C. Joybell C.

Today’s Affirmation: “What I need, I attract. What I no longer require, I lovingly surrender.”

Denzel Washington, full moon in cancer december 2012, Full moon in cancer december 28 2012, Gayle King, life coaching for women, releasing

“What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family.” Mother Teresa

COSMIC WATCH:

The last Full Moon of the year is occurring today in the sign of “nesting” Cancer, at 7 degrees (5:21 am EST), putting a spotlight on home, family, and security concerns. With this Full Moon, we also have the chance to gain greater awareness of how our personal life (Cancer) impacts our professional life (Sun in Capricorn), and vice versa. We are also ideally seeking to achieve more of a harmonious balance now between these two realms. Something that is often quite challenging for us to do.

Too, with Full Moons signifying a time of release, it is likely that certain elements will need to exit our lives now in order to obtain what we want for ourselves. Additionally, this “phasing out” period may be even more noteworthy now, as this Full Moon opposes “purging” Pluto and squares radical, “change-agent” Uranus. Plus, we are at the end of another calendar year and are likely much more eager to want to put the past behind us now, so we can start out fresh in the new year.

Moon-Pluto can provide us with greater resolve to face or tackle some of our darker or more serious issues, the ones that we maybe have been avoiding for a while because we were perhaps fearful or unsure of how to deal with them. In some cases, too, we may be forced to deal with certain issues now whether we want to or not. Both Pluto and Uranus have been known to add a certain urgency to our affairs, especially if we have been resistant to dealing with things in the past.

Also, this lunation trines “responsible” Saturn and “wounded healer” Chiron, suggesting that we do have two old masters by our side to guide us now. Moon-Saturn particularly summoning up our own mature judgment and wisdom, culled from our unique blend of life experiences. Moon-Saturn can make us very resourceful and resilient in the face of whatever life happens to serve up on our plate. “Turn your wounds into wisdom.” Oprah Winfrey

What is your “inner wisdom” telling you to do now?

Full Moon in Cancer activities: remodeling or improving the homestead; purchasing or selling real estate; having an open house; spending time with family members; nurturing the more vulnerable; pampering and self-care; being around water; volunteering in a soup kitchen; helping the homeless; experimenting with new recipes; dining out in restaurants; grocery-shopping; shopping for antiques; purchasing tableware; buying home furnishings and accessories; investigating our genealogy; taking measures that add to our feeling of security or well-being.

Famous Birthdays December 28: Denzel Washington, Gayle King.

“You pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too. That’s part of it.” Denzel Washington

Full Moon Blessings to you!

COSMIC WATCH:

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” Albert Einstein

Even though the Moon is still in steady, dependable Taurus, with the Sun trine futuristic Uranus we may decide that the time is ripe to toss aside some of our old (socialized) programming. Uranus helping to lift up the “self-discovery curtain” before us. Giving us an inspiring preview of what our lives might be like if we dared to venture outside of our comfort zones. This may also be a good day for learning new technology, or new systems and procedures.

Sweet Venus is also conjunct serious Saturn. We’re moving our relationships to the front burner now, where greater scrutiny and evaluation of them, is more likely.

Too, Mercury is stationing direct in Scorpio (5:48 pm EST).  Signifying that decision-making has the go-ahead again.
