astrology for june 29 2012, horoscope june 29 2012, investigate, Moon in Scorpio, rebellious, Sun square Pluto, Sun square Uranus, transformation

COSMIC WATCH:

“I approached everything, my job, my family, my romances, with intensity.”  – Gene Tierney

The Moon in probing Scorpio may admonish us to dig deeper today. With the illuminating Sun also opposing secretive Pluto, Scorpio’s ruler, we have an even greater likelihood of being able to uncover and solve some of life’s perplexing riddles!

Sun-Pluto is akin to shining a flashlight (Sun) into a cave (Pluto). Things that were hidden are suddenly brought out into the open and their emergence can potentially be very telltale and transforming.

This aspect also carries with it a more intense concentration or focuses of energy which helps to fill us with greater determination and ability to achieve our ends.

The potential downside with it is that it can incline us to want to force matters and when that happens, we can often find ourselves suddenly meeting up with some formidable resistance.

“Force is all-conquering, but its victories are short-lived.” – Abraham Lincoln

Additionally, we have the Sun squaring rebellious Uranus which also may encourage us to defy tradition or challenge authority; part of why we may be doing this, too, is perhaps because we are seeking greater personal freedom. We maybe sense that our socialized conditioning is holding us back from expressing our true nature. At the same time, this influence can also inspire us to be more innovative in our daily approach to our lives as Uranus is the perceived planet of invention and genius.

Overall, today appears to be an excellent day to for brainstorming and for achieving mental breakthroughs, especially since we also have intellectual Mercury in creative Leo forming an exact sextile to expansive Jupiter in curious Gemini.

Too, this Mercury-Jupiter aspect should help to unleash a floodgate of ideas for us. It is excellent for speaking and writing. It may also introduce some much-needed humor or light-hearted spontaneity into our day to subdue more of the Sun-Pluto, Sun-Uranus potential drama. Mercury-Jupiter is also an ideal aspect for allowing us to see the big picture.

“Nobody will ever notice that. Filmmaking is not about the tiny details. It’s about the big picture.” – Ed Wood

“Precision of communication is important, more important than ever, in our era of hair trigger balances, when a false or misunderstood word may create as much disaster as a sudden thoughtless act.”  – James Thurber

With intellectual Mercury quincunx fuzzy Neptune, we are urged to communicate with as much clarity and honesty as possible today to avoid any potential confusion or misunderstandings. It may also be a good day to remember that one of the best ways that we can honor somebody else is to give them our full attention when they speak. Many pitfalls in communication occur because we simply fail to listen intently to each other.

In the News: The FDA has approved the first new weight-loss pill in 13 years. Belviq is made by Arena Pharmaceuticals.

This approval came with Jupiter, in flexible Gemini, exactly square to Neptune in its home sign of Pisces. Jupiter is associated with obesity, while Neptune and Pisces both govern drugs or pharmaceuticals. When planets are in square relationship to each other, the issues of those planets are often activated.

Astrology June 27, 2012: Venus Stations Direct in Gemini

Ann Curry, Ann Curry may leave Today as co-host, astrology for june 27 2012, horoscope june 27 2012, love, Nora Ephron dies of leukemia, pleasure, venus goes direct, venus stations direct in gemini 2012

COSMIC WATCH:

“A loving heart is the truest wisdom.” Charles Dickens

Venus, the planet of love, beauty, pleasure, women’s issues, and money, is finally stationing direct today (11:07 am EDT) after a six week “retro dance” in communication Gemini. When a planet is retrograde, it provides a formal chance for us to review, re-assess, re-configure the various things ruled by that planet. This process is sort of similar to re-arranging furniture in a room. Our perceptions of a particular room are often inevitably altered, too, when we witness the objects in a new spatial relationship to each other. The objects themselves may even seem a bit different to us as we perceive them from new angles.

Sometimes we may also come to the conclusion that some of the things in a room just have to go. Maybe either into another room. Or possibly out the front door to Goodwill. Because it seems no matter how we position them, if they are not in flow with the rest of the environment, keeping them there will only spoil the integrity of the space, while also robbing us of our precious energy.

So with sweet Venus going direct again, it’s a little like “move-in” day regarding the aspects of our lives that tend to bring us pleasure and joy. We are excited and anxious now to get settled into in our “newly re-arranged” quarters. While it may take us a few days to get fully comfortable with the new layout, we are hopeful that our new design will serve us better than the old one. That there will be a fresh momentum now to our affairs. A brand new, dazzling energy swirling about in the ether, hopefully hovering over our romantic and financial matters.

“I no longer believed in the idea of soul mates, or love at first sight. But I was beginning to believe that a very few times in your life, if you were lucky, you might meet someone who was exactly right for you. Not because he was perfect, or because you were, but because your combined flaws were arranged in a way that allowed two separate beings to hinge together.” Lisa Kleypas

What is the hope for your relationships now? Or, for your finances? How confident are you that you will be able to realize these intentions in the days and weeks ahead? What do you think is the master key to your happiness?

Entertainment News: With Venus (women) stationing direct in “communication” Gemini today, numerous media reports are swirling around that Ann Curry may be replaced by Savannah Guthrie as co-host of the Today Show. The Huffington Post reports that Curry may be retained by NBC as a major foreign correspondent. They are also reporting that the announcement of the change-up may be made as early as today by NBC executives. Some other recent reports have said that the “chemistry” between Matt Lauer and Curry just wasn’t right. Ratings were also reportedly down for the program.

Too, it was sadly reported last evening that Nora Ephron, an American filmmaker, director, producer, screenwriter, novelist, playwright, journalist, author and blogger, had passed away from leukemia at age 71. Ephron was a phenomenal humorist (Gemini). She wrote and directed “Julie & Julia” and “Sleepless in Seattle.”

When a planet such as Venus stations in the sky, it appears virtually motionless, from our perspective on Earth. This stationary movement also tends to bring matters associated with that planet into greater prominence for a day or two.

analytical, astrology for june 25 2012, fanaticism, goals, horoscope june 25 2012, idealism, jupiter square neptune, Mercury enters Leo, Moon in Virgo, saturn stations direct

COSMIC WATCH:

“It’s not denial, I’m just selective about the reality I accept.” Bill Watterson

Expansive Jupiter squares imaginative Neptune. While this is thought to bode very well for our creative side, other aspects of our lives could get a little trickier to navigate the next few days, including possibly our fantasies and idealism getting the best of us and potentially leaving us more vulnerable to those whose motives may be less than exemplary.

On the shadow side, Neptune is sometimes perceived as being linked with deception and “get rich quick” schemes.

Thankfully the analytical Virgo Moon is also in force today and can help to introduce a healthy dose of skepticism into the picture.

On another level, we may need to beware that Jupiter-Neptune also has some legacy with religious extremism and fanaticism.

Mental Mercury is also entering theatrical Leo (10:24 pm) perhaps helping to make our communications more colorful and dramatic in the coming weeks. Mercury will stay in Leo until September 1st.

Serious Saturn is also stationing direct in balancing Libra today. In the days and weeks ahead, this may help us to gain solid traction with respect to our goals and relationships, after capping off a period of review and rebuilding the last few months.

“The important thing is to strive towards a goal which is not immediately visible.  That goal is not the concern of the mind, but of the spirit.”  ~ Antoine de Saint-Exupery

How might you feel today if you knew for certain that you were going to reach your goals? Also, at what point, do you think fantasy could possibly become perilous?

daily astrology, Mercury square Saturn, new awarenesses, new moon in gemini june 2012, seriousness, thinking

COSMIC WATCH:

“We are addicted to our thoughts. We cannot change anything if we cannot change our thinking.” – Santosh Kalwar

There’s a second New Moon in cerebral Gemini today at 28 degrees (11:02 am). The first one occurred back on May 20 at one degree of the sign.

With this New Moon occurring near the end of Gemini, it seems that we have a chance for a graduated state of thinking and awareness on certain matters that maybe have been with us for a while. At least since the last New Moon.

There may also be more of an urgency to communicate these potential new insights to others now, as it is Gemini’s intrinsic nature to impart ideas and information.

Too, if we have been experiencing inner turmoil or restlessness with our thinking, today may be a good time for us to hit the re-set button and re-do our mental programming.  Allowing ourselves to gradually return to that natural state of stillness where enlightened new thoughts can once again begin to emerge and guide us to where our True self wants to go.

“I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be.” – Douglas Adams

Mental Mercury, the ruler of this New Moon in Gemini, is also in sensitive Cancer now and applying to an exact square to sobering Saturn, which is exact tomorrow. This planetary alignment also tends to deepen our thinking, while simultaneously reminding us of the seriousness of our path. This configuration additionally challenges us to creatively supplant or replace any of our fear-based thoughts with ideas that are more uplifting and empowering.

“Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim.” – Nora Ephron.

COSMIC WATCH:

“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

We are still likely in the “wanting to conquer the world” mode with the Moon ensconced a second day in pioneering Aries. 🙂 Too, we just may be able to do it! We have the clever Gemini Sun, denoting our executive ability, forming a harmonious trine to solidifying Saturn (8:12 am EDT). A time when we are often able to see tangible evidence of our past efforts finally beginning to emerge. Sun-Saturn is also very supportive for long-term planning.

We may additionally feel a greater sense of duty or responsibility to others now. The nature of Saturn tends to be more serious and paternalistic. This is an excellent day to demonstrate our own personal brand of leadership. Also to seek out advice from those persons we regard as mentors. “The task of leadership is not to put greatness into humanity, but to elicit it, for the greatness is already there.” John Buchan

Looking Back: This same “Sun Trine Saturn” influence last year (June 2) coincided with Mitt Romney, the former Republican governor of Massachusetts, throwing his hat in the ring, a second time, for the U.S. presidency.

Would you describe yourself as more of a leader or a follower? What constitutes a good leader in your mind?

COSMIC WATCH:

“Remember, people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions. You may have a heart of gold…but so does a hard-boiled egg.” Source Unknown

The authoritative Sun, the largest body in our solar system, squares off with forceful Mars today. When these two meet up, we often feel compelled to take assertive action to prove ourselves. The possible challenge for us here is to make sure that by acting in this manner we do not needlessly ruffle too many feathers as this could get us sent to the back of the classroom today! Since Mars also governs our physical energy, we may be able to make headway on our “to-do lists” as we may be feeling more invigorated now.

On another level, Sun-Mars aspects can often be very emotionally galvanizing, poising us to seek out adventurous or trail-blazing experiences.

Also today, mental Mercury is shifting from curious Gemini into sentimental Cancer where it will stay until June 25th. This may find us communicating with more sensitivity, including articulating our feelings more. Our words may also be able to trigger more emotionalism from others. Cancer also rules home and family and Mercury here may be putting more of a focus on these areas for us the next few weeks. “His heart was like a sensitive plant, that opens for a moment in the sunshine, but curls up and shrinks into itself at the slightest touch of the finger, or the lightest breath of the wind.” Anne Bronte

Some Astrological Research about transiting Sun square Mars: The very last time that we had the Sun in communication Gemini, exactly square to Mars in perfecting Virgo (like we have today), was on June 1 of 1980. On that date, The Cable News Network (CNN), was officially launched at 5:00 pm EST in Atlanta, Georgia. Gemini governs news reporting which makes this an especially fascinating bit of astrological info. Mars in industrious Virgo perhaps also helped to take the news to a new level then. Too, again this shows the potential trailblazing aspect of the Sun-Mars aspect.

astrology for June 5 2012, horoscope june 5 2012, Prince Philip of England, Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, Rare Venus transit of the Sun, royalty

“No love, no friendship, can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever.” Francois Mauriac

Cosmic Watch:

The stage is set today for a very rare transit of the Sun by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and festive celebration; the last Venus transit was on June 8, 2004. There will not be another one until 2117. The earliest known observation of this transit was in 1639 by English astronomer Jeremiah Horrocks.

Today’s Venus transit is suppose to last about six hours and visibility will be best from the west coast of the U.S., eastern Asia, and the Pacific regions. You can also go to the NASA website today for a free live webcast of the event.

When sweet Venus is normally conjunct the Sun (our sense of power) it generally has a softening influence on us. There is also more of an inclination for relationship, pleasure, and creative self-expression. It seems that whatever it is that we desire, when we have this aspect in operation, we are able to attract things to us with greater ease. Too, perhaps this could be the case because the Universe intuitively senses our innate fairness, graciousness, and cordiality, so it is more apt to respond, in kind, to accommodate our desires.

“What you seek is seeking you.” Rumi

(Please see yesterday’s post on the “Full Moon  / Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius” for more of my thoughts on this transit.)

Venus is currently moving retrograde through loquacious Gemini. Hopefully, while she is here, we will be able to experience, firsthand, some of Venus’s lighthearted gaiety and love of words and communication that flows ever so effortlessly through the ether whenever she is deposited in this cheery sign. Ideally, this is also a wonderful time to write love poems or love letters.

Venus also likes parties and pageantry. And, right now in England, Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, marking 60 years of her monarchy, is taking place on a grand, lavish scale for all who want to witness it via the television and the internet. Millions of people have reportedly been watching and actively partaking in the festivities in London for the past four days. This is only the second time in a thousand years of the British monarchy that there has been a Diamond Jubilee.

Queen Elizabeth II is also a Venus-ruled figure herself, having her Sun in solid Taurus, along with her Moon in regal Leo, the sign of royalty. The British Royal Family is now also said to be experiencing a resurgence in popularity, stemming no doubt, in part, to Queen Elizabeth’s long-lasting love for and dedication and service to the people of the Commonwealth of Nations; Queen Elizabeth II is the Queen of 16 countries.

There was also a report that the Queen’s husband, Prince Philip, was admitted to the hospital on Monday, with reportedly a bladder infection. Seems very sad that he will not be able to be by his wife’s side to celebrate her special moment.  We wish Prince Philip a Godspeed recovery. He is a Gemini and will be 91 years young on Sunday.

On the eve of Venus’s Transit of the Sun, Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, and several other recording artists performed in concert for the Queen and members of the Royal family, along with 10,000 other people in the audience who were lucky enough to win tickets to the performances. Also, elsewhere, many different cultural and artistic exhibits are being held to coincide with this special celestial happening.

Famous People with Venus Conjunct the Sun: John Travolta, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey

“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” Oprah Winfrey

What are your thoughts about royalty in this day and age? How important is it for you to mark life’s memorable occasions with special planned events, such as parties, luncheons and receptions? What do you think is also the value of holding celebrations?  Who would you love to invite to a party?

Enjoy your Tuesday. Long live the Queen!

“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”  – Marie Curie

A Full Moon / Lunar Eclipse in truth-seeking Sagittarius today (7:12 am) is a chance for us to experience what it is that we “know for sure” about our lives. It is an opportunity to sit with what “rings true for us” in the trusty chambers of our heart.

With “action-oriented” Mars squaring this super-charged lunation we may also feel called upon to put our “truth into motion” now. We may feel compelled to take a bold stand for whatever it is that we believe in. Since Mars is also in “workable, analytical” Virgo, we may be needing to get “very real” with our beliefs and see how they can practically support us in our daily lives. Mars in Virgo is excellent energy for holding us accountable in this regard. It is also helpful in our being able to discern whatever is wobbly or dubious around us.

A possible caution for us here may be to make sure that we do not ride roughshod over others’ beliefs or philosophies now, assuming arrogantly or naively that we have a sole monopoly on the truth. “The more I see, the less I know for sure.” – John Lennon

Too, what we may find, in the coming days ahead, a la the keen, discriminating awareness of the Virgo Mars and also expansive Jupiter, still in “pragmatic, earthy” Taurus (Jupiter rules Sagittarius), is that some of the things we thought for sure would fly, may only still be elusive pipe-dreams, at this point. Indication that we may need to patiently revisit, once more, that glorious, illustrious drawing board to see how we can ingeniously reposition the wings on our ideas, so that they will finally be able to miraculously take flight and serve us heroically along the course of our spirit’s complicated journey through the earth plane. Full Moons allow us to eloquently empty ourselves of whatever is expired, flimsy, or no longer needed by us, for whatever reason.

Mystical Neptune is also stationing retrograde today in contemplative Pisces (5:03 pm), suggesting that we must also be willing to look inside for the answers; be willing to still ourselves long enough so that we may clearly hear the angelic voice of our intuition whispering to us via the gentle ripples dancing across our soulful waters. Our night dreams (which Neptune additionally rules) may also be very revealing for us now and may also help to point us in the direction that we are supposed to be going in now as part of our soul’s unique evolution.

“I find out a lot about myself by sleeping. Dreams, they are who I am when I’m too tired to be me.” Jarod Kintz.

Neptune will remain in retrograde motion until November 10.

Love Goddess Venus is also gearing up for a very rare eclipse of her own tomorrow, as she dares to boldly display her seductive brand of soothing feminine charms and dart across the face of the empowering Sun (our soul’s purpose). Venus perhaps reminding us here to let the connecting power of love, that naturally resides in each of us, to let it bravely flow unencumbered from our hearts now, so that it will joyfully light up all of our countenances, and null and void all of the darkness that potentially threatens to overtake us, if we do not persist in finding a way to come together, despite any or all of our perceived differences.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

We may want to make special note of where (what houses) the 14 degree Sagittarius-Gemini axis falls in our birth charts, as those are the areas of our life that are being activated now and where we may also be experiencing an “awakening of consciousness” and a “call to action.”

A Full Moon Eclipse in Sagittarius also helps to energize activities in these specific areas: publishing; philosophy; writing; higher education; religion; politics; the law; advertising and promotion; long-distance travel; and matters pertaining to other cultures.

Interestingly, with this eclipse today we are hearing details of Oprah Winfrey’s brand new “interactive book club,” which should, no doubt, be very welcome news for the publishing industry and also for fans of Oprah’s who are readers. Today’s eclipse is falling in Oprah’s 12th house of reflection and transcendence, and it is exactly opposite her natal Jupiter in communicator Gemini in her sixth house of work and service. Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius and is also the planet that governs teaching and publishing. Oprah, an Aquarian Sun, also has her lovable Venus exactly conjunct the Sun, like we have now. Her natal Moon is also in Sagittarius and she has a late degree Sagittarius rising. A natural teacher. Oprah has announced that her first book for the new club will be Cheryl Stayed’s Wild. We wish Oprah much luck with this latest endeavor, not that she probably needs it.

Happy Eclipse blessings to you!
