Cosmic Weather:

“Liberation means you don’t have to be silenced.” Toni Morrison

Something unexpected or novel could be a catalyst, or serve as fodder, for sending us off in a potentially stimulating or liberating new direction that we maybe had not consciously anticipated. This is also a good time to perhaps fashion fresh approaches to old problems or stalemate situations as the innovative Mars-Uranus energy tends to awaken both our “inner tinkerer” and “inner reformer.”

Intellectual Mercury is also quinqunx Pluto Rx supplying us with, among other things, plenty of curiosity regarding what lies below the surface of matters. Archetypally, intense Mercury-Pluto energy can often operate a bit like a dog with a bone in that once it grabs ahold of an idea or a strategy, it doesn’t let go.

Waxing Luna is also in her home sign of nurturing Cancer, all day, so we are naturally attracted to outlets now that draw out or play to our emotions.

(Mars in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus, at 2:48 am; Mercury in Gemini quinqux Pluto Rx in Capricorn, 12:26 am.)

*All times EDT.

On This Day in History: On May 25, 1927, Henry Ford announces that he is ending production of the Model T Ford, a car that’s credited with “putting the world on wheels.” Reportedly, the vehicle was discontinued because it had become technologically obsolete.

In the astrology, that day, the empowering Sun was in “transportation-ruling” Gemini and applying to a one-degree opposition to “curtailing” Saturn in futuristic Sagittarius. Sun-Saturn aspects, particularly the opposition, are often associated with phasing out what is no longer working or essential for us.

Meanwhile, on the very next day, May 26th, when the Sun-Saturn opposition was exact, Henry Ford and the Ford Motor Company produced the last – and 15th million – Model T Ford / Tin Lizzie.

Remember and Honor this Memorial Day. Please be safe and well!

Cosmic Weather:

“There are as many worlds as there are kinds of days, and as an opal changes its colors and its fire to match the nature of a day, so do I.” John Steinbeck

Today is an especially auspicious time to be led by our curiosity or that more fluid aspect of our Being that is open or receptive to discovery or new possibilities. Additionally, there can be a strong yearning to depart from our routines or to free ourselves of our inhibitions or hangups. (Mars trine Uranus)

Too, while it’s also possible that we may experience some kind of prickly pushback from the past as we nudge ourselves forward (Mars square Chiron), that resistance doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to stay put right where we are, but rather that we may simply need to just gradually ease our way into any new arena now, while perhaps being mindful of and fully compliant with the posted speed limit signs industriously erected by our very own endearing, highly experienced psyches, presumably for our own good. After all, Mars is in Saturn-ruled Capricorn now and we all know how Karma Lord Saturn likes for us to cautiously step on the brakes (pragmatically capitalize on our past) when we’re rounding any curves (meeting up with the new).

Tarot Card For The Day: The Two of Cups. This card suggests the power that is generated when two people come together. It can also represent, more abstractly, the joining or pairing of opposites, the integrating of the conscious with the unconscious, Chiron with Uranus.

Numerology For Today: The number “21” represents inspiration and creative self-expression.

Born On This Day: Anais Nin, in 1903, a French-Cuban American diarist, essayist, novelist, and writer of short stories and erotica. (d. 1977) Wikipedia

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”- AN

Hope it’s a good one!

Cosmic Weather:

(New Moon in Gemini at 12 degrees, 6:01 am)

(Mercury in Gemini sextiles Vesta in Aries, 9:08 am)

*All times EDT

“The more I read, the more I acquire, the more certain I am that I know nothing.” Voltaire

Today we have a chance for a clean slate with a New Moon in “thinker” Gemini… Well, almost! Not sure if it is ever possible to wipe out all that has gone before – even though with a plethora of new, technologically-improved, enhanced cleaning products on the market, it could be that many of our more “dubious, unsanitized ideas” are likely treading on very shaky ground, at the moment…:)

Regardless, a New Moon in “cerebral” Gemini today puts a spotlight on, among other things, our thoughts and ruminations; our curiosity; our ability to learn new things, as well as gather and present information; our aptitude to be conversational, witty, humorous; to be a jack-of-all-trades, a busybody, a social media maven, a talking head.

Since the Moon in Gemini also prefers to keep a rather frenetic pace, expect to be flitting along, the next few weeks, primarily in a vertical position. This monthly lunar period celebrates/fosters a deep curiosity about our environment – and all that is in it! We are also learning to be more flexible or versatile now; less wedded to our ideas/viewpoints. In fact, the truth is, we are likely to be all over the place, for the foreseeable future. Virtual nomads! Able to make do with just the clothes on our backs – and perhaps a designer purse, or two (can’t relinquish everything that we fought so hard for during the previous Lunar cycle in “thingy” Taurus).

Mercury in Gemini is also the ruler of today’s New Moon and it is forming a sextile to Vesta in “I am” Aries. This should allow us to mentally focus quickly on matters at hand, and to take direct action, if necessary. Especially as it pertains to putting forward our own initiatives/agendas – particularly the idea of birthing something new, and personal. (Vesta reveals where we can be very purposeful or dedicated.)

Some favored activities for a New Moon in Gemini: joining a book club; taking a speed-reading course; learning a new language; writing or blogging; enjoying get-togethers with siblings, neighbors, and friends; attending lectures or seminars; going sight-seeing; taking short trips.

“You may keep wandering in life all the time but one day life will take you to the place where you are meant to be!” Avijeet Das

Question for Today: What are you most curious about? Also, on the flip side, what are you least curious about?

Famous June 3 Birthdays: Anderson Cooper, Tony Curtis, Josephine Baker, Allen Ginsburg, Jefferson Davis, Michelle Keegan.

“The tide of history only advances when people make themselves fully visible.” Anderson Cooper

On This Day in History: On June 3, 1967, Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” reaches #1.

“It’s the rough side of the mountain that’s the easiest to climb; the smooth side doesn’t have anything for you to hang on to.” Aretha Franklin

Happy New Moon blessings!

Astrology August 19, 2014: Moon in Gemini, Sun Aligns With Pluto

“What is wanted is not the will to believe, but the will to find out, which is the exact opposite.” Bertrand Russell

COSMIC WATCH:

With the Moon remaining in inquisitive Gemini all day, cozying up to our curious side opens the door to new discoveries. Albert Einstein once remarked that curiosity is even more important than knowledge. Perhaps this is because curiosity is a forward moving energy. It is nature’s trusted way of keeping us fully engaged with our lives.

Also, the Sun is aligned (sesquiquadrate) with perceptive Pluto. This pairing may find us going deep within ourselves looking for answers. Too, Pluto, which also governs alchemy, often puts our attention on matters that are either in a state of entropy, or in need of some kind of turnaround. Since the Moon is also in its waning phase, this is an especially good time for any purging (Pluto) or refurbishing projects.

Question for Today: What one question would you most like to know the answer to?

Famous August 19 Birthdays: Bill Clinton, Tipper Gore, Gene Roddenberry, Matthew Perry

“A man either lives life as it happens to him, meets it head-on and licks it, or he turns his back on it and starts to wither away.” Gene Roddenberry

understanding.” Marshall McLuhan

COSMIC WATCH:

Even though the Moon is in cautious Capricorn, and the empowering Sun is aligned with serious Saturn, we are still receptive to new approaches today, as mental Mercury is exactly trine radical Uranus, a planetary aspect linked to invention and genius. This is a good day for cognitive shifts (epiphanies), and for trying out different perspectives. “Nature is full of genius, full of the divinity; so that not a snowflake escapes its fashioning hand.” Henry David Thoreau

Famous December 14 Birthdays: Nostradamus, Patty Duke. “I’ve come to believe that whoever I am didn’t start on December 14, 1946, and isn’t going to end on whatever that mysterious date is in the future.” Patty Duke

COSMIC WATCH:

“I am learning all the time.  The tombstone will be my diploma.” Eartha Kitt

It’s likely that we will also want to feed our heads and expand our perceptions and experiences today as intellectual Mercury conjuncts the brilliant Sun in inquiring, curious Gemini. Mercury is also sextile Uranus which helps to foster more original insights. Mercury-Uranus is a very inventive influence. It’s very good for brainstorming and tending to old problems in new ways. Our intuitive capacities may also be sharpened with this aspect. We may additionally hear things today that have the impact of helping to radically shift our perspective. This is an excellent day to learn new technology. Or to read about or discuss science and innovation.

The uninhibited Leo Moon’s sextile to sweet Venus (9:57 EDT) also adds a delightful and pleasurable quality to the morning. Very good for socializing, bonding, and artistic expression.

The Moon’s sextile to wise Saturn (2:07 pm EDT) is excellent for conferring with those persons who may serve as a mentor or teacher for us. “I was lucky that I met the right mentors and teachers at the moment.” James Levine

Famous Birthdays May 27: Henry Kissinger, Todd Bridges

COSMIC WATCH:

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” Dale Carnegie

With the “empowering” Sun trining “courageous” Mars (8:59 pm EDT), the planet of action and adventure, we are more inclined to test our personal limits today. Or raise the bar on our performance. Sun-Mars aspects are also historically linked with new beginnings and discoveries. For example, Ted Turner launched CNN on a day when the Sun in “communication” Gemini was exactly square to Mars in “skillful, perfecting” Virgo.

Too, Sun-Mars is an excellent catalyst for helping us get unstuck, as Mars rules our motivation or drive to succeed. When it is aligned with the Sun, which symbolizes our ego and deep sense of self, we usually have more of a well of self-confidence, enthusiasm, and willpower. Mars also governs our physical energy.

The Moon’s entrance into “curious” Gemini (1:05 pm EDT) additionally supplies us with a plethora of fresh ideas or perspectives today, which can always be very invigorating. Our ideas potentially hold so much power for us, don’t they? Sometimes, just one thought can change the trajectory of our lives forever when we choose to act on it.

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

COSMIC WEATHER:

“It has bothered me all my life that I do not paint like everybody else.” Henri Matisse

The Moon is in individualistic Aquarius all day, encouraging us to celebrate and revel in our own personal brand, while at the same time urging us to make a positive contribution to the collective. Too, due to the airy, detached nature of Aquarius, the Moon here also potentially supplies us with more objectivity for dealing with our feelings. The Aquarius Moon is also innovative, so it is a great day to be curious. To ask questions. To see if there is a novel way to improve upon the existing protocol.

The experimental Aquarian Moon energy also adds positive support to the cartel of five planets in enterprising Aries, a sign that is largely focused on the matter of its own self-discovery, and proving itself through bold action. The Moon’s harmonious trine to stabilizer Saturn in relationship Libra (1:46 pm EDT) also helps to get us solid backing and endorsement from others for whatever worthy causes we might want to spearhead today.
