Two, very nice, harmonizing trine aspects are occurring today as those of us, in the US, get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving Day:
Mercury in Scorpio trines Neptune in Pisces (4:50 am) – This lovely, more inspirational-type aspect potentially helps us to become more empathic or heart-centered in our conversations or communications. It’s excellent energy for generating overall psychic awareness or for tapping into our intuition. Ideally, we’re feeling more connected with our own inner sense of divinity. Possibly more willing to seeing unifying threads among us all. It’s also an excellent aspect for doing any kind of creative work, or for listening to music, or for maybe relaxing by the sea.
Venus in Capricorn trining Uranus RX in Taurus (1:27 pm): This exciting aspect can motivate us to want to partake in some stimulating or out-of-the-norm social or romantic activities. It can also bring people into our orbit who we might not normally interact with but now find very engaging or even liberating to be around. This galvanizing energy may also present us with sudden opportunities or outlets for financial or professional growth, including the chance to take fresh new approaches to these areas.
The waxing Moon also enters traditionally-minded Capricorn, this morning (7:32 am), where it will remain for the next couple days. This lunar placement helps us to appreciate or draw upon our past experiences, in a positive way.
Numerologically, with it being the 28th day of the month, there’s also greater potential for being able to express leadership qualities, as well as for taking initiative.

“No one has a problem with the first mile of a journey. Even an infant could do fine for a while. But it isn’t the start that matters. It’s the finish line.” Julien Smith
COSMIC WATCH:
Generally speaking, do you think we’re more wired for starting things, or for finishing things? It seems from my personal observation, at least, that most of us get quite excited about beginning something new, especially when it’s something that we’re really looking forward to. But, once the newness of the endeavor wears off – as it inevitably will – completing what we’ve started can quickly become an almost Herculean-sized task for us, in many instances. However, does it necessarily have to be this way, all the time? Or, maybe even, part of the time? Probably, not. At least I would like to think that this is, indeed, the case, as the other reality or scenario seems far too draining, way too rigid or limiting.
Of course, in the end, it may all very well depend upon our own individual frame of mind about a matter, as well as our initial reason or motivation for undertaking a particular activity in the first place. I also think that it can appreciably help out our cause if we’re able to keep our end goal firmly in mind, for the entire duration of an activity, with that single-minded focus acting as a powerful glue that seals all our efforts together until we reach the finish line.
For instance, I’m trying to lower my cholesterol, so each morning I have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, which has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels in the body (I’ve also had good success with this strategy in the past). There are some mornings, of course, when I’m tempted to “fall off the wagon” and maybe have a sausage biscuit or a bagel with cream cheese, especially when I’m out and about. But, most of the time I’m able to pass these things up simply by keeping my attention on my objective for eating the oatmeal, in the first place: to have a lower cholesterol reading when I have my annual physical checkup, next August.
I’m mentioning all of this to you, today, because the Moon is now “void-of-course” in “pioneering” Aries, a time period when the traditional astrological wisdom would suggest is ideal for staying the course, tying up loose ends, finishing what we’ve started – versus initiating anything new. Then, once the Moon enters “practical” Taurus, later this evening (7:28 pm EST), it will have completed its V-O-C phase, and we then have the green light again to move forward with new endeavors.
It may also be kind of fun to casually observe ourselves, today, as we’re completing our projects, to see what’s coming up for us in the process. See what’s taking place with our energy levels. Are they going up, or down, as we finish things off? I have a sneaking suspicion that our energy levels will likely rise because we’re feeling a sense of accomplishment by bringing matters to a completion. Unfinished tasks, whether we’re aware of it or not, tend to weigh us down, or rob of us our energy, suggesting to me that completing things is really in our best interests, from a survival standpoint, because it’s a way for us to maximize or preserve our physical life force. Maybe that’s also why many of us feel guilty when we don’t finish things – we intuitively know that we’re sabotaging ourselves and putting our life force potentially at risk.
With that said, we probably don’t need to complete every single thing that we start – as that could very well be counterproductive, and highly impractical – as in the case of not wanting to finish something because we no longer have interest in it, or it no longer serves a worthy purpose for us. But things that are key to us, we should really make an effort to complete. Too, this not only helps us to live in integrity with ourselves, it also signals to our subconscious that we’re able to follow through with things, which is an important element if we’re asking the Universe to supply us with more abundance or prosperity, or better health, etc. in our lives. If we show the Powers That Be that we can be effective stewards of our resources, and wise in the allocation of our time and talent, it would seem that we would have a greater likelihood of having positive things flow to us, as there would be less resistance in our energy field to stem the flow of the incoming good.
Getting back to the astrology: We still also have the playful, romantic, highly creative “Venus-Mars” conjunction in effect, in Aries, which was exact, early this morning, so we may definitely want to save some time for pleasurable or fun pursuits, as well, today. This is a great influence for socializing, parties, shopping, fashion, or taking in the arts. Also, a perfect backdrop for the Oscars in Hollywood, tonight. This Venus-Mars influence actually sort of lingers around until mid-March, as these two planet will be staying in fairly close range with each other, until then. We may also want to check to see what house in our personal charts this configuration is occurring in as that will be the area in our lives where conditions may be easing a bit, or where we may be seeing new opportunities for expressing our passion, or for enlisting the cooperation and support of others, as Mars-Venus energy can help us in strengthening our power of attraction for whatever it is that we desire. It can also help us connect more effortlessly with other people.
Question for Today: What do you think would be a real “game-changer” for you to complete or finish?

Cosmic Word Of The Day:Retro
(Mercury turns retrograde.)
Retro: 1) of or designating a style of an earlier time 2) denoting something associated with or revived from the past
“Mercury turns retro in Capricorn today at five degrees.”
“Please, would you kindly repeat that for me? You say that the mercury is reading what? Five degrees? It feels more like about 70 in here to me. Unless I’m having a hot flash. Your mercury in your thermometer must be wrong, lady.”
“No, I’m not talking about the temperature. I’m talking about the p-l-a-n-e-t Mercury. Mercury goes retrograde in Capricorn today, at five degrees. Near malefic Pluto and hotheaded Mars, which means…”
“I’m sorry. But, I still don’t quite understand you. You also appear to be moving your upper right lip kinda’ funny when you speak. Are the planets making you do that? Or have you been, perhaps, hanging out with President Obama? Please, if you could. Repeat whatever you are saying, just one more time. The point you are making about the hot temperature on Mars is what? And how does it affect our hair?”
“Not Mars! Mercury. I was talking about M-E-R-C-U-R-Y! And, nothing about the temperature, or our hair! Mercury the planet, up in the sky, is going retrograde! 🙂
Yes, a sweet, nauseating preview of possible coming attractions the next 20 days as communicator Mercury, which also rules travel, goes retro, or seemingly backwards in motion, until Dec. 30th.
Mercury retrograde is a period of routine maintenance for our minds, diabolically visited upon us by a wicked cosmos.
It is set aside as a period for us to “review” and “reflect” upon our earlier thoughts and decisions, with a probable eye to “revising” whatever it is that we originally hatched or incubated inside our moist little reptilian brains.
Mercury retrograde characteristically correlates with misunderstandings, or general mental confusion. So it’s always a good idea to clarify and double-check things, especially travel plans. Also, we may want to double-check the thermostat. Just in case.

“Being in therapy is great. I spend an hour just talking about myself. It’s kinda like being the guy on a date.” Caroline Rhea
“Cosmic Word of The Day”: Therapy
Definition: 1) the treatment of disease or disorders, as by some remedial, rehabilitating, or curative process
Origin: 1840-50; NL therapia
COSMIC WEATHER:
We’re still in the clutches of the Cardinal T-Cross involving the usual suspects.
At this point, I’m thinking therapy, professional therapy is needed to deal with the maze of heavyweight issues we’re grappling with. Including the colossal issue of the falling sky and the matter of the continuing clouds camping out in our backyards, that are impeding our heroic attempts to meticulously mow and edge our lawns.
I actually mowed the grass a little while ago, but it just about killed me to do it, and I’m still shaking like a leaf. I never realized how traumatic poor visibility can be when you’re trying to mow the lawn with a frickin’ cloud in your face, and the dogs are barking, and fur is flying all around.
With the Moon’s entrance into communicative Gemini today (12:54 pm EDT), I’m thinking that we may first want to start out with “Talk Therapy,” for a couple days, instead of anything more invasive. Then, if that fails us, we will probably have no choice but to embark on the more invasive treatments such as electric-shock or lobotomies. But let’s hope that it doesn’t come to those more drastic measures.
One other dire issue that needs to be dealt with today is the matter of Love Goddess Venus near the end of Virginal Virgo. She’s in a complicated quinqunx relationship with Deceptive, Trickster Neptune. This sort of relationship is always sick and doomed and ego-denying and can only result in Venus being seriously lied to, which could have the net affect of ultimately putting her virginity at risk. And we don’t want that to happen. Ever.
Too, because of the expected fallout from this Venus-Neptune aspect, all of us are severely at risk now in our personal love relationships for approximately the next 24 to 48 hours. We need to be very careful that we are not deceiving ourselves or being deceived by others. Even by George Clooney, which is a real shame. Breaks my heart, George.

News Update: Crap! Things are much, much worse than I originally thought and predicted yesterday regarding the sky falling and the corresponding gaping black holes. Have you heard the latest? Now, apparently, the Sun is also exploding in the sky, at a rapid rate, and will be falling to Earth today and tomorrow!!!
So, now, we not only have the blue sky and clouds descending in our backyards, but also big chunks of the red hot burning Sun!!! I can only imagine what the Sun will do to our lawns! It will be the final straw, I’m sure of it!!!
Now all grass, everywhere, frickin’ everywhere, will have that God-awful, tinged brown, burnout look to it!
From Wikipedia Current Events: “On August 1, 2010, scientists at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, using images from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, observed a series of four large “Coronal Mass Ejections” emanating from the Earth-facing hemisphere. They were expected to strike the Earth’s electromagnetic field sometime between August 4 and early August 5.
All four were described as “large” and, according to scientists, possessed enough energy to cause aurorae to be observed by the naked eye in non-polar regions…Aside from the visual effects of the CME series, scientists also fear that electric impulses caused by disruptions in the magnetic field due to the ionized particles may damage infrastructures such as electrical grids and telephone lines not protected against induced magnetic current.
According to Leon Golub, an astronomer at CFA: ‘This eruption is directed right at us and is expected to get here early in the day on August 4th!!!It’s the first major Earth-directed eruption in some time. When such an expulsion reaches Earth, it interacts with the planet’s magnetic field and can create a geomagnetic storm. Solar particles stream down the field lines toward Earth’s poles. Those particles crash with atoms of nitrogren and oxygen in the atmosphere, which then glow like little neon signs. Sky watchers in the northern U.S. and other countries should look toward the north late Tuesday or early Wednesday for rippling ‘curtains’ of green and red light.”
Curtains, alright!!! It will probably be curtains for all of us today!!! What the government doesn’t tell us!!! Talking to us about buying electric cars. Heck: There won’t be any electricity left after today! The grids are all going to be destroyed!!! Frickin’ Cardinal T-Cross!!!
Famous August 4th Leo Birthdays: Jeff Gordon (39), President Barack Obama (49)
Happy Birthday, Mr. President! I’ll be discussing your horoscope soon, once we’re through this more radioactive phase of the T-Cross and my personal schedule calms down and allows me a chance to review your stars. Till then, sir, my advice to you is pretty much the same as it is for everyone else during these turbulent times: Continue with the deep breathing and the melodious chanting, ‘Yes we can, yes we can..’ until further notice.
