There’s a strong desire for “liberation” today, at least theoretically on paper, as the empowering Sun is making its annual conjunction with freedom-loving Uranus, the official planet of change, and the unexpected. This alliance is occurring in the steadfast sign of Taurus the Bull (money, possessions, and values), however, which, ironically, also tends to be more resistant or reluctant to incorporate change, even if it’s the kind that is self-initiated, as Taurus basically has a hard time letting go or parting with whatever it has tangibly accumulated.
On the plus side, though, we are, seemingly, day by day, gradually learning how to be more resilient, resourceful, and adaptable, in this new era of COVID-19, and today, it looks like we are also going to be receiving some new innovative strategies or “consciousness-raising downloads” on how to not only cope but to actually thrive in this whole new experimental (Uranian) universe. Sun-Uranus generally tends to make us more comfortable with tinkering around with things, copping new approaches, essentially summoning forth our inner Thomas Edison.
Additionally, communicator Mercury is squaring visionary Jupiter today. While this aspect can also inspire us to really reach for the stars, it can sometimes cause us to become overly confident and gloss over important details. So we might want to keep this in mind so we don’t get too far ahead of ourselves.

The Moon spends another full day in active Aries, this Saturday, so anything that has a physical element to it gets a nod, if you’re up to it, that is. Also, this morning is an excellent time for any decluttering or refurbishing projects, especially on the homefront, as the Aries Moon is forming a square to eliminating and rebirthing Pluto (11:56 am).
On a personal note, the other day while I was cleaning out a small storage cabinet that I hadn’t looked inside for ages, I found several brand new items that I had no memory of ever buying. It was a little bit like embarking upon the thrill of the hunt! Unfortunately, though, I didn’t locate any misplaced, winning lotto tickets. 🙂 You sometimes hear about people doing that. Finding a ticket worth millions of dollars underneath an old girdle in a drawer. Or maybe under a pair of holey socks. You also gotta’ wonder, if you’re into astrology, what in the world did they have in their horoscope at the time they discovered the ticket? Maybe an aspect to Pluto? Pluto is associated with hidden treasure and excavation. Then, too, when you pair Pluto with Jupiter, that’s often when you stumble upon real mega-wealth!
Now, as fate would have it, would you believe that the Moon’s last major aspect in Aries today, before going void, is actually a trine to lucky Jupiter in Sagittarius ( 12:14 pm)? Could it be that we’re all on the edge of victory here??? That all we need to do is summon our inner Sherlock Holmes and, instead of heading for the hills, head for the drawers? As corny as that sounds.
The darn thing has gotta’ be around here somewhere! … 🙂

This Day in History: On March 9, 1776, the influential economics book “The Wealth of Nations” by Scottish economist and moral philosopher, Adam Smith, was published. This classic book offers, among other things, one of the world’s first collected descriptions of what builds nations’ wealth (Wikipedia).
In the sky on the date of the book’s publication, analytical Mercury was retrograde in creative Pisces (just like it is now) and had just separated from an exact square to philosophical Jupiter in information-oriented Gemini, a sign which is also ruled by Mercury. Mercury and Jupiter, of course, both govern our writing, thoughts, and ideas. Too, when these two planets are paired together is when you often will find more voluminous or comprehensive types of writing on a subject. Additionally, Jupiter is also the “wealth” planet and rules the world’s financial systems.

Mercury in Pisces squares Jupiter in Sagittarius (3:40 pm)
While we may be very jazzed up about our ideas, beliefs, and points of view today, including, perhaps, very eager and ready to perform full-fledged Jupiterian proselytizations on anyone who will give us just five minutes, chances are that we’re not quite ready for prime time yet! At least, that is, our ideas, etc. might not be fully ready for their big Broadway stage debuts. Had to clarify that! Of course, we’re ready! We’re always ready! 🙂
Often with Mercury square Jupiter in play, there’s a tendency for us to overpromise, overexaggerate, and bloviate, in general. We’re also more prone to overlooking key details because we’re less inclined to want to concentrate our attention now. Still, though, today can be a fun, stimulating time for conversation, or for writing. Especially in the first half of the day, as this energy is applying. That’s because, again, there’s a certain largeness to our thinking now that feels very positive. Our mental faculties are also being s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d. Mercury in Pisces is also already in its shadow phase, getting ready to turn retrograde on March 5, so we’re going to have this Mercury-Jupiter square, two more times, before it’s all over. Hopefully, we’ll get to see more of this evolving picture, each time it occurs. Eventually knowing exactly what to do! Anyway, hope always springs eternal here!
Venus Conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn (10:49 pm)
“Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.” Anais Nin
As we move more into the second half of the day, we’re likely going to be feeling more of the emotional intensity of the Venus-Pluto conjunction. This aspect can make us especially want to go deeper with our relationships, and to look at things that we may have not wanted to face before. But, now, we’re likely wanting to get to the bottom of things, maybe about ourselves, another person, or a situation, possibly because we no longer want to be living a lie, or an illusion. Or, things may have also reached a critical point now, where there’s no longer even an option of our turning back.
Additionally, we may also want to be healed now from whatever has been weighing us down, or holding us back. There’s definitely a lot of raw emotion out there now. And, ideally, it can be used for transformational purposes. But, first, we must scale to the depths and be willing to look at, unflinchingly, the true nature of things. See what comes up for us from below, and then release it, or try let it go.
It’s also interesting now that, with this Venus-Pluto conjunction taking place in authoritative Capricorn, Pope Francis is hosting a historic summit on combatting clergy sex abuse in the Catholic Church. On the shadow side, Venus-Pluto is sometimes associated with sexual abuse. Pluto specifically governing such things as sexually deviant or hidden or clandestine forms of behavior, violating sexual taboos, fetishes, obsessions, and even hate crimes. It can also translate into our wanting to be on a power trip of sorts. Wanting to, perhaps, exert maximum control over others for our own selfish purposes or gratification. Or, on the flip side, we may encounter or hear about individuals now who behave in this manner. Today, Pope Francis (b. 12/17/36) also has, in his natal chart, transiting Mars exactly conjunct his Uranus in Taurus in his tenth house of career and public standing. Mars-Uranus often signifying a powerful period when a person is called upon to initiate (Mars) radical reforms (Uranus). Uranus right now, too, is at 29 degrees of pioneering Aries, a critical degree in which we often feel compelled to take last-minute or final action on something that has been building for a while. What’s more, Pope Francis has his natal midheaven at 0 degrees of Taurus! So Uranus is getting ready to cross over it, in a few days. It’s likely that today’s summit is just the beginning, or a sampling, of what is probably going to be unfolding, in the future, around the Pope, and with the church, for a long time to come.
On another level, this can also be a time when we get more reality-focused about our finances, including possibly wanting to take measures to turn things around for the positive.
UPDATED:More Venus-Pluto high-profile type stories in the headlines today! This afternoon, singer R. Kelly was reportedly charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, some involving underage victims, according to US media reports. Also, Patriots owner Robert Kraft was, the billionaire owner of the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, was charged today with two counts of soliciting sex as part of a wide-ranging investigation into prostitution and suspected human trafficking in South Florida (New York Times).

“One person can make a difference, and everyone should try.” John F. Kennedy (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963)
COSMIC WATCH:
A New Moon in “hopeful” Sagittarius, the sign of the archer (7:32 am EST), encourages us to go forward in the “direction of our dreams.” Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of optimism and growth. Too, because our individual aspirations are often shaped, in large part, by the personal beliefs that we hold – an area that Sagittarius also governs – now, is an excellent time to reflect upon the deeper constructs or origins of our beliefs, and how they may, or may not be, serving us. Psychologists say that many of us have core beliefs about ourselves that we’re totally unaware of.
It’s interesting, too, that even if we may believe that something is “out of our reach” for us, for whatever reason, simply by going in the direction of it, we immediately begin to give momentum to the matter. Rumi once said, “What you seek is seeking you.” Sort of like, what we aim for also has us in its bull’s-eye. All we need to do is keep the faith, stay the course, and eventually we’ll get together.
Since this lunation is forming a square to “elusive” Neptune, the planet of fantasy and deception, we also want to, ideally, make sure that, “whatever we’re in pursuit of,” now, is something that’s going to positively support us well, in the long-run; that this dream or desire ties in favorably with our core values and the long-term vision that we have for ourselves, and is not just a pipedream. Sometimes, a shadow side of Neptune is that we want to “glamorize” reality, instead of looking at it squarely in the face, and embracing it.
Too, with “thinker” Mercury squaring “grandiose” Jupiter, today, it’s a bit easier for us to get carried away with our thoughts and ideas, as well as to gloss over the details. Basketball Coach John Wooden, once, wisely noted, “It’s the little details (Saturn) that are vital. Little things make big things (Jupiter) happen.” A sentiment that we may want to keep in the forefront, now.
Whatever house that “zero degrees Sagittarius,” falls in our personal birth chart, is also the specific area of life that is being impacted or energized by this New Moon event. That’s also where we’ll want to move outside our comfort zone.
Question for Today: What would be a huge “leap of faith” for you to believe about yourself, and why?

We are excited about starting something new now with the Moon moving through “pioneering” Aries. Intellectual Mercury’s sextile to “radical, innovative” Uranus is also a boon for shifting our perspective and helping us arrive at new solutions. Too, Mercury is square to “expansive, philosophical” Jupiter, allowing us to take a broader view of things, although we may need to pay close attention to the details or fine print and avoid embellishing the facts.

“Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is simply passing the time. Action with vision is making a positive difference.” Joel Barker
With cerebral Mercury in ostentatious Leo square to long-winded Jupiter in moneybags Taurus, we may be hatching some grandiose, “get rich quick” schemes in our heads today. But how to implement those ideas is where our vision may suddenly get murky. Mercury square Jupiter tends to make us go overboard in our thinking. We exaggerate outcomes. Get sloppy with the facts.
One saving grace for us here: The Moon is deposited in practical, “detail-obsessed” Virgo. She will likely be taking critical aim at many of our hyperbolic meanderings, as soon as they surface.
We also have Mercury in Leo forming a stressful quinqunx to controlling Pluto in executive boardroom Capricorn. This aspect can tempt us to impose our will upon others, without their consent. If we choose to go down this prickly path, we may want to arm ourselves with an exit strategy, in advance. In the event our personal agendas meet with formidable, unfathomable resistance.

Have you ever had any luck with “get-rich-quick schemes?” Or are you too savvy to get involved with them in the first place? Do you think the “road to riches” has to be unduly difficult?

COSMIC WEATHER: January 11th through the 16th
Mental Mercury (communication) and manic Mars (aggressive urge) are hogging most of the astrological press this week. That’s okay. We’ll respectfully give them their fifteen minutes.
Mercury wraps up its stay in visionary Sagittarius, dutifully heading for the ambitious, goat-studded hills of Saturn-ruled Capricorn (January 13th). Our thoughts become more practical, more focused.
Also, self-assertive Mars shifts out of conforming Capricorn for Aquarius’ more non-conforming terrain (January 15th), which is psychedelically-peppered, at this time, with aging hippies, awkwardly still trying to “do their own thing,” despite all the intense years of pot-smoking and skinny-dipping. Uranus-ruled Aquarius, a sign that likes to wickedly “bend the rules,” fully embraces diversity, even the die-hard, hippie kind. It’s probably a good thing, too, that the hippies at least have a place to go to, a sign to “call home.”
With Mars in Aquarius now, too, it’s possible that we could even temporarily befriend one or two of these tie-dyed beings. Maybe help them to find their way, or whatever it is that they still are looking for. Maybe another Woodstock? Could be they are sticking around to see the re-emergence of bell-bottoms as a major, hot fashion trend?
January 11th: Talker Mercury meets up with big hips Jupiter in blabbermouth Sagittarius. The end result: No one gets to have the last word on anything! Steady diet of redundant chatter permeates the air everywhere. Unless we have plenty of time on our hands, it’s best to refrain from asking anyone about their personal religious or political beliefs, or about anything controversial, for that matter, as we will likely be going at each other’s throat until the cows come home. Too, we tend to zealously over-estimate our humble abilities now, i.e. bite off more than we can chew, both literally and symbolically.
Also, we need to carefully, and systematically, scrutinize documents and contracts closely, before putting our ‘John or Mary Doe’ on them. With Mercury-Jupiter, we tend to “gloss over details,” as we’re thinking too much about the “big picture.” Mercury-Jupiter is all too often linked with misunderstandings because we tend to get sloppy or arrogant in our thinking and assume too much.
Moon in pioneering Aries still has us “blazing new trails,” although the opposition to taskmaster Saturn (8:48 pm EST) may temporarily put a roadblock in our path.
Questions to ask ourselves today: Do we tend to talk too much? Often put our foot in our mouth? What shuts us up quickly? What is our favorite topic to talk about?
January 12th: We are much more likely to feel comfortable taking unorthodox approaches with things, especially on the professional front, as we have enterprising Mars in industrious Capricorn sextile to innovative, freedom-seeking Uranus in creative Pisces. Job seekers may want to try new strategies today, particularly utilizing opportunities provided by social networking (Uranus rules the internet).
We all tend to shine more by inserting our clever originality into the picture, instead of mindlessly subscribing to the fuddy duddy status quo. The Universe is beckoning, actually clamoring for us today, to deviate from the norm. To venture outside of our cozy, designer-decorated boxes. Too, if we are up to serious mingling with others, we may get a chance to interface with highly progressive types, who can really move us forward, with their ingenious, if not wacky, off-the-wall ways of thinking.
For those of us who still maintain an active, or even a semi-active sex life (ruled by Mars), that intimate activity could possibly become more exciting now by trying out new, inventive “night moves” in the bedroom. Or, we may want to continue doing the same, sexy little things that we always do under the sheets, but with new lovers. Mars-Uranus likes to experiment, and also endows us with more of a scientific bent. Just pray that white laboratory mice don’t somehow enter into our nighttime equation.
The Moon also vacates accelerator Aries for lusty, self-indulgent Taurus (10:37 pm EST), which also may help our feverish, nocturnal meanderings. Chocolate, too, may be an especially heady aphrodisiac now. (Moon is in Taurus till the 15th.)
Probing questions to consider today: What is sex? Is it something we engaged in at one time with another person? Is there anything we can do now to hasten the return of it to our lives, now that we finally have this good Mars aspect?
January 13th: Our enthusiasm knows no bounds as sexy, go-getter Mars sextiles fortuitous, expansive Jupiter, who is likely toting a large bag of goodies for us. This is a super aspect! Great time to forge ahead with important projects, get things done, especially anything business-related, as Mars is still in ambitious Capricorn, which rules status, career, and reputation. Also a more positive time for dealing with bankers, members of the military, politicians, journalists, writers, publishers, lawyers, teachers, travel agents, clergy, and athletes. Physical fitness and sports-related activities additionally get the green light. We’re loving competition now, as it gives us a golden chance to strut our hot stuff all over the place!
Our thoughts also become more pragmatic and serious today with Mercury’s return to utilitarian Capricorn, where it will stay until February 3rd. We excel now by adopting a communication style that is more purposeful and strategizing. It is also critical now that we let others know exactly what it is that we are hoping to accomplish with respect to our major goals. A time to enlist the support of higher-ups to our causes.
Possible questions to ponder now: What floats our boat? What gets us excited? If we could magically do anything today, what would we do? What are our goals for 2011? What can we do this very day that will help to move us forward, closer to attaining those goals?
January 14th: Moon continues in acquisition-minded Taurus. We may want to focus on ways to build up our nest egg, while simultaneously luxuriating around the house in our silk pajamas. The Taurus Moon is all about creature comforts. Also a good time to work with the earth, or for fashioning things from clay.
Things to think about today: Are we satisfied with our present financial situation? Do we have enough money coming in to meet our needs? Are there any steps that we can take now to make us feel more secure? In our quest for material security, should we try to perhaps get on the Oprah Show, before she goes off the air, in hopes that she will be characteristically playing Santa again in the near future? Maybe we should also go so far as to suggest to Oprah that she make every future Oprah show, this 2011 season, a “favorite things show,” since this is her last go round and lucky Jupiter is still technically aligned with Oprah’s ruling planet, Uranus, which also rules broadcasting (Oprah is an Aquarian). Point out to her that it is “clearly written in the stars” for her to keep playing Santa now, since Jupiter rules Santa Claus, and she is in Uranian-ruled broadcasting. Tell her that this Jupiter-Uranus configuration is the very “believe in miracles” aspect that she is always talking about.
It’s very cool, too, that with the Jupiter-Uranus aspect exact to the minute last week, “St. Nick” Oprah publicly discussed making “Ted Williams,” an ex-radio announcer, the official voice of the OWN network. Got to love Ted’s timing. Uranus rules radio announcers, with the Jupiter-Uranus here, helping to miraculously sweeten their lot in in life. Glad for all the success and love swirling around Ted Williams now.
January 15th: Pioneering Mars takes the plunge and skyrockets into hi-tech, futuristic Aquarius. We are eager to venture off into unchartered waters. Progress is made now by embracing change and collaborating with original thinkers. The Moon also enters curious, airy Gemini, a plus for the more impromptu, convention-defying Mars in cerebral Aquarius.
Questions to entertain today: How are we about embracing change? Do we welcome new strategies, or prefer to stick with the tried-and-true? Is there any one area in our life now that would perhaps benefit by employing new methods? What is the most off-the-wall thing we have done in the past year? Have we even done anything off-the-wall? If not, why not?
January 16th: Moon continues in cheerful, chatterbox Gemini. Conversation, short trips can stimulate. An important bond or tie could also be formed with the Moon’s magical trine to stabilizing Saturn in partnership Libra (3:47 pm EST). A perfect time then to communicate our more serious intentions.
Questions to possibly grapple with today: Is there something, a subject matter, that we have been dying to talk about, for a while now, but have been hesitant to? What has been holding us back from having this conversation? What are some of our favorite words? If we had to describe ourselves in one word, what would that word be?

January 13th: Our enthusiasm knows no bounds as sexy, go-getter Mars sextiles fortuitous, expansive Jupiter, who is likely toting a large bag of goodies for us. This is a super aspect! Great time to forge ahead with important projects, get things done, especially anything business-related, as Mars is still in ambitious Capricorn, which rules status, career, and reputation. January 14th: Moon continues in acquisition-minded Taurus, which governs money, possessions, and what we esteem or value. Our values, too, can often be decoded by what we spend our money on. We may want to focus now on practical ways to build up our precious nest egg, while simultaneously luxuriating around the house in our silk pajamas eating bon-bons. The Venus-ruled Taurus Moon is all about seeking out decadent pleasure, creature comforts, indulging the physical senses, in addition to having to grapple with the often “weightier issue” of procuring material security, a matter which can often feel like having a big “noose around our neck,” especially in today’s challenging economic climate.
Things to think about today:Are we satisfied with our present financial situation? Do we have enough money coming into our household to meet our daily needs, and to also lead the lifestyle that we desire? Too, are we grateful for the things that we already have in our life? Are we managing our resources diligently, or do we squander our money? Are there any steps that we can maybe take now to make our lives more materially-secure?
Also, in our quest for material abundance, should we try, perhaps, to get on the Oprah Show, before she goes off the air, in hopes that she will be characteristically playing Santa again in the near future? Maybe we should also go so far as to suggest to Oprah, maybe through an email to her website, oprah.com, that she make every future Oprah show, this 2011 season, a yuletide-spirited “favorite things show,” since this is, sadly, her last go round (aside, of course, from OWN), and that lucky Jupiter is still technically and philanthropically aligned with Oprah’s ruling planet, Uranus, which also rules broadcasting (Oprah is an Aquarian). Point out to her that it is “clearly written in the stars” for her to keep playing a generous Santa-type role now, since Jupiter rules Santa Claus, and she is in Uranian-ruled broadcasting, and these two planets are together now. Also, make her existentially aware of the fact that this same “Jupiter-Uranus configuration” is the very “believe in miracles” thing that she is always alluding to in her insightful, consciousness-raising dialogue with us. Don’t anyone say, either, that this is “too much of a stretch” here, about the possible Oprah involvement or rescue in our lives. We have all simply got to believe this, in order to achieve it! Jupiter-Uranus in visionary Pisces is about dreaming, and hope for a bright future, especially one with Hugh Jackman in Australia. We can’t help it if lovely, dear Oprah, just happens to be part of the equation. Simultaneously, we are very glad and thankful that she is.
It’s very cool, too, that when the magical Jupiter-Uranus aspect was exact to the minute last week, “St. Nick” Oprah publicly discussed making “Ted Williams,” an ex-radio announcer, the official voice of the OWN network. Not sure if this is going to happen, but we have got to love Ted’s timing! Surfacing when he did, thanks to that fortuitous, caring newspaper guy at the Columbus Dispatch, originally spotting him, and later going to bat for him by posting his encounter with Ted via a Pisces-ruled video on the Uranian-ruled internet. Uranus also rules radio announcers, with the Jupiter-Uranus aspect here, helping to miraculously sweeten their lot. So glad for all the success and love swirling around Ted Williams.
(Since originally writing the above on Monday, Ted has reportedly entered rehab for his alleged addiction problems. Apparently, with prompting from television’s Dr. Phil. Jupiter’s intrinsic nature can be protective, and aligned with Uranus, there can be a sudden “awakening” and swift movement in our affairs. Pisces also governs rehabilitation and rehab centers. Neptune, Pisces’ ruler, is associated with addiction and dependencies. Hopefully, Ted will now be able to acquire the care that his spirit maybe needs, so that he can continue positively on his path. To go from homelessness, to overnight celebrity on a world-stage, I believe, would be very stressful for most of us.
Another thing that I think has been enlightening about this Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Pisces now, on more of a collective basis, is that by hearing about Ted’s story, hearing about his struggles over the years, and his battle with his addictions, we are becoming keenly reminded again about the matter of addictions, a Pisces-related subject. (Too, of course, there has been the ongoing, high-profile story of Lindsey Lohan and her alleged addiction problems.)
So many of us privately suffer from addictions, whether to food, drugs, sex, etc. Also, ironically while writing/updating this right now, I just came across a news story that said that Oprah reportedly told Piers Morgan in an interview that she coped with depression, at one time, by eating “30 pounds of mac n’ cheese!” This overeating or binging by Oprah reportedly was a way of coping for her, in the face of her movie, “The Beloved,” flopping at the box office, sending her into a temporary, downward, emotional spiral. Also kind of weird here: Ted Williams just made those four Kraft Macaroni and Cheese commercials last week, as part of his newly-found fame. Could there be a possible Jupiter-Uranus connection to all this? The plot thickens! Or, would we be more technically correct here by saying, “the cheese melts?” Hopefully, too, Oprah won’t be tempted again to fall off the wagon, with the mac n’ cheese, despite Ted’s inadvertently “rubbing her nose in it” by recording the commercials.
In addition to representing addictions, Pisces also denotes those persons who are disenfranchised or downtrodden. Or maybe confined, hidden away. Or people who are simply “down on their luck,” with their voices suppressed or muted, or problematic, for one reason or another. Perhaps some of these individuals lead more nomadic type lifestyles i.e. are homeless, like Ted Williams. Or, it could be that they are mentally or physically ill. Also, of course, there is the very tragic matter of that shooter in Tucson, allegedly suffering from serious mental illness, who has suddenly come on all our radar screens now in the worst possible way. The “Pisces” experience often symbolizes that part of life that we prefer not to think about, or psychologically visit. As it can show us our limitations, our afflictions. Our pain and desperation.
Pisces, as a level of experience, however, can also nobly point out to us the deep need, both individually and collectively, for having sympathy and extending compassion. Reminding us of the basic fact of life on the earth plane: That, in the end, we are all “our brother’s keeper.” That it is also not always a wise idea to prematurely “assign judgment or blame.” That we are all vulnerable, from time to time, in our lives. That we can also all thrive and benefit sometimes from an angelic, caring, helping hand. Sometimes even a simple smile, or a kind word, can give someone infinite hope and faith and help someone to rise above the ashes.)

January 15th: Energy planet Mars, symbolically depicting the urge for self-assertion, takes the big plunge and officially sky-rockets into hi-tech, futuristic Aquarius, the opinionated, scientific home of wacky astronomers waxing delusional and very bitterly about 13 zodiacal signs. (See link below) Mars will stay in this sign until February 22nd.
With Mars in Aquarius, a sign which represents cultural diversity and “changing things up,” we are eager to venture off into unchartered waters, as long as we are able to cart along, of course, our smartphones and other technological gadgetry. Aquarius rules innovation and invention, especially more of a scientific or technological nature.
Theoretically we “progress” now by embracing or cultivating change, and utilizing new approaches or strategies in our daily endeavors. As part of this orientation we may want to collaborate with more original-type thinkers, or more non-comforming types, to get a fresh take on things. We may want also to expand our networking efforts now and get involved more with group causes, or group ventures (Aquarius rules groups and friends). Mars in Aquarius = energy for groups.
The Moon also enters curious, loquacious Gemini today. In Gemini, the Moon provides us with more of a penchant and willingness for flexibility, as well as more of an ability to go with the flow. We’re not as rigid now, and we’re also wanting to physically move around. We have more of a capacity to see the humor in any situation, too, as this Moon tends to be more light-hearted. Humor is a positive trait that often gets overlooked, but it’s something that can come in handy for coping with the mighty stresses and woes of living in Madonna’s material world, but, unfortunately, without Madonna’s nifty checkbook.
Questions to entertain today:How are we about embracing change? Do we welcome new strategies, or prefer to stick with the tried-and-true? Is there any one area in our life now that could perhaps benefit by employing new methods? If we could change one thing about ourselves, what would it be? What is the most off-the-wall thing we have done in the past year? Have we even done anything off-the-wall, lately? If not, why not? Could it be that we are packaged too tightly, and that we should give ourselves permission to roam around a little, or a lot?

January 16th: Moon continues in cheerful, chatterbox Gemini. We’re more predisposed to reveling over gossip at the water cooler today, in our glorious quest to gather information. No matter whether or not there is a worthwhile component to the info. It’s the gathering process, the collecting of data, which is most important to the Gemini Moon. Reading, conversation, short trips can stimulate now. Great time for any sales or cold-calling activity, or for matters of self-promotion.
Later, an important bond or tie could also be formed with the Moon’s magical trine to stabilizing Saturn in partnership Libra (3:47 pm EST). A perfect time then to communicate our more serious intentions.
Questions to possibly grapple with today:Is there something, a subject matter, that we have been dying to talk about, for a while, but have been hesitant to do so? What has been holding us back from having this conversation? What are some of our favorite words? If we had to describe ourselves in one word, what would that word be? Lovable? Toxic? Brilliant? Sensitive? Diabolical? I think for me, I would have to go with “light-hearted.”

Have a great week! Reach for the stars! Including here, of course, Hollywood stars, like George Clooney. Keep hope alive! 🙂

Gigantic: 1) Very large, huge 2) of, like, or befitting a giant
Cosmic Weather:
Gigantic day unfolding in the cosmos! We have the total lunar eclipse in “talk till you drop” Gemini. Sun is “born again” in the “baptismal waters” of the winter solstice. Also, the Sun enters “achievement-minded” Capricorn. Moon also enters “raid the refrigerator” Cancer (4:22 am EST).
We additionally get to whip out the “biggest words” we know for retro Mercury in Sagittarius’s repeat “meet-up match” with “let’s stretch it to the max” Jupiter. Mercury rules words and aligned with expander Jupiter, they can easily become pompous dinosaurs. Designed to embellish and impress.

Blabbermouth: 1) a person who talks too much, esp. indiscreetly.
“If you don’t want something repeated, better not say it today! That’s because “Communicator” Mercury in “tell-all” Sagittarius is forming an exact square to “Big Blabbermouth” Jupiter in “gullible, believable” Pisces, the natural ruler of Sagittarius. On Mercury-Jupiter days, all of us tend to talk a “little too much.” Some of us more than others. 🙂
Too, we are well-advised to steer clear of “hot button” topics at the dinner table, this Thanksgiving Day, as “blurt-it-out” Mercury in Sag tends towards extremism, and can be very opinionated and self-righteous. Mercury aligned with “let me expound on that point even further” Jupiter, also ensures that all manner of extended mayhem could break out if dinner guests lock horns on such heated issues as, “Did the Tea Party keep Bristol Palin in Dancing With The Stars?” Or, “Should Camilla be queen, if Charles becomes king?“
