Cosmic Weather:

Well, today’s the BIG DAY: The long-awaited release of the “Cosmic Report” from the galactic bureaucrats at Construction Central. It’s due out shortly before noon (the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn occurring at 11:59 am), which should, hopefully, give us all a pretty good snapshot or assessment of how the many myriad structures that we have dutifully or dubiously erected in our scintillating lives, over the last several years, are presently faring in the ever complex, wobbly scheme of things.

Included in this top-secret report, no doubt will be countless glaring examples cited by stern “Karma Lord” Saturn of how we’ve managed to, or are still managing to “screw things up royally” despite the fact that many of us have never even been formally introduced to Megan Markle or Prince Harry, let alone spoken with either of them!

It’s also probably predictable that much of what comes out today via the “Cosmic Report” will instantly be labeled “fake news” by Pluto, the “truth-detecting” Bureau Chief of the Spy Division of the Universe. You just wait and see!

Seriously, though, let’s keep our fingers crossed that a lot of good evolutionary things will ultimately result from this very rare Saturn-Pluto linkup which hasn’t occurred, in Capricorn, for over 500 years, including hopefully providing us with super great clarity (Pluto) regarding what’s really working for us in our lives and what’s not (Saturn), so we can stop wasting our precious energetic currency going down assorted rabbit holes.

On the plus side, this aspect can also make us very self-disciplined, focused, and driven to achieve our goals.

Additionally, the Saturn and Pluto pairing is excellent for ferreting out corruption or exposing abuses of power, particularly in Capricorn-ruling corporations or government. We may also see some big consolidations of power now as well as several regime changes. So many things major happening, currently, on a geopolitical level.

“Consider the black widow spider. It’s a timid little beastie, useful and, for my taste, the prettiest of the arachnids, with its shiny, patent-leather finish and its red hourglass trademark. But the poor thing has the fatal misfortune of possessing enormously too much power for its size. So everybody kills it on sight.” Robert A. Heinlein

Tarot Card for The Day: The “Fool” Card, which suggests, in many ways, that we’re at the “sheer beginning of everything,” starting a brand new ballgame from scratch. In fact, things are so new now that it’s possible that we may not even be able to register a heartbeat or a pulse with any of it yet. Kind of scary, but sort of exhilarating at the same time! However, we are still advised, “to use caution” now, lest we do something foolish or reckless and invoke the wrath of the gods.

Numerology: Today is a “twelve” day (1-12-2020), which signals both completion and authority.

*All times EST.

Born On This Day: Swami Vivekananda, in 1863, Indian Hindu spiritual leader and a key figure in the introduction of Yoga to the Western world (d. 1902). He once said: “In a day, when you don’t come across any problems – you can be sure that you are traveling in a wrong path”

Hope it’s a good one!

Cosmic Weather:

“Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It’s the transition that’s troublesome.” Isaac Asimov

Today, we may be feeling a bit like we’re entrenched in existential limbo, after yesterday’s Lunar Eclipse in Cancer and before tomorrow’s exact conjunction of Saturn and Pluto. It’s kind of like we’re still journeying our way through the tunnel but we still haven’t stumbled upon our first redemptive glimpse of the light. Although, at the same time, we do know in our rickety bones that we’re definitely inching closer! 🙂

Luna does undergo a dramatic costume change today, shifting from “I just want to be home alone with the Pillsbury Dough Boy” Cancer to “flash dancing” Leo (at 7:16 am). Too, shortly after it ingresses into the lion’s den, the Moon squares erratic, rebellious Uranus (11:43 am), which just stationed direct in “Dow Jones Industrial Average” Taurus yesterday. While this aspect may provide a wonderful chance to publicly display our moodiness or cantankerousness as well as allow us to cheerily toss our Bitcoins into the digital river, it may be best, with several planets still nestled in conservative Capricorn, to try and keep, as best we can, a stiff upper lip and our straitjacket tightly zipped up!

Fortunately, we will also have ample opportunity later, to boldly strut our stuff, when the Leo Moon trines, and wines and dines, courageous Mars presently locked away in ivory-tower Sagittarius (at 4:54 pm).

*All times EST.

Tarot Card For The Day: Once again, it’s the Hermit card, which I also pulled out of the deck, just yesterday. So, it appears, we’re still needing to keep that mighty pipeline open to the “Higher Powers That Be.” In other words, we’re still urged to go deep within, to seriously reflect on matters. Also, in the course of shuffling the cards, both the Death Card and the Nine of Swords fell out of the deck, suggesting yet again, a more serious time of transition. But, still, we should not give up hope for brighter days ahead, even though our present “tunnel-vision” may temporarily be impeding our capacity to see that possible reality.

Numerology: The number “Eleven” (1-11-2020) is equated with Mastery, intuitive powers, and faith.

Born On This Day: Psychologist and American philosopher, William James, in 1842 (d. 1910). James once wrote: “We are like islands in the sea, separate on the surface but connected in the deep.”

Hope it’s a good one!

Cosmic Weather:

“Nurturing a feeling makes it proliferate. Choose wisely. Joy, kindness, love, & caring will illuminate your life.” Amy Leigh Mercree

Today, we have a promising chance of building a better, more soothing relationship with our inner or private world, including home and family areas or with perhaps our tribal community (the Lunar Eclipse occurring in “nesting” Cancer, at 2:21 pm), realms which we may have been neglecting recently to focus more intently on the day-to-day concerns of the outer world or the material perspectives (such as career, reputation, or possibly even the issues of the collective). The Cancerian energy available to us now is much more “connective” in nature, more protective and nourishing for our soul or spirit. Kind of like being wrapped in a nice, warm, comfy blanket.

Also, simultaneous with a Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, which tends to bring matters to a culmination or a conclusion, our emotions and feelings tend to be at more of a fever pitch now, which is something that we may also want to factor into the equation when it comes to possibly spearheading or initiating any kind of new actions that we may feel presently inspired to undertake.

Additionally, we may be forming a much clearer mental picture, at this time (Cancer Moon opposite Sun conjunct Mercury in Capricorn), of what structures or practices that we perhaps need to purge or eliminate from our lives (Cancer Moon opposite the Pluto-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn), as well as what new structures, habits, or safeguards, may need to be added or positively resurrected, in order to make them richer, healthier, or more fuller in the future. This changeover or renaissance could even extend to dietary concerns or the type of food that we eat since Cancer governs food, nurturing or sustenance.

The Sun-Mercury conjunction occurring today can create not only some brilliant or illuminating cognitive insights for us all, but it can also put a real focus now on the communications sphere, as a whole, making us much more inclined to want to articulate or write about or share the new perceptions or ideas that are suddenly filtering into our conscious awareness. It’s also possible now that we will receive some news or information that potentially has a dramatic impact on our lives. Too, with the more sensitive Cancer Moon opposing the Sun-Mercury conjunction, we may feel more of a vacillation, or more of a back and forth internally, between our emotions and our reasoning.

Wild card Uranus, symbolizing radical change, individuality, and breakthrough thinking, which is also thought of us as the higher octave of cerebral Mercury, is also stationing direct today at 2 degrees of financially-minded Taurus. That shift in direction can also potentially produce some important new insights, downloads, or developments, especially perhaps pertaining to monetary matters or the management of our material resources or possibly with respect to making us more aware of what it is that we truly value or want to attract our way in the future. This Uranus station may also possibly mark a key turning point in which we are able to more freely express our individuality or unique life purpose in a more public or forthcoming manner, in the days and weeks ahead.

“The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.” Jim Morrison

*All times EST.

Tarot Card for the Day: The Hermit Card, which is a very inwardly reflective card that can endow us with a more palpable sense of being part of a greater whole. This card also ties in nicely with the Cancer Full Moon today which is also forming a flowing trine to inspirational Neptune, which symbolizes, among other things, a feeling of inner divinity or connection with Source Energy or the Universe, whatever you want to call it.

Numerologically: Today (1/10/2020) is a “one” day which is associated with fresh, new beginnings as well as being full of potential for assuming more of a leadership stance and building in or displaying self-confidence.

Happy Lunar Eclipse blessings to you!

Cosmic Weather:

“Learning to distance yourself from all the negativity is one of the greatest lessons to achieve inner peace.” Roy T. Bennet

It may be easier for us to connect more naturally or effortlessly with our intuition or our sense of “inner knowingness” today. We are also possibly more receptive or willing to resolving difficulties by employing more peaceful or unifying methods, perhaps partially out of an inherent desire to want to see things in the best possible light. This is also an excellent day for engaging in creative tasks or for using our imagination. (Mercury in Capricorn sextiles Neptune in Pisces.)

Additionally, there may be a desire to want to release or let go of old beliefs, philosophies, or practices that are no longer serving us. We may also gain greater clarity or illumination now on why things may have had to be a certain way in the past. (Jupiter in Capricorn conjuncts the South Node in Capricorn.)

*All times EST

Tarot Card for the Day: Is “The Moon” card, which suggests that hidden or subconscious motivations may be brought to the forefront now. It may also potentially be more challenging for us to see where dreams or fantasies end and where reality begins, especially in situations in which our emotions are more fully or actively engaged.

Numerology: Today (January 8) is an “eight” day denoting a great deal of intense or concentrated energy. Often there are lessons pertaining to the usage of power with this number.

Born on This Day: Singer and entertainer Elvis Presley, who would have been 85 years old today. Elvis once said: Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine.

Cosmic Weather:

“The best kind of happiness is a habit you’re passionate about.” Shannon Adler

This is an excellent day for engaging in or building upon those reliable daily practices, habits, or rituals that are positively sustaining for us or help us to feel grounded or rooted like a solid old oak tree. (Moon in Taurus trines Jupiter, Mercury, and the Sun in Capricorn and sextiles Neptune in Pisces.)

There’s also a potential for assuaging wounds or generating healing by seeking out fresh pathways that lead to greater understanding, particularly on a philosophical level. (Mars in Sagittarius trine Chiron in Aries.)

Tarot Card For The Day: The Knight of Pentacles suggests a “reigning-in” or “conserving” of our energy and resources today, even though the sheer presence of the Knight also indicates that we do, indeed, have the ability to hold our own or defend our interests if need be.

Numerologically: January fifth is a “5” day denoting flexibility and or resiliency.

Born On This Day: Indian spiritual teacher and writer Paramahansa Yogananda. He once wrote: Let my soul smile through my heart and my heart smile through my eyes, that I may scatter rich smiles in sad hearts.

beliefs, daily astrology, Mars enters Sagittarius, Moon in Aries, numerology, Tarot

Cosmic Weather:

There’s a feeling of a “jam-packed” day unfolding with the Moon still racing through assertive, restless Aries, the Mars-ruled sign that poises us to want to take swift, direct action on matters, especially with respect to acting on what appear to be our own perceived self interests. Luna is also bumping up against (squaring) the Saturn and Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, later in the day, so it seems we’re also possibly needing to manage some pushback or resistance to our efforts or ambitions as we go about testing the limits of what is possible for us to do now, in the present moment.

Animating Mars is also entering “don’t fence me in” Sagittarius today (4:37 am), an energetic placement that can more naturally incline us to want to more voraciously seek out and experience as much of the world as possible now (despite the present stellium in cautious Capricorn). This placement of Mars can also put more of a spotlight on our personal beliefs and convictions and on such things as religion, politics, the law, and higher education.

On the shadow side, Mars in Sagittarius is sometimes linked with fanaticism or overzealous behavior so we may want to remain mindful of that tendency and be willing to gracefully step away from behind the bully-pulpit when we perhaps sense that we’re coming on too strong with our legion of homespun theories, etc. Mars will remain in philosophically-minded Sagittarius until February 16th.

Some famous people born with Mars in Sagittarius: Jules Verne, George Carlin, Benny Hill, Margot Kidder, Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez, Oscar Wilde.

Tarot Card for Today: The “Ten of Wands,” which suggests that we’re possibly meeting up with the culmination (ten) of many of our actions (Wands) now, in some regard, and, as a result, we may naturally be feeling a bit overwhelmed with how to deal with matters. Accordingly, keeping our index finger close to the “pause button” today might be a nifty, rejuvenating strategy as, in reality, there’s only so much that we can masterfully and adroitly process in a finite span of time and still be fun and sexy to be around. 🙂

Numerology: Today (January 3rd) is a “3” day, a number that is equated with being responsible and fairly dedicated or committed to any actions taken. Too, if you add up all the numbers of the day (1-3-2020) you end up with the number “8” which is a more intense number associated with being take-charge and or feeling comfortable wielding power.

abundance, big ideas, daily astrology, Mercury conjunct Jupiter, Moon in Aries, new beginnings, Tarot

Cosmic Weather:

Unlike yesterday, the first day of the new year, when the Moon was still nestled in reflective Pisces (for most of the day), we’re finally presumably ready now to pivot full-speed ahead into 2020 with the waxing Moon deposited in “start-me-up” Aries, all day, the very first sign of the zodiac and a Moon sign that is notorious for acting with a heightened sense of urgency. The Moon in Mars-ruled Aries characteristically tends to animate and quicken our emotional expression.

Luna will also be reaching her First Quarter Phase, late tonight (11:45 pm), which can also motivate us to get going on the intentions that we may have nobly set during the Solar Eclipse in Capricorn, last week. Often, too, during a First Quarter Moon, we’re naturally feeling a bit of inner angst as we see some of the puzzle pieces (our intentions) start to fall into place, but we’re still not quite sure what the end result might be. Kind of like we’re peeking into the oven window now, checking to see whether or not the cake is rising, all the time wondering: Did we add enough flour? Put in enough eggs? Did we even remember to turn on the frickin’ oven before we plopped it in? 🙂

With the instinctual Moon in pioneering Aries also squaring the power-brokering Sun in more traditionally-minded Capricorn we’re also possibly weighing whether or not we should just play it safe and toe-the-company-line now or whether we may need, instead, to bust out and play by our own impressive rule book, which we’re likely making up moment-by-manic moment.

Fortunately, intellectual Mercury is also conjunct expansive Jupiter in earthy Capricorn today (11:42 am), which should help to supply all of us with a bevy of big, yet solid ideas on what to do next with regard to our fabulous, exciting lives in this brand spanking new decade. Optimistic Jupiter is the planet of vision and while he, yes, does love to bloviate, and can exaggerate, he can also help us to see the bigger picture as well as inspire us to go for it. Too, Saturn-ruled Capricorn energy is very structuring, very foundational, very purposeful in nature so, actually, this Mercury-Jupiter conjunction in Capricorn is perfect for us now, at the start of the year, because we’re less inclined to be fooling or deluding ourselves with, essentially, pie-in-the-sky ideas. Rather, we’re potentially channeling really powerful, usable “heady stuff” from the muses now that can duly advance us along on our own special life path, with an added Jupiterian spring in our step, thrown in for good measure.

In general, Mercury conjunct Jupiter is excellent for such things as publishing, writing, promotions, conducting interviews, crafting or giving speeches, business planning, announcing business mergers, enrolling in new classes, and putting on or developing motivational seminars. It’s also often an aspect when we may hear “good news,” or we’re at least able to put a positive spin on whatever may come down the pike.

Too, since it’s the start of a new decade, I thought I would also put an extra “Mercury-Jupiter” flourish on this, my very first blog of the year. I have intuitively drawn a Tarot Card for “the energy of the day” and it is the Ten of Pentacles, which I’m ecstatic about because it’s not only one of my favorite cards, but it’s also normally regarded as a celebratory card, as well as card of success and abundance, suggesting, among other things, that we’re more able to enjoy or fully partake in the realm of earthly pleasures (Pentacles) now while also being able to more fully express or showcase who we really are (the culmination of the number ten). It’s like we’ve done the work, paid the dues, and now we’re ready for the bestowing upon us of our perceived just rewards.

Anyway, Happy New Year! I hope it’s a good one for you!

*All times EST.

daily astrology, luck, merit, numerology, prosperity, Sun conjunct Jupiter

Cosmic Weather:

The commanding Sun is having its annual meetup (conjunction) with optimistic Jupiter today (1:25 pm), occurring in the industrious sign of Capricorn, this year. This alignment between the two largest bodies of our solar system is usually a time when we naturally expect “big things” to happen, in part, because Jupiter, the planet of growth or expansion, is also linked with luck, prosperity, and generosity. Archetypally, it’s often billed as the “Cosmic Santa.”

Of course, with this year’s conjunction taking place in the more cautious, Saturn-ruled domain of Capricorn, it would appear that if there is some kind of big burgeoning or flourishing now, that it would likely be more contained or discreet, in some respects. Or, perhaps more likely based upon our individual level of worthiness or merit as viewed from a more achievement-oriented (or Capricornian) lense, such as, how good are we at carrying out our duties or responsibilities? At being self-disciplined? Being conscientious? And so forth.

In other words, while it’s very possible that we may receive a reward or notable distinction of some kind now with this Sun-Jupiter conjunction, it will probably be in exchange for something that we have already earned. Kind of like when we were in school, we might have made it to the Dean’s List, if we maintained a certain grade point average.

That said, if you still intuitively feel in your bones that you do really need to buy a lottery ticket for tonight, go right ahead! 🙂

Additionally, and perhaps more proactively, this Sun-Jupiter conjunction is also excellent for immersing ourselves in outlets that make us feel like we’re growing or expanding our world in some way, be it personally or professionally. For instance, it might be a good day to do some sightseeing or to read about other cultures. Or to maybe discuss philosophy with a friend. Or it could be that we opt to meet with a recruiter to see how we might be able to kick our career into high gear in 2020. This would also probably be a great day to put together a vision board, for next year, detailing what we would like to see happening in our lives, in the coming months.

“It takes someone with a vision of the possibilities to attain new levels of experience. Someone with the courage to live his dreams.” Les Brown

Numerologically, with it being a “nine” day (the 27th), there’s both a philosophical and philanthropic vibe to the day, which also fits right in with the overall nature of the Sun-Jupiter conjunction. There may also be more longing now to depart from convention and “go our own way.”

*All times EST.

Born On This Day: German astronomer Johannes Kepler, in 1571, who discovered the laws of planetary motion.

Johannes Kepler once wrote: I demonstrate by means of philosophy that the earth is round, and is inhabited on all sides; that it is insignificantly small, and is borne through the stars.

Hope it’s a good one!

change, daily astrology, habits, moon conjunct jupiter, numerology, optimism, self-mastery, Solar Eclipse in Capricorn 2019

Cosmic Weather:

Today’s Solar Eclipse in “mature, parental” Capricorn, at 4 degrees of the sign (12:13 am), potentially provides us with a realistic snapshot or assessment of our wondrous, enviable lives as well as hopefully supplying us with some practical, hands-on Saturnian wisdom on how to best nudge ourselves forward, in 2020, so we can make it to the top of that glorious, ever-beckoning mountaintop. Capricorn is a very outwardly ambitious sign keenly interested in leaving its industrious mark upon the world.

This is an excellent lunation period for our annual goal-setting, taking inventory of our strengths and weaknesses, eyeing our responsibilities or duties, evaluating and or restructuring our commitments, including deciding what it is that we may need to phase out now in order to forge ahead in the exciting new decade that is, already, less than a week away.

What’s also great about today’s Solar Eclipse (which basically acts as an “amped-up” New Moon) is that it’s conjunct propitious Jupiter, the planet of growth and opportunity. It’s also forming a flowing trine to non-conforming Uranus RX, which symbolizes innovation and change, and is deposited in materially-minded Taurus. These two harmonizing aspects will ideally help us to feel more optimistic or enthused about our future (including our careers and finances) and also possibly more willing to make any necessary creative alterations so that we can re-structure our playing field in such a way that our individuality and authenticity shine through in a manner that feels very liberating to us. If we’ve been feeling stifled or stuck, this lunation will hopefully help us to turn a new, progressive corner. New Moons are linked, as well, with embarking upon new beginnings.

This is also a perfect period for instituting positive daily practices or habits that can, over the long-term, allow us to become more self-actualized, or more complete versions of our best selves. With the more serious “nose to the grindstone” Capricorn energy, we’re naturally focused now on doing the requisite inner and outer work that’s needed in achieving self-mastery, which is really, of course, part of a lifelong process that we gradually attain in stages, although since eclipses can sometimes “speed things up,” it’s very possible that we’re also able to make a giant leap forward now, at least in terms of expanding our consciousness, where it basically all begins, anyway.

“Let him who would move the world first move himself.” Socrates

Generally, eclipses and eclipse points are also felt or remain charged for up to six months. Since July of 2018, we’ve been experiencing eclipses along the Cancer-Capricorn axis, with a Lunar Eclipse in familial Cancer, slated for January 10th, which is two days before the exact conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn.

Some questions that we may also want to ask ourselves now with this Solar Eclipse in Capricorn: How might I be able to conserve more of my time, energy, and resources and yet still get ahead? What one thing could I achieve, in the outer world, that would greatly add to my sense of personal fulfillment? How might I view my perceived personal restrictions or limitations as gifts or opportunities? If I could wave a magic wand and eliminate my fears, how would my present life be different?

Numerologically, there’s also a lot of intensity to the day with it being an “8” day (the 26th). Often on “8” days, we’re more inclined to face down our fears, particularly if they’re getting in the way of what we’re wanting to achieve. There can also be more of an inner desire now for wielding our power or influence. I also like that the Solar Eclipse is occurring at “4” degrees of Capricorn, which is a strong, solid foundational number, really helping us to get rooted for “2020,” which is also a “4” year.

*All times EST.

Cosmic Weather:

Venus, the planet of love, beauty, values, and money, flits into “counterculture” Aquarius today (1:41 am), where she will hang out until January 13th.

In Aquarius, Venus can be very friendly but detached.

Granting ourselves the personal freedom to show up in our relationships exactly as we are – instead of how we perceive others want us to be – also becomes more of a core value or aspiration for us now.

“When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everyone will respect you.” Lao-Tzu

Additionally, Venus in “equality-minded” Aquarius can find us more naturally gravitating towards involvement in social or humanitarian-type causes.

We may also be more interested in things or purchases that could be described as “cutting-edge,” including perhaps craving the latest in technology or gadgetry. Digital currency may also pique our interest.

Some celebrities with Venus in Aquarius: Mary Chapin Carpenter, Carmen Miranda, Taylor Swift, Chris Rock, Nick Nolte, Liam Hemsworth

*All times EST.

Born On This Day: Psychic and Spoon Bender, Uri Geller, who is turning 71 today.

Hope it’s a good one!
