COSMIC WEATHER:
In wake of Monday’s New Moon in “experimental” Aquarius, today is an excellent time to kind of take a “test run” of things with the Aquarian Sun forming an exact sextile to Uranus, the modern-day ruler of Aquarius. This vibrant and quickening influence potentially poises us to be more flexible or open-minded in situations, as well as inspires us to embrace the changes that we know are needed in our lives in order to hopefully have them flow more effortlessly and authentically from our true center. Albert Einstein once quipped that the measure of intelligence “is the ability to change.”
With that said, it might be a great day to hang out with people or types we normally would not associate with to broaden our outlook, especially since we also have relationship Venus squaring Uranus today as well, an aspect which can coincide with a desire for more freedom or newness in our connections. Sun-Uranus also favors involvement in group activities or humanitarian causes.
Mercury trine Jupiter additionally helps us to look at the big picture, today. It may also be important for us now to discuss topics that are more meaningful to us, or that reflect our core beliefs and values. Mercury-Jupiter is also associated with public speaking and publishing.
The “utilitarian” and waning Capricorn Moon is also very busy, today, forming six aspects, all this morning, before going void of course at 10:54 am. It will enter Aquarius at 12:59 am, Sunday morning, and will no longer be void.

The practical Taurus Moon trines energizing Mars in perfecting Virgo this morning (11:39 am EST), providing us with plenty of momentum and drive to achieve our worldly ambitions. Ideally, with Moon trine Mars, our emotional nature is harmoniously aligned with our physical side. Our passion for life is well-directed.
We also have lovable Venus in friendly Aquarius forming a quintile with abundant Jupiter in Taurus. This supportive aspect should help us out nicely in the relationship department. It is an influence that optimally fosters generosity and kindness. Perhaps we might want to get involved with humanitarian projects today. Or, donate our time or resources to special causes that we believe in.

“We have it in our power to begin the world over again.” Thomas Paine
Most of us may already know the standard “New Moon” drill: New Moons signify “new beginnings.” A New Moon occurs when the Moon, in its monthly orbit around Earth, lies between the Earth and Sun, and is therefore “in conjunction” with the Sun as viewed from Earth.
The New Moon on February 2nd at 13 degrees of “liberating” Aquarius (9:31 pm EST) is more powerful than the norm because it conjoins “initiator” Mars, ruler of the aggressive urge. This could propel us into more of a “manic” phase, or launch at warp speed. A “do, do, do” mode. Mars represents the physical energy in the body. A caution here is that we don’t overtax or overburden our systems, or lose our tempers. Anger management may be very wise now for all of us. Remember, too, that expansive Jupiter is in Mars-ruled Aries which can also raise up our activity level, as we scurry about conquering new horizons. Aries is very pioneering and does not want to be restrained. Neither does this New Moon in Aquarius.
Also we may be tempted to take a walk on the “wild side” now because beatnik Aquarius can be somewhat of a rules-breaker, and is prone to experimentation. Additionally, during this lunation, “love child” Venus in “spontaneous” Sagittarius is forming an exact square to electrifying Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, in “spaced out” Pisces. With Venus-Uranus, we are looking for more “freedom of expression” in our intimate encounters and also in our social life. A good time to maybe radically spice things up in the bedroom. We are also able to accept or tolerate, or may even become entwined with people who are vastly different than ourselves. This, too, is partly because we are much more bored with the tried-and-true, and restless for excitement.
Also, connector Venus is simultaneously trine to fantasy Neptune, giving us no shortage of phantom lovers to help us make it through the New Moon night. Whether that perfect specimen of a man, George Clooney, will be among this fanciful procession, remains to be seen. We can only hope and fervently pray that this is the case. 🙂 Neptune represents creative types of people: dancers, writers, actors, singers, painters, etc. So Venusian alliances could pop up with these types of folks.
The New Moon in Aquarius also forms a harmonious trine to ambitious Saturn in “Beatles hold my hand” Libra. Not only are we pumped up to begin our lives anew, to take charge and make our defining mark (Mars), we also have the blessing of paternalistic Saturn, who is helping us to adroitly organize our affairs with precision and self-discipline so we can mightily ascend that exciting ladder of success. This trine to Saturn is big. Very big. No reason now why we can’t score that little house on the prairie with the white picket fence.
Too, even though a New Moon conjunct Mars can be fully self-absorbed, the trine to Saturn in relationship-building Libra suggests that we progress the most now by including others somehow into the cryptic equation. Busy little love goddess Venus is also pointing to the same thing. This is not a time for us to be an island. We want our personal freedom, yes, but we also are more inclined to be around other people now. With perhaps a marked preference for “new” other people who are unusual types. Also, Aquarius rules team orientation. This could be a key time to assume a leadership role in a group setting. Additionally, a wonderful time to immerse ourselves in positive, humanitarian causes for the collective. Our efforts can make a difference now!
“Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” Vince Lombardi.
“What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.” T.S. Eliot

“You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.”Albert Einstein
The Universe must have great confidence in our multi-tasking abilities. Unless, it’s deliberately being sadistic with us! What I am alluding to here is the fact that we have several potent aspects stacked up on our plates today to existentially grapple with. Of course, the real biggie is the New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse at 13 degrees 39 minutes of Capricorn, the first lunation of the new year. We have six eclipses on tap for this year: four partial solar and two total lunar. We haven’t had this many partial solar eclipses in one year since 1982, the same year that Michael Jackson released “Thriller,” the biggest selling album of all time. Also, that was the year that the Vietnam Memorial was formally dedicated in Washington D.C., occurring only a few days before MJ’s “Thriller” release in late November 1982.
Ironically, the original chairman of the Vietnam Memorial project, John Wheeler, was found murdered this past New Year’s eve. His body was tragically found in a landfill in Delaware. Also, today, it’s kind of weird, but Dr. Conrad Murray begins to testify in a pre-trial hearing in a court in LA with respect to MJ’s death. Of course, neither of these events have anything to do with the eclipse today. Just two interesting parallels that I thought I’d point out, since I happened to stumble upon them by accident, when I was reviewing events in 1982 in Wikipedia for this blog today.
Solar and lunar eclipses are special new and full moons. They often usher in notable events, for both individuals and the collective. Eclipses often “speed things up.” They can suddenly open up new doors for us. Monthly new moons traditionally denote new opportunities, with the eclipse being somewhat the equivalent of a new moon on steroids. The impact of an eclipse can last up to six months. Too, sometimes the affects of an eclipse are not felt immediately.
The few days right before the eclipse are especially highly-charged, and it is on those days when we really want to think about, and formulate, our new moon intentions, and make time for serious prayer and meditation. Especially advisable for single women now: Profoundly meditating on the sacred image of George Clooney. This is largely because George also has his natal Moon in Capricorn, closely conjunct cautious Saturn. Just thought I’d throw that in here. So George doesn’t think we’re completely abandoning him, caught up in all the momentary hoopla of the red hot eclipse. 🙂 (Also, at this end of this blog, I have included a bit about a real-life dream that I just had about GC, if you’re interested in reading about it. It was really, more like a nightmare!)
Those who have planets or horoscope angles from 10 to 17 degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), will likely be most impacted by this eclipse. Also, all of us need to note the house in our birth charts where the eclipse is occurring, as the affairs of that house now are definitely being energized, and likely awaiting prompt, eager response from our delicate little brains.
Of course, whether any of this “opening door” stuff will also coincide with the miraculous arrival of the Publisher’s Clearing House sweepstakes crew to our front door, is highly doubtful. Although, we should never entirely give up hope here. I, for instance, just ordered 320 new magazines for the year in an earnest bid to effortlessly guide the PCH folks to the exact location of my house. I also have pictures of the late, great Ed McMahon, posted on my street mailbox, and in them he’s further pointing the way to my front door, as I have known about this eclipse for many months now and its’ possible ramifications for my life, if I take certain, drastic measures.
Capricorn is symbolized by the goat climbing up the mountain, with the mountain personifying success. Capricorn wants to be successful in whatever it does, so this eclipse new moon will likely have the net affect of firing up our ambitions. It’s the perfect time to really get going on our new year’s resolutions, be it to lose weight, or become chairman of the board. Win the PCH sweepstakes.
Arianna Huffington, in her “Sunday Roundup” at The Huffington Post on Sunday, mentioned that, this year, she was “deleting” some things from her resolution list, that she earlier thought she would do one day, but realizes now that she will never do. She is checking these resolutions off “as complete,” and crossing them off her list, so she can focus on “freeing up space for those projects” she is truly committed to. This is very reflective of the typical Capricornian-mindset, which is very utilitarian and realistic in its approach.
Also read in the Wall Street Journalthat Oprah Winfrey doesn’t even make resolutions anymore. She was quoted in there as saying: “I don’t make them, because I live in the space that I’m in right now. I move with the flow, live in the moment.” I guess, that approach also has its useful (Capricorn) advantages to it, as with that philosophy, you are maximizing, or at least attempting to anyway, what the present has to offer, instead of focusing on a future that is not at all guaranteed. Although, Capricorn also tends to be very cautious, likes to always have a plan in place, and is generally not very impromptu.
A Capricorn eclipse most likely will not bring us rapid fire gains, but rather signifies success as a result of self-discipline, commitment, hard work, and being pragmatic. Capricorn is not comfortable getting dragged into any obscure, or pie-in-the-sky endeavors. It wants to know, from the get-go, what it is dealing with. This may be especially the case, this go-round, as the eclipse forms a tight square with Karma Lord Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn. Saturn perennially delights in holding our feet to the fire, making us accountable. Both Saturn, and Capricorn, are totally turned off by irresponsibility. It could be, too, that this eclipse coincides with a more difficult time for persons in positions of power or management. Especially for those who have been under-performing, as Capricorn rules authority figures, and the Sun denotes leadership.
With the “Saturn square,” too, we tend to be more critical (Saturn) of our leaders and higher-ups, much less willing to cut them any slack. Could be, too, this eclipse is a catalyst for changes in many corporate boardrooms around the world. Changes that could even trickle down to the local PTA hierarchy level. Maybe even into our own workplace offices. Of course, we also have the new U.S. Congress taking office, this week, with a Republican-controlled House, voted in on an apparent mandate to cut spending (synonymous with this Capricorn eclipse more “budget-minded” mentality).
Too, it appears that Capt. Owen Honors of the USS Enterprise is going to be officially relieved of his duties, perhaps as early as today, for airing lewd videos for his crew aboard the aircraft. While this airing actually occurred a few years ago, his activities were only really publicly brought to light on the eve of the eclipse. Fascinatingly, Jupiter and Uranus are exactly conjunct in Pisces now, the zodiacal sign which rules film-making. Jupiter-Uranus can bring about sudden revelations!
The Jupiter and Uranus exact conjunction in watering hole Pisces (7:50 am EST) is, in fact, a big player in today’s lunation chart. These two guys have become pretty good drinking buddies, as of late. They have been basically paired up with each other for the last six months or so. Mostly in caring, underdog, dreamy Pisces, a short time in adventurous Aries. They are both headed back to Aries this year. Jupiter and Uranus won’t be conjunct again, however, until 2024. So this aspect is big news.
Again, Jupiter-Uranus can bring sudden breakthroughs (esp. in science, technology, internet) that significantly change or alter the playing field, both individually and collectively. Mentally, we may also envision grander possibilities for ourselves, perhaps see things in a totally new light. This is because Jupiter tends to expand or grow our consciousness. It is the planet of opportunity and abundance. Innovator Uranus, denotes change, and sudden flashes of genius and intuition. Uranus additionally rules humanitarian causes, and equality issues. Pisces, too, is a very compassionate sign. President Obama, for instance, just signed a big bill on Monday to give 9/11 first responders health care benefits. Was there ever a group more deserving? I don’t think so. It is also very exciting that we have this upbeat conjunction in place with this more practical Capricorn eclipse, as it gives us a desire to dream big (Pisces rules dreams), yet at the same time we are aware that we must work hard to turn our dreams into reality.
Additionally with this Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in place, we recently saw the historic repeal of the DADT bill in the U.S., which prevented gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military, a big leap forward for our nation, in my opinion. Another example of Uranus coming to the plate for us for equality and civil rights issues. I also mentioned in the last eclipse report for late Dec., that this same conjunction in 1969 in the sign of Libra coincided with the first “Moon walk,” yet another leap for all of mankind.
Also, there was more news, yesterday, of a possibly big breakthrough in cancer screening, in which even just one cancer cell may be able to be detected in the body. Wouldn’t that be great? How many lives might be saved with early detection? My mother sadly died of cancer on January 3, 1996. I also lost my husband to cancer. Who among us had not lost somebody to cancer? I wager to say, none of us.
To discern this conjunction’s magical meaning in our own lives, we should look to see the house that it is falling in, in our personal charts, to see where we may be experiencing sudden breakthroughs, or be arriving at fresh new understandings. Maybe even where miracles may be occurring. And, of course, we may have been already experiencing some of these things for the last several months, as this is the final phase of this opportunity cycle. Also, those persons who have planets or angles in their horoscopes at 27 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) are going to be impacted the most by this final pairing of these two planets. I have my Jupiter at 27 Gemini, so, I guess, I am among the “chosen few” here. Could be because of my annual contribution to PCH. Jupiter in Gemini loves to read.
Finally, love goddess Venus (ruling relationships and money), presently deposited in the latter degrees of passionate Scorpio, also figures prominently in today’s lunation chart. Venus is exactly square to Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius, and she is also in a magical, harmonious trine to the Jupiter and Uranus conjunction.
Venus-Neptune is all about glamorizing or idealizing romance, having fantasy or phantom lovers (GC?), romantic involvement with individuals who are often, in reality, not at all as they appear to be on the surface. We can also fall head over heels for people who are not free (could be married or otherwise committed), or they are maybe on a different wavelength than us. We can also be tempted to play the role of martyr under this influence. Neptune rules actors. artists, musicians, creative types in general, so I guess now, I am personally very vulnerable since I have a crush on both Clooney (actor) and Jagger (musician). 🙂
Venus-Neptune is a classic deceptive marker, so we need to be very careful that we are not lied to and played like a fiddle for a short time, and then sadly dumped by the curbside for Monday morning garbage pick-up. New romantic relationships that strike up now need to be given the test of time, to see if the other person can really, “walk their talk,” and chew spearmint gum at the same time! Few can. Also, we may want to run in-depth background checks on these new lovers. Definitely we need to be cautious about giving them any of our hard-earned cash. Additionally, we may want to lock up our valuable art work, especially our prized “paint-by-number pieces,” as this is a shifty influence associated with art thefts!
Simultaneously, Venus in Scorpio trine Jupiter and Uranus in spiritual Pisces could signify for us the formation of new, expansive relationships and friendships with more “highly-evolved” types, who are into helping humanity. Or, we may also be more attracted to scientific types (Uranus) or inventors. Too, there’s a chance that we could even become infatuated with computer geeks (Uranus). This trine could also possibly denote the arrival of a soul mate, since Scorpio does rule past lives, and Venus rules lovers.
With Venus-Uranus, we are more attracted to, and or more accepting of, persons who maybe are a little bit different from us, or who are maybe more unconventional in general. Entertainment-wise, we may also want to engage in activities that wildly or radically deviate from our usual routine. We also may be want to participate in group activities now, which Uranus rules.
Too, Venus-Jupiter characteristically is all about indulging in fun and pleasure. It can be very romantic. Venus-Uranus often brings about sudden attractions. Instant love! But remember, we still need to get the new love interest fingerprinted and thoroughly checked out, just as a precaution, due to Venus-Neptune. Later on, if we see that there might be some real potential, we may also want to go ahead and carefully administer an upright vacuuming test. In addition to asking the person directly, how they really feel about passionately vacuuming alone in the dark, especially during an eclipse. Do they like it, or not? If no, why not? Again, with Venus-Neptune, we must probe. Probe, probe, probe. 🙂
“Lose your dreams and you might lose your mind” Mick Jagger. Especially if I lose my dream about you, Mick!
Okay. Now to my dream about George Clooney: I did actually have a dream/nightmare about George on New Year’s day, during a short “solo” nap alone (: in the middle of the day. In the weird thing, I remember looking out of my front living room window in my house, and seeing George standing in my front yard, with another nondescript man of color, who I did not recognize. The other guy was kind of a big guy. Probably his bodyguard.
George was wearing a sexy black leather jacket and faded blue jeans. But, to the best of my recollection, he did not appear to have any whips or chains under his arms, or at least, any that I could see, and trust me, I was looking for them. Unfortunately, too, in the dream, George ended up walking AWAY from my house with that guy, without even venturing to ring my doorbell. Symbolically, I took this as a very bad omen. He should have been walking TOWARDS my house instead. Don’t you think?
My house also probably signifies my physical body. A real slap in the face that George can’t even bring himself to ringing my bell! Does anyone out there do dream interpretation? Know maybe what this dream about Clooney may mean, or portend for me? Could it mean that I’m suppose to move perhaps more in the direction of Mick Jagger, with my natal, dual-lover, Venus in Gemini placement? Seek Mick out for my spiritual and emotional rescue? 🙂

COSMIC WEATHER:
We need to watch ourselves “closely” today, as we may be invaded by all kinds of “weird, strange ideas” via the Sun’s queer “quinqunx” aspect to “I’m Purely A Figment Of Your Imagination” Neptune. Anytime Sun-Neptune pair up, things get a little “foggy” for us. Our judgment “gets cloudy.” There’s also ample opportunity to become “big time delusional” with this duo, as our imagination can easily “overtake us.” However, we also need to clarify here that this “delusional thinking” thing does NOT extend to our thoughts and feelings about George Clooney and also his feelings for us. We’re crazy about George Clooney and we know for a fact that he feels the same way about us! Don’t you, George?
Another spooky realm with Sun-Neptune is people “lying to us,” or at least “stretching the truth.” We also would be wise, ourselves, not to tell any “big lies” to others today, as there could be “serious fall-out” for us later, if we do. (Notice how I also said “big lies.” “Small lies” or “white lies,” are perfectly acceptable to tell and generally “unavoidable” and “needed” in the course of daily living to preserve the peace and save face, don’t you agree? Especially telling white lies about our age, weight, and whether we’ve had cosmetic surgery. Of course we’re going to “lie” about all those things! Also another acceptable lie: “Honey, do I look fat in this dress?” “No, you look great! (big fate lie!).” I did, however, date a guy once who did “lie” to me about his age and, frankly, that did bother me quite a bit. He kept the lie going to me, too, for several years, before I finally found out that he was actually five years older than what he originally told me. Felt like a fool when I did find this out and also very deceived. What other crap did he lie to me about? So, maybe it’s a “bad thing” for “men” to lie about their ages, but still “okay” for “women” to lie about their ages. Or maybe men can lie about their ages, too, but they need to come clean about this lie in a reasonable period of time. What do you think?)
On the bright side today, we do also have, perhaps, a “tighter grip on reality,” this go-round with Sun-Neptune, because the Moon is now in “Objective” Aquarius, which is suppose to endow us with miraculous ability to “coolly detach” from our emotions and thoughts. Let’s hope that this “detached ability” comes through for us today. On the plus side, too, Sun-Neptune can be highly creative. And, it also has strong “mystical overtones” to it.
As always, with the “Progressive, Group-Friendly” Aquarian Moon, this is a good time to immerse ourselves in social activities with friends, clubs, or perhaps partake in humanitarian outlets, which would be a very good thing for all of us to do. Too, with the “spacey” Sun-Neptune vibe, some of us may want to retrieve our hippie beads and bell bottoms and form a “temporary commune” maybe out in our back yards. Channel “fond memories” (at least what we can still recall) from the “good ole’ days.”
“Don’t trust anyone over thirty.”
“Make love, not war.”
“Tune in, drop out.”
“What’s your sign, man?”
“That’s groovy!”
Celebrity Birthday: Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers is having his 70th birthday today. Bill was born with his Sun, Mars, and Neptune tightly conjunct in Virgo. His Virgo planets are also harmoniously trine to Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus, all conjunct together in Taurus, which rules the voice. And, what a heavenly voice Bill has.
Was talking earlier in the blog about “Sun-Neptune” and how we had to “watch out” for this aspect today, as it can sometimes do “strange things to our psyches, including hijacking them, at least temporarily.” Well, while the “shadow side” of this aspect can incite delusional thoughts, stimulate ego-denying experiences, and generate other assorted difficulties in various and sundry ways, the upside to it is that it can also be a “phenomenally creative” aspect.
If you’re a musician, singer, painter, actor, photographer, film-maker, or dancer, Sun-Neptune is one of the best aspects to have because it gives a fertile imagination and the ability to visualize and conceptualize, often to the point of genius. It also gives incredible “psychic sensitivity,” and can make one deeply compassionate.
Bill’s Energizing Mars also conjoins his Sun-Neptune, intensifying his creative instincts even more. Elvis Presley had his Mars-Neptune midpoint exactly conjunct his midheaven (10th house of career). With Mars-Neptune, or Sun-Neptune, there is natural ability to be able to almost “hypnotically connect” with the public. It’s a very mesmerizing, dreamy aspect, especially for an entertainer or performer to have. And we want our entertainers to be able to transport us to “other realms” through their craft, don’t we? That’s all part of the imaginative “Neptunian” experience. So next time you “get lost” in a song, realize that you’re having a “Neptune” moment. Embrace the magic of it. Let it “set you free.”
NEWS UPDATE:
With the Sun exactly quinqunx Neptune today (Neptune rules the sea and oil), WSJ.com is reporting that BP’s blown-out oil well in the Gulf of Mexico has been declared “dead.” The 150 degree quinqunx aspect indicates an “altered” or “adjusted” state. In this case, part of the sea’s terrain (the oil well) is “adjusted.”
Also notable here is the exact Jupiter and Uranus’ conjunction in Neptune-ruled Pisces which can indicate “breakthroughs” (in the “Pisces sea”). So two powerful forces at play here.
Additionally, we have the powerfully energizing Mars in Scorpio sextile to healing Pluto, an aspect denoting “transformation” and “release.” (Pluto also rules wells and “depth experiences.”) Knowing that this well is now “dead” (a Scorpio state) will hopefully spawn a ” transformational healing” process in many, including the sea itself.
Also, WSJ.com is reporting that Sahara India Pariwar is in talks to buy Metro-Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) for more than $2 billion dollars. This story also ties in with the Sun quinqunx Neptune today and the Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Pisces, as Neptune and Pisces rule film-making studios and motion pictures. The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction can bring about “sudden developments” and “new opportunities.”

“No one can whistle a symphony. It takes an orchestra to play it.” H.E. Luccock
Cool quote, isn’t it? And, so true. We are often more limited in what we can do, individually, compared to what we can do when we pool our resources and work together to accomplish a common goal.
Too, when you think about it, the notion of self-sufficiency is really an illusion. No one is ever entirely self-sufficient.
Individual expression within the framework of a group is at the foundation of the Moon in airy Aquarius, the altruistic sign of brotherhood. We are now in day two of the Moon here.
Today is also an ideal time to put our own self-interests on the back burner and instead focus on what we can do to help further the cause of humanity. Sometimes just taking a moment to show someone a little kindness can help turn a world around.
Today’s Aquarian Moon energy also bodes well for matters concerning invention and scientific discovery, especially since we have the “keen” Sun in Gemini throwing a creative aspect (quintile) to “genius” Uranus in Aries.
Back on June 2, 1904, with the Moon also in Aquarius and expansive Jupiter in pioneering Aries, favorably aspected to focused Saturn in Aquarius, a microbe was identified that is responsible for photosynthesis, a colossal discovery by ‘Professor Schron.’ The Gemini Sun was also exactly conjunct Mars, the ruler of Aries. Sun-Mars often heralds big events, such as what I wrote about yesterday with the launch of CNN with the Sun in Gemini exactly square Mars.
Also, propitious Jupiter in Aries was harmonious to Pluto in Gemini. Pluto, as ruler of Scorpio, deals with the profound mysteries of life and also coincides with historic firsts. Jupiter is all about giving us opportunity, so we had a chance to unravel one of life’s most amazing processes.
On June 2, 1928 Velveeta Cheese was created by Kraft. And, guess what? Mental Mercury was in food-sign Cancer and applying to an exact square to discovery Uranus in Aries! The Gemini Sun was also exactly sextile Mars in Aries then, helping out again with the creation of something new.
Also, Jupiter was in Aries again, so there was a lot of inventive, adventurous, active-type energy permeating the air, very similar to what we have operating now with Uranus just moving into Aries and Jupiter slated to move there later this week. This Jupiter-Uranus energy can be very exciting – and apparently quite edible – when Cancer is involved.
In the News:
Running out of time here, but I did get a chance to quickly glance at the horoscopes of Al Gore and Tipper Gore. In case you didn’t hear about it, they are apparently splitting up after 40 years of marriage, which came as bit of a shock to a lot of people. Al is an Aries (b. 3/31/48) with transformational Pluto now transiting conjunct his Capricorn Moon which rules the home and family (Moon also signifies the wife). This is a big, heavyweight influence. Pluto tends to emotionally impact us at our very depths and also brings to the surface all kinds of feelings that may have been buried inside for ages.
Tipper is a Leo (b. 8/19/48) and she also has transiting Pluto sitting smack near her seventh house of marriage. Pluto has a way of coming into our lives in a bulldozer fashion and leveling many of the structures in it. Pluto is associated with the purging process, and as many of us know, purging elements from our lives can be very painful.
Tipper also has a major opposition aspect from the transiting Neptune to her natal Sun. Sun-Neptune influences tends to be disillusioning, confusing, and ego-denying. The Sun also depicts the husband in a woman’s horoscope and can indicate a dissolving of ties in that area, as Neptune is known as the Great Dissolver who often pulls the rug out from under us.
Al and Tipper also have challenging Saturn aspects, which additionally signal endings. Both of their horoscopes are also caught up in the cardinal cross playing out in the collective the next couple years, which I’ll be writing much more about soon. We wish Al and Tipper the best and feel sad about their breakup.
