COSMIC WEATHER:

“The best vision is insight.” – Malcolm Forbes

Perhaps “the third time” will be a charm as intellectual Mercury – now moving direct in solutions-oriented Virgo – forms a flowing trine to penetrating, transformational Pluto (11:56 pm). With the latter planet also stationing direct on October 8th at 26 degrees of Capricorn. (Mercury and Pluto were also trine earlier on August 22nd and September 27th as part of the Winged Messenger’s retrograde cycle.)

Accordingly, now may be a propitious period to finally figure out what may have eluded us before. As elements that may have been blocking or obscuring our view or progress are cleared away or begin to retreat.

Astrologers often compare Mercury-Pluto alignments to having X-ray vision. Which can also possibly help us out with such things as research projects. Too, with Mercury governing communication it is possible that our words can be used in a more riveting or persuasive manner now to achieve our goals or objectives. (Mystery writer Agatha Christie had her natal Mercury in Libra trine to her Pluto in Gemini.)

“Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or evil.” – Buddha

Meanwhile, the Waxing Moon also shifts from detached Aquarius to sensitive Pisces (8:47 am). A lunar period often associated with release or healing.

*All times EDT

Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.

Cosmic Weather:

“The world is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” W. B. Yeats

Today is a great time to go deeper with our thinking as intellectual Mercury forms a harmonious, waxing trine to investigative Pluto Rx (at 9:17 am), an aspect that naturally poises us to trek below the surface to get to the core of a matter or to uncover what may be buried or hidden in the depths. It’s also kind of like we may sense in our gut now that there’s more to something than what’s being presented. With Mercury also deposited in grounded Taurus we are likely more apt to come away now with some practical insights or ideas that are very useful for our daily lives, especially if we do decide to do a little poking around. Also, reflecting on what it is that we really value (Taurus) might be very instructive for us now, especially in possibly helping to order or re-order our priorities or maybe in determining how we should be spending our time or investing our resources.

Another thing to possibly muse about now: It was on January 12th of this year that Saturn and Pluto were exactly conjunct in Capricorn (an aspect that was also a long time in the making). Also in the mix then was messenger Mercury, which individually conjuncted both Saturn and Pluto, shortly beforehand, that day. It could be that today’s Mercury-Pluto trine aspect imparts some follow-up news or messages or offers up a few valuable insights or takeaways pertaining to that period.

Some famous people born with Mercury trine Pluto: Carrie Underwood, Elizabeth Montgomery, Johnny Carson, Jerry Seinfeld, Flip Wilson, Stephen Spielberg.

*All times EDT.

Hope it’s a good one! Be safe and well.

COSMIC WATCH:

“When people will not weed their own minds, they are apt to be overrun by nettles.” Horace Walpole

Clarity of mind can be a big game changer for us. Because when we have it, we usually spend much less time second-guessing or doubting ourselves. Which means that we automatically have more energy at our disposal to gravitate toward other things, including perhaps making progress toward our dreams.

In today’s cosmic lineup, intellectual Mercury – which is already considered strengthened by being in analytical Virgo – is trine to transforming, perceptive Pluto. Ideally helping us to gain a greater level of clarity or understanding depending upon what it is we are focusing on. We may be able see things now that we haven’t been able to see before, for whatever reason.

Also, it’s perhaps worth pointing out that sometimes even the slightest alteration in our perceptions can end up having major consequences for our lives, which I’m sure we’ve all experienced, at one time or the other.

Additionally, the greater awareness that is floating up to our consciousness now can also possibly translate into our being able to communicate with others more persuasively and with more conviction or certainty.

Question for Today: Where do you think clarity possibly has been missing in your life?

COSMIC WATCH:

“The conventional view serves to protect us from the painful job of thinking.” John Kenneth Gailbraith.

The Moon shifts from pioneering Aries into sustaining Taurus (11:41 am EDT). However, that does not guarantee that we will gladly tow the status quo today. This is because initiator Mars and intellectual Mercury quinqunx radical, freedom-loving Uranus. An indication of a willingness to bend the rules and to think outside the box. It could be, too, that some changes are foisted upon us that we were not expecting, so we may need to be more flexible and adaptable in our responses.  Whenever we meet up with wild card Uranus, the existing order of things tends to be altered. The energy around us can also become a bit herky jerky, although hopefully the steady Taurus Moon will help to even things out this time around.

Mercury is also forming a 120-degree trine to perceptive Pluto, always a fascinating aspect that allows us to go deeper with our thinking. Pluto governs all that is submerged. This is an excellent influence for investigations and for making breakthrough discoveries. Some of these discoveries could also be more of a healing nature due to the regenerative aspect of Pluto.

Too, it is possible that we may hear or read something today that has a notable transformational impact on our lives. This is also a very good aspect for spreading our own sphere of influence in the world either through speech or writing. “If you want to change the world, pick up your pen and write.” Martin Luther.

What is hidden from view COSMIC WATCH:likely piques our interest today. We are also potentially willing to dig deeper to ferret out the truth. Excellent day for research or investigation as our mind possibly has a sharper edge to it. This is also a time when we may want to do some inner work, perhaps examining past issues. Additionally, our words may carry more of a potent impact.

COSMIC WATCH:

“We must remember that one determined person can make a significant difference, and that a small group of determined people can change the course of history.” Sonia Johnson

Big, big day today! The Moon is in personally ambitious Capricorn the Goat. Mercury (thoughts) and Mars (action) are exactly conjunct in determined, materialistic Taurus the Bull. Both are also trining intense Pluto (transformation agent) in resourceful Capricorn. We are able to think and act decisively (Mercury-Mars), leveraging a laserlike mental focus (Mercury-Pluto) and unwavering resolve (Mars in Taurus) to miraculously move mountains (Mars-Pluto) and end up smack at the very top (Capricorn).

We also have x-ray vision (Mercury-Pluto) and can masterfully detect what was previously hidden to us, making this a potent day for problem-solving, or for figuring out previous, elusive mysteries. (On more of a collective level, it’s a good time for Pluto-ruled spying and espionage.)

This is definitely a day when we will want to stay fully engaged and not take our eyes off our targeted goals. We also have the chance to rally influential persons (Pluto) to our cause to back us or assist us, i.e. a fabulous time for “power networking.”

On another level, with mighty Pluto’s “purging ray” activated, now is an ideal period to eliminate or get rid of deadweight, or whatever is not working for us. Mysterious Pluto likes to travel with as little baggage as possible, and often in incognito. We are, therefore, well-served to do the same. Be perhaps a little “mum” to the world about all of our action plans until the last minute. Discuss our power-brokering strategies in private, “closed-door chambers.”

In The News: I have taken a quick peek at Maria Shriver‘s and Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s horoscopes. The Scorpio Full Moon on Tuesday fascinatingly fell exactly on Maria’s 7th house of marriage at 26 degrees Scorpio, putting a bright spotlight on both her marriage and the marriage partner. With “revealing” Pluto ruling Scorpio, too, we are often privy to finding out “secret” or “hidden” information.

Arnold, meanwhile, had the Full Moon in Scorpio falling exactly in his fifth house of children, near his expansive Jupiter, setting the stage for the world to learn that he had more (Jupiter) offspring than what was originally known about him publicly. It was also on the exact day of the Full Moon in Scorpio on Tuesday that Arnold finally “came clean” about his past and his secret love child. Scorpio also rules sex and intimate affairs.

Too, for the last few days, we have been hearing about the “high-profile” alleged sexual assault case involving Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former head of the International Monetary Fund, details of which first emerged just prior to the “revelatory” Scorpio Full Moon.

Cosmc Watch:

A painting by Picasso “Nude, Green Leaves and Bust” sold for $106.5 million last night at Christie’s, setting a record as the most expensive piece of artwork ever sold at an auction.  Picasso reportedly painted the picture in one day!

Astrologically, the transiting Sun in Taurus was exactly square pioneering Mars in Leo at auction time. Taurus rules money and possessions and Mars in Leo potentially fires up creative-type endeavors.  Mars nature is thought to bee adventurous and often correlates with “firsts” being set, while the square “forces action.” often impulsive, spontaneous moves.

Too, we still have thinker Mercury in acquisition-minded Taurus separating from a trine to intense passions Pluto in status-conscious Capricorn

“Perhaps there is only one cardinal sin: impatience.  Because of impatience we were driven out of Paradise, because of impatience we cannot return.” W.H. Auden

Cosmic Watch:

With the Sun square Mars, we’re possibly feeling more pressured and are more prone to acting on impulse rather than thought. That strategy can be risky and self-sabotaging, especially today when we can easily get in over our head.

It may be far wiser for us to take some time and gather our thoughts and put our minds at ease before acting. Sometimes, too, it’s better to let things play out.

We also want to make sure that we focus our attention, as best as we can, on whatever task it is that we are working on. That way we can help to avoid careless mishaps.

Also, focusing on our strengths instead of ruminating on our weaknesses, serves us very well now. When our thoughts are centered on what we can do, we feel empowered. However, when we dwell on our perceived deficits, that only adds to our feeling of pressure.

“Argue for your limitations and, sure enough, they’re yours.” Richard Bach

The Moon also wraps up her sojourn through pragmatic Capricorn and enters experimental Aquarius at 4:52 pm EDT. That Moon sign change may also be when we are more inclined to throw caution to the wind. We may want to remember, though, that exercising caution is sometimes a byproduct of wisdom.

In the News:

United Airlines announced on Monday it will merge with Continental Airlines in a deal worth $3.2 billion, creating the world’s largest airline! Yesterday is when we also had Mercury (ruler of travel and transportation) exactly trine to controlling/transforming Pluto. Pluto is often linked with power moves and this merger will certainly do that.

Also, the transiting Sun in merger-acquisition Taurus is square to pioneering Mars symbolically signifying taking action (square) on business deals (Taurus).

Uranus also rules aviation and we additionally have practical, resourceful Saturn opposed to Uranus now. That is no doubt another factor as the two existing airlines (Saturn) come together to form essentially a new entity (Uranus) perhaps as a matter of survival (Saturn).

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Patrice Thompson

COSMIC WATCH:

“The person who can combine frames of reference and draw connections between ostensibly unrelated points of view is likely to be the one who makes the creative breakthrough.” – Denise Skerejian.

We may be more astute in our thinking today. And deeper psychological perceptions / mental breakthroughs may abound as intellectual Mercury trines transformational Pluto.

Pluto represents hidden or submerged elements. When it’s aligned with Mercury, we potentially have aspects of our innermost being filtering through to the surface now. Our task today is to sift through those inner contents for nuggets of gold!

“Truth like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.” – Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy.

Mercury-Pluto is also thought to be a healing energy that can help us to get at the root of our thinking. Possibly included here: purging some of our more toxic or self-sabotaging beliefs about ourselves.

Luna, meanwhile, continues in ambitious Capricorn. The Taurus Sun is also applying to a square to Mars in Leo which is exact tomorrow. The urge for power is potentially elevated now. Positive advancement is possible, but we must be careful not to create unnecessary enmity by acting with little or no regard for others.  This may especially apply to any financial or possession dealings.

“Leadership is based on inspiration, not domination; on cooperation, not intimidation.” – William Arthur Ward.

Enjoy your Monday!

“Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” Theodore Roosevelt.

Cosmic Watch:

Moon enters practical Capricorn (6:00 am).  We want to feel useful and know that our actions are making a difference.  When we are doing what we love, we naturally feel purposeful. Today, is a potentially a good day to channel a passion of ours into a meaningful achievement or activity.

Thought-keeper Mercury is also harmoniously aligned (trine) to secretive Pluto.   We are able to penetrate and tap into life’s deepest mysteries and solve a mystery or two in the process. What alluded us before, is now made crystal clear.

“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.” Albert Einstein.

We are well-advised to stick with things today. To focus our energies for maximum impact. Make it a day of discovery (Pluto) and purpose (Capricorn).

*All times EDT

In the News:

The tragedy of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico continues to unfold.

Checking back to the Exxon Valdez oil spill on March 24, 1989, we find that Saturn and Neptune were both conjunct in Capricorn then. Neptune rules the sea and oil; Saturn represents trials and tribulations. It also perhaps speaks to us about the importance of owning up to our duties/responsibilities.

Today, interestingly enough, we have Saturn and Neptune together again. This time Saturn is in perfecting, refining Virgo exactly quincunx to Neptune in experimental Aquarius.Saturn also rep resents the principle of conservation or the wise use of our resources.

Maybe this quincunx influence will help to usher in wiser stewardship practices (Virgo) and teach us to, perhaps, figure out how to better utilize our technological know-how (Aquarius) so as to live more judiciously with Mother Earth in the future?
