The Moon shifts from pioneering Aries into sustaining Taurus (11:41 am EDT). However, that does not guarantee that we will gladly tow the status quo today. This is because initiator Mars and intellectual Mercury quinqunx radical, freedom-loving Uranus. An indication of a willingness to bend the rules and to think outside the box. It could be, too, that some changes are foisted upon us that we were not expecting, so we may need to be more flexible and adaptable in our responses.  Whenever we meet up with wild card Uranus, the existing order of things tends to be altered. The energy around us can also become a bit herky jerky, although hopefully the steady Taurus Moon will help to even things out this time around.

Mercury is also forming a 120-degree trine to perceptive Pluto, always a fascinating aspect that allows us to go deeper with our thinking. Pluto governs all that is submerged. This is an excellent influence for investigations and for making breakthrough discoveries. Some of these discoveries could also be more of a healing nature due to the regenerative aspect of Pluto.

Too, it is possible that we may hear or read something today that has a notable transformational impact on our lives. Sometimes we need to pull back from others. Maybe to reset a boundary that has gotten blurred. Or to simply reconnect with our center to examine how our relationships are reflecting what is in our heart. Today’s Venus square Saturn aspect can help to provide us with the distance that we may temporarily need so that we can once again discern or identify our true desires. Or it could be that this influence helps to provide a sacred space for us to seriously ponder our commitments.  Often, too, when we have the courage to let go of whatever it is that we desire, we find that what we really need has a way of effortlessly flowing into our lives.

This may be a day when patience and perseverance pay off handsomely for us as we have assertive Mars conjunct exacting Saturn. Generally, a time when it is suggested that we proceed at a slower pace and employ thoroughness and focus to all of our affairs.

Sometimes with this aspect we do meet up with unexpected delays or restrictions, which can, of course, test our patience. Unless we perhaps shift our perspective and allow ourselves to view any roadblocks as ultimately working in our best interests as Saturn is a great teacher.

Also, our actions may invite more scrutiny from others now.

Too, this is probably not the time to challenge authority figures or to buck the status quo – unless we have carefully done our due diligence and feel confident defending our position.

Sweet Venus is also opposing intense Pluto, an influence that tends to heighten our emotional expression. Occasionally, relationship issues that have been submerged or hidden will rise to the surface now, as Pluto governs the subconscious realm. This can be an appropriate time to “clear the air,” so to speak, due to the purging or cathartic nature of Pluto.

On the shadow side, however, we will want to avoid power struggles or manipulative moves as we find ourselves journeying through more complex emotional terrain.

Pluto’s activated ray can sometimes tilt us in a more controlling direction, if we do not stay mindful of our behavior. Psychologists say that we often seek external control over others when we feel a lack of power within ourselves. “He who has great power should use it lightly.” Seneca

The Moon goes void of course in sympathetic Cancer at 4:21 am, entering colorful Leo at 2:05 pm. Luna’s shift into Leo helps to elevate and emancipate our spirits and a conjunction with intellectual Mercury (11:24 pm EDT) endows us with a plethora of creative ideas.

Lovable Venus, in caring Cancer, is trining idealistic Neptune in Pisces today. With this dreamy influence, we tend to look for the best in others and are more compassionate. It is also an aspect traditionally associated with wanting a “fairy-tale romance.” Sometimes, too, it can happen with this influence. At the very least, it is easier to go “under the spell” of our beloved now, as Venus-Neptune can be very hypnotic.

Interestingly, Danish fairy-tale writer and poet, Hans Christian Anderson, was born with this aspect exact in his horoscope, with his Venus at 27 of Pisces and his Neptune at 27 of Scorpio.  Venus-Neptune is often synonymous with great talent and creativity. Many artists, writers, dancers, and other performers have this aspect in their charts. Venus represents beauty and art and Neptune, the higher octave of Venus, governs our imagination and vision. Poet e.e. cummings also had Venus trining Neptune: “Your slightest look easily will unclose me, though I have closed myself as fingers, you open petal by petal myself as Spring opens her first rose.”

We additionally have the practical, yet indulgent Taurus Moon in its Last Quarter phase, which favors wrapping up old business now versus starting anything new. The Moon also goes void-of-course at 2:55 pm EDT.  Too, with the Venus-Neptune trine we may want to focus on beautifying our surroundings today, with Venus deposited in home-related Cancer. This may also include purging or recycling what is no longer needed. De-weeding is another excellent activity for today, with the Moon in earthy Taurus and in its waning phase.

Today may be a little easier for our imagination to trump reality with the Moon diving into the fantasy waters of Pisces (9:58 am EDT). The Moon is also making its monthly conjunction with dreamy Neptune (2:04 pm EDT), Pisces’ ruler. Moon-Neptune is excellent for meditation, psychic development, and spiritual work and also for any activity that calls for creative visualization. “Visualize, ‘prayerize’, ‘actionize’, and your wishes will come true.” Charles L. Tonight, the Moon sextiles makeover Pluto (11:16 pm EDT), an emotionally recharging influence that is also good for recycling / refurbishing projects on the home front. Or for mending / transforming relations with family members or women. On another level, this same Moon-Pluto energy may be a good time to have a seance, as Pluto is also the planet of transitioning.

This aspect can give much talent for photography, film-making, writing, and even acting. Her Mercury is also in Cancer which would tend to focus her thoughts on food and the home. Her Neptune is in precise, perfecting Virgo, which also governs work.

We may also want to seek out unusual pursuits or amusements. Or learn new technology.

Mars, the planet of motivation, aligns with optimistic, expansive Jupiter and transformational Pluto today. For many of us, this may translate into an urge for an “extreme makeover” in some aspect of our lives. The desire for self-renewal is likely very keen now and may equate with our wanting to take some sort of bold, assertive action to bring it about. In some cases, too, this turnaround may come about for us without any seeming effort on our part, although if we go below the surface of things we may see that we have indeed been instrumental in bringing it about.

Simultaneously, we may also need to be more mindful and respectful of honoring other people’s boundaries now in our quest to get ahead. Otherwise, some fallout could ensue if we cross over the lines uninvited. Interestingly, Pluto rules not only debt, taxes, and other people’s monies, but also contractions and implosions. With Mars exactly squaring Pluto today, sometimes with this aspect our perception of what is “not working” or “broken” in our lives can become a major point of focus. Too, we often become much more cognizant of the need to take corrective measures to transform or overhaul things (the “rebirth” side of Pluto) under this influence. Also, Mars-Pluto, metaphorically, is often likened to a surgical procedure in that we remove what is diseased or toxic.

Since we also have Mars trining “big picture” Jupiter today, a very upbeat, visionary influence, we are reminded to keep an eye on our long-term vision now.
