COSMIC WATCH:

“Life is the hyphen between matter and spirit.” Augustus William Hare and Julius Charles Hare, from “Guesses at Truth, by Two Brothers” (1827)

There’s a Full Moon/Total Lunar Eclipse in “visionary” Sagittarius today (4:14 pm EDT), the sign of the hopeful archer. Sagittarius governs our beliefs and personal philosophy of life and also rules long-distance travel, the law, clergy, and higher education. This eclipse is occurring at 24 degrees of Sagittarius, smack near the Galactic Center. A Full Moon Eclipse is a time of potent release when we empty out our stale contents. It is also a time for wondrous reflection and illumination.

Eclipses often speed up events and can usher in fateful changes that permanently alter the landscape around us. Their influence is said to last up to six months. Whatever house this eclipse is falling in today, in our charts, is where we are presently engaged in a search for more meaning and where we may be needing to tweak, dismantle, or defend some of our beliefs.

“With bow and arrow carefully in tow, we aim to hunt for the higher meaning that we know is purposefully nestled within.

Our gaze is ardently fixed upon the starry firmament above, meticulously scanning for any directional clues that we pray will point the way to our very own, internal cluster of brightly lit constellations, that we sense are all merrily a twinkle now, as they expectantly and eagerly await our joyous arrival on this magical eclipse day.

Yes, we’re going home again. The mother-father, Galactic Center has kindly put down the welcome mat and thoughtfully turned on its brightest lights for us to clearly see our way back to the truth. The whole truth. Nothing but the truth. So help us God. We may even stop and rest a spell in Luckenbach, Texas, with Willie Nelson, to put 74 candles on the late Waylon Jennings’ birthday cake.” 🙂

Happy Eclipse Day!

Astrology April 26, 2011: “Early Bird Catches Worm” Moon Sextile Jupiter

COSMIC WEATHER:

“A pessimist is a man who thinks all women are bad. An optimist is one who hopes they are.” Chauncey Depew 🙂

It could be the “early bird catches the worm” today with the Aquarius Moon’s early morning sextile to fortuitous Jupiter in “trailblazing” Aries (7:29 am EDT). The futuristic Moon in Aquarius is a perfect conduit for visionary Jupiter, the planet of expansion and optimism. With Moon-Jupiter we tend to be more upbeat emotionally, which may explain why we often attract more positive things to us under this influence.

Jupiter also governs our sense of humor and when aligned with the Moon, there can be more of an ability to see things from a humorous perspective, which can also be a good way to help endear other people to us. I think most of us like to be around people who can “lighten us up,” or make us laugh, don’t you?

The Moon will be in Aquarius all day again today, not really making any other major aspects, the rest of the day, after her sextile to Jupiter. Shortly after midnight tonight, she will shift into dreamy Pisces.

Wanted to also briefly mention that we are getting ready to have another “high-drama” Venus-Pluto hookup tomorrow (3:19 am EDT), which can often be a real “soap operish” type aspect in which we are tempted to go to extremes, especially in romance. Venus rules love and money. Pluto rules power and manipulation. This influence is already starting to apply so we may want to monitor ourselves today and make sure that we are not acting too pushy, accusatory, or self-serving. (We can also encounter boorish types who act this way with us.)

Also, it’s probably a good idea to hold off  issuing “Pluto” ultimatums for a few days. Venus-Pluto tends to fire up our emotions and passions.

“Love comes when manipulation stops.” Joyce Brothers

Famous Birthdays April 26th: Michael Damian (49), Carol Burnett (78). BTW, Carol has both her Moon and Sun in down-to-earth, easy to relate to Taurus, and her Sun is exactly conjunct her Venus in Taurus, endowing her with a lot of warmth to her personality and also giving her a strong personal power of attraction (Venus). Sun-Venus aspects also can denote artistic ability.

She also has Mars and Neptune conjunct in exacting Virgo which can be a phenomenal force for stoking the creative juices (Mars energizes whatever it touches and Neptune rules the imagination, also acting). Too, Carol, has her Moon trine Jupiter (sense of humor), a very similar aspect to the Moon-Jupiter sextile influence that we have in operation today, an aspect which I also happen to have exact in my chart. Of course, Carol Burnett is a legend in the comedy world. I have admired her all my life for being so talented and funny.  In my own way, I also try to be lighthearted and optimistic, and I can usually manage to find the humor in things, but I’m certainly no comedian. How about you? Can you usually see the humor in situations? Do you think others find you funny? Do you have a Moon-Jupiter linkup in your horoscope? Or perhaps Mercury-Jupiter or Sun-Jupiter (equivalent type energy)? Hopefully, too, we’ll all find something to laugh about today.

“A well-developed sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to your steps as you walk the tightrope of life.” William Arthur Ward

Enjoy your day!

Patricia’s Astrology Horoscope November 8, 2010: Yes We Can

COSMIC WEATHER:

The Emotional Moon continues in “Big Picture” Sagittarius, along with Pioneering Mars. Mental Mercury also joins the proselytizing pair there today, leaving guarded Scorpio (6:43 pm EST). With the Moon, Mars, and Mercury all installed in Sagittarius, we have an enthusiastic trio of, “Yes we can!” energy at our disposal.

Also, later on in the day, the Moon forms a square aspect to Optimistic Jupiter (9:04 pm EST), the ruler of Sagittarius, at which time we should pretty much be able to “walk on water.”

Sagittarius, the Archer, is a very futuristic, positive, and goal-oriented sign known for its broad vision.  The keywords for it are: “I inspire.”

One big drawback, though, to the “Eye on the distant horizon” Sagittarius energy is that it tends to “gloss over details.” And we all know that “The Devil” is ready to pounce on us, whenever we “screw up” or “get careless” with the details. So we need to make sure today that we also enlist the support of the Shrewd, Investigative Scorpio Sun before we “get in over our head.”

Activities highlighted today: Preaching, teaching, academic matters, writing, publishing, speaking, sales, cold-calling, social networking, traveling.

Quote for Today:

“If you only do what you know you can do – you never do very much.” Tom Krause

This Day in History:

On November 8, 1989, Douglas Wilder is elected the first black U.S. governor (Virginia).  Also, on that same date, David Dinkins is elected the first black mayor of New York city.

On that day, the Sun, Mercury, and Pluto are all exactly conjunct in “Transforming” Scorpio, the sign which Pluto rules. So we had like a “double-whammy” of major “renovating-type” energy.

Normally, when the Sun, which signifies power and leadership issues, conjoins “Controlling” Pluto, matters of dominance and control naturally come to the forefront. Intellectual Mercury’s inclusion here also suggests that our “mental consciousness” of the day was “more predisposed” towards embracing the idea of “a new order.” (Scorpio)

“Trailblazing” Mars was also at 2 degrees of Scorpio and exactly sextile to “Equality Ruling” Uranus, the electrifying “planet of change,”  at 2 degrees of Capricorn, the sign that “rules government.” “Energizer” Mars always tends to “fire us up,” and aligned with “Out of the Box” Uranus, we were much more likely to want to embark down “new” or “non-traditional” paths then, and also more interested in seeing that others also be granted “equal rights” or “equal input” (Uranus) in the hierarchy of government (Capricorn).

COSMIC WEATHER:

The Feminine Moon continues in Maternal Cancer emphasizing our nurturing instincts. The Moon is also lovingly supported here by Relationship Venus conjoined the Empowering Sun in Healing Scorpio. With Venus-Sun, we have perfect, soothing energy for forging intimate connections with others. Our creativity is also elevated.

Venus, too, represents “things of beauty.” With Venus-Sun, we have more of a desire to be surrounded by beautiful objects. Therefore, it’s a good day to go shopping for items of personal adornment (clothes, jewelry, perfume) or for decorative accessories to jewel the home front, especially with the Moon now in Domestic Diva Cancer.  Too, with Venus and the Sun deposited in transitioning Scorpio, it may be a time when we can snatch some treasures at estate sales or consignment shops.

Meanwhile, Energy planet Mars, representing our will and self-assertion, leaves Intense Scorpio for Visionary Sagittarius (2:48 am EDT), where it is in search of wisdom and higher knowledge. Mars in Sagittarius has a deep need for learning, and also an equal desire to don the soapbox and speak out on the issues of the day. With Mars in Sagittarius, we will want to passionately begin rallying behind the causes we believe in, and not be afraid to state our personal views and opinions. (Mars will be in Sagittarius until December 7th.)

Interestingly, the last time Mars entered Sagittarius, mid-November of 2008, is when U.S. President-elect Barack Obama resigned his Senate seat. Sagittarius is the sign of politics, and with Aggressor Mars’ entry into this sign, the upcoming U.S. midterm-elections, on tap for next week, are certain to become even more heated.

The intrinsic nature of Mars is “trail-blazing” and “pioneering,” so it could be, theoretically, that with Mars in Sagittarius, incumbents may have a harder time holding onto their seats. It could also mean that many of us will be more energized to get involved in politics, this election season, instead of sitting on the sidelines. Mars denotes our passions and tends to “fire us up.” On the shadow side, Mars in Sagittarius is more inclined to be impulsive, reckless, and scattered.

News Update: With Mars entering idealistic Sagittarius today the Minister of Defense in France announced that France and some other NATO nations may begin withdrawing troops from Afghanistan next year. Interestingly, Mars rules war and the military. Its departure from defensive, retaliatory Scorpio to Inspirational, Philosophical Sagittarius could be interpreted perhaps as more of a willingness to “tame the aggressive urge” out of hope that a “higher order of things” may prevail in the future.  Sagittarius is more of a dreamy, visionary sign.

Activities highlighted now: cooking, decorating, teaching, learning, writing, politics, romance, parties, antiquing, healing, beauty treatments, personal pampering.

Quote For The Day:

“In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.” Thomas Jefferson

Famous Birthday Today:

American computer billionaire, Bill Gates, is 55 today! Gates has a Resourceful, Investigative Scorpio Sun, with a Pioneering Aries Moon (conjunct his Aries 10th house of Career), and a Nurturing Cancer Rising or Ascendant. Uranus, which denotes genius and originality, is conjunct Gate’s Ascendant, making him futuristic and a trend-setter, and also very brilliant and original.  In his money house, Jupiter and Pluto are also exactly conjunct in Flashy, Regal Leo, a classic signature of “mega-money.” Happy Birthday, Bill!

This Date In History:

On October 28, 1636, Harvard University was founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Jupiter, which rules higher education and colleges, was conjunct Venus, in Analytical Virgo. Venus rules “what we love,” and combined with Scholarly Jupiter, there can be an “abundant love of learning.” Jupiter, the expansive principle, also rules the Academically-minded sign of Sagittarius (which Mars is entering today).

Also, Venus and Jupiter were in a harmonious trine to Renewing Pluto, in Anchoring Taurus, suggesting that “educational pursuits” could provide opportunity for “transformation and firm footing.” No telling how many doors have been opened, over the years, for individuals holding distinguished degrees from Harvard University.

“The world, indeed, is like a dream and the treasures of the world are an alluring mirage! Like the apparent distances in a picture, things have no reality in themselves, but they are like heat haze.” Buddha

It’s Day Two of the Visionary Sagittarius Moon. Manic Mars is in a challenging 135-degree aspect to Deceptive Neptune in Brotherly Love Aquarius. The Grandiose Leo Sun is also contraparallel to Neptune who is quickly becoming hallucinatory from contraband drugs.

Obtuse Jupiter, Depressive Saturn, and Cruel Pluto are still tightly embraced in the historical Cardinal T-Cross, galvanizing many of us way beyond our normal limits.

“We’re pretty spaced out, no doubt about it. We may choose to engage in thought, but only at our own peril. And without any assurance that what we are actually thinking, seeing, hearing, or being told by others, has any underlying basis in reality. Just another typical day for many of us.  But today we do have the added luxury of diamonds ‘descending from the sky.'”
