COSMIC WATCH:

Romantic and business relationships have a chance to solidify today and we may also feel that our hopes and wishes are finally achievable as love goddess, Venus, forms a flowing, creative trine with stabilizing Saturn and also a conjunction with dreamy, idealistic Neptune. Intellectual Mercury is also making its annual conjunction with probing Pluto helping to intensify and focus our thinking. The Mercury-Pluto aspect additionally gives us a chance to don our detective hat and possibly solve or put to rest some long-standing riddles. With the Moon still hanging out in “Hollywood Leo” we are naturally drawn to the spotlight. Although we may find that our star shines even brighter when we also allow others the same chance to grab some of the glory. This may be especially applicable when the authoritative Leo Moon aligns with controlling Pluto (3:59 pm EST), a time when a more cooperative, integrative approach is likely a savvy strategy to placate all egos and preserve the peace at the same time. Sometimes, on the shadow side with Moon-Pluto, we are inclined to want to call all the shots, which can, of course, give rise to some ill will and misunderstandings among our comrades, if we act in ways that are too forceful or rigid.

COSMIC WATCH:

The Full Moon in “nesting” Cancer today may create greater awareness of the need or desire to balance the home and family arena with work and duties symbolized by the opposing Capricorn Sun. A harmonious sextile to the lunation from assertive Mars in organizing, correcting Virgo is also possibly a cue for us to become more productive and efficient. This is excellent energy for self-assessment and scrutinizing (Virgo) what we may need to add or eliminate in our lives in order to make more headway toward our goals.

Too, with the Full Moon in domestic Cancer we may find that by doing some de-cluttering in our home environment now, especially removing objects that we do not like, or deem to be beautiful, can also help to free us from the erroneous notion that we are stuck or powerless to alter our life circumstances in general. Also, by taking this action we effectively send a message to our subconscious and the Universe that we are capable of adeptly managing our affairs and can be trusted to do the same in the future, thereby opening the door for more abundance and prosperity to flow into our lives.

COSMIC WATCH:

Intellectual Mercury’s shift into “cautious” Capricorn tends to make us more pragmatic and utilitarian with our thoughts and ideas, although today may not be the typical poster child for Mercury here in this earth sign as the Winged Messenger forms a trine to “big picture” Jupiter and also a square to “out of the box” Uranus. While we do, overall, want our mental musings to move us forward in a practical, linear manner now, we are also likely waxing very philosophical (Jupiter) today and able to incorporate or at least tolerate more radical or untested elements (Uranus) into our mindset.  Accordingly, this is an excellent day to entertain opposing viewpoints, embrace new methods, and explore new options for ourselves. Too, this does not mean that we have to necessarily immediately act upon whatever is revealed to us today. It may really be more of a matter of stretching ourselves and growing cerebrally. Too, Mercury-Uranus tends to be an aspect that quickens or speeds up our mental processes. On the shadow side, it can make us a bit more mentally restless or unstable.

Additionally, the nurturing Cancer Moon is advocating that, along our journey today, we also remember to take time to lovingly administer some self-care to ourselves and also do what we can to fortify our base of operations and familial roots and ties. The emotional Cancer Moon will be reaching its “full phase” early tomorrow morning, meaning that there is more of a crescendoing of sensitivities now.

Today’s Affirmation:  I am fluid and open to what the world has to offer me today. I also know that it is okay if I do not know all the answers. The more important thing may be to simply ask the questions, to perhaps challenge the status quo.

One more thing. Being a big Elvis fan, I would be remiss if I did not mention that “the king” would have been 77 years old today. Astrologically, Elvis, a Capricorn Sun native, had a fascinating horoscope with a grand cardinal cross which often is symbolic of someone who comes along and galvanizes the world in some notable way. Elvis also had the rebel planet, Uranus, exactly conjunct his fifth house of self-expression and talent. Uranus was also in pioneering Aries in his chart, just like it is today. Uranus governs the expression of genius and originality.

With the “communicative” Gemini Moon “out of step” with Saturn, Jupiter, the Sun, and Mars, we may want to do more listening than talking today as a conscious way to prevent or circumvent any possible rough patches in our relations. We may also want to strive for more clarity in our conversations making sure that we are correctly hearing what others are saying to us. So many times our “people problems” stem from not really listening to each other intently, or from making erroneous assumptions about what was said. This may be especially the case with a “challenged” Gemini Moon which can incline us to be more reactive than reflective, and also perhaps not as mentally focused as we could be.
