Cosmic Weather:

(Venus in Gemini opposes Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius, 12:44 pm;

Venus quinqunx Saturn in Capricorn, 10:31 pm;

Moon in Pisces squares Jupiter, 10:03 pm; sextiles Saturn, 11:09 pm; squares Venus, 11:13 pm; and conjuncts Neptune in Pisces, 11:55 pm.)

*All times EDT

It sometimes seems that our desires, needs, and/or wants have a mind of their own, doesn’t it? Today, for instance, we may crave x,y, or z. But then, tomorrow, we may do a complete 180 and suddenly want whatever we didn’t want yesterday. Go figure! And then there are other times when we are pretty much clueless about seemingly everything, except maybe about the type of food we like to eat. Or perhaps the people we like to hang out with. 🙂

With Venus (representing what we love, covet, or value) forming an opposition to Jupiter Rx (the urge for expansion), we may be seductively drawn to an ever-widening array of choices that we perceive or suspect might bring us a fairly good measure of earthly pleasure. Sort of akin to a child being set loose in a toy store and wanting or demanding to see/touch/examine everything.

But Venus is also forming a quincunx aspect to Saturn Rx (signifying rules, limits, and the past). This influence seems to suggest that while we are pondering or reaching for more now, we also are possibly constrained or restricted, in some ways, by the memories or experience(s) of our past. It could be, too, that we’re waxing nostalgic for certain elements of our past; but also probably knowing, simultaneously, that those things are no longer really doable or viable for us, in our present-day world, and that looking back upon them now might even be a bit torturous or self-sabotaging for us, depending upon how we manage to spin things. Saturn also signifies the scarcity principle so perhaps we are feeling ambivalent about even indulging our desires, at this time, with taskmaster Saturn reminding us that “there’s always a price to pay for everything.”

To top it off, the Waning Moon is also in dissolving, transpersonal Pisces, all day, and later tonight, it will also be aspecting Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn, as well as ego-denying Neptune, the Moon’s ruler, so it could be that we are able to cross a bridge or turn a corner now, and move forward, to some degree, by letting go, or by surrendering some of what we have – but don’t really need. Too, just cognitively recognizing/accepting our resistance to letting go of “whatever it may be” now might also be a positive game-changer for us as it’s potentially laying down the groundwork for the future, and how we may want that future to be. Sometimes, we have to partake in a number of “test-runs” in our head before we’re fairly certain that we’re proceeding in the right direction.

“What’s the greater risk? Letting go of what people think – or letting go of how I feel, what I believe, and who I am?” Brene Brown

Question for Today: What one thing could you give up now that you intuitively know would be very freeing for you? Also, how might you be liberated by its release?

On This Day in History: On June 23, 1963, The Detroit March to Freedom occurs with 125,000 people participating, the largest civil rights demonstration in America up to that point.

Astrologically, that day, the nurturing Cancer Sun was exactly sextile to Uranus, the planet of change and equality, in the corrective sign of Virgo. (Sun-Uranus also favors group expression/group participation especially with respect to social and or humanitarian causes.)

Pioneering, assertive Mars was also separating (one degree) from an exact conjunction with transforming Pluto, both planets also in “fix-it” Virgo. Mars-Pluto energy is generally very powerful and intense in nature. We normally feel very driven or motivated to attain our objectives with it. It’s also associated with displaying acts of courage and or bravery as well as wanting to reclaim/wield/espouse our own personal power in the world.

“The cost of liberty is less than the price of repression.” W.E.B Du Bois

daily astrology, daily horoscope, empathy, life path, Mars conjunct North Node, Moon in Libra, moon trine sun, relationships, Sun in Gemini, teamwork

Cosmic Weather:

The Moon continues in relationship Libra, all day, making a flowing trine to the inquisitive Gemini Sun, this morning (8:57 am), hopefully helping us to feel more of a sense of inner peace or ease with others. This aspect also nicely supports any self-promotion within the public arena as well as any teamwork endeavors. Of course, hanging out with others also often affords us the chance to gain new perspectives on things, or to see the world from a wider lens, and that is something that the curious Gemini Sun most definitely relishes, along with conversation!

Additionally, engaging in face-to-face interactions is also a very good way for us to potentially increase our levels of empathy for each other. Leo Buscaglia (also known as “Dr. Love”) said that, “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

Assertive Mars is also conjunct the North Node in nurturing Cancer, this evening (at 6:46 pm), an influence that can inspire or motivate us to make some headway or progress along what we perceive to be is our own unique, special life path. We may want to especially pay attention now to what is calling out to us, from our heart. Where are we being led? In what direction are we being nudged or prodded to grow, maybe in a courageous way?

“Of all the paths a man could strike into, there is, at any given moment, a best path. A thing which, here and now, it were of all things wisest for him to do. To find this path, and walk in it, is the one thing needful for him.” Thomas Carlyle

daily astrology, daily horoscope, Janis Joplin performs her first live concert, letting go, opportunity, productivity, self-improvement, Sun opposes Jupiter, Sun quinqunx Saturn

Cosmic Weather:

We start out the gate, this Monday, with the Waxing, First Quarter Moon in the self-improvement sign of Virgo, until early tonight (at 8:28 pm), when it will then shift into balancing Libra. The Virgo Moon also goes VOC, this morning (at 8:01 am). Generally, the Virgo Moon is a good time to be purposeful and productive and to focus on tasks that require attention to detail and discipline. As to how we can be most productive, Dale Carnegie once insightfully advised: “Do the hard jobs first. The easy jobs will take care of themselves.”

The curious Sun in Gemini is also quinqunx to taskmaster Saturn Rx in Capricorn today (at 5:03 am), suggesting we are harboring some possible angst about our (past) worldly accomplishments now, including maybe even second-guessing ourselves? Or, possibly it is something else that is red flagging or dogging us now (if we are feeling out of sorts), that also has us maybe thinking about security or scarcity issues. Whatever the complicated, twisted scenario, a smart, savvy power play for us now might be to simply hit the pause button. Give ourselves some time to restoratively breathe again, and to sensibly sort things out. Maybe we are (or have been) going down the wrong road path(s), as of late (for one reason or the other), and we now need to simply modify or re-arrange our fetching designer thinking caps on our heads so we can boogie on back to our drawing boards, in style.

Lastly, we also have the Gemini Sun making a formal opposition to Santa Claus Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius, later this morning (11:27 am). Ironically, what Saturn takes away, Jupiter often tries its best to copiously bring back, ten-fold! This expansive Sun-Jupiter energy, while it can bring us some exciting goodies (opportunities) today – and hopefully it will – it can also make us more inclined to overreach (or to put more on our plates than we will ever be able to consume or use). Unfortunately, having too much of even the “good things” in life can lead, eventually, to inner feelings of powerlessness, as we can begin to fractionalize our energies that way (and that can also quickly lead to extra stress and/or burn-out). Since Jupiter is also Rx now, it could be that we are being shown today where we have already taken on too much of a load, etc., and now we are seeing that we need to let some of it go. Something which the detoxifying Virgo Moon, and minimalist Saturn in Cappie, can both gladly, and most assuredly, help us out with!

“There are times in life when people must know when not to let go. Balloons are designed to teach small children this.” Terry Pratchett

*All times EDT

On This Day in History: On June 10, 1966, Janis Joplin’s first live concert was held in Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco.

Joplin (b. 1/19/43) had transiting Saturn in creative Pisces exactly sextile to her Capricorn Sun, that day (often a time of notable career success, when we are rewarded for our past efforts). Assertive, energizing Mars was also in Gemini and exactly trine to her natal Mercury in inventive Aquarius (a period when we usually feel much more like relating and communicating with others, and a time when our speech and words flow much more freely – excellent for being on stage).

“On stage, I make love to 25,000 different people, then I go home alone.” Janis Joplin

confused, daily astrology, daily horoscope, indecisive, Robert Goddard patents the first rocket powered aircraft design, Sun square Neptune, up in the air

Cosmic Weather:

“Sixty minutes of thinking of any kind is bound to lead to confusion and unhappiness.” James Thurber

Today, buckaroos, we may not be sure whether to go with what is behind door number 1, door number 2, or door number 3. Or, for that matter, door number 4, door number 5, or door number 6! The bottom line is: We are probably not exactly sure about what in the heck to do in all the glowing aspects of our tenuous, vacuous lives now, thanks entirely to gaseous, spaced out, over-bloated Neptune (the psychedelic planet of deception, ruses, mirages, confusion) bobbing up and down surreptitiously in oceanic Pisces, devoutly dissolving, blocking out the cerebral rays of the empowering Sun in what, used to be thought of, as “erudite” Gemini (3:33 pm EDT), the zodiacal sign (formerly) associated with our ever bubbly, conscious awareness.

Now, regrettably, all that is seemingly left of it (our minds, our consciousness), is just a big, fat puddle…

Oh, well…

Not really much around today, either, to stem the Neptunian flow/fall-out, or to heroically anchor us in the heartbeat of the moment, except the cleanaholic Virgo Moon, and she is belly-aching to us about all the blasted water on the floor, and how in the world did it get there, and what she will do with us if we don’t hurry up and get it all mopped up!

Ouch! 🙂

“Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down. And this is all life really means.” Robert Louis Stevenson.

On This Day in History: On June 9, 1931, the first rocket-powered aircraft design was patented by Robert Goddard.

Interestingly, the astrology that day reveals the ever-curious, illuminating Gemini Sun exactly sextile (an opportunity aspect) to innovative Uranus, the planetary ruler of rockets and aviation, which is very cool. Uranus was also in the pioneering sign of Aries the Ram.

“Just remember – when you think all is lost, the future remains.” Robert Goddard.

Cosmic Weather:

Waxing Moon is in Leo, shifting into Virgo at 5:44 pm

Moon squares Venus in Taurus at 5:23 pm

Venus Enters Gemini at 9:36 pm. Venus will stay in Gemini until July 3rd.

*All Times EDT

This Saturday, with the Waxing Moon in fun-loving Leo, during the day, and squaring indulgent Venus in Taurus, partaking in pleasurable activities now appears to be a good formula for racheting up our inner feelings of well-being. H. Jackson Brown, Jr., the author of Life’s Little Instruction Book advises that we should, “Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures.” To which the Leo Moon and Venus in Taurus might also add: “And don’t forget to bring along the checkbook!”

Later, the Moon’s shift into tidy Virgo (where it will stay for the next two and a half days), is a prime opportunity for us to become better organized, and a time when many of us will likely (albeit, perhaps reluctantly) trade in the (Leo) “big hair” for a “Brillo pad.” The Virgo Moon is also an excellent period for tinkering with things, perfecting our craft, as well as turning over our “honey-do” list to our partners for (keeping fingers crossed) rapid fulfillment.

Finally, sweet Venus flits into breezy, flirtatious Gemini, later tonight. Venus (governing love, money, values) is very lighthearted – maybe even a bit lightheaded, at times – in the dizzying air sign of Gemini, where variety in relationships, with recreational pastimes, art, beauty, fashion is definitely an elixir. Venus in Gemini’s emotions are on a more mental than feeling level; there is also often a need for friendship within a love relationship when Venus is deposited in this sign.

“A girl can wait for the right man to come along but in the meantime that doesn’t mean she can’t have a wonderful time with all the wrong ones.” Cher

(Born 5/20/46, Cher has her Venus at 25 degrees of Gemini and in a wide conjunction to unconventional Uranus in her behind-the-scenes, 12th House.)

Question for Today: How would you respond to Tina Turner’s “What’s love got to do with it?”

On This Day in History: On June 8, 1789, James Madison introduces a proposed Bill of Rights in the US House of Representatives.

The Astrology that day: There was a nearly exact Grand Air Trine involving the empowering Sun conjunct harmony-seeking Venus (in contractually-oriented Gemini), transforming Pluto (in humanitarian Aquarius), and unifying Neptune (in judicial, balancing Libra). The Moon was also in idealistic, philosophical Sagittarius and in its Full Phase.

Famous June 8 Birthdays: Frank Lloyd Wright, Barbara Bush, Jerry Stiller, Joan Rivers, Nancy Sinatra, Julianna Margulies, Gabrielle (Gabby) Giffords

daily astrology, daily horoscope, home or family, innovative, Mercury sextile Uranus, obtaining financing, outside the box thinking, US Supreme Court effectively legalizes contraception by married couples

Cosmic Weather

(Mercury in Cancer sextiles Uranus in Taurus, 10:16 am)

*All Times EDT

Today, we may be receiving a heavenly deposit into our “genius” bank account (Uranus in Taurus) potentially raising our personal “brilliance quotient” to record-new levels! But will it be enough to cover the rent or the mortgage? Or to put food on the table? (Typical Mercury in Cancer concerns.) Or maybe help to finance a brand new shiny Tesla? Unfortunately, only “Who” knows. And, rather predictably, “Who” is choosing to remain exasperatingly mute on the topic. Guess we will have to fashion our own ending to the story…To be continued! 🙂

Seriously, Mercury sextile Uranus can be a very cool, energizing influence for us, cognitively speaking. This planetary aspect is associated with sudden flashes of insight or intuition, ingenuity, innovation. Needless to say, a great day to jot down our ideas, even if we do not act upon them, just yet. Additionally, today may be an excellent time to seek out creative financing or funding for projects related to the home or family. Or to try out fresh new approaches with homefront issues.

Question for Today: What is a more “off-the-wall” idea of yours that has really paid off for you in a big way?

On This Day in History: On June 7, 1965, The Supreme Court of the United States decides on Griswold v. Connecticut, effectively legalizing the use of contraception by married couples.

Regarding the astrology that day: Feminine Venus had just entered Cancer at one degree (the sign of the womb/family). The Moon had also shifted into matrimonial Libra, mid-morning. Jupiter (affiliated with judges and courts) and Mercury (decisions) were also conjunct in detached, cerebral Gemini and exactly square to change-oriented Uranus in health-related Virgo; and Saturn (convention, restrictions) in dissolving Pisces was in a close trine with accepting Neptune in sexual, reproductive rights Scorpio.

Famous June 7 Birthdays: Susan Blow (American educator who pioneered kindergarten education), Paul Gauguin, Dean Martin, Tom Jones, Liam Neeson, Mike Pence, Anna Kournikova, Prince

Cosmic Weather:

(Mercury enters Cancer at 4:04 pm)

*All times EDT

“It seems my heart is made of tissue paper; I wish the world would handle it more delicately.” Richelle E. Goodrich

The “Winged Messenger’s” transit through maternal Cancer (until June 26th) enhances our sensitivity to our environment and our emotions. With Mercury’s passage through the sign of the Crab, there can be more of a mental fixation with wanting to logically understand/figure out/detail what we are feeling, in the present moment, as well as wanting to chronicle what we have gone through in the past. Accordingly, this placement of Mercury is particularly excellent for studying such things as history and genealogy. (Carl Jung, b. July 26, 1875, who coined the phrase “collective unconscious” had both his Mercury and Venus conjunct in Cancer; this concept refers to the idea that our deepest unconscious mind is passed down to us, genetically, and is not based upon personal experience.)

With Cancer also being a cardinal water sign, Mercury in Cancer can impact our communication style in such a way that our emotions or private inner world are potentially more apt to bubble up and spill over into our spoken or written words now, which can result in our revealing, perhaps, on occasion, more about ourselves than maybe we had intended. On the other hand, this placement of Mercury is excellent for helping us to connect/bond with other people on an emotional level. It is also a very intuitive placement for Mercury. (*Note: Mercury will be re-entering Cancer on July 19th through August 12 due to its upcoming retrograde cycle.)

Overall, Mercury transiting through Cancer focuses our thoughts/generates news stories on home and family related matters; on antiques; women’s issues; on real estate and mortgages; on issues of patriotism, protectionism, homeland security; on agriculture, farming, or the food supply; on cooking (it is an ideal time to take cooking classes or write a cookbook); on the restaurant industry; the boating industry.

Question for Today: What part of your past do you consciously cling to the most?

Famous June 4 Birthdays: Angelina Jolie, Joyce Meyer, Michelle Phillips, Noah Wyle

“We need a backbone, not a wishbone.” Joyce Meyer

On This Day in History: On June 4, 1919, the US Congress passes the Women’s Suffrage Bill, the 19th Amendment.

Astrologically, that day, Venus (women), Jupiter (expansion, opportunity, diversity, politics) and Pluto (reform, transformation) were all in the sign of Cancer, which is also the Sun Sign for the U.S. Pluto was also applying (one-degree) to a square to Wounded Healer Chiron, in new beginnings Aries.

Aretha Franklin's Respect reaches number one, book club, curiosity, daily astrology, daily horoscope, Mercury sextile Aries, New Moon in Gemini 2019, thinking, wrting

Cosmic Weather:

(New Moon in Gemini at 12 degrees, 6:01 am)

(Mercury in Gemini sextiles Vesta in Aries, 9:08 am)

*All times EDT

“The more I read, the more I acquire, the more certain I am that I know nothing.” Voltaire

Today we have a chance for a clean slate with a New Moon in “thinker” Gemini… Well, almost! Not sure if it is ever possible to wipe out all that has gone before – even though with a plethora of new, technologically-improved, enhanced cleaning products on the market, it could be that many of our more “dubious, unsanitized ideas” are likely treading on very shaky ground, at the moment…:)

Regardless, a New Moon in “cerebral” Gemini today puts a spotlight on, among other things, our thoughts and ruminations; our curiosity; our ability to learn new things, as well as gather and present information; our aptitude to be conversational, witty, humorous; to be a jack-of-all-trades, a busybody, a social media maven, a talking head.

Since the Moon in Gemini also prefers to keep a rather frenetic pace, expect to be flitting along, the next few weeks, primarily in a vertical position. This monthly lunar period celebrates/fosters a deep curiosity about our environment – and all that is in it! We are also learning to be more flexible or versatile now; less wedded to our ideas/viewpoints. In fact, the truth is, we are likely to be all over the place, for the foreseeable future. Virtual nomads! Able to make do with just the clothes on our backs – and perhaps a designer purse, or two (can’t relinquish everything that we fought so hard for during the previous Lunar cycle in “thingy” Taurus).

Mercury in Gemini is also the ruler of today’s New Moon and it is forming a sextile to Vesta in “I am” Aries. This should allow us to mentally focus quickly on matters at hand, and to take direct action, if necessary. Especially as it pertains to putting forward our own initiatives/agendas – particularly the idea of birthing something new, and personal. (Vesta reveals where we can be very purposeful or dedicated.)

Some favored activities for a New Moon in Gemini: joining a book club; taking a speed-reading course; learning a new language; writing or blogging; enjoying get-togethers with siblings, neighbors, and friends; attending lectures or seminars; going sight-seeing; taking short trips.

“You may keep wandering in life all the time but one day life will take you to the place where you are meant to be!” Avijeet Das

Question for Today: What are you most curious about? Also, on the flip side, what are you least curious about?

Famous June 3 Birthdays: Anderson Cooper, Tony Curtis, Josephine Baker, Allen Ginsburg, Jefferson Davis, Michelle Keegan.

“The tide of history only advances when people make themselves fully visible.” Anderson Cooper

On This Day in History: On June 3, 1967, Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” reaches #1.

“It’s the rough side of the mountain that’s the easiest to climb; the smooth side doesn’t have anything for you to hang on to.” Aretha Franklin

It is as if the layers are peeled back now and we are able to see what we must have – or what is non-negotiable for us – in order to feel an internal/external sense of richness/safety/security. Correspondingly, there may also be a greater focus on solidifying, strengthening, or deepening our roots/connections/attachments.

Additionally, Venus-Pluto can also ignite our passions as well as unleash or invite more healing forms of energy. Venus-Pluto is often associated with “breathing new life” into old relationships. It might also be a good time to get our finances in order, or to commune with nature.

(Balsamic Moon)

The Waning Moon is in its Balsamic (Dark) Phase, entering communicative Gemini (at 7:47 am). This Lunar period is best for wrapping up or finishing things, and for rest or renewal, in preparation for tomorrow’s New Moon in Gemini.

“Rest and be thankful.” William Wordsworth

Question for Today: What is something that you are “non-negotiable” about?

Famous June 2 Birthdays: Marquis de Sade, Johnny Weissmuller, Charlie Watts, Kyle Petty, Rachel Ray, Dana Garvey

“Conversation, like certain portions of the anatomy, always runs more smoothly when lubricated.” Marquis de Sade

On This Day in History: On June 2, 1875, Alexander Graham Bell (b. March 3, 1847) makes the first sound transmission. (Bell was a Scottish-born scientist, inventor, engineer, and innovator who is credited with inventing and patenting the first practical telephone. He also founded the American Telephone and Telegraph Company in 1885.)

Astrologically, on June 2, 1875, the Sun was in “communications-guru” Gemini, at 11 degrees, and exactly sextiling inventive Uranus, at 11 degrees of creative, authoritative Leo. Pioneering Mars was also retrograde in Capricorn and in a tight opposition (within one degree) to Mercury in Cancer (Mercury rules telephones and communication and the sign of Gemini).

Meanwhile, energizing Mars was also transiting Graham’s 10th house of career (on June 2nd), and also sextile (within one degree) his natal Saturn (Saturn is not only the natural ruler of the tenth house, it can also represent our individual accomplishments/contributions to the culture).

Finally, Mercury in Cancer at 4 degrees was also exactly trining Bell’s Saturn at 4 degrees of imaginative Pisces. Mercury-Saturn energy can solidify or be foundational for communications. It also can symbolize scientific breakthroughs and enhanced powers of concentration.

“Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work in hand. The Sun’s rays do not burn until brought to a focus.”  Alexander Graham Bell

Enjoy your Sunday!

Cosmic Weather:

(Venus in Taurus quinqunx Jupiter Retrograde in Sagittarius)

With sweet, amiable Venus still deposited in stabilizing, enduring Taurus, and just coming off of a trine (yesterday) to cautious Saturn, in strategic Capricorn, having a sense of permanence or safety in relationships/money matters/or with possessions is something that is more paramount now for the ever smooth-functioning of our groovy psyches.

That is why today may require some extra finesse/discipline/innovativeness, on our part, in being able to concoct tasty lemonade from any of the sour lemons that may criss-cross our path now. Mainly referring here to placating, ‘big hip Jupiter’ in Sadge and his sudden, lusty, disruptive desire/need/vision to ‘fly the coop,’ so to speak, and take us along as willing hostages/subjects/participants on a decadent excursion to some exotic, faraway place. Or, wherever one can go to, for that matter, in which a person can part with considerable sums of cash/money/moolah in a blink of an eye! All experiences incurred, of course, from Jupiter’s perspective, for our own edification and/or glory so that we do not become too pot bound and shrivel up and die while we still have hefty mortgages and our kids’ college tuition, to pay off! 🙂

“I am looking for someone to share in an adventure that I am arranging, and it’s very difficult to find anyone.’

I should think so — in these parts! We are plain quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner!” J.R.R. Tolkien

Question for Today: What might tempt you to “throw caution to the wind” now – and how might it be worth it?

Famous June 1st Birthdays: Marilyn Monroe, Morgan Freeman, Heidi Klum, Brigham Young

“Sometimes things fall apart so that better things can fall together.” – Marilyn Monroe

On This Day in History: On June 1, 1971, Ed Sullivan’s final TV show on CBS.

Astrologically, Sullivan (b. 9/28/1901) had transiting Uranus (harbinger of change) in public-arena Libra exactly square to his natal Saturn (a signifier of retirement) in the career sign of Capricorn.

“Tonight, we have a really big show for you…” – Ed Sullivan (b. 9/28/1901)

Hope you enjoy your Saturday!
