“You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do.” Carl Jung
With motivating Mars and spontaneous Uranus coming to a conjunction, early tomorrow morning (1:19 am), at 29 degrees of trailblazing Aries, we may feel more of an urgent desire to take some kind of finalizing action(s) now, in a bid to change or reshuffle our world, or to attempt to deal with ongoing or fast-developing situations. Embracing new approaches, or fashioning new responses, may especially be what is required of us here. When planets reach the end of a zodiacal sign, there’s also usually a culmination of activities, or a type of summation occurring, of whatever has transpired while the planet(s) has been progressing through the sign. It’s also possible that the kind of action (Mars) we take now will be something that serves to make us feel freer or more unencumbered (Uranus) as individuals. Or that, perhaps, helps to further showcase our individuality, or unique achievements.
Ideally, on a collective level, actions may also be taken now that are seemingly more liberating or cutting-edge for the collective as a whole, as Uranus is a transpersonal planet that can affect major societal or cultural changes or reforms. Additionally, Mars-Uranus energy can also denote taking measures to preserve our existing freedoms. Mars enters earthy, stabilizing Taurus on Valentine’s Day, and Uranus re-enters Taurus on March 6th. after initially wading into the sign for a few months, last year.
On the shadow side, Mars conjunct Uranus can sometimes trigger greater feelings of restlessness, impulsiveness, and impatience. It can foster unpredictability, in general. Collectively, it’s associated with uprisings, revolts, and or a general state of lawlessness. As a quality or kind of energy, Mars-Uranus is often described as being highly combustible in nature, either in a literal sense, such as a fire or an explosion. Or, symbolically, such as blowing our fuses, temperment-wise. At any rate, it’s probably not a good time to tinker around with electrical wiring for amusement now, unless you know what you are doing. Even then…
Earth is a small town with many neighborhoods in a very big universe.” Ron Garan
On May 12, 1930, Mars and Uranus were also exactly conjunct in pioneering Aries when The Adler Planetarium opened to the public in Chicago, Illinois. The opening of The Adler Planetarium was a very big deal, at the time, because it was the very first planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. Uranus, as the modern day ruler of Aquarius, governs such things as astronomy, astrophysics, and space travel. Interestingly, retired astronaut Mark Kelly also announced today that he is running for the U.S. Senate in Arizona, potentially injecting a “hands-on” otherworldly view of things into the public arena.

“The gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge.”Albert Einstein, a Pisces Sun.
Fantasy Neptune, ruler of our imagination and also the urge for escape, is captaining our ‘good ship lollipop’ today in oceanic Pisces. This is because not only do we have a Neptune-ruled, dreamy Pisces Moon all day, we also have the Sun in nesting Cancer trining inspirational Neptune. And, energizer Mars in idea Gemini is squaring Neptune.
With Neptune’s illusory ray so prominent now it is much easier for us to “go adrift,” so we need to be extra mindful about holding ourselves accountable with respect to whatever it is that we want to accomplish today. Although, at the same time, it may also be wise for us not to stack too much on our plates, if we can. Especially work that calls for strict attention to details or facts and figures.
Too, we do have the Pisces Moon void of course all day, so it is best to stick with old projects instead of undertaking anything new. We also are encouraged to focus our energies on more creative venues (film, photography, painting, dance, poetry). Immersion in more spiritual or mystical pursuits also serves us well now, as Neptune is our portal to Divine forces.
Also, if something seems a little fishy to us today, chances are good that it is and we may need to arm ourselves with a healthy dose of skepticism. Neptune, on the shadow side, characteristically has a way of pulling the proverbial wool over our eyes. It is the planet that is formally linked with deception, either self-deception or deception from others (con men). It is also tied with scandal and weird incidents in general (especially the Mars square Neptune aspect). Often the kind of strange stuff that we hear about, that has us scratching our heads, wondering what in the world a person was thinking? Neptune’s classic calling card. 🙂
In the News:President Obama is reportedly planning on addressing the nation tonight from the White House to discuss his plan for the withdrawal of armed forces from Afghanistan, something which is quite fascinating from an astrological standpoint, as we have Mars, governing war and the military, exactly square to Neptune which tends to act as a dissolving agent (diminishing the troop strength in this instance). Neptune is, in fact, known as the “Great Dissolver.”
From research I have done over the years, too, Neptune’s ray often figures prominently in historic peace efforts and treaty signings, reflective perhaps of Neptune’s overriding desire for “oneness,” or for a unified world “without division.”
One more thing. Gotta’ love this “fishy” Neptunian headline in the news today: “Chinese Find 55-foot sea monster!” Reportedly, the “sea monster” washed up on a beach in Guangdong, China. It’s decaying body weighed in at 4.5 tons. Unfortunately, the decomposition was too advanced to ID the remains.
Enjoy your Wednesday! But, be careful about drinking too much of the hallucinatory, Neptunian “Kool-Aid.” Don’t want you to have a hangover. Always trying to do our best to look out for you here. 🙂

Mission accomplished! Nearly ten years after the 9/11 terror attack, a small team of U.S. forces (Navy Seals) raided a compound in Pakistan yesterday and reportedly killed Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind 9/11.Warrior Mars was exactly conjunct “lucky” Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, in military-ruling Aries, something that we have only had about two or three times in the last hundred years in this sign. (BTW, one of those times occurred back on January 6, 1940, during WWII, when General Semyon Suomussalmi was made head of all the Russian forces, a major shift in military command at the time.)
We also had a stellium of six planets (also referring here to the Moon as a planet) in fighter Aries yesterday, another rarity that we won’t have again for at least a dozen or more years. Of course, having such a heavy emphasis in Aries always ups the ante, potentially, for “military-type showdowns.” We continue to have five planets in Aries until May 11th. (Too, the day before this raid, there was the high-profile, unfortunate loss of life in Libya when the NATO strike force killed Moammar Gadhafi’s youngest son and three grandchildren, which garnered worldwide attention. That day, we also had Venus opposite Saturn, an aspect often associated with separation and sorrow.)
I have been blogging here the last few days about this special “Mars-Jupiter” aspect and how it tends to coincide with the occurrence of more singular, large-scale, high-profile events taking place in the collective (the Royal Wedding and the beatification of John Paul II; Jupiter also rules royalty, religion and clergy). Jupiter, the expansive urge, tends to magnify the size and scope of everything. Mars (the ruler of the aggressive urge and soldiers) generally serves to energize or “fire up” whatever it is aligned with. With these two forces merged together in “militaristic” Aries, Osama Bin Laden, the “most wanted person” on the planet, is finally captured and killed. A gargantuan (Jupiter) feat by any standard.
The Mars-Jupiter energy perennially tends to fuel our self-confidence and is additionally associated with risk-taking and adventure, especially in bravado Aries. Aries is also a zodiacal sign that is linked with “historic firsts,” “record-setting” and “discoveries.” Osama Bin Laden’s demise is also surely a huge (Jupiter) boost for the psyche of the U.S. armed forces (Mars). Already some are calling it a “game changer.”
Yesterday, in my blog, too, I mentioned that on, an individual level, this very dynamic influence gave us a marvelous, rare chance to “reinvent ourselves,” with Aries ruling our “self-identity” and “self-discovery.” Of course, viewing Aries on more of a collective level, as the sign of the military, this same aspect could be regarded as a favorable time to “reinvent,” or at least “retool,” the perception of the U.S. armed forces. Mars-Jupiter also coinciding here, of course, with the successful military raid on the compound where Osama had been hiding.
Also heard on the news today that President Obama gave the orders for the raid on Friday, when we had the illuminating Sun in Taurus harmoniously trined to Pluto in Capricorn. “Master Spy” Pluto, as ruler of secretive Scorpio, is associated with detection, investigation, and ferreting out hidden information. It denotes “hidden forces” and also “terrorism” and extremist activities. With Sun trine Pluto, we often are privy to finding out about clandestine affairs and plots. It can also often be a very transforming, regenerating (Pluto) influence, with Pluto ruling both death and rebirth. The Sun also represents world leaders and presidents. Capricorn, too, rules government.
Were you surprised to hear about Osama Bin Laden’s death? Did you ever think that he would someday be caught?

“Once an organization loses its spirit of pioneering and rests on its early work, its progress stops.”Thomas J. Watson Sr.
The “big planet on the block” Jupiter, bolts back into fiery “Aries the Ram,” the first sign of the zodiac, on January 22nd, where it will take up residency until June 4th. (Jupiter was briefly in this sign earlier, from June 6th – Sept. 8th, 2010.)
Jupiter signifies the “expansive urge.” He represents knowledge, opportunities, abundance, higher education. He also rules publishing, travel abroad, foreign cultures, advertising and promotion. He’s the welcome “luck factor” in our lives. When Jupiter’s nestled into “trailblazing” Aries, which is ruled by masculine Mars, we are eager for “new beginnings.” Especially in partaking in “solo flights” on our own, in keeping with the pioneering, “self-discovery” aspect of this sign.
With Jupiter in Aries, we have marvelous ability to re-invent ourselves and we thrive at the prospect of competition, and making it first to the finish line. Aries is the zodiacal sign that rules sports and athletics. Whereas Jupiter in Pisces was about “merging” and the “dissolution of boundaries,” Jupiter in Aries denotes more of a separatist, “me-first” mentality. There is much more enthusiasm and self-confidence to us, with this placement, and consequently that is part of the reason why new doors can open up for us now. Also, in March, “liberator” Uranus will be moving back into Aries where it will stay for the next seven years, which will further add to our ability to thrive and survive on our own, and be self-sufficient
With Jupiter in Aries (also Uranus), we will likely see a proliferation of entrepreneurship, fueled by a strong desire to “do things on our own.” Too, the challenging economy will continue to have impact here with this. There will also likely be growth or expansion in the military. Individuals may even feel more of a need to “protect” or “arm” themselves, with groups of individuals forming their own militia. Again, the “warrior” Mars influence at play. With Jupiter also ruling publishing, it is very likely that “self-publishing” efforts will continue to grow and flourish, perhaps even more “blogging” by businesses being done as a way to attract new customers.
To further discern Jupiter’s impact in our own personal horoscopes, we will want to see what house in our chart Jupiter is transiting, as an indication of what area in our life may be poised for “new starts.”
The “shadow side” to Jupiter in Aries can correlate with a “lack of focus.” For example, it’s very easy for us, in our Aries’ eagerness, to take on too many projects and, as a result, have a difficult time bringing matters to a successful, timely conclusion. Also, we can act too hastily or be impulsive. Or, be “too full of ourselves” and not consider others’ positions.

“Sex is good, but not as good as fresh, sweet corn.” Garrsion Keillor
COSMIC WEATHER:
“Health-conscious” Virgo Sun opposes “Over-indulgent” Jupiter and also “You Can’t Force Me To Eat My Vegetables!” Uranus in “Please Don’t Hold Me Accountable” Pisces. Dietary discipline may very much be needed today. Especially with the “Liquor-Friendly” Pisces Moon wanting to substitute tequilas instead of fresh fruit for dessert. Too, with today’s more “unsettled energy” pattern around us now, we may all be wanting a few stiff drinks by the end of the day. (Try breathing slowly and meditatively chanting instead. Remember, the Moon is still in “mystically-minded” Pisces.)
NEWS UPDATE:
With the Virgo Sun opposing the Jupiter and Uranus conjunction (forcing Equality Issues) in Underdog Pisces today, the U.S. Senate is slated to cast a pivotal vote on the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. Uranus is usually emphasized when “gay rights” issues come to the forefront, as Uranus embodies “freedom of expression” within the framework of “groups and the collective.”

“This is the true joy of life, the being used up for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one.” George Bernard Shaw
The Contemplative but Fantasy Prone Pisces Moon is still burning gardenia incense (until 9:59 pm EDT) in a bid to keep the passionate desire going between Venus and Mars in Lover’s Lane Libra.
But things are also a little complicated on the romantic front because every few minutes the Cleanaholic Virgo Sun sticks his big head into the bedroom to remind everyone that there’s oodles of vacuuming to do.
The Virgo Sun’s trine to Deep Transforming Agent Pluto has him also believing that what is really needed here is some deep steam cleaning of all the carpets and upholstery.
The Moon enters Active Aries later in the day (10:49 pm EDT) at which time the pace quickens considerably. In fact, we get so carried away with the excitement of the raw energy that we start to even vacuum underneath the bed sheets, putting a big, golden smile on the Virgo Sun’s face, while simultaneously causing expletives and threats to spew out of our “formerly sleeping” partner’s mouth. And we’re not even in bed with Mel Gibson!
“We have some very cool, life-changing energy around us in the guise of the Sun in Employment Virgo trine to Potent Pluto in Career Capricorn. Today could be one of those days in which we finally figure out or discover “our true calling” in life. It’s also a good time to apply or interview for a job, also realizing that stuff could get postponed etc, down the road, with the Mercury Retrograde in Virgo.
Also with the Mystical Pisces Moon and Past Life Pluto activated, this is a dynamite time for regression efforts. Or, for holding seances. Especially for channeling deceased politicians and bureaucrats with Pluto’s placement in governmental Capricorn. Perhaps, too, when the Moon enters Conquering Aries, we can try to connect with transitioned pioneers or former military leaders. I’m thinking maybe, General George Patton here? Or perhaps Genghis Khan?
If you also have any type of research to do, or better yet, spying to do, today is definitely the day to do it. Probably also superb for channeling former spies. Maybe “Maxwell Smart?”
In The News: A Sun-Pluto “spy story” for today. The NYT.com is reporting that the aide to President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan, implicated in a corruption investigation, is actually being paid by our own Central Intelligence Agency. Mohammed Zia Salehi, the chief of administration for the National Security Council, has apparently been on the CIA payroll for many years, although it is not known what his precise duties are. Pluto rules spies and espionage and when it’s ray is activated is often when we get “the real scoop” on things. It’s ray is activated today.

“It is not by muscle, speed, or physical dexterity that great things are achieved, but by reflection, force of character, and judgment.” Marcus Tullius Cicero
Cosmic Word of The Day: Muscle
Definition: 1) a tissue composed of cells or fibers, the contraction of which produces movement in the body 2) power of force esp. of a coercive nature 3) lean meat 4) a necessary or fundamental thing, quality
Origin: 1525-1535; < L musculus lit., little mouse (from fancied resemblance to some muscles)
COSMIC WEATHER:
We’re sporting more of a “macho”mindset today, shifting from saintly Pisces to muscle-bound Aries (9:45 am EDT). Especially with the active Aries Moon conjuncting “Loose Cannon” Uranus and squaring off with “Terminator” Pluto. The Moon’s trajectory today also fires up that whole T-Cross drama in the sky again, adding to our feeling of restlessness and the desire to maybe want to “kick some butt.”
Overall, it’s generally a good day to be outside in the open air moving around, giving our muscles a thorough workout with assorted physical activities.
Too, a chief concern today is with our Aries-ruled military and what they might be up to in wake of all this testosterone-injected energy permeating the ether. There’s particularly a growing level of fear that another military Higher-Up might decide to candidly talk to a member of the press again. Although, with conversational Mercury still stewing in the food and family sign of Cancer, it’s doubtful any disclosure would stray much beyond the areas of dining and genealogy.
For instance, there could be a revelation made regarding the best place to go for a burger and beer in Afghanistan without having to feel compelled to leave a hefty tip for the Taliban. Or, possibly there might be a breach concerning a particular military commander who has a thing for tight-fitting jeans. But, likely nothing to get anyone canned by the President.

The Universe is being a big royal pain in the butt putting all this heavy stuff on my humble plate to decipher, after I’ve been vacuuming all day and am plum tired. Plus, I’m almost out of vacuum bags. A terrifying thought.
Why the heck I picked this type of career this time around is beyond me. All I know is next time I’m coming back as a rich politician with all the perks on Capitol Hill. I’m sick and tired of working so hard and getting so very little respect.
I can’t even afford a good vacuum to suck up all the filth and dirt around me. Instead I have had to hire a poor Democrat to do that and he’s threatening to go on strike for low wages.
Well, I’m sorry. But times are tough and people have had to cut way, way back on their fortune-telling expenditures and that’s all I can afford to pay. Plus I noticed an elephant-size dustball was missed in the corner of the spare bedroom. Not very thorough. I bet a Republican would have done a much better job and would have been much more accountable.
Also, would you believe my crystal ball has even signed a warrant for my arrest for defaming it the other night for saying the pea soup in it looked like green Kool-Aid?
Well, again, I’m sorry Crystal Ball, but a spade is a spade and I call things as I see them!
Geez.
Crystal Ball, get frickin’ over it!
I also know the Ball is probably just trying to litigate to get money from me, but the gig is not going to work. I’m wise to you, Ball. I can see through you, except when you’re having sex and you’re all fogged up. Or, like the other night, when Neptune crossed your path and you turned “liar, liar, pants on fire green.”
What I think I’m also going to do here is re-post the green Crystal Ball photo from the earlier blog in question and let you take a look at it, as evidence to clear me.
Now, doesn’t that look like green Kool-Aid to you? It doesn’t look like pea soup green, does it?
I rest my case.
The Crystal Ball is nothing but an opportunist and a leech. Trying to defraud me of my hard-earned money.
Anyway, the gig is over for all of us today, I’m sad to say. This is because another Crystal Ball that I have is revealing to me two detectives hovering over a counter at a doughnut shop in Fargo, North Dakota. Whenever that Ball shows me this scenario it means we are all close to being busted, especially if both of the detectives are eating jelly rolls, which in this case, they are. I worry less when they’re eating chocolate doughnuts.
Plus, as corroborating evidence for this clairvoyant prediction, we have fast-talker Mercury square law enforcement Mars today which always screams “busted” big time! Too, Mars is in meticulous, highly detailed Virgo, so he probably has photos and fingerprints of all of our indiscretions. Mercury in loudmouth Gemini has also no doubt ratted on us and helped Mars to develop the photos and process the fingerprints. We have to put up with Mercury’s little butt for two more weeks in this tattle-tale sign.
No, expect to pay some measure of bail today to reclaim your freedom after you’re busted. That will probably end up putting you in a pissy mood for the rest of the day, so watch your temper as well.
On the plus side, we do have lovable Venus in nurturing Cancer wanting to pick up elderly men in retirement centers today by way of Venus’s sextile to Saturn in Virgo. Again, this sextile influence will only work if there is enough Viagra to go around for all the men in the center. Saturn is also in that odd quinqunx relationship to Drug-Purveyor Neptune, so I’m not sure the supply will be sufficient. Venus and Saturn may need to resort to more natural methods, but with Mercury square sexy Mars there could be some problems here and fuses may be too short for total gratification. Again, bigger is always better.
Getting busted. Posting bail. Pissy mood. Also, if you have any free time left, another B-I-G day for breakthrough discoveries, hula hoop type inventions, serious investigations, figuring things out. Try to refrain, however, from launching any full-scale wars.
The matter of the Venus-Saturn quest for geriatric sex. I imagine there will be some rekindling of the old glory days among the guys.
In the News:
In my blog yesterday, I wrote tongue and cheek about symbolically digging up and uncovering dirt, how that may be appropriate now with inquisitive Mercury in Gemini and energetic Mars in analytical “clean freak” Virgo, both superb placements for fact-finding and analysis. I also mentioned the monumental Jupiter-Uranus conjunction which facilitates sudden realizations.
Did you hear about the Arlington National Cemetery scandals that were reported in the media on Thursday? Over 200 military graves have problems with misidentification or improper record keeping, plus there are other anomalies at the cemetery. Heads have already started to roll there. Unfortunately, I may have been onto something inadvertently about “the dirt” on another level (the graves) and didn’t even know it.
Aries is also the zodiacal sign that rules the military. I think this is yet another manifestation of the Jupiter-Uranus in Aries conjunction which can yield some very wild findings and discoveries, especially with Mars in Virgo in the background doing the thorough investigating. I think probably we have a lot of more of this type of thing ahead of us. Also there is increasing investigation and scrutiny into the BP oil spill and what really went on there and whether our government may have lied to us.
This Arlington Cemetery scandal also hit with Mercury separating from deception Neptune, often a time when we can hear about weird stuff that may have been a cover-up. Too, transiting Mercury was applying to an exact square to Mars when this story broke. Mars is also connected to war and military issues as the planetary ruler of Aries. I have observed in my astrological research whenever we have strong Mars aspects, usually the square aspects, we have breaking news stories that are often unprecedented in nature. Mars rules aggression, too, so often the stories have this element to them in some capacity.
This update: The NYT is reporting that the Pope today begged forgiveness from God and victims of child sexual abuse by priests and vowed that everything would be done in the Church to prevent this situation from ever happening again. The Pope’s remarks came during a homily in St. Peter’s square to end the Church’s “Year of the Priest” celebrations. The Pope also said that the Church would enact stronger controls on choosing men who enter the priesthood.
These remarks coming from the Pope are coinciding with the exact square today from Mercury in Gemini to Mars in the “chastity sign” of Virgo the Virgin. Mars not only rules aggression, as I mentioned earlier, it also rules sex, and Mercury rules younger people, so symbolically, the “square aspect” also captures the abuse. The priests “are busted,” their activities caught, going along with the “arrest theme” of today’s blog. We are also coming off that exact square from Mercury to Neptune which would symbolize “communication from the Pope” and it can be pertaining to deceptive or hidden cover-up matters (Neptune).
Mercury also rules words and conversation, so we have the airing or communication of this topic in public. As I also wrote earlier in my blog, Mercury Mars has a way of disclosing “firsts” or unprecedented events, especially now with the backdrop of the Jupiter/Uranus discovery conjunction.
Saturn in “pure, fix the problem Virgo” is also moving into that exact quinqunx or adjustment aspect again with Neptune and Neptune often represents the Pope and spiritual matters and Saturn lays down the law and can be very punishing. This aspect, though, on the positive side, could bring about the changes the Pope is referring to, as the quinqunx here can be powerful. In the meantime, it can also be a very painful time, when our dreams and hopes (Neptune) can temporarily dissolve under the press of reality (Saturn).
I think this Saturn-Neptune influence is also really waking us up now to the fact of the tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico and we’re all very disgusted about it and feeling very disillusioned and very depressed because so little seems to be getting done here in the way of stopping the flow of oil. And, we also don’t know who may be lying to us – but expect full clarification here in the weeks to come with Mars now in investigation Virgo! (Neptune rules the sea and oil, deception; Saturn rules depression, often a fallout from Neptunian-ruled disillusionment.) This is a hard karma aspect for the planet, but we will get through this. Jupiter and Uranus portends great things, interventions at some point. Wonder what kind of miracles and records at the 2010 World Cup? Aries also rules sports!

“I see my path, but I don’t know where it leads. Not knowing where I’m going is what inspires me to travel it.” Rosalia de Castro
TheMooninSagittarius resonates to the inner explorer in each of us today. And, with Uranus now crossed over into the new frontiers territory of Aries, new desires are beckoning us. Old dreams are rekindled.
We are not quite sure where we are headed or where we may end up. All we know is the journey has begun.
Some of us, too, may be scared by the prospect of not knowing exactly where our path may be leading us.
However, we must know and remember that in order to truly grow and flourish with respect to our own truth, and to ultimately endure, we have to be willing to venture outside of our comfort zone, even if we only take the proverbial “baby steps” in the beginning.
And, we are not alone. Uranus in Aries will be taking each of us by the hand and paternally guiding us along the way, whispering in our ear about new possibilities.
Of course, too, in more short-fused Aries, cantankerous Uranus’s soft whisper may turn into a thunderous shout, if we do not heed his revelations for our lives.
In current news:
The U.S. House voted Thursday to let the Defense Department repeal the ban on gay and bisexual people from serving in the military, a huge step toward ending the 1993 ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ law.
This vote came with liberator Uranus, the planet associated with gay rights and social equality issues, at the tale end of Pisces. Pisces is a compassionate sign that is often associated with civil rights and watching over the downtrodden.
I thought the timing of this matter was rather symbolic, indicating that while equality here on this matter has been a long struggle, at the end of the day, we can finally know and trust that it is possible to indeed change the status quo, if only we keep fighting for what we believe in.
Aries also rules war and the military. With Uranus in Aries, we will now likely see the dawning of a new day whereby gays and bisexuals can proudly defend the U.S. without fear of reprisal.
What a spectacular new beginning for our country, and for the world, and what a glorious way to mark Uranus’s grand entrance into Aries.
What, of course, would be even far more glorious would be no reason for America, or for any country, to ever have to go to war again. But, will that day ever come? We’ve got to believe that it will.

“First learn the meaning of what you say, and then speak.” Epictetus.
Can you imagine, if each of us abided by that simple philosophy, how much quieter our world would be, in terms of sheer stillness? Especially on a day when the Moon enters Gemini, the “communication sign?”
Anyway, some food for thought today as the Moon switches from determined Taurus to breezy, noisy Gemini (9:18 am EDT). With the Moon here, we are much more restless and curious and want to be on the go.
We are also, theoretically, more talented at multi-tasking now with the duality of The Twins. However, with both mental Mercury and the Sun still weighed down in focused Taurus, this may not quite be the case today.
Still, a good day for errand-running, attending to emails, correspondence, reading, short trips.
And good for speaking, with some qualifications as noted above.
Event in history on this date:
On May 14, 1973, (Frontiero v. Richardson) the U.S. Supreme Court approved equal rights to females in the military. Included here, the Court decided that benefits given by the U.S. Military could not be given out differently because of gender.
Check out the cool cosmic energy backdrop for the Court’s decision then:
1) Expansive Jupiter was traveling through Aquarius, the futuristic sign of the collective, that is concerned with equality for all. Usually, wherever Jupiter is we have increased opportunities for the affairs ruled by the sign it is passing through, so hence, more chance for equal rights.
2) Saturn, Keeper of the Status Quo, was in intellectual Gemini and exactly harmoniously trine to liberating Uranus in Libra, the sign of the courts. Uranus in Libra helped to broaden out the former way of thinking (Saturn) here and put the issue of equality on the table. (Uranus rules Aquarius.)
3) Transformational Pluto had just entered court-ruling Libra. On the day of the decision, transiting Venus in Gemini was also favorably trine to Pluto. Venus depicts females. So, we correspondingly had a sweeping ruling involving women by the Court. Pluto is also synonymous with historic firsts.
4) Finally, feminine Venus was also square masculine Mars in Pisces, so we had the “gender issue” and “battle of the sexes” symbolically playing out here. Mars also rules the military. Squares meanwhile force actions.
Too, Mars in compassionate Pisces is more of a “spiritual warrior” placement. It is more concerned with fighting for civil rights when it is in this sign, as idealistic Pisces represents disenfranchised groups, or persons who are suffering. Mars therefore was temporarily more aligned with the cause of the female underdog passing through Pisces than it might normally be.
Enjoy your Friday! Remember, “know” the meaning of what you say, before you speak it.
