The Sun, our fab power source and indicator of our conscious will and ego, departs traditional Capricorn for unorthodox Aquarius (5:19 am), where it will reside until February 18th. The Sun is joining energy dynamo Mars already stationed here.

With both the Sun and Mars in innovative Aquarius, a far-sighted sign whose natives include Thomas Edison and Abraham Lincoln, we are presented with vast opportunity to change things up, incorporate new approaches, don new strategies. All we have to do is have the courage to venture outside of our normal boundaries.

Aquarius also symbolizes immersion into group activities.

Additionally, the nurturing Moon is journeying through colorful, creative Leo today and well-aspected to both love goddess Venus (4:18 pm) and stabilizing Saturn (9:26 pm). Romance and affectionate expression get the green light. Some could even agree to commitment, or at least some kind of positive collaboration (Saturn).

With the fun Leo Moon, too, we will possibly want to be fitting in some entertainment, if not starring in our own dramatic stage productions. The Leo Moon loves to bask in the spotlight! Let the sunshine in!

COSMIC WEATHER:

The Full Moon today (4:22 pm) in maternal Cancer occurs at 29 degrees. Full Moons bring us awareness. They are also a time for release. This one in emotional Cancer can make us aware of how we nurture and take care of ourselves and others. This is a good time to give ourselves extra mothering or pampering, to do something nice for ourselves that will potentiall have the effect of making us feel more secure, more contented. It is also a natural time to ponder our emotional needs, to take the temperature of our feelings.

Also, we may want to be warmly reach out to others now. Or connect with special persons from our past, as Cancer deals with our roots, and purposely reminds us of where we’ve been.

Because the Full Moon in domestic Cancer opposes the Sun in Capricorn, which governs our professional life, we could also gain new insights now on how to best juggle/integrate our home life vs. our professional life. It could be, too, that we can prune away or purge elements from both of these areas to make ourselves feel more empowered.

Today’s Full Moon also harmoniously trines expansive Jupiter and awakening Uranus at the end of inward-seeking Pisces, suggesting a special fortuitous aspect to this lunar event, especially, perhaps, in terms of emotional breakthroughs. Also, with the Capricorn Sun sextile to lucky Jupiter this may be a favorable time to make gains professionally or in business. Jupiter’s benevolent ray tends to positively grow the world around us.
