Cosmic Weather:

“Some of us think holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it is letting go.” – Herman Hesse

This Tuesday morning, Luna in Scorpio is in her Waning Crescent Phase, and sextile to both the empowering Sun (7:36 am) and transformational Pluto in Capricorn (9:27 am) – a period which is perceived to be a boon – at least on paper – for any kind of purging, decluttering, or refurbishing projects, including on the corporate or business front.

Tomorrow, too, the annual Sun-Pluto conjunction will become exact. Often that pairing poises us to want to, among other things, closely scrutinize matters in a determined bid to exposing any possible weaknesses or kinks in the underlying infrastructure of things so we have a better idea of what maybe needs to be either shored up or pitched or possibly even reformulated. Pluto is linked with X-ray vision and tends to reveal what is hidden in the depths. This morning’s lunar aspects could also be a bit of a preview or test-run for what follows tomorrow.

And, of course, we also have homing pigeon Mercury stationing direct in Capricorn tomorrow.

In between all that, Luna will also shift into freedom-loving Sagittarius around lunchtime today (12:33 pm), which usually serves to stoke our visionary side.

*All times EST

Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.

Cosmic Weather:

On this sixth day of the week – and sixth day of the month – we have Waxing Luna, in penetrating Scorpio, sextile to Pluto Rx in Capricorn (7:24 am), Scorpio’s modern-day co-ruler of the sign (along with Mars).

This aspect tends to introduce more intense emotions and feelings. Things that have been tucked away deep inside of us are now surfacing and clamoring for the exit doors. Ideally, this exodus process can be very healing. It can also be a good time to attempt to locate what has been lost or misplaced as our inner detective is now hot on the trail.

Too, Luna will go void-of-course after this sextile and remain so until she enters adventurous Sagittarius (12:39 pm) where she will hang out and, no doubt, copiously opine for the rest of the weekend. Also, we may even see preachiness crescendo to new heights when the Sadge Moon squares off with mental Mercury in persnickety, snarky Virgo this evening (8:18 pm). Additionally, Moon-Mercury tends to put our thoughts and feelings at odds.

“Don’t allow your mind to tell your heart what to do. The mind gives up easily.” – Paul Coelho

Born On This Day: Alexander Fleming, Scottish bacteriologist (invented penicillin; Nobel Prize 1945). He was born in Lochfield, Scotland on August 6, 1881 (d. 1955).

“For the birth of something new, there has to be a happening. Newton saw an apple fall; James Watt watched a kettle boil; Rontgen fogged some photographic plates. And these people knew enough to translate ordinary happenings into something new…”

Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.

“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” John Bunyan

Hand, Cupped, Generosity, Sharing

Today’s Energy:

The Moon in “compassionate” Pisces helps to sensitize us more fully to the needs of others.  In The Art of Happiness, The Dalai Lama states that love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. “Without them humanity cannot survive.” Many of us have also been especially moved, this week, by Pope Francis’ visit to the U.S. and his apparent intentional way of living that makes selflessly caring for others, particularly those who are downtrodden, a number one priority.

The Pisces Moon is also making a sextile to “transformative” Pluto today (12:32 pm EDT), an aspect that can also serve to align us with that more mysterious, deeper part of our being that most of us are perpetually on a quest for. Today’s “close encounter” could be even more telltale or revelatory for us since Pluto just stationed direct yesterday, potentially accentuating its vibratory impact upon our consciousness. Pluto’s “communiques” to us are often thought to point us in the direction of our inner truth, illuminating more clearly to us what our next steps should be, if we want to live our lives with greater authenticity and a real sense of higher purpose. Moon-Pluto energy is also excellent for renovating our surroundings, antiquing, psychotherapy, spiritual healing, and locating lost or misplaced items.

Questions for Today:  What kindness bestowed upon you from another do you recall with the most fondness or appreciation? What have you graciously given to another that you are most proud of? What is your “inner world” all about?

To Say Goodbye

(Today’s Planetary Aspects: Moon trines Neptune, 9:01 am; Moon sextiles Pluto, 6:06 pm; The Moon is in releasing Scorpio all day; Mercury finishes its shadow period today at 13 degrees of Gemini. All times are EDT.)

Cosmic Quote of the Day: “Thank God I found the GOOD in goodbye” Beyonce Knowles

Finding the GOOD in goodbye is both an enlightening and uplifting concept because, on the one hand, it propels us to examine the upside aspects of a parting (Scorpio) – something that we might, otherwise, be tempted to forego. Secondly, it blesses or attaches a positive vibration or sentiment to whomever or whatever we are saying goodbye to.

About Today’s Energy: The Moon in Scorpio adds an element of depth and complexity to our perceptions and interactions. An early morning trine to intuitive Neptune (9:01 am) also helps us to adeptly tune into other people’s feelings and desires. Later, the Moon’s sextile to influential Pluto (6:06 pm) can positively re-acquaint us with a sense of our own power and capability, which can, in turn, motivate us to tackle more challenging tasks.  Too, ideally included in this itinerary will be finding some time to partake in de-cluttering or refurbishing projects, which Scorpio energy is so characteristically famous for. This is also an excellent period for sharing intimacy with another, channeling our inner detective, going antiquing, or having a past life reading.

Famous Birthdays June 27: Khloe Kardashian, Helen Keller, Ross Perot, Vera Wang

“No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a heaven to the human spirit.” Helen Keller

Astrology July 2, 2014: Getting Our Affairs In Order With The Virgo Moon

astrology for july 2 2014, creating order, horoscope july 2 2014, Moon in Virgo, Moon sextile Pluto, solving mysteries

“We adore chaos because we love to produce order.” M. C. Escher

COSMIC WATCH:

While many of us may have a distinct preference for order over chaos, being able to actually design or decipher that order, in the face of challenging disarray, can often seem like a gargantuan task for some us to accomplish, at least initially, as we begin to sort through the mayhem to see exactly what we have going on under the heap.

Fortunately, today’s Moon in “logical, systematic” Virgo can serve as a jump-start to help us lay claim to the “natural order of things.” The Virgo energy, which symbolically governs the digestive system in the body, naturally has an affinity for breaking things down into manageable, bite-size parts. Too, once elements are dis-assembled or broken down, we are better able to see how all the individual pieces fit together to form the whole of something. We also simultaneously learn where things need to be sequenced or pieced together, in the future, so that we can have more of a flowing or proper order around us.

With intellectual Mercury, the ruler of today’s Virgo Moon, also now direct, as of yesterday, in “curious” Gemini, even though it’s still in its shadow phase for two more weeks, this forward motion of the “Winged Messenger” can further help us with our problem-solving faculties, as our thoughts and ideas take on greater clarity. Additionally, the Virgo Moon’s sextile to “investigative” Pluto, this evening (6:20 pm EDT), bodes well for our ability to solve mysteries, as it primes us to go below the surface of things and take a peak at what is hidden. This may also be a good time to attempt to locate lost or misplaced items. Moon-Pluto aspects can also be advantageous for healing applications or energy re-alignments, especially with the Moon positioned in Virgo, the sign of health and nutrition.

What one action could you take today to help get your assorted affairs in order?

Famous July 2 Birthdays: Richard Petty, Herman Hesse.

“We are sun and moon, dear friend; we are sea and land. It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognize each other, to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is: each the other’s opposite and complement.” – Herman Hesse, Narcissus and Goldmund

Enjoy your Wednesday!

COSMIC WATCH:

The Moon in idealistic Pisces helps us tap into our more charitable side. There is also a transforming quality to the morning as the Moon sextiles renewing Pluto (10:40 am EST). Something that was perhaps hidden or concealed to us before, may now finally be viewed or understood, or at least partially grasped. Lovable Venus squaring serious Saturn may also find us duly reflecting upon our relationships and whether or not we are getting our needs met. “When you stop expecting people to be perfect, you can like them for who they are.” Donald Miller

Famous Birthdays February 11: Burt Reynolds, Jennifer Aniston, Manuel Noriega, Sarah Palin. “Buck up or stay in the truck.” Sarah Palin

In the News: It was announced today that Pope Benedict XVI will resign from his post on February 28. This surprising announcement comes on the heels of Mars (in spiritual Pisces) exactly squaring Jupiter (in newsmaker Gemini) just yesterday. It is often the nature of action-oriented Mars to trigger “historic firsts.” Jupiter is also the planet of organized religion.

Enjoy your Monday!

COSMIC WATCH:

The Moon’s passage into “behind-the-scenes” Pisces (3:18 am EDT) suggests tapping into our inner resources instead of looking outward for the answers. The Moon’s soothing sextiles to abundant Jupiter (11:56 am EDT) and transforming Pluto (2:06 pm EDT) also indicates that we may have a plethora of hidden assets at our disposal that we can draw upon successfully now, if we are only willing to do a little mining. Too, it could be that employing a “soft touch” with others, is our wisest strategy today, especially perhaps on the professional front. Also, giving back to others and showing gratitude for our many blessings, most assuredly helps to multiply or increase our bounty.

COSMIC WATCH:

In wake of yesterday’s potent New Moon, the intensity level remains high, as the Moon continues its passage through “all-or-nothing” Scorpio, where it can prompt more extreme forms of behavior, or the taking of extreme measures. Our keen appetite for unraveling mysteries, solving riddles, digging beneath the surface of things can also bring tangible rewards, along with very dramatic insights. Particularly with the Moon’s monthly conjunction with logical communicator Mercury (10:09 pm EDT), an aspect which allows us to deftly blend our emotional awareness into mesmerizing words or speech.

Our passions and desires are also at a peak level of expression as the Scorpio Moon forms a potent square to assertive Mars in dramatic Leo (10:57 pm EDT), an aspect that also raises the potential for discord or clashes, if we fail to consider other’s sensitivities or needs.

“Courteousness is consideration for others; politeness is the method used to deliver such considerations.” Bryant H. McGill

Famous People with Moon in Scorpio: Steven Spielberg, Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Hurley, Whoopi Golberg

In the News: European leaders finally agreed to a deal to reduce Greece’s debt, early this morning, after convening yesterday for a marathon session. As part of the agreement, private banks have reportedly agreed to voluntarily lower Greek debt held by 50%.

Fascinatingly, Scorpio is the zodiacal sign that governs debt and credit. Yesterday’s New Moon in Scorpio also favorably sextiled transforming Pluto, the modern day ruler of Scorpio, suggesting that some sort of deal might be struck.

Too, we have transiting, fortuitous Jupiter, in money-ruling Taurus, harmoniously trine to Pluto (exact on Friday), a very powerful aspect of transmutation that has a legacy for dramatically changing the landscape around us, especially as it pertains to shared resources (Pluto and Scorpio). As I mentioned yesterday, too, in my blog, Jupiter-Pluto aspects are often linked with mega-money transactions in the collective. (News story from wsj.com) CNBC is also reporting (mid-morning) that the Dow is on track today for its biggest one month percentage gain in the month of October.

Additionally, President Obama announced yesterday that he will authorize changes in federal policy to make college loans more affordable and easier to repay for up to 1.6 million borrowers. (From Washingtonpost.com)

Are you making, or experiencing, any sweeping changes in your life now?

COSMIC WATCH:

“The mystical life is the center of all that I do and all that I think and all that I write.”  William Butler Yeats

The Moon enters “mystical” Pisces (1:13 am EDT) and conjuncts “fantasy” Neptune (2:02 am EDT), the planetary ruler of Pisces. Making the connective thread to “reality” possibly more tenuous for us. Neptune governs our imagination.  It also rules our nocturnal dreams, which we may want to pay more attention to now. Psychologist, Carl Jung, said that we should embrace our dreams as “communications from the unconscious.”   Neptune is also the portal through which we enter “other realms.”

About mid-day, the Pisces Moon’s sextile to transforming Pluto (12:17 pm EDT)  is an opportune time for healing and renewal. Also, what has been hidden from view, may now be revealed.

Later, the Moon’s linkup to abundant Jupiter in sensual Taurus (3:52 pm EDT) puts the pleasures of the earth plane magically within reach. This aspect also helps fuel our optimism.

Famous Birthdays: Former astronaut,  John Glenn, the first American to orbit the Earth, turns 90 today. What I find most intriguing about his horoscope is “otherworld” Neptune, in flashy Leo, is exactly conjunct his 9th house cusp, which is the house of long-distance travel.  He also has Uranus, the planet of aviation that governs the space program and astronauts, exactly trined to transforming Pluto, with the trine being a more harmonious alignment.

Ironically, we presently have transiting Uranus in a more stressful square aspect to Pluto now, with Pluto in “budget-minded” Capricorn. The U.S. space shuttle program (Uranus) will be officially ending (Pluto) this week when Atlantis returns to Earth (Pluto presides over both death and rebirth). Probably not the kind of birthday present John Glenn had in mind.

How do you feel about traveling into outer space? Would you go? Is it a waste of taxpayer money?

“I don’t know what you could say about a day in which you have seen four beautiful sunsets.” John Glenn

Enjoy your Monday!

COSMIC WEATHER:

“I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery than live in a world so small that my mind could comprehend it.” Harry Emerson Fosdick.

It could be that we are feeling more of a sense of “mystery and awe” today, as the reflective Pisces Moon forms a sextile aspect to enigmatic Pluto (9:45 am EDT), the transforming purveyor of life’s many secrets. With Moon-Pluto, we tend to want to go “deep within,” in our noble quest for relevance and higher meaning. This aspect also potentially holds a strong reservoir of healing energy.

Too, with Pisces ruling water, we may want to indulge in a spa treatment, perhaps steam therapy, for removing toxins from our bodies. Pluto rules both toxins and the process of elimination.

Also, we could probably use this same Moon-Pluto energy to do some revamping of our home or office decor, even if we only move a few things around. Sometimes simply moving objects in our environment has the net affect of freeing up stuck energy. For instance, I recently removed a small table from my den that had been sitting by itself for years in a corner. Once I did, I immediately felt a sense of release and movement around me, like a onerous weight had been lifted. I also recycled the table (Pluto rules recycling) by donating it to charity. Giving the chance for the table to also enjoy a new life where it, perhaps, will be greatly appreciated.

Famous Birthdays March 31st: Al Gore (63), DMC (47)

“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the internet.” Al Gore

NEWS UPDATE: The famous “missing cobra” from the New York Bronz Zoo was found safe and alive today at the zoo just as the Moon was forming a harmonious sextile to “Detective Clouseau” Pluto. Pluto rules snakes. Too, whenever Pluto’s ray is activated, we tend to find out about things that have been previously hidden. Pluto is associated with ferreting out secrets. The snake had been missing for a few days.
