COSMIC WEATHER:
Our enthusiasm knows no bounds as sexy, go-getter Mars sextiles fortuitous, expansive Jupiter, who is likely toting a large bag of goodies for us today. This is a super aspect! Great time to forge ahead with important projects, get things done, especially anything business-related, as Mars is still in ambitious Capricorn, which rules status, career, and reputation. Since Mars also rules sex there could possibly be big breakthroughs here as well, depending, of course, on the size and stature of the individual(s) we are involved with. Again, with Jupiter figuring prominently into the equation, bigger is definitely better, and very much preferred! đ
Also this is a more positive time for dealing with bankers, members of the military, politicians, journalists, writers, publishers, lawyers, teachers, travel agents, clergy, and athletes. Physical fitness and sports-related activities additionally get the green light. Weâre loving competition now, as it gives us a golden chance to strut our hot stuff all over the place!
Our thoughts also become more pragmatic and success-oriented today with Mercuryâs return to utilitarian Capricorn, where it will stay until February 3rd. We excel now by adopting a communication style that is more purposeful and strategizing. It is key now that we let others know exactly what it is that we are hoping to accomplish with respect to our major goals. A time to enlist the support of higher-ups four our noble causes.
Possible questions to ponder now:
What floats our boat or gets us excited?
If we could magically do anything today, what would we do? Change the lint filter in the dryer? Watch paint dry? Part our hair differently?
What is holding us back from doing those things that we secretly desire to do? Lack of money or resources? Lack of time? Lack of focus? Bad breath? Marital status?
What are our goals for 2011? What can we do this very day that will help to move us forward, closer to attaining those goals? Is there perhaps anyone we can bribe or pay-off to expedite our success? đ
Do we know anyone in high places that we can schmooze around with now, who can maybe open up a few doors for us? For instance, we may want to see if President Obama is available for perhaps lunch one day next week. Too, it will be our treat. No taxpayer expense involved. We don’t want to create a ruckus or encounter any backlash with the ongoing Pluto in governmental Capricorn purge mentality.

COSMIC WEATHER: January 11th through the 16th
Mental Mercury (communication) and manic Mars (aggressive urge) are hogging most of the astrological press this week. Thatâs okay. Weâll respectfully give them their fifteen minutes.
Mercury wraps up its stay in visionary Sagittarius, dutifully heading for the ambitious, goat-studded hills of Saturn-ruled Capricorn (January 13th). Our thoughts become more practical, more focused.
Also, self-assertive Mars shifts out of conforming Capricorn for Aquariusâ more non-conforming terrain (January 15th), which is psychedelically-peppered, at this time, with aging hippies, awkwardly still trying to âdo their own thing,â despite all the intense years of pot-smoking and skinny-dipping. Uranus-ruled Aquarius, a sign that likes to wickedly âbend the rules,â fully embraces diversity, even the die-hard, hippie kind. Itâs probably a good thing, too, that the hippies at least have a place to go to, a sign to âcall home.â
With Mars in Aquarius now, too, itâs possible that we could even temporarily befriend one or two of these tie-dyed beings. Maybe help them to find their way, or whatever it is that they still are looking for. Maybe another Woodstock? Could be they are sticking around to see the re-emergence of bell-bottoms as a major, hot fashion trend?
January 11th: Talker Mercury meets up with big hips Jupiter in blabbermouth Sagittarius. The end result: No one gets to have the last word on anything! Steady diet of redundant chatter permeates the air everywhere. Unless we have plenty of time on our hands, itâs best to refrain from asking anyone about their personal religious or political beliefs, or about anything controversial, for that matter, as we will likely be going at each otherâs throat until the cows come home. Too, we tend to zealously over-estimate our humble abilities now, i.e. bite off more than we can chew, both literally and symbolically.
Also, we need to carefully, and systematically, scrutinize documents and contracts closely, before putting our âJohn or Mary Doeâ on them. With Mercury-Jupiter, we tend to âgloss over details,â as weâre thinking too much about the âbig picture.â Mercury-Jupiter is all too often linked with misunderstandings because we tend to get sloppy or arrogant in our thinking and assume too much.
Moon in pioneering Aries still has us âblazing new trails,â although the opposition to taskmaster Saturn (8:48 pm EST) may temporarily put a roadblock in our path.
Questions to ask ourselves today: Do we tend to talk too much? Often put our foot in our mouth? What shuts us up quickly? What is our favorite topic to talk about?
January 12th: We are much more likely to feel comfortable taking unorthodox approaches with things, especially on the professional front, as we have enterprising Mars in industrious Capricorn sextile to innovative, freedom-seeking Uranus in creative Pisces. Job seekers may want to try new strategies today, particularly utilizing opportunities provided by social networking (Uranus rules the internet).
We all tend to shine more by inserting our clever originality into the picture, instead of mindlessly subscribing to the fuddy duddy status quo. The Universe is beckoning, actually clamoring for us today, to deviate from the norm. To venture outside of our cozy, designer-decorated boxes. Too, if we are up to serious mingling with others, we may get a chance to interface with highly progressive types, who can really move us forward, with their ingenious, if not wacky, off-the-wall ways of thinking.
For those of us who still maintain an active, or even a semi-active sex life (ruled by Mars), that intimate activity could possibly become more exciting now by trying out new, inventive ânight movesâ in the bedroom. Or, we may want to continue doing the same, sexy little things that we always do under the sheets, but with new lovers. Mars-Uranus likes to experiment, and also endows us with more of a scientific bent. Just pray that white laboratory mice donât somehow enter into our nighttime equation.
The Moon also vacates accelerator Aries for lusty, self-indulgent Taurus (10:37 pm EST), which also may help our feverish, nocturnal meanderings. Chocolate, too, may be an especially heady aphrodisiac now. (Moon is in Taurus till the 15th.)
Probing questions to consider today: What is sex? Is it something we engaged in at one time with another person? Is there anything we can do now to hasten the return of it to our lives, now that we finally have this sexy Mars aspect beaming down upon us?
January 13th: Our enthusiasm knows no bounds as sexy, go-getter Mars sextiles fortuitous, expansive Jupiter, who is likely toting a large bag of goodies for us. This is a super aspect! Great time to forge ahead with important projects, get things done, especially anything business-related, as Mars is still in ambitious Capricorn, which rules status, career, and reputation. Also a more positive time for dealing with bankers, members of the military, politicians, journalists, writers, publishers, lawyers, teachers, travel agents, clergy, and athletes. Physical fitness and sports-related activities additionally get the green light. Weâre loving competition now, as it gives us a golden chance to strut our hot stuff all over the place!
Our thoughts also become more pragmatic and serious today with Mercuryâs return to utilitarian Capricorn, where it will stay until February 3rd. We excel now by adopting a communication style that is more purposeful and strategizing. It is also critical now that we let others know exactly what it is that we are hoping to accomplish with respect to our major goals. A time to enlist the support of higher-ups to our causes.
Possible questions to ponder now: What floats our boat? What gets us excited? If we could magically do anything today, what would we do? What are our goals for 2011? What can we do this very day that will help to move us forward, closer to attaining those goals?
January 14th: Moon continues in acquisition-minded Taurus. We may want to focus on ways to build up our nest egg, while simultaneously luxuriating around the house in our silk pajamas. The Taurus Moon is all about creature comforts. Also a good time to work with the earth, or for fashioning things from clay.
Things to think about today: Are we satisfied with our present financial situation? Do we have enough money coming in to meet our needs? Are there any steps that we can take now to make us feel more secure? In our quest for material security, should we try to perhaps get on the Oprah Show, before she goes off the air, in hopes that she will be characteristically playing Santa again in the near future? Maybe we should also go so far as to suggest to Oprah that she make every future Oprah show, this 2011 season, a âfavorite things show,â since this is her last go round and lucky Jupiter is still technically aligned with Oprahâs ruling planet, Uranus, which also rules broadcasting (Oprah is an Aquarian). Point out to her that it is âclearly written in the starsâ for her to keep playing Santa now, since Jupiter rules Santa Claus, and she is in Uranian-ruled broadcasting. Tell her that this Jupiter-Uranus configuration is the very âbelieve in miraclesâ aspect that she is always talking about.
Itâs very cool, too, that with the Jupiter-Uranus aspect exact to the minute last week, âSt. Nickâ Oprah publicly discussed making âTed Williams,â an ex-radio announcer, the official voice of the OWN network. Got to love Tedâs timing! Uranus rules radio announcers, with the Jupiter-Uranus here, helping to miraculously sweeten their lot in in life. Glad for all the success and love swirling around Ted Williams.
January 15th: Pioneering Mars takes the plunge and skyrockets into hi-tech, futuristic Aquarius. We are eager to venture off into unchartered waters. Progress is made by embracing change in our daily lives and collaborating with original thinkers, more non-comforming types. We may want to expand our networking efforts now and also get involved more with group causes, or group ventures. Form new friendships, make new acquaintances (all Aquarius ruled).
The Moon also enters curious, loquacious Gemini. A plus for the more impromptu, convention-defying Mars in intellectual Aquarius. The Gemini Moon provides us with flexibility and more of a willingness to go with the flow. Incorporating change is more doable with the Moon here. We’re not as rigid now. We also have more of a capacity to see the humor in any situation. A positive element that often gets downplayed, but can come in very handy for coping with the mighty stress and woes of living in a material world.
Questions to entertain today: How are we about embracing change? Do we welcome new strategies, or prefer to stick with the tried-and-true? Is there any one area in our life now that would perhaps benefit by employing new methods? What is the most off-the-wall thing we have done in the past year? Have we even done anything off-the-wall, lately? If not, why not? Could it be that we are wrapped too tight?
January 16th: Moon continues in cheerful, chatterbox Gemini. We’re more predisposed to reveling over gossip at the water cooler today, in our glorious quest to gather information. No matter whether or not there is a worthwhile component to the info. It’s the gathering process, the collecting of data, which is most important to the Gemini Moon. Reading, conversation, short trips can stimulate now. Great time for any sales or cold-calling activity, or for matters of self-promotion.
Later, an important bond or tie could also be formed with the Moonâs magical trine to stabilizing Saturn in partnership Libra (3:47 pm EST). A perfect time then to communicate our more serious intentions.
Questions to possibly grapple with today: Is there something, a subject matter, that we have been dying to talk about, for a while now, but have been hesitant to? What has been holding us back from having this conversation? What are some of our favorite words? If we had to describe ourselves in one word, what would that word be? Lovable? Toxic? Brilliant? Sensitive? Diabolical? I think for me, I would have to go with “light-hearted.”
âIf you donât like something, change it. If you canât change it, change the way you think about it.â Mary Engelbreit.
Have a great week! Reach for the stars! Including here, of course, Hollywood stars, like George Clooney. Keep the dream alive! đ

Probing questions to consider today: What is sex? Is it something we engaged in at one time with another person? Is there anything we can do now to hasten the return of it to our lives, now that we finally have this sexual Mars aspect beaming down upon us?
January 14th: Moon continues in acquisition-minded Taurus, which governs money, possessions, and what we esteem or value. Our values, too, can often be decoded by what we spend our money on. We may want to focus now on practical ways to build up our precious nest egg, while simultaneously luxuriating around the house in our silk pajamas eating bon-bons. The Venus-ruled Taurus Moon is all about seeking out decadent pleasure, creature comforts, indulging the physical senses, in addition to having to grapple with the often âweightier issueâ of procuring material security, a matter which can often feel like having a big ânoose around our neck,â especially in todayâs challenging economic climate.
Things to think about today:Are we satisfied with our present financial situation? Do we have enough money coming into our household to meet our daily needs, and to also lead the lifestyle that we desire? Too, are we grateful for the things that we already have in our life? Are we managing our resources diligently, or do we squander our money? Are there any steps that we can maybe take now to make our lives more materially-secure?
Also, in our quest for material abundance, should we try, perhaps, to get on the Oprah Show, before she goes off the air, in hopes that she will be characteristically playing Santa again in the near future? Maybe we should also go so far as to suggest to Oprah, maybe through an email to her website, oprah.com, that she make every future Oprah show, this 2011 season, a yuletide-spirited âfavorite things show,â since this is, sadly, her last go round (aside, of course, from OWN), and that lucky Jupiter is still technically and philanthropically aligned with Oprahâs ruling planet, Uranus, which also rules broadcasting (Oprah is an Aquarian). Point out to her that it is âclearly written in the starsâ for her to keep playing a generous Santa-type role now, since Jupiter rules Santa Claus, and she is in Uranian-ruled broadcasting, and these two planets are together now. Also, make her existentially aware of the fact that this same âJupiter-Uranus configurationâ is the very âbelieve in miraclesâ thing that she is always alluding to in her insightful, consciousness-raising dialogue with us. Donât anyone say, either, that this is âtoo much of a stretchâ here, about the possible Oprah involvement or rescue in our lives. We have all simply got to believe this, in order to achieve it! Jupiter-Uranus in visionary Pisces is about dreaming, and hope for a bright future, especially one with Hugh Jackman in Australia. We canât help it if lovely, dear Oprah, just happens to be part of the equation. Simultaneously, we are very glad and thankful that she is.
Itâs very cool, too, that when the magical Jupiter-Uranus aspect was exact to the minute last week, âSt. Nickâ Oprah publicly discussed making âTed Williams,â an ex-radio announcer, the official voice of the OWN network. Not sure if this is going to happen, but we have got to love Tedâs timing! Surfacing when he did, thanks to that fortuitous, caring newspaper guy at the Columbus Dispatch, originally spotting him, and later going to bat for him by posting his encounter with Ted via a Pisces-ruled video on the Uranian-ruled internet. Uranus also rules radio announcers, with the Jupiter-Uranus aspect here, helping to miraculously sweeten their lot. So glad for all the success and love swirling around Ted Williams.
(Since originally writing the above on Monday, Ted has reportedly entered rehab for his alleged addiction problems. Apparently, with prompting from televisionâs Dr. Phil. Jupiterâs intrinsic nature can be protective, and aligned with Uranus, there can be a sudden âawakeningâ and swift movement in our affairs. Pisces also governs rehabilitation and rehab centers. Neptune, Piscesâ ruler, is associated with addiction and dependencies. Hopefully, Ted will now be able to acquire the care that his spirit maybe needs, so that he can continue positively on his path. To go from homelessness, to overnight celebrity on a world-stage, I believe, would be very stressful for most of us.
Another thing that I think has been enlightening about this Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Pisces now, on more of a collective basis, is that by hearing about Tedâs story, hearing about his struggles over the years, and his battle with his addictions, we are becoming keenly reminded again about the matter of addictions, a Pisces-related subject. (Too, of course, there has been the ongoing, high-profile story of Lindsey Lohan and her alleged addiction problems.)
So many of us privately suffer from addictions, whether to food, drugs, sex, etc. Also, ironically while writing/updating this right now, I just came across a news story that said that Oprah reportedly told Piers Morgan in an interview that she coped with depression, at one time, by eating â30 pounds of mac nâ cheese!â This overeating or binging by Oprah reportedly was a way of coping for her, in the face of her movie, âThe Beloved,â flopping at the box office, sending her into a temporary, downward, emotional spiral. Also kind of weird here: Ted Williams just made those four Kraft Macaroni and Cheese commercials last week, as part of his newly-found fame. Could there be a possible Jupiter-Uranus connection to all this? The plot thickens! Or, would we be more technically correct here by saying, âthe cheese melts?â Hopefully, too, Oprah wonât be tempted again to fall off the wagon, with the mac nâ cheese, despite Tedâs inadvertently ârubbing her nose in itâ by recording the commercials.
In addition to representing addictions, Pisces also denotes those persons who are disenfranchised or downtrodden. Or maybe confined, hidden away. Or people who are simply âdown on their luck,â with their voices suppressed or muted, or problematic, for one reason or another. Perhaps some of these individuals lead more nomadic type lifestyles i.e. are homeless, like Ted Williams. Or, it could be that they are mentally or physically ill. Also, of course, there is the very tragic matter of that shooter in Tucson, allegedly suffering from serious mental illness, who has suddenly come on all our radar screens now in the worst possible way. The âPiscesâ experience often symbolizes that part of life that we prefer not to think about, or psychologically visit. As it can show us our limitations, our afflictions. Our pain and desperation.
Pisces, as a level of experience, however, can also nobly point out to us the deep need, both individually and collectively, for having sympathy and extending compassion. Reminding us of the basic fact of life on the earth plane: That, in the end, we are all âour brotherâs keeper.â That it is also not always a wise idea to prematurely âassign judgment or blame.â That we are all vulnerable, from time to time, in our lives. That we can also all thrive and benefit sometimes from an angelic, caring, helping hand. Sometimes even a simple smile, or a kind word, can give someone infinite hope and faith and help someone to rise above the ashes.)

January 15th: Energy planet Mars, symbolically depicting the urge for self-assertion, takes the big plunge and officially sky-rockets into hi-tech, futuristic Aquarius, the opinionated, scientific home of wacky astronomers waxing delusional and very bitterly about 13 zodiacal signs. (See link below)Â Mars will stay in this sign until February 22nd.
With Mars in Aquarius, a sign which represents cultural diversity and “changing things up,” we are eager to venture off into unchartered waters, as long as we are able to cart along, of course, our smartphones and other technological gadgetry. Aquarius rules innovation and invention, especially more of a scientific or technological nature.
Theoretically we “progress” now by embracing or cultivating change, and utilizing new approaches or strategies in our daily endeavors. As part of this orientation we may want to collaborate with more original-type thinkers, or more non-comforming types, to get a fresh take on things. We may want also to expand our networking efforts now and get involved more with group causes, or group ventures (Aquarius rules groups and friends). Mars in Aquarius = energy for groups.
The Moon also enters curious, loquacious Gemini today. In Gemini, the Moon provides us with more of a penchant and willingness for flexibility, as well as more of an ability to go with the flow. We’re not as rigid now, and we’re also wanting to physically move around. We have more of a capacity to see the humor in any situation, too, as this Moon tends to be more light-hearted. Humor is a positive trait that often gets overlooked, but it’s something that can come in handy for coping with the mighty stresses and woes of living in Madonna’s material world, but, unfortunately, without Madonna’s nifty checkbook.
Questions to entertain today:How are we about embracing change? Do we welcome new strategies, or prefer to stick with the tried-and-true? Is there any one area in our life now that could perhaps benefit by employing new methods? If we could change one thing about ourselves, what would it be? What is the most off-the-wall thing we have done in the past year? Have we even done anything off-the-wall, lately? If not, why not? Could it be that we are packaged too tightly, and that we should give ourselves permission to roam around a little, or a lot?
“They must often change, who would be constant in happiness or wisdom.” Confucius

Questions to possibly grapple with today:Is there something, a subject matter, that we have been dying to talk about, for a while, but have been hesitant to do so? What has been holding us back from having this conversation? What are some of our favorite words? If we had to describe ourselves in one word, what would that word be? Lovable? Toxic? Brilliant? Sensitive? Diabolical? I think for me, I would have to go with “light-hearted.”
âIf you donât like something, change it. If you canât change it, change the way you think about it.â Mary Engelbreit.
Have a great week! Reach for the stars! Including here, of course, Hollywood stars, like George Clooney. Keep hope alive! đ

Cosmic Weather:
The Moon exits contemplative Pisces for pioneering Aries (10:24 am EST). A time when we want to be starting something new and exciting in our lives. We also have intellectual Mercury, in enthusiastic Sagittarius, square to non-conforming Uranus, the planet of sudden change, which is in idealistic Pisces. This potent aspect tends to foster the formation of more radical ideas, or radical thinking. The nature of Uranus is generally more rebellious. Uranus likes to play the devil’s advocate, too. Mercury-Uranus can confer brilliance upon us. Uranus characteristically speeds up our thinking. But, at the same time, it can also be a more mentally unstable and erratic time for us, as we get these instant revelations and then suddenly they’re gone. It could be that we want to avoid making snap decisions, and also hold off acting on any of our sudden, genius insights, for a few days. Wait until they have had some time to distill or gel.
Additionally, we have Mercury sextile to mystic guru Neptune, with Neptune ruling our link to the divine and also our psychic ability. This aspect may generate more of an intellectual desire to seek out more spiritually-based activities. Perhaps we may want to read more inspirational material, or books on psychic development. Or, try psychic experiments, which is something that I personally love to do. Neptune also rules our dreams, so this is an ideal time for paying closer attention to our dreams now, and trying to unravel their magical symbolism. Dreams can often foretell our future, if we are but able to glean their meaning. Dream study is also a great way, in general, for staying connected with our subconscious, or what’s going on below the surface of our conscious awareness.
I remember, years ago, I had a very vivid dream about boarding a train in my home town. On this train, I met a man, and rode with him for the duration of the train ride, which seemed to last forever. At the end of the dream, however, that man stayed on the train, but I got off of it. When I woke up from that dream, I intuitively immediately knew that I was going to be “meeting a man” soon in my waking life. Well, within a week, I met my husband! But, it wasn’t on a train. It was in a radio station in my home town. I was on the air doing a call-in astrology show. My life – my personal journey – of course, changed forever, when I met Daniel, and we did, indeed, embark on an extended “life trip” with each other for twenty years, until his early death from cancer. Our relationship also ended up permanently taking me away, geographically, from my birthplace, as the two of us eventually settled far away from where I was born. I was thinking this morning, too, how in the dream, I got off the train by myself, perhaps indicating that my real life journey would later include living without my husband physically by my side. BTW, years ago, I did do intuitive dream interpretation on the radio with listeners, when I had my own radio show.
Neptune additionally governs our imagination and creativity. This influence should considerably help to elevate or boost our creativity, and also help with our powers of visualization. Excellent day for any creative writing project (Mercury rules words), especially with the simultaneous Mercury-Uranus aspect, which can provide us with unique, original insights, along with a good measure of quirky thoughts, which can also sometimes be kind of cool. Neptune also rules imagery, so it’s a fantastic day for painting or photography.
On a personal note, as I mentioned several days ago, I am going to be changing some things with my blog, this year. While I have enjoyed writing the daily horoscopes, I am going to begin doing them on a weekly basis instead. I want more time to focus on other writing projects for a while. Also, there’s the matter of making more time, hopefully, for a life with George Clooney in 2011. Ever the optimist here! đ Too, I still plan on writing special articles on the lunations, planets changing signs, etc. here.

“Love is like the truth, sometimes it prevails, sometimes it hurts.” Victor M. Garcia, Jr.
Cosmic Weather:
Moon continues in tender-hearted, hippie bead stringing Pisces. Until further notice, we are advised to continue with the meditative chant and incense-burning. But we may want to moderate our intake of certain kinds of brownies. Specifically the funny-smelling ones made by our more leftist-leaning friends. This is due to the addictive nature of the Piscean Moon.
Too, it is expected and acknowledged that we will be compassionately taking in stray pets and animals. However, it may be a good idea to steer clear of, or at least be very cautious about, giving shelter to any pitiful, stray males, of the human variety, as doing so, at this time, could come with a whole host of obscure and difficult entanglements. Don’t even get me started here on this thorny topic. Especially after last night! đ
This is mainly because we have love child Venus in âspur of the moment sexâ Sagittarius semi-square âwet blanketâ Saturn in conjugal Libra. Venus-Saturn often represents âobligatory or enforced closenessâ with critical or cold-hearted types we donât really like or cannot figure out. We also have the emotional Moon quinqunx Saturn, potentially rubbing more salt into the relationship wounds (8:03 am EST).
On the positive side, we later catch a very nice break with the Moon sextile Capricorn Sun (12:20 pm EST) imbuing us, once again, with a heady and comforting sense of our own power and authority.
A few questions to perhaps ask ourselves today:
How do we characteristically deal with difficult people? Are we able to confront them and stand our own ground? Or, do we tend to implode and let them run roughshod over us?
How do we handle criticism or rejection, especially from loved ones?
Do we tend to stay in relationships long after their recommended expiration dates? If so, is this because we feel dutifully bound to do so? Or, is it because we are more fearful of moving on? Are security issues keeping us in limited relationships (this can often be the case with Venus-Saturn)?
Do we expect love? Do we feel worthy of love? What is our most lovable feature?
Have we given any thought to becoming a nun, as a sensible, simple solution to all of our dire romantic problems? You know, the Pisces Moon does rule convents and nunneries. “Get thee to a nunnery!” William Shakespeare. Yes, William, the cosmic timing may be right for this!

Vulnerable Luna continues in, âIf I keep the faith, I know I’ll be able to levitateâ Pisces.
âLook closely at my toes. Very closely. I believe that, if you do, you will already see them starting to rise majestically above the ground. Wow!!! Isn’t that the coolest thing? Imagine all the new, exciting possibilities that this fab, mystic ability opens up for us! Especially for vacuuming, and reaching those hard to get at areas near the crystal chandelier on the ceiling!â Yes, the more “spiritually-minded” Pisces Moon, always a tad bit delusional, bodes well for any weekend activities centered around prayer, meditation, and levitation (with certain restrictions).
We are also highly creative and very imaginative. Good time for music, singing, songwriting, painting, poetry, dancing, film-making, etc. We may want to unwind with more quiet, peaceful activities tonight. Too, with love goddess Venus in visionary Sagittarius, holding hands in a Buddhist temple, or romantically cuddling up together on a church pew, may be perfect ways to express our undying love and affection for each other.
The late great Elvis Presley would have been 76 years old today. Happy birthday, Elvis! We know youâre still in the building somewhere. Elvis, a hard-working Capricorn, also had his Moon in sensitive, caring Pisces in the third house of communication in his horoscope. He was adeptly able to pick up on other peopleâs moods and feelings. Also, of course, able to communicate and connect with others in a riveting emotional manner, especially through his music. Elvis was a very compassionate person, and very generous. Other Pisces Moon trademarks.
Iâve been working on an astrology book about Elvis, off and on, for a while now. Need to get it completed. Iâm a big, big Elvis fan. Especially love all his songs from the 50s, and also the late 60s. My favorite Elvis song is âSuspicious Minds,â written by Mark James. The song was released on August 26, 1969, when lucky Jupiter was conjunct brilliant Uranus in artistic Libra, an aspect of genius. Also a configuration associated with miracles. As many know, we have that same Jupiter-Uranus conjunction now in dreamy Pisces. The very day it was exact, this past week, was the day that Ted Williams, the homeless man with a golden voice, who formerly worked as a radio announcer (an Uranus-ruled occupation), was suddenly discovered. Also that same day, a ten year old girl became the youngest person in the world to discover a supernova, while looking through a telescope with her father. (Uranus also rules astronomy.) Another miraculous event! Hope something miraculous happens to each and every one of my three, faithful blog readers today.

Cosmic Weather:
It’s sort of like we’re driving a car with the brakes on today. It may be hard to get very far! Yes, the cruel Universe has us dealing with the ravages of “Sun square Saturn” (9:01 am EST). With the old fart (Saturn) trying to slow us down, beat us up, and pummel us at every turn. đ
Of course, there are some positives here: We’re building character. Learning to be wise and patient, in the face of inordinate odds and restrictions. We’re also learning how to postpone our gratification. Etc., etc.
Success is not totally out of the picture. But, we may have to work much harder for it. Such is the seemingly wicked nature of taskmaster Saturn. Too, sometimes with Sun-Saturn, some of our enterprises go belly-up for good. No real point in reviving them, either. It may be best to just cut our losses, and move on. On to bigger and better.
Fortunately for us, too, love maven Venus exits “always panting” Scorpio for “Please, just let me be free and unshackled again. That’s all I ask,” Sagittarius (7:31 am EST). Friends and acquaintances provide us with some measure of pleasure now. Impromptu and cheery Venus in Sadge does loves to have fun. Too, with Sun square Saturn lurking around today, at least we’ll be able to duly commiserate with each other in a refreshing way. Maybe even be able to see the humor in all the Saturnian gloom and doom.
Later, the bewitching Moon, up in the mysterious night sky, departs “strange bird” Aquarius for, “Let’s all just hug each other and drink till we drop,” Pisces (9:57 pm EST). “How does that sound? Like a pretty good plan?” Something we may all have to do, too, after a dire day with, “You can’t always get what you want,” Saturn. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We’ve heard all that before. We also know what’s coming next: “But, if you try sometimes, oh you just may find, you get what you need… Baby!” Yeah, yeah. Can’t you (Saturn) just go away? Always hovering around us with your diabolical rings. Don’t you have another place that you can go to for a while? Won’t anyone else take you in? Have you tried your mother?

The late great Jim Morrison was right: People are strange! Especially this morning, when we have the oddball Aquarius Moon semi-square to quirky Uranus (10:35 am EST). And, the Moon is also forming a semi-square to, “Hey, buddy, all I’m doing is thinking large” Jupiter (11:05 am EST). “Got a problem with that?” We prevail today by letting other people do their own thing, while privately scratching our heads and rolling our eyes.
Later on, we also have the Moon parallel to spaced out, hippie beads Neptune (3:58 pm EST). However, these psychedelic vibes fade away fast, and our feet are put back on the ground, when the Moon trines stabilizer Saturn (8:00 pm EST). A period when a more desirable “state of normalcy” is seemingly conjured up. Also a time when we can go full-speed ahead, with the formulation of our detailed plans, for a bright future with George Clooney in 2011. đ
Possible questions to ask ourselves today:
How do we feel about people who are strange? Do we try to figure them out, get entangled with them in any way, perhaps out of curiosity? Or, do we just leave them alone?
Who are some of the strangest people we have ever met?
Do we perceive ourselves to be a little bit different than the mainstream?
(Strange types, eccentrics, etc. are often depicted in a horoscope by planets in Aquarius, and major aspects to Uranus and or Neptune.)

“To laugh often and love much…to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to give one’s self…this is to have succeeded.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
Love goddess Venus, governing money and relationships, flits into friendly, high-flying Sagittarius on January 7th, where she will stay until February 4th. In Sadge, we become more freedom-loving, more lighthearted. We turn off the surveillance cameras (installed during Venus in Scorpio), because we are no longer naturally suspicious. We are much more trusting with this Venus placement, wanting to believe the best in others. We are also back to openly flirting and joking around. However, please don’t try to tie us down. There’s way too much of the world to see, and so little time. We are capable of commitment, but we would definitely prefer to be friends first.
Venus in Sagittarius does love to travel and explore, so this is a good period for us to book that flight or cruise, and get away. Sadge Venus also has a soft spot for people from other cultures. There can be a real love of languages, learning, philosophy, religion, politics, and writing. We may also feel more of a need to express our higher beliefs and viewpoints in our relationships now. Politicians, lawyers, writers, used car salesman, promoters, advertising sales reps, teachers (Sadge professions), may all be more romantically appealing to us. We are also more optimistic about our money prospects, and there may be more of an upside to our monetary affairs. Especially around January 23rd, when Venus favorably meets up with stabilizing Saturn.
Venus in Sadge Quote: “Mr. President. Tear down those walls!!! Free us from the shackles and handcuffs. Remove the secret recording devices in the phones. Venus in Scorpio has left the building!!!
Celebrities with Venus in Sagittarius: Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, Tina Turner, Christina Aguilera, David Bowie, Kevin Costner.
