Cosmic Weather:
“It’s amazing how a little tomorrow can make up for a whole lot of yesterday.” John Guare
Lots going on in the heavens today! The Mars-Jupiter trine aspect, exact early this morning (1:14 am), can allow our actions to take shape more quickly (and possibly morph into something big). It can also find us more future-oriented, more amped up about moving toward our goals. Mars is also in cerebral Gemini which can help us to intellectually detach and ponder our plans from various perspectives.
Too, Mercury in Aries is sextiling both Jupiter in Aquarius (12:00 pm) and Mars (3:09 pm), potentially adding even more breadth and scope – plus punchiness – to our communications. Our words are direct yet we also seem to be able to couch them in a way that doesn’t alienate.
Later, thinker Mercury will form a square to “Darth Vader” Pluto (5:49 pm). On the plus side, this can serve to make us very probing or investigative which can help to deepen or strengthen our perceptions; this aspect can also aid in our becoming more aware of our hidden impulses. On the shadow side, it can (obsessively) put our focus on what is broken or not working, which potentially could be a bit of a mental drain if we linger there too long. Shifting to finding solutions, though, is usually a good way to help get us centered and back on track (especially now with Mars in clever Gemini). Sometimes, too, one cool way to problem-solve is to imagine how someone you admire or look up to might go about rectifying things.
“What you condemn you continue. Focus on where you want to go rather than what you want to get away from.” Alan Cohen
Meanwhile, Waxing Luna shifts from busybody Gemini to homebody Cancer (3:25 pm). She’s also still in her Crescent Phase (with 24% illumination from the Sun). With the Moon in Cancer, there’s more of an impulse to nurture or protect.

Going on today: The British Royal Family is gathering for the funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away on April 9 at age 99 (b. June 10, 1921). Towards the end of the Second World War Prince Philip served in the destroyer HMS WHELP in the Pacific, and was present in Tokyo Bay for the Japanese surrender on September 2, 1945. Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth were married for 73 years.
“When we were married I don’t think there was such a thing as a platinum anniversary, they didn’t know we would be around that long.” Queen Elizabeth
Astrologically, Jupiter is the planet associated with official royalty (real kings and queens!) – and we have the Mars-Jupiter trine exact today helping to bring royal activities to the forefront.
“It’s better to get out before you reach the sell-by date.” Prince Philip 🙂
May you rest in peace.
Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.
