“Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be truth.” Arthur Conan Doyle Sr.

Man alive…what a frickin’ day to be a fortune-teller!

Mercury square Mars. Jupiter conjunct Uranus.  Saturn quinqunx Neptune.

The Universe is being a big royal pain in the butt putting all this heavy stuff on my humble plate to decipher, after I’ve been vacuuming all day and am plum tired. Plus, I’m almost out of vacuum bags. A terrifying thought.

Why the heck I picked this type of career this time around is beyond me.  All I know is next time I’m coming back as a rich politician with all the perks on Capitol Hill.  I’m sick and tired of working so hard and getting so very little respect.

I can’t even afford a good vacuum to suck up all the filth and dirt around me. Instead I have had to hire a poor Democrat to do that and he’s threatening to go on strike for low wages.

Well, I’m sorry.  But times are tough and people have had to cut way, way back on their fortune-telling expenditures and that’s all I can afford to pay.  Plus I noticed an elephant-size dustball was missed in the corner of the spare bedroom.  Not very thorough. I bet a Republican would have done a much better job and would have been much more accountable.

Also, would you believe my crystal ball has even signed a warrant for my arrest for defaming it the other night for saying the pea soup in it looked like green Kool-Aid?

Well, again, I’m sorry Crystal Ball, but a spade is a spade and I call things as I see them!

Geez.

Crystal Ball, get frickin’ over it!

I also know the Ball is probably just trying to litigate to get money from me, but the gig is not going to work. I’m wise to you, Ball.  I can see through you, except when you’re having sex and you’re all fogged up.  Or, like the other night, when Neptune crossed your path and you turned “liar, liar, pants on fire green.”

What I think I’m also going to do here is re-post the green Crystal Ball photo from the earlier blog in question and let you take a look at it, as evidence to clear me.

Now, doesn’t that look like green Kool-Aid to you?  It doesn’t look like pea soup green, does it?

I rest my case.

The Crystal Ball is nothing but an opportunist and a leech.  Trying to defraud me of my hard-earned money.

Anyway, the gig is over for all of us today, I’m sad to say. This is because another Crystal Ball that I have is revealing to me two detectives hovering over a counter at a doughnut shop in Fargo, North Dakota.  Whenever that Ball shows me this scenario it means we are all close to being busted, especially if  both of the detectives are eating jelly rolls, which in this case, they are.  I worry less when they’re eating chocolate doughnuts.

Plus, as corroborating evidence for this clairvoyant prediction, we have fast-talker Mercury square law enforcement Mars today which always screams “busted” big time!  Too, Mars is in meticulous, highly detailed Virgo, so he probably has photos and fingerprints of all of our indiscretions. Mercury in loudmouth Gemini has also no doubt ratted on us and helped Mars to develop the photos and process the fingerprints. We have to put up with Mercury’s little butt for two more weeks in this tattle-tale sign.

No, expect to pay some measure of bail today to reclaim your freedom after you’re busted.  That will probably end up putting you in a pissy mood for the rest of the day, so watch your temper as well.

On the plus side, we do have lovable Venus in nurturing Cancer wanting to pick up elderly men in retirement centers today by way of Venus’s sextile to Saturn in Virgo.  Again, this sextile influence will only work if there is enough Viagra to go around for all the men in the center.  Saturn is also in that odd quinqunx relationship to Drug-Purveyor Neptune, so I’m not sure the supply will be sufficient.  Venus and Saturn may need to resort to more natural methods, but with Mercury square sexy Mars there could be some problems here and fuses may be too short for total gratification. Again, bigger is always better.

Getting busted. Posting bail. Pissy mood. Also, if you have any free time left, another B-I-G day for breakthrough discoveries, hula hoop type inventions, serious investigations, figuring things out. Try to refrain, however, from launching any full-scale wars.

The matter of the Venus-Saturn quest for geriatric sex.   I imagine there will be some rekindling of the old glory days among the guys.

In the News:

In my blog yesterday, I wrote tongue and cheek about symbolically digging up and uncovering dirt, how that may be appropriate now with inquisitive Mercury in Gemini and energetic Mars in analytical “clean freak” Virgo, both superb placements for fact-finding and analysis. I also mentioned the monumental Jupiter-Uranus conjunction which facilitates sudden realizations.

Did you hear about the Arlington National Cemetery scandals that were reported in the media on Thursday? Over 200 military graves have problems with misidentification or improper record keeping, plus there are other anomalies at the cemetery. Heads have already started to roll there. Unfortunately, I may have been onto something inadvertently about “the dirt” on another level (the graves) and didn’t even know it.

Aries is also the zodiacal sign that rules the military. I think this is yet another manifestation of the Jupiter-Uranus in Aries conjunction which can yield some very wild findings and discoveries, especially with Mars in Virgo in the background doing the thorough investigating. I think probably we have a lot of more of this type of thing ahead of us.  Also there is increasing investigation and scrutiny into the BP oil spill and what really went on there and whether our government may have lied to us.

This Arlington Cemetery scandal also hit with Mercury separating from deception Neptune, often a time when we can hear about weird stuff that may have been a cover-up.  Too, transiting Mercury was applying to an exact square to Mars when this story broke.  Mars  is also connected to war and military issues as the planetary ruler of Aries.  I have observed in my astrological research whenever we have strong Mars aspects, usually the square aspects, we have breaking news stories that are often unprecedented in nature.  Mars rules aggression, too, so often the stories have this element to them in some capacity.

This update: The NYT is reporting that the Pope today begged forgiveness from God and victims of child sexual abuse by priests and vowed that everything would be done in the Church to prevent this situation from ever happening again.  The Pope’s remarks came during a homily in St. Peter’s square to end the Church’s “Year of the Priest” celebrations.  The Pope also said that the Church would enact stronger controls on choosing men who enter the priesthood.

These remarks coming from the Pope are coinciding with the exact square today from Mercury in Gemini to Mars in the “chastity sign” of Virgo the Virgin.  Mars not only rules aggression, as I mentioned earlier, it also rules sex, and Mercury rules younger people, so symbolically, the “square aspect” also captures the abuse.  The priests “are busted,” their activities caught, going along with the “arrest theme” of today’s blog. We are also coming off that exact square from Mercury to Neptune which would symbolize “communication from the Pope” and it can be pertaining to deceptive or hidden cover-up matters (Neptune).

Mercury also rules words and conversation, so we have the airing or communication of this topic in public.  As I also wrote earlier in my blog, Mercury Mars has a way of disclosing “firsts” or unprecedented events, especially now with the backdrop of the Jupiter/Uranus discovery conjunction.

Saturn in “pure, fix the problem Virgo” is also moving into that exact quinqunx or adjustment aspect again with Neptune and Neptune often represents the Pope and spiritual matters and Saturn lays down the law and can be very punishing. This aspect, though, on the positive side, could bring about the changes the Pope is referring to, as the quinqunx here can be powerful. In the meantime, it can also be a very painful time, when our dreams and hopes (Neptune) can temporarily dissolve under the press of reality (Saturn).

I think this Saturn-Neptune influence is also really waking us up now to the fact of the tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico and we’re all very disgusted about it and feeling very disillusioned and very depressed because so little seems to be getting done here in the way of stopping the flow of oil. And, we also don’t know who may be lying to us – but expect full clarification here in the weeks to come with Mars now in investigation Virgo! (Neptune rules the sea and oil, deception; Saturn rules depression, often a fallout from Neptunian-ruled disillusionment.)  This is a hard karma aspect for the planet, but we will get through this.  Jupiter and Uranus portends great things, interventions at some point.  Wonder what kind of miracles and records at the 2010 World Cup?  Aries also rules sports!

Enjoy your Friday! Do some cool communicating with the Gemini Moon, just don’t lose your cool.

Cosmic Word of The Day, June 10, 2010: Dust Mite, Dustmite

“When words are scarce they are seldom spent in vain.” William Shakespeare.

With the entrance of Mercury, ruler of words, into the dual-bodied sign of Gemini the Twins today, and its throwing of literary sextile aspects to voracious Jupiter and innovative Uranus in the new beginnings sign of Aries, I thought it would be timely to roll out a new daily blog entitled, “Cosmic Word of The Day.”

For this very first blog, I have chosen “Dustmite” or “Dust Mite” as the word (or words) of the day, in celebration of Mercury’s ingress into dual-natured Gemini.  In selecting this word, I am also keeping in mind Mars earlier passage this week into neat freak Virgo.

Also, tomorrow the dust will really be flying, as loquacious Mercury and warrior Mars will be squaring off in the heavens.

Perhaps, too, by choosing this word, dustmite, it will instill a fair amount of Saturnian guilt in all of us to do some thorough dusting and cleaning. You know, too, that guilt-monger Saturn is also still in fussy Virgo. (Also, please check out my daily astrology blog horoscope for today, June 10, for more on the infinite joys of vacuuming.)

Merriam-Webster’s Online Search describes dust mite as “any of various mites (especially from family Pyroglyphidae) commonly found in house dust.”

In closing, may this joyful Cosmic Word “dustmite” be with you till tomorrow, when we meet again, at which time I will have a new Cosmic Word ready and waiting for you.

It would be so helpful if someone could invent a delightful “speed dial feature” that I could add to my Crystal Ball that would allow me to expedite my fortune-telling capabilities and thereby free me up for other fun-filled activities such as vacuuming or maybe extensive removal of offensive tea or coffee stains from my soiled laundry.

It is highly embarrassing and bad feng shui energy to have stained laundry in the clothes hamper when you know that, at any minute, it could get discovered by space aliens. I hardly sleep at night anymore, I am so worried about the unsightly stains and my lack of time to remove them and how this dilemma may keep me from voyaging to new galaxies.

Too, all my life I have wanted more time for vacuuming, and I’m talking serious vacuuming here involving the use of several dirt bags. Done properly, and with deliberate, heartfelt effort, vacuuming can be such an intimate and incredibly mind-altering experience, especially when you live alone, and you’re female, and can seductively draw the curtains all the way back to vacuum.

I know, too, that I would rather listen to the sound of a vacuum than even to a symphony by any of the world’s greatest composers. There’s just something about the authentic, suction vacuum sound that is so reassuring and comforting. So primal.

As a woman, too, I know that my loyal vacuum will always be there for me to hold on to, unlike some of the dirt bag men in I’ve known in my life who eagerly sucked out my contents and then suddenly vanished into thin air, not even leaving me a trail of dust to spit on and vacuum up after.

The reason I am opening up and finally sharing with you my private vacuum wish today, something I have wanted to reveal to you for quite a while now, and also assorted details of my previous romantic encounters, and fervid desire for a speed dialer for my Crystal Ball, is because today in the cosmos we are deeply, deeply privileged to have impinging upon our cerebral consciousness the divine movement of “Thought Keeper” Mercury into intellectually-curious Gemini (1:41 am EDT), the communication sign, that it proudly rules.

Mercury here elevates our curiosity, accelerates our thinking, and makes us ravenous for information and conversation.

We also have an opportunity for colossal discoveries and the possibility of new inventions now because this Winged Creature will be aligning today with both expansive Jupiter and genius Uranus via the stimulating sextile aspect, assuming everyone has taken their Viagra, of course.

So, Mercury-Jupiter-Uranus together as one, spells B-I-G Day for the collective for brainy ideas that can change and transform the world. I am very excited about the possibilities of this energy.

By the way, here’s one obscure piece of astrological trivia for you that sort of fits right in here: Triple A Motor Club, the travel-related entity, came into being on a creative Mercury sextile Uranus day. Mercury pertains to both communication and transportation. Uranus, as most of us know, ushers in the new. Triple A was a pretty big deal, and more novel (Uranus) concept for travelers at the time (Mercury) – and it’s still around.

Meanwhile, the Moon changes from placid Taurus to Mercury’s very own restless Gemini sign today (at 6:12 pm EDT).  The evening time may bring an even more accelerated pace to the cosmic energy, but we are also more potentially combative with a square to Mars. Vacuuming is highly advisable as an intelligent way to vent now. Especially for single women who have done their laundry.

“I’m not going to vacuum until Sears makes one you can ride on.” Roseanne Barr

This Update:

Just in to my attention from reporter Mercury in Gemini sextile Jupiter/Uranus in discovery Aries: Oldest example of a leather shoe has been discovered by archaeologists in a cave in Armenia.  It supposedly predates Stonehenge by 400 years and the Pyramids of Giza by 1,000 years. Researches say it was made from a single strip of leather and was made to fit the wearer’s foot. Wonder if it may need a little vacuuming? Can you imagine all the microscopic dirt and dust that must be on it. We will probably need a powerful industrial-size vacuum for this cleaning, don’t you think? Something energetic Mars in cleanaholic Virgo can easily handle.

Ironically, when I woke up this morning, I was thinking how it may just be our very karma and higher destiny now to clean and discover beaucoup amounts of new dirt all around us with this Jupiter/Uranus discovery energy and passionate Mars in pristine Virgo to guide us. I’m sure curious Mercury in Gemini today, too, will be able to scope out all the unlimited filth about each and everyone of us that’s fit to print and put on the internet.   What a mind-boggling day to be a reporter!

Also, on a more serious note, with this powerful energy for cleaning now, maybe some genius will finally be able to figure out how to clean up the tragic mess in and along the Gulf. Mars will be in thorough Virgo until the end of July, perfect for devising new clean up strategies, especially along side Jupiter and Uranus. Lord of Karma Saturn is also in Virgo and quinqunx to poor disillusioned Neptune, ruler of the sea and oil.

Event in history on this date:

John F. Kennedy signs into law “equal pay for equal work” for men and women on June 10, 1963. Pioneering Mars was in Virgo, the sign of work, conjunct Uranus, the freeing planet of equality.  How cool is that?

June 10th birthdays:

John Edwards, Eliot Spitzer (Wow, something in the cosmic drinking water for June 10th?)

Also, adding a new daily feature here.  “The Cosmic Word for the Day.” Today’s Cosmic Word can actually be two words or one word: “Dust mite” or “Dustmite.” With Mercury, ruler of words, entering dual-bodied Gemini today, I thought it would be appropriate to have a word with two spellings.

Enjoy your Thursday! Find a way to unearth your dream and make it fit into your life today alongside that prehistoric shoe.

“Lying is done with words and also with silence.” Adrienne Rich

The Crystal Ball is serving me up lumpy pea soup today and that can only mean one thing: Deceptive Neptune’s in the kitchen again and up to no good in the culinary department!

The spacey guy can never follow a frickin’ recipe! All he ever wants to do is improvise and smoke pot. He can’t even get the pea soup color right. Just look at it in the Crystal Ball! Does that look like pea soup to you? No, it looks like Kool-Aid and who knows what the heck he has spiked it with!

What’s a humble fortune-teller like me suppose to do in the way of concocting an intelligible forecast for the collective looking at that sorry green blob?

And, to make matters worse, vagrant Neptune’s gone ahead and kidnapped Thought-Keeper Mercury in wealthy Taurus, by way of the “square aspect,” and is now demanding ransom so he can allegedly take cooking classes, but we know better.

Horoscope readers: Beware! Beware!

Be on guard today against any, and all manner of, sordid and sundry individuals, who deliberately twist the truth, most likely to gain handsome monetary advantages – and I’m not just talking the usual broke and depressed Pisces relatives here.

Neptunian deception may be lurking all around us, even on seemingly pristine kitchen counter tops and just-flushed toilet bowls, so please, please be careful. Carry lots of anti-bacterial spray cleaner with you, especially good-looking single women on blind dates need to do this now big time.

One more thing. We need to avoid falling prey to our own assortment of goofy ideas today, the delusional ones that don’t make any sense on paper, especially if they involve a forfeiture of any cash on our part. If you must give someone cash today, only pay them with Monopoly money.

Other than the Mercury square Neptune fanfare, which by the way, is sensational for artistic or musical expression, all else is pretty quiet on the cosmic front.

We still have the life-altering Jupiter conjunct Uranus in explosive Aries and Mars in Virgo throwing hand grenades at the twosome, but that’s getting a little boring.

Also, the self-indulgent, always keeping her cool, affable Taurus Moon is expectantly choosing to turn a deaf ear, of course, to any of the more discordant surroundings,  preferring instead to luxuriate peacefully at the spa receiving costly beauty treatments and eating soothing chocolate. She advises all of us to do the same. The way she sees it, the matter of Uranian revolution can wait until after she’s at least had a pedicure.

In the News: US scientists have found further evidence that huge seas existed long ago on Mars. So, cool!  Again, just more proof to the discovery power of the current incredible Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in exploratory Aries. If you go back in history with this aspect, it’s always been big for the discovery front pipeline.

Also, GM announced Tuesday that it is recalling 1.53 million cars and trucks for fire risk. Did I tell you that Jupiter conjunct Uranus in fiery Aries also has major combustible overtones to it, particularly with Mars in Virgo antagonizing that pair now with that weird quinqunx aspect, that no one knows how to pronounce?

Always something new to be concerned about, isn’t there?  That’s life!

June 9th birthdays: Michael J. Fox, Johnny Depp

Enjoy your Wednesday! Remember, don’t fall for get-rich-quick schemes and don’t eat any of Neptune’s cooking. It sucks.

“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” Abdul Kalam

On May 25, 1961, with optimistic Jupiter, the planet of long-distance travel, in futuristic Aquarius, President John F. Kennedy announced before a joint session of Congress his goal of putting a man on the Moon before the end of the decade.

On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and “Buzz” Aldrin landed in the Sea of Tranquility and became the first humans to walk on the Moon. JFK’s dream had finally been realized, but sadly he was not around to witness it.

Up in the sky on July 20, 1969 – as Armstrong and Aldrin were befriending the Moon – cky, expansive Jupiter and innovative, scientific Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) were exactly conjunct (together) at 0 degrees of Libra.

Today, Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct again at 0 degrees of Aries, exactly 180 degrees opposite to that magical 0-degree Libra mark.

In social Libra, Jupiter and Uranus had us personally extending a welcome mat out to the Moon!  Now in self-discovery Aries, where will they be taking us?

Where do you want to go?

“We need men who can dream of things that never were.” John F. Kennedy

“Liberty exists in proportion to wholesome restraint.” Daniel Webster

After eight months in proud, creative Leo, the Energy planet Mars ventures into practical, analytical Virgo (2:11 am EDT) where it will stay until the end of July. Virgo is the sign of work and service, so Mars here can be very productive and very capable in a mentoring capacity.

We should be able to get a lot accomplished in the next several weeks with Mars systematically moving through this fastidious sign.

Also, to find out what area in your life Mars is impacting you, check to see where Virgo is in your horoscope.  The house that holds the sign of Virgo, is where you have the Mars momentum going to bat for you now.

Today, though, the energy around us may feel a little more stifling than supportive to our cause.  This is because it is a transition day with aggressive Mars shifting to more restrained Virgo and then awkwardly aspecting (quinqunxing) indulgent Jupiter and rebel Uranus in spontaneous Aries. Plus we also have the Moon in Aries.

Some of us are not taking too kindly to the idea of restraint now and are fully prepared to wage all manner of dissent against it.  Historically, we often see more demonstrations and revolt with Mars-Uranus aspects. It’s a more volatile energy vibration.

Mars quinqunx Jupiter can also do much to incite our fanaticism and make us go overboard with our beliefs to the degree that we do not tolerate or will not allow others to have their own opinions and convictions.

So, today is a good time to rein ourselves in a bit from our natural instincts. To keep in mind that our liberty is often judiciously preserved as a byproduct of restraint. Our own self-development is also contingent on exercising some degree of self-control and saying no to whatever. In my case, it’s barring myself from inhaling too many Twinkies.

Enjoy your Monday! Hope it’s sunny for your parade.

“The secret to a rich life is to have more beginnings than endings.” David Weinbaum

The cosmic weather changes dramatically today with both the Moon and benefic Jupiter entering the adventurous, fast-paced sign of Aries.  The last time Jupiter was here was 12 years ago.  Jupiter will stay in Aries till early September, at which time it will retrograde back into Pisces. ( Jupiter returns to Aries in January 2011 where it will stay until June 2011.)

What makes expansive Jupiter’s ingress into Aries so powerful now is that it is going to be joining innovative Uranus here on Tuesday (exact 7:25 am EDT 6/8/10), something that hasn’t occurred since 1928.

Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, intrinsically acts to magnify whatever type energy it is configured with. Since Uranian energy manifests in sudden, highly-charged ways, like a bolt of lightning out of the blue, there is a huge potential for exciting breakthrough developments and discoveries in our personal lives and for the collective that can be quite revolutionary in nature, especially since this conjunction is taking place in pioneering Aries, the sign of new beginnings. (This is a longer-term influence that will last for the next couple months, although it will be exact on Tuesday.)

So, we all need to buckle up, as we are going to be in for quite a ride in the coming weeks ahead.

Too, even though the calendar reads June 6th today, don’t let it fool you. The real energy now is more like the Fourth of July!

June 6th Birthdays: Bjorn Borg, Neville Heath

Enjoy your Sunday! May you have a powerful day of discovery.

“Our life is frittered away by detail…simplify, simplify.” Henry David Thoreau

I think that quote is sound advice for us today as the emotional Moon drifts through dreamy Pisces and Mars is still within range of mystical Neptune.  What may work best for us now is to simply let go and relax. We should take time to get re-acquainted with that still small voice inside ourselves. We need to indulge in nothingness and not feel guilty about doing so.

The pace will quicken noticeably on Sunday, so we should relish the down time while we can.

“I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I’m not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.”  Robert McCloskey

I have read that quote above a few times now and each time I do, I get more thoroughly confused as to the meaning of it, which I’m sure is the intent of it, but I would still like to be able to figure it out. Does the quote make sense to you? What do you think it means?  My natal Mercury is also in slower Taurus, so sometimes it takes me a while for things to fully register upstairs.

Actually, very little around us makes much sense today, as we continue struggling with the nebulous Mars opposition to space cadet Neptune. This aspect is exact at 1:53 pm EDT, but will still linger around for a few more days.

Too, even if something does sound plausible to us today, we still may need to be a little skeptical about the voracity of what we are hearing or seeing, as with Neptune, we never really know for sure what’s going on. Plus, Mars-Neptune can bring out the con-men (and the crazies).

Additionally, it could also be that it is not meant for us to know about certain things and that is why some things are blurred now.

Again, like I said yesterday, Mars-Neptune is a super cool influence for any creative type of work such as painting, songwriting, photography, even dancing as a form of self-expression.

Love-making is also another possible activity that gets the green light here (Mars rules sex, Neptune fantasy), but you may want to make sure your love interest isn’t already married to someone else or otherwise committed ((Neptune can bring big-time deception in romance).

It’s also a good time to catch up on Neptunian prayer and meditation activities, so round up the rosary beads. You additionally have the go ahead for channeling spirits. Not the kind in the bottle, that’s a big no-no now with the addictive Mars-Neptune energy, but the kind of spirits from beyond the grave. Make sure, too, that you tell the Universe ahead of time, that you only want fun-loving, friendly spirits to come through and not any stick-in-the-mud spirits with bad breath and B-O.

I must also tell you something really quick. A few days ago when I was writing my blog here and mentioning channeling deceased family members (I think this was when we had transiting Venus in Cancer opposite Pluto) my laptop kept shutting down during that blog. Gave me a mild case of the jitters.

Moving right along.

Chiron also positions Retrograde today in Pisces and will continue that way until November 5th, moving back to 27 degrees of Aquarius. As I mentioned yesterday, the day Chiron, the Wounded Warrior, entered Pisces (sea, oil) is the very day we had the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. It will be interesting to see what happens when Chiron turns direct and re-enters Pisces again, later on, and whether there will be a possible follow-up connection to that event.

Yesterday, there was reportedly some measure of progress with the oil leak situation, but we still have to wait and see the next couple days or so to how this latest development is actually going to end up panning out.  With Mars-Neptune, who knows what may develop.

Other News:

On Thursday at the White House, President Obama awarded former Beatle, Paul McCartney (born 6/18/42) the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The Gershwin award is America’s highest award for popular music. McCartney, who is so deserving of this top honor, has been involved with the writing of more than 200 songs on bestselling music charts.

In Paul’s horoscope right now he has transiting Saturn exactly conjunct his 27 degree Neptune in Virgo on his first house of new beginnings.  Neptune rules music and Saturn (Lord of Karma) represents achievement for hard work.  I think it is so very cool that this Saturn-Neptune influence is playing out this way in his chart, with Paul getting this nifty award from the President of the United States on behalf of all the citizenry.

You know, I perennially pick on Neptune and make fun of its spaciness and vagueness, but when it comes to inspiration and creativity, no other planet tops its potential in these areas, and Paul McCartney is a perfect example of this, with Neptune sitting almost exactly on his 25 degree Virgo Ascendant.

The Ascendant degree is the most sensitive point in the whole horoscope and for him to have Neptune there is very cool, in wake of his musical contributions to the planet. The Ascendant is the window in which we look at the world and in Paul’s window, he always has Neptune reclining there right on the ledge.

I have also waged an offensive against the present transiting Mars-Neptune influence because it can be undermining and disillusioning. But, see how neat it can also be for creative stuff like music? Paul gets awarded this prize.

Very sadly, though, another person also born with Neptune on her Ascendant had a very bad day yesterday.  That’s Capricorn Betty White.  I blogged about her horoscope a few weeks ago here when she was on Saturday Night Live. She is a comedic genius in part due to Neptune in her chart.

Anyway, on Thursday, Rue McClanahan, who played Blanche Devereaux on The Golden Girls alongside Betty White, died from a stroke at age 76.

Would you believe Rue also had Neptune conjunct her Ascendant?  It’s true.  She was another example of someone who was creative and talented beyond belief both as an actress and comedian (Neptune rules acting and theater).  Rue (born 2/21/34) was a Neptune-ruled Pisces with a Virgo rising just like Paul McCartney.  Rue will really, really be missed.  I loved her as Blanche, didn’t you?

May your spirit rest in peace, Rue.

Rue’s death, unfortunately, fits in here, too, with the Mars-Neptune transit, as Mars is in Leo, which rules entertainment figures and the opposition to Neptune can indicate a dissolving of ties.  Rue’s tie was severed to the earth plane.

One other very sad headline I saw in the news Thursday that also had a Mars-Neptune theme: A lion fatally wounded a South African woman working at the Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage in Bulawayo, the sanctuary’s first fatality since opening over three decades ago.

Mars rules the aggressive urge and therefore governs assaults and attacks.  Mars is also now in the sign of Leo which is symbolized by “the lion” in the zodiac.  Neptune, as ruler of Pisces, is associated with animal sanctuaries and wildlife retreats.

I spoke yesterday in my blog about how we needed to be careful with aggression issues because with Mars-Neptune there can be misplaced aggression.  I just wonder what may have happened to trigger this lion attack?  It could be the lion falsely perceived a threat with the weird Mars-Neptune energy.  Such a tragedy.

June 4th Birthdays: Angelina Jolie, Michelle Phillips

Enjoy your Friday! Do some fun, mystical stuff today with the transcendental Mars-Neptune energy.
