Cosmic Weather:

“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” Confucius

Today could seem just ‘a bit too much’ for us. Especially if we, perhaps, take more of a big picture view of things and focus mainly on our highest aspirations (Mars in Sagittarius), which may be a tad too large for us to realistically manifest, at this moment in time, without invoking a whole host of other complicating factors to have to deal with. And, we certainly don’t want to force things now (Mars semisquare Pluto) as that strategy is also more likely to backfire.

Thankfully, though, Luna is still in ‘bite-size’ Virgo, which should really help us to bring everything down to a fairly manageable scale. By concentrating on such things as quality control and maybe eliminating excesses or redundancies, it’s entirely possible that we could end the day with more than a few feathers in our cap (Moon trining the notorious ‘Saturn-Pluto conjunction’).

The purifying Virgo Moon is also always a positive time to pay attention to health and dietary matters, with an eye to correcting or re-balancing what’s amiss in the body or awry with our daily practices or habits.

*All times EST.

Tarot Card For The Day: The Two of Pentacles, which suggests a “juggling-act” feel to the day.

Numerology: With it being the “14th” day of the month (which reduces down to a 5), suggesting there’s also potentially more of a natural restlessness to the energy now. At the same time, this is probably a good day to learn how to ‘bend with the wind.’ Too, when we consider that we are in the middle of January already, a “one” month, it’s entirely understandable that we may now be feeling a little bit antsy about things, wondering if we’re really ever going to be able to “pull everything off,” in the future.

Born On This Day: Andy Rooney, in 1919 (d. in 2011), an American radio and TV writer best known for his weekly broadcast “A Few Minutes With Andy Rooney” on the television program 60 Minutes. Rooney once said: The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.

Hope it’s a good one!

Cosmic Weather:

“When your imagination’s at work, your dreams make sense.” Anthony T. Hincks

Have you ever struggled to put something together, manually? Let’s say maybe a paperclip. And, you all have these supposed “easy-to-assemble” instructions, right before you, but you still can’t figure out how to assemble the darn thing? Well, in a left-handed way, I guess that’s sort of how I feel about today’s Full Moon in instructional and corrective Virgo. As I was meditating on the meaning of this lunation this morning, in preparation for this blog, all of a sudden, I got inundated with an avalanche of assorted details. Including receiving a hallucinatory vision (Mercury conjunct Neptune in Pisces) of a 32-page colored report, with perfect margins, of everything that is wrong in my present-day life! It’s like, how in the heck do I even begin to right the ship? 🙂

Virgo the Virgin, as you probably know, is number six in the zodiac lineup. Or, is midway through it, in other words. Kind of tucked away in obscurity. (Where it frickin’ belongs!) Of course, usually when you get to the middle of anything is often when the plot thickens or twists, including when some things may begin to break down. Even in the body, Virgo governs the intestines, which are located in the middle region of the body, and also where food particles are broken down for digestion. Too, if your diet is not that good and you’re eating a lot of the wrong things, such as maybe stuffing your face with pimento cheese sandwiches and washing it all down with a gallon of Irish whiskey for breakfast, your stomach and intestines will probably let you know, pretty fast, that you’re screwing up. And you’ll, no doubt, be receiving several lashes for penance while having to listen to Virgoan recorded messages prompting you to eat your dang vegetables instead. Including yucky broccoli!

Moving right along.

Trying to keep everything very simple and orderly for you here, today. Because we do have, again, intellectual Mercury, the Virgo Full Moon’s official ruler, exactly conjunct psychedelic, mushroom-eating Neptune now. Folks, there’s no wait out of this one, unfortunately. I’m sorry.

Waiting any moment to be taken away by space aliens in little white coats…

Yes, with an illuminating Full Moon in troubleshooting Virgo, at this moment in time, we’re essentially checking under the hood. Seeing how everything is working. Or not working. Maybe we need a smidgeon of antifreeze under our arms. Or on our hips. Or our lips, perhaps, need to be pumped up or inflated with a pound or two of more air to better resemble Kim Kardashian’s. Just typical body maintenance stuff.

But, wait! There’s more! That was just for starters! 🙂

Then there’s the whole other matter of the cleanaholic Virgo Full Moon likely wanting to invade our home space today! Holding us hostage, no doubt, with an industrial-sized vacuum cord, tied around our neck, and a Swiffer Sweeper thrusted under our arm so we can gather up all the dirt, and other crap, that’s been accumulating, exponentially, since who knows when. The fact is, too, we haven’t really been able to see any of this gook, all that well, until this god-awful Virgo Full Moon shows up! Plus, it’s a darn SuperMoon to boot! Making its impact that much worse!  Now, the darn dustballs are glaring at us! The cobwebs are staging a Uranian-type revolt! And, the dirty laundry in the clothes hamper is starting to come to life, twisting and shouting, and foaming at the mouth. Kinda like Linda Blair in the Exorcist!

Well, maybe it’s not quite that bad.

But, then there’s the matter of…

And then…

Oh, no!

Please, please! Can’t somebody pull down the frickin’ shade!

I can’t take it anymore!

I swear, I’ll eat my vegetables! 🙂

Enjoy your day! Full Moon Blessings to you!

Astrology March 5, 2015: A Full Moon in “Purifying” Virgo

“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.” Ernest Hemingway

COSMIC WATCH:

Full Moon

A Full Moon in “purifying” Virgo, today (1:05 pm), the sign of health and work, paves the way for self-improvement projects, makeovers, general healing, dietary changes, detox efforts, de-cluttering, recycling, becoming better organized, tidying things up. Also, some things that perhaps managed to elude our awareness before, are now getting ready to come into full view of our consciousness. Too, the impact of what is about to be revealed, could be something that’s very powerful for us, in a galvanizing way, especially since we have so many other potent, illuminating aspects occurring at this same time – aspects that sort of all piggy back on each other, including the “opportunity-laden” Jupiter Uranus trine, and the seventh and last installment of the “game-changing” Uranus and Pluto square, which I’ll be discussing more about, in an upcoming blog.

The “keeping it real” Virgo Full Moon is also excellent for providing us with an accurate, no-nonsense assessment of what’s really going on around us – a nice complement to the more “idealistic, otherworldly” Sun in Pisces influence, which can sometimes find us getting too caught up, or lost, in our pipe dreams or fantasies. The Virgo Moon also symbolizing “the voice of reason”, while the Pisces Sun represents, “the voice of our intuition,” which some also view as the “voice of Spirit” operating within us. With this lunation, we’re seeking to balance and integrate both of these voices, in our lives.

This Full Moon’s trine to “transforming” Pluto also directs us to confidently step into our own power, while simultaneously serving to ignite our heart’s passions. Too, with our passions on the rise, there’s also possibly more of a feeling now that we’re truly on the way to fulfilling our life’s purpose, or special destiny, especially since passion is something that is often equated with leading us to our soul’s, or higher self’s, true calling. Included in all of this here, too, is the possibility of a very deep, if not sacred sense now, of our own renewal, especially on an emotional level; coupled with this may also be a very strong desire to focus firmly on the tasks ahead. There may also be an increased willingness to release, with greater ease and serenity now, those things that are no longer serving us on our journey. Sometimes, too, just letting go of an attitude can be the thing that begins to turn our life around, in a major way. Writer Caroline Myss also suggests that we eliminate five words from our vocabulary, when we’re ready to move on: blame, deserve, guilt, fair, and fault. She says that this is because these five words “often make it easier for us to fall into negative emotional patterns.”

“I realize there’s something incredibly honest about trees in winter, how they’re experts at letting things go.” Jeffrey McDaniel

This Full Moon may also put more of a spotlight on the following areas: joint financial matters, investments, taxes, insurance, wills and estates, research or investigation. This energy also favors archeological digs, therapy, deep tissue massage, adopting a new fitness regime, implementing more quality control measures at work, making repairs, improving or perfecting a craft, revising job search strategies, updating resumes, meeting with employment counselors.

Astrology November 11, 2011: Moon Squares Fuzzy Neptune

astrology for november 11 2011, breathing, health, horoscope november 11 2011, Mars in Virgo, money, Moon in Gemini, Moon in Taurus, Moon square mars, Moon square Neptune, sticking with the facts

COSMIC WATCH:

In wake of the potent Full Moon yesterday, there still may be more of an emotional tenor to this day. This morning, the Moon in plodding, materially-minded Taurus, also squares off with fuzzy, elusive Neptune (11:28 am EST), so we may want to tread lightly, especially in financial matters. It is always a good idea, too, whenever we are dealing with Neptune’s nebulous ray, to simply stick with the facts, and to mute or dispel any pipe dreams and or irrational fears.

The Moon’s shift into breezy, disseminating Gemini (3:11 pm EST) provides us with more flexibility, as well as burgeoning intellectual curiosity over the next couple of days. The Moon’s square to restless Mars (3:53 pm EST), newly deposited in correcting, health-ruling Virgo, also suggests we may need to be more mindful and considerate of our physical energies and to not overtax our systems. Taking slow, deep, conscious breaths, and pausing for reflection, if only for a few moments, will likely hold some regenerative perks for us now, as well as offering us more options or alternatives for our behavior. Often with Moon-Mars, we react instinctively to things, without thinking, and thereby limit our range of choices. The pausing or disengaging, though, helps to widen our perspective because it, for one thing, affords us the chance to mull over or review issues. Also, the act of pausing opens the door for us to reconnect with our sacred intuition, a vehicle of expression from our higher self.

“To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.” Buddha

Enjoy your Friday! Would also like to salute and recognize all the veterans today.

COSMIC WATCH:

A Full Moon in slow-moving, earthy Taurus today, at 18 degrees (3:17 pm EST), puts a focus on finding contentment and enjoyment in the simpler pleasures of life. It also places a spotlight on our values, and may be able to provide us with added insight, clarity and feedback on how we are managing our resources. Too, what we attract to us is often a reflection of what we value. Maybe If we are unhappy or unfulfilled with the elements surrounding us at this Full Moon, it could be that we need to go inside ourselves and take a closer look at where we have been putting our focus lately. Perhaps we have been putting our attention in the wrong areas, investing our time and energy in the wrong things, and we need to make some adjustments now.  Full Moons can trigger crisis situations and turning points in consciousness. Too, it could be that pivotal events happening in the collective now may also have the net affect of helping to alter or reshape our values or belief systems.

Energy planet Mars, governing self-assertion, is also shifting from flashy, entertaining Leo into organizing, analytical Virgo today (11:15 pm EST), the sign of work and health, where it will stay until next July. With Mars in Virgo, there is an emphasis on honing or perfecting our skills or craft. It is also an excellent period for instituting positive health changes. For instance, we may be more driven and fired up to adhere to diets now. Or an exercise program. In the body, Virgo rules the intestines and the process of digestion. The intestines break down food particles so that they may be better assimilated. Symbolically, Mars in Virgo also energizes us to carefully digest our life experiences so that we may take away from them practical, useful substance or content. Virgo is a highly resourceful sign that helps to make us very self-sufficient. It is also a sign that takes pleasure in being of service or utility to others.

COSMIC WATCH:

“We are not human beings in search of a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” Teilhard de Chardin

There’s an abundance of mystical energy circulating around us today with expansive Jupiter’s opportunity sextile to spiritual Neptune, the planet that symbolizes our link to the divine. It’s a perfect day for meditation and prayer. Jupiter-Neptune can also inspire us to perform selfless acts of kindness and charity. Jupiter’s placement in practical Taurus also bodes well for turning our sweet dreams (Neptune governs our imagination) into delightful reality (Taurus). This magical Jupiter-Neptune influence will be lingering around for the next few days.

The presence of the Moon in health-conscious Virgo and Neptune’s placement in oceanic Pisces is also favorable now for all forms of water therapy as a way to rejuvenate our bodies and gently soothe our souls. Too, Neptune rules photography and visual images, so we may want to get out our cameras and create some new Kodak moments. Or perhaps thumb through old photo albums as a sentimental journey into our sacred Neptunian past.

COSMIC WEATHER:

“Health-conscious” Virgo Sun opposes “Over-indulgent” Jupiter and also “You Can’t Force Me To Eat My Vegetables!” Uranus in “Please Don’t Hold Me Accountable” Pisces. Dietary discipline may very much be needed today. Especially with the “Liquor-Friendly” Pisces Moon wanting to substitute tequilas instead of fresh fruit for dessert. Too, with today’s more “unsettled energy” pattern around us now, we may all be wanting a few stiff drinks by the end of the day. (Try breathing slowly and meditatively chanting instead.  Remember, the Moon is still in “mystically-minded” Pisces.)

NEWS UPDATE:

With the Virgo Sun opposing the Jupiter and Uranus conjunction (forcing Equality Issues) in Underdog Pisces today, the U.S. Senate is slated to cast a pivotal vote on the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. Uranus is usually emphasized when “gay rights” issues come to the forefront, as Uranus embodies “freedom of expression” within the framework of “groups and the collective.”

“Fitness – if it came in a bottle, everybody would have a great body.” Cher

Moon’s in “Forget the Mind, Let’s Get Physical” Aries. The Sun and Mercury are in “Health-Conscious” Virgo and preaching to Venus and Mars, still conjoined in “Mating” Libra, about the hazards of engaging in sex before first taking capsules of cod liver oil.

In case you’re also wondering: Venus did get out of bed to go shopping yesterday, but with the arrival of the weekend, and the “I want sex, and I want it now!” Aries Moon, still hovering around, she has decided to position herself back under the bed sheets with Mars, with yet another promise from him, of more opportunities to purchase expensive jewels on his credit card again, in the near future.

“We’ve had a stressful week, and now that the weekend is here, we want to unwind. But the Aries Moon is also casting a decidedly “physical” tone to the day. It’s clamoring to us to engage our muscles and other body parts in an intimate workout. Preferably, too, with another human being, because “Love Diva” Venus and “Sex Pistol” Mars are still in Libra, the sign of “The Other.”

Mercury and the Sun in “Clinical” Virgo are also requesting that we do our best to engage in only “responsible, healthy sex” this weekend, so as not to overtax our systems. In other words, in between the passionate night moves, we’ll need to monitor and document our vital signs, such as our temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure. And, if need be, spray for germs.

Now we know why so many Virgos are still virgins!

If we have to go through all this stuff, each time, is it really worth it? Even with George Clooney?

‘George, we have to stop now. I need to check your pulse. Hold on a minute, let me listen to your heart beat. Stick out your tongue, George, and let me look at it. And beat on it with my wooden stick.’

You know what? This approach may be just what the doctor ordered!

‘George, stick out your tongue again.

Yes, it looks like we may need to operate.”

Origin: bef. 900 ME, OE: belly, womb; c. D wam, G wamme; Goth wamba belly; cf wamus

COSMIC WEATHER:

A very big day on tap!

Powerful cosmic influences at play.

First off, we have Mental Mercury in Creative, Entertaining Leo exactly trining Expansive, Optimistic Jupiter in “Self-Discovery” Aries. This is a very favorable communication influence and a HUGE aspect for summoning forth and unleashing our personal talents and gifts. New doors could suddenly open up for us as a result of showcasing our unique abilities.

With Mercury-Jupiter, we are also better able to see the “big picture” (Jupiter), as well as agreeably solve situations that may have previously been at an impasse.

Also, our self-confidence soars as does our ability to speak convincingly with authority (Leo).

Historically on a collective level, Mercury-Jupiter has often correlated with major advancements in communication and transportation. It’s also great for diplomatic efforts.

For example, CNN was launched with Mercury-Jupiter.  The Charles DeGaulle Airport opened under this influence. Jupiter also rules the law and courts and with “Decision-Maker” Mercury conjunct “Protective” Jupiter the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Miranda Rights. Also, the Iranian hostages were released in 1981 the day Mercury was trine Jupiter.

Secondly, and also dramatically enhancing the power of the Mercury-Jupiter energy today, we have Pioneering, Energetic Mars in the Health and Employment Sign of Virgo harmoniously and exactly sextiling the Sun (Solar Eclipse). Sun-Mars days are always B-I-G for discoveries and blazing new trails. Generally a key time when we can really “leap forward,” both individually and collectively.

Mars, in the sign of Virgo, especially favors health research and medical breakthroughs, as well as any type of endeavor that involves intricate investigation and thorough attention to detail.

This Sun-Mars aspect has been building for a few days and we did just hear about positive movement towards an HIV vaccination this week. (The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in discovery Aries square to Pluto, which rules research and sexually transmitted diseases, may have also figured in prominently here.)

The Sun-Mars will be in effect for a few more days. It is a potentially positive influence, too, for the delicate placement of the new cap on the BP oil pipe.

Too, if you’re looking for a job, as so many of us are, now is a propitious time to do so, as Virgo does rule work and Sun-Mars rules fresh starts. Also, it’s favorable time for implementing a new positive health regimen (Virgo).

Thirdly. We have the Major New Moon Solar Eclipse at 19 degrees of maternal, familial Cancer (at 3:41 pm EDT.) New Moons are always times for new beginnings and the Eclipse only magnifies the impact and magnitude of them.

With this Eclipse taking place in the home and family sign of Cancer, I believe we are feeling a strong need and desire to return to our past, our roots. Specifically we’re seeking to return to the womb.

Of course, logistically I know this desire could pose real physical challenges, as most of us are now full-grown adults with weight issues.

Too, after a close examination of the planets, I have compiled an urgent, “top ten list” for the “powers that be,” of why we should be allowed to gain re-entry into the womb, ASAP:

10) Free room and board, even though the “view” is rather limited

9) We can swim around all day

8)  No need for sunscreen

7 ) Don’t have to worry about “wardrobe malfunctions”

6) No need for expensive plastic surgery

5) Don’t have to pay taxes

4) We can suck our thumbs

3) No housework

2) We can perfect our kickboxing technique

And the number one reason we must gain re-entry into the womb immediately:

1) We figure it’s a pretty safe haven from Sarah Palin

“What’s the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom? Lipstick.” Sarah Palin

Madame Patrice’s “Cosmic Word of The Day”: Hypochondria

Hypochondria

1) n. an abnormal condition characterized by a depressed emotional state and imaginary ill health

Madame Patrice reveals her endless wisdom in selecting hypochondria as the “Cosmic Word of the Day”:

“June 18th is an exceptionally rich and historic time for all layers of hypochondria to manifest as the Moon gets ready to bed “Chronic Complainer” Saturn in the health sign of “Why am I still a Virgin?” Virgo.

The conversant Gemini Sun is also throwing a tight square to both the Moon and Saturn, further amplifying the need to articulate all manner of pain and discomfort in detailed fashion.

Additionally, a watery Sun-Neptune trine will likely cause bouts of imaginary seasickness, as well as create a run on Neptunian fluids such as beer and vodka. Which means, come Saturday morning, much of the collective may be experiencing all too real hangovers.”

More contagious”hypochondria” quotes:

“Imaginary pains are by far the most real we suffer, since we feel a constant need for them and invent them because there is no way of doing without them.” E.M. Cioran

“I’m a hypochondriac.  Yesterday it was brain damage from the vodka the night before.  Today, heart attack – my arm and chest started hurting at the same time.” Lisa Marie Presley

“The trouble with being a hypochondriac these days is that antibiotics have cured all the good diseases.”  Caskie Stinnett

June 18th Gemini birthdays: Kurt Browning, William Randolph Hearst III, Paul McCartney

Enjoy your Friday!

I feel your pain.
