“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” Abdul Kalam
On May 25, 1961, with optimistic Jupiter, the planet of long-distance travel, in futuristic Aquarius, President John F. Kennedy announced before a joint session of Congress his goal of putting a man on the Moon before the end of the decade.
On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and “Buzz” Aldrin landed in the Sea of Tranquility and became the first humans to walk on the Moon. JFK’s dream had finally been realized, but sadly he was not around to witness it.
Up in the sky on July 20, 1969, as Armstrong and Aldrin were befriending the Moon, lucky, expansive Jupiter and innovative, scientific Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) were exactly conjunct (together) at 0 degrees of Libra.
Today, Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct again at 0 degrees of Aries, exactly 180 degrees opposite to that magical 0 degree Libra mark.
I’m thinking to myself, the symbolism here is pretty exciting! It’s as if we flipped the same cosmic coin over and fast-forwarded some 41 years.
In social Libra, Jupiter and Uranus had us personally extending a welcome mat out to the Moon! Now in self-discovery Aries, where will they be taking us?
Where do you want to go?
I believe the symbolic message for all of us today, via the Jupiter and Uranus pairing, is to “dream big” and believe that we can achieve whatever we envision. This interpretation has validity, too, because Jupiter rules “big possibilities” and Uranus rules “things to come.”
“We need men who can dream of things that never were.” John F. Kennedy
This update: I woke up this morning and read that there may be some form of life on Saturn’s Moon Titan. How’s that for synchronicity to 41 years ago? Pretty darn cool! As astrologers, we always learn how to “connect the dots!”
