Cosmic Weather:

“Faith does not need to push the river because faith is able to trust that there is a river. The river is flowing. We are in it.” Richard Rohr

The waning Moon exits detached Aquarius and shifts into transcendent Pisces (10:48 am), potentially creating more of a desire now for inner peace, disengagement, and, perhaps, relying more on our faith, over the next couple days.

However, about midday, today, the Moon also forms a square to assertive Mars, newly-deposited in quickening Gemini (12:44 pm). At this time, we may temporarily feel compelled to want to push or force matters along. It could maybe be due to a perceived need for defensive posturing. Or, perhaps, we’re simply exhibiting an overreaction to something cropping up in the moment that leaves us feeling a little unsettled. It’s possible, too, that an expectation that we had for something is also not being met. Or, it may be none of the above! 🙂

Anyway, in order to get back into the composure groove, we might find it best to just take a momentary pause, if possible. Try to get away from whatever is possibly pulling our trigger. Fortunately, too, a lunar sextile to ‘change strategist’ Uranus, in grounded Taurus (1:29 pm), can help us to suddenly gain a fresh, new perspective on matters so we no longer feel that we have to be in control mode. We’re also creatively practical with this aspect.

*All times EDT

On This Day in History: On April 1, 1976, Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs found Apple Computer in the garage of Jobs’ parent’s house in Cupertino, California.

Among the planetary aspects in the sky that day, pioneering Mars, in tenacious Cancer, was exactly forming a waning trine to Uranus, the ruler of technology, in the transforming sign of Scorpio. Mars-Uranus energy is perfect for putting into motion items or projects that are cutting-edge, original, or unique.

On a lighter note, thought it was kind of cool, too, that Mars was in home and family ruling Cancer, that day, and Apple was started in Jobs’ parent’s garage! Gotta’ love the synchronicity!

Astrology November 26, 2011: The Eclipse Works Magic For NBA

basketball, moon quinqunx jupiter, Moon square mars, Moon trine Uranus, National Basketball Association, NBA reaches tentative agreement, Partial Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius November 25 2011

The National Basketball Association and its players have reportedly reached a tentative deal to end the 148-day lockout, according to the NYT.com, which is also reporting that the deal was agreed to on Black Friday, the same day as the partial solar eclipse at 2 degrees 37 minutes of Sagittarius. (Other news outlets are reporting the deal was reached early Saturday morning.) The NBA reportedly plans to start the season on Christmas Day and play a 66-game schedule. (Wonder if this agreement may be modified, though, later, in wake of Mercury being retrograde? Too, the deal still has to be approved by both the owners and players. Mercury rules agreements and negotiations.)

As I mentioned earlier in my Eclipse blog, this lunation in Sagittarius formed a positive, flowing trine to change-agent Uranus, in “new beginnings” Aries, suggesting more of a desire, both individually and collectively, to want to break with the past and move forward. Potentially, also boding well for ending difficult stalemates or impasses. Uranus also has a legacy with bringing about sudden breakthroughs in our stream of consciousness. Aries is also the sign that rules sports, while Sagittarius rules legal matters. The tentative NBA deal was reportedly agreed to at a Midtown Manhattan law office.

Too, New Moons, by their very nature, tend to coincide with fresh starts, while eclipses often bring about sudden endings.

Interestingly, this eclipse was also squared by energizing Mars in Virgo, the sign of labor, which perhaps helped to provide extra impetus to take sudden action to end this NBA labor dispute. Mars tends to give matters momentum. The eclipse also formed a quinqunx aspect to expansive Jupiter in financial Taurus, denoting the huge financial aspect at stake here for the NBA owners and players. The NBA reportedly generates $4 billion annually in revenues. No paltry sum by any stretch of the imagination.

Do you plan on watching any of the NBA games, when they start back up?  BTW, how did you fare with yesterday’s eclipse? Score any “slam dunks” with it? If not, don’t despair. There’s still some time. The eclipse point or degree stays activated for up to six months in our personal charts, although we usually feel some kind of “pop” from it, a few days on either side of the event.

Astrology November 11, 2011: Moon Squares Fuzzy Neptune

astrology for november 11 2011, breathing, health, horoscope november 11 2011, Mars in Virgo, money, Moon in Gemini, Moon in Taurus, Moon square mars, Moon square Neptune, sticking with the facts

COSMIC WATCH:

In wake of the potent Full Moon yesterday, there still may be more of an emotional tenor to this day. This morning, the Moon in plodding, materially-minded Taurus, also squares off with fuzzy, elusive Neptune (11:28 am EST), so we may want to tread lightly, especially in financial matters. It is always a good idea, too, whenever we are dealing with Neptune’s nebulous ray, to simply stick with the facts, and to mute or dispel any pipe dreams and or irrational fears.

The Moon’s shift into breezy, disseminating Gemini (3:11 pm EST) provides us with more flexibility, as well as burgeoning intellectual curiosity over the next couple of days. The Moon’s square to restless Mars (3:53 pm EST), newly deposited in correcting, health-ruling Virgo, also suggests we may need to be more mindful and considerate of our physical energies and to not overtax our systems. Taking slow, deep, conscious breaths, and pausing for reflection, if only for a few moments, will likely hold some regenerative perks for us now, as well as offering us more options or alternatives for our behavior. Often with Moon-Mars, we react instinctively to things, without thinking, and thereby limit our range of choices. The pausing or disengaging, though, helps to widen our perspective because it, for one thing, affords us the chance to mull over or review issues. Also, the act of pausing opens the door for us to reconnect with our sacred intuition, a vehicle of expression from our higher self.

“To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.” Buddha

Enjoy your Friday! Would also like to salute and recognize all the veterans today.

COSMIC WATCH:

Cultivating patience helps to preserve our equilibrium this morning, in face of the restless, Aries Moon’s square to impulsive Mars, its planetary ruler, in protective Cancer (11:07 am EDT). This more challenging aspect can also trigger defensive posturing, particularly if we are feeling threatened by uncertain elements in our environment.

Cosmic forces should become easier to subdue once the Aries Moon sextiles serene Neptune in humanistic Aquarius (1:10 pm EDT), an invitation to demonstrate our caring and compassion. The Moon’s entrance into grounded Taurus (3:25 pm EDT) also helps to steady our emotions and tips the scale in favor of pleasurable pursuits as a rejuvenating uplift.

“Pleasure is the Divine seasoning in the diet of life.” Lewis F. Korns

Famous Persons with Moon square Mars: Tina Turner, Marlon Brando, Charles Bronson, Nicolas Cage, Tom Brokaw

NEWS UPDATE: With the Moon at the very end of “Warrior” Aries and sextile idealistic Neptune, President Obama today awarded the Medal of Honor, our country’s highest military honor, to Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer for his heroic actions in Afghanistan back in September of 2009. Aries is the zodiacal sign governing soldiers and the military. Moon-Neptune also tends to denote “selfless” behavior for the good of others. Very fitting energy for bestowing such a rare and noble honor upon a very brave soldier.

Astrology August 31, 2011: Moon in Libra Conjunct Saturn

COSMIC WATCH:

“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Extra Brownie points are earned today for being patient and poised in the face of possible delays or restrictions suggested by the Moon’s monthly conjunction with tester Saturn in relationship Libra (2:44 pm EDT) which also tends to put us in a more serious mode. This is very good energy for probing more deeply into matters and having pivotal discussions, especially about security-related or legal issues, but we will want to remain flexible and cooperative. We may also need to remember, however, that it is not always possible to please everyone and that we need to be okay with that.

Too, we have intellectual Mercury forming a 135-degree link to incisive, investigative Pluto which can heighten our perceptions, although we are challenged to guard against being overly suspicious or brooding, part of Pluto’s shadow side. With Pluto’s activated ray we tend to experience submerged contents from our mysterious subconscious floating to the surface of our conscious awareness. Also, we may want to refrain from showing our cards until we have had time to sort through all the subterranean matter.

Later, practicing anger-management is the recommended antidote for a feisty Moon square Mars aspect (8:28 pm EDT). The Moon’s harmonious sextile to mental Mercury at the close of the day (11:25 pm EDT) also helps to set the stage for some cool “aha moments” while simultaneously fostering a more peaceful vibe on the home front. A perfect time to make some entries into our personal journals or for unwinding with a book by a favorite author.

News Update: WSJ.com reported this morning that the U.S. Justice Dept. has filed a lawsuit to block  AT&T’s proposed $39 billion proposed takeover of T-Mobile USA. Perhaps evidence of the Libra Moon’s applying conjunction with “denying” Saturn today? Libra does rule the court system. Too, Mercury also governs the communications industry and we have that 135-linkup with “suspicious-minded” Pluto.

Also, with the more serious Moon-Saturn influence exact, early this afternoon, President Obama (a Saturnian authority figure) reportedly requested a joint session of Congress for next Wednesday night to roll out his proposals to jumpstart employment and the economy. Although, there also appears to be some conflict with having the joint session on that particular date as the Republican presidential hopefuls also have a televised debate already scheduled for the same time period. Sounds like President Obama and his staff may have hit upon a “Moon-Saturn snag” in scheduling the matter and that a “cooperative spirit” may be needed to iron things out to everyone’s satisfaction. 🙂 (story from NYT.com)

Enjoy your Wednesday!

COSMIC WATCH:

The “action-packed” Aries Moon primes us for risk-taking and adventure. But before charging out of the gate, we need to be clear about what it is that we are chasing and why, so we don’t scatter our energies. Especially since the impetuous Aries Moon is square to Mars, its ruler (3:12 pm EDT), a more restless influence that can have us dissipating our efforts, if we’re not careful.

“The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear.” Brian Tracy

Famous Birthdays August 17th:  Actress Mae West, famous for her original, witty, and often sexy quips, was born on this day in 1892. West, an entertaining Leo Sun, had her pioneering Mars, the planet of sex and passion, conjunct her 10th house of career, at the very top of her chart. Her Mars was also in quirky, futuristic Aquarius. Perhaps one reason why she was not afraid to “break the rules” or defy traditional protocol at the time, especially with respect to openly discussing matters of a sexual nature. West did much to pave the way for more open expression here. Her feelings-oriented Cancer Moon was also exactly trine to uninhibited Uranus in Scorpio, the zodiacal sign of sex that is co-ruled by Mars. Uranus, of course, is the ruler of “liberating” Aquarius.

“Is that a gun in your pocket or are you glad to see me?” Mae West. 🙂

On a personal note: Just wanted to say that my schedule is very hectic now (transiting Uranus conjunct my Aries Ascendant). While I still hope to keep up this blog with some frequency, I will not be able to be with you on a regular, daily basis like I have been in the past, at least for the foreseeable future. I apologize.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

COSMIC WEATHER:

“Having a positive mental attitude is asking how something can be done rather than saying it can’t be done.” Bo Bennett

The bewitching Moon spends her day in optimistic Sagittarius, where she is more inclined to conclude that, “Yes, indeed, the glass is half full!” The early morning hours are best for mental work with the Moon’s trine to logical thinker Mercury ( 8:24 am EDT). The Moon’s tense square to impulsive Mars (11:09 am EDT) also cautions us to “think” before we act.

Later on, our romantic prospects brighten with the Moon’s warm sextile to connection queen Venus (7:03 pm EDT). Our blissful mood continues with the Moon’s magical sextile to dreamy, meditative guru Neptune (9:26 pm EDT), a time to seek out more mystical or creative outlets. Neptune represents our “link to the divine.”

Shortly afterward, the Moon then switches to realistic Capricorn (9:58 pm EDT), forming a potent square to rebellious child Uranus, who could put a disruptive kink into our levitation practices, if we’re not careful. A time when we could also temporarily conclude that the glass is “half empty.” Of course, this need not be the case if we keep our eyes focused on the “bigger picture” and our grander intentions for ourselves.
