It’s possible that we will be more inclined to feed our minds and expand our perceptions and experiences today as intellectual Mercury conjuncts the brilliant Sun in inquiring, curious Gemini.

Mercury is also sextile Uranus which ideally helps to foster more original insights. Mercury-Uranus is considered a more inventive-type influence. Perhaps good for brainstorming and tending to old problems in new ways. Our intuitive capacities may also be sharpened with this aspect.

We may additionally hear things today that have the impact of helping to radically shift our perspective.

This aspect is also thought to be an excellent time to learn new technology. Or to read about or discuss science and innovation.

The uninhibited Leo Moon’s sextile to sweet Venus (9:57 am) also adds a delightful and pleasurable quality to the morning. Very good for socializing, bonding, and artistic expression.

The Moon’s sextile to wise Saturn (2:07 pm) is also potentially excellent for conferring with those persons who may serve as a mentor or teacher for us.

The waning Moon remains in yielding, meditative Pisces potentially encouraging us to go with the flow instead of offering up any formidable resistance. Although we may need to intentionally guide ourselves in order to stay on track with things.

Early afternoon, the Moon’s trine to sweet Venus in caring Cancer (2:43 pm) ideally helps to strengthen our bonds with loved ones. Venus is also sesquiquadrate to wounded healer Chiron suggesting that this may be a good time to placate old wounds.

The Moon’s square to restless Mars, in communicator Gemini (4:45 pm), also gifts us with an opportunity to learn how to “hold our tongue,” lest we get sent to the back of the classroom.

Interesting astrological fact: Mick Jagger and Bill Clinton are both proud Leo Suns, with their Moons in earthy, sensual Taurus. See any similarity between the two of them in terms of their personality and behavior? Remember Bill’s saxophone performance on the Arsenio Hall Show several years ago? Any shades of Mick there? 🙂

Well, the “night owl” Moon is back in Venus-ruled Taurus today, so this is a time when we may want to indulge our senses and pamper ourselves. The Taurus Moon is fond of “hedonistic” pleasures. At the same time, it is also practical and resourceful. (Taurus rules money and possessions.)

The Moon also trines “problem-solving” Pluto (10:48 am EDT), so it appears that there is very little that we cannot do today, if we but only put our minds to it and also stay cooperative (sometimes with Pluto, we try to “run the show”). Too, we still have Mick’s “start-me-up” Aries energy beaming down upon us (Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus in Aries).

Later on, the “sweet” Taurus Moon forms a sexy sextile to relationship Venus (7:03 pm EDT). Definitely a time when we will want to be making a “love connection.” Power of attraction Venus helps us attract the “reality we desire.”

Famous Birthdays April 5: Colin Powell (74), late Betty Davis (103). BTW, Betty had her pioneering Aries Sun exactly square to her natal Uranus in professional Capricorn, helping to make her a “one of a kind” original.

In the News: With the Moon in “money-minded” Taurus trining “purging” Pluto, U.S. House Republicans today proposed a budget for the next fiscal year that would reportedly spend $3.53 trillion, $179 billion dollars less then the plan put forth by President Obama. It would also supposedly balance the budget by 2015. (WSJ.com) “Bulldozing” Pluto in action? Too, Pluto tends towards “extremism.”

The bewitching Moon spends her day in optimistic Sagittarius, where she is more inclined to conclude that, “Yes, indeed, the glass is half full!” The early morning hours are best for mental work with the Moon’s trine to logical thinker Mercury ( 8:24 am EDT). The Moon’s tense square to impulsive Mars (11:09 am EDT) also cautions us to “think” before we act.

Later on, our romantic prospects brighten with the Moon’s warm sextile to connection queen Venus (7:03 pm EDT). Our blissful mood continues with the Moon’s magical sextile to dreamy, meditative guru Neptune (9:26 pm EDT), a time to seek out more mystical or creative outlets. Neptune represents our “link to the divine.”

Shortly afterward, the Moon then switches to realistic Capricorn (9:58 pm EDT), forming a potent square to rebellious child Uranus, who could put a disruptive kink into our levitation practices, if we’re not careful. A time when we could also temporarily conclude that the glass is “half empty.” Of course, this need not be the case if we keep our eyes focused on the “bigger picture” and our grander intentions for ourselves.
