With intellectual Mercury, in logical Virgo, and in a flowing, waxing trine to innovative Uranus (our inner Einstein), in pragmatic Taurus (10:10 am), it’s possible today that we will get a chance to see the sudden sprouting of some very cool ideas or insights that can help to shift things around for us in a very useful way (Virgo). Overall, this is an excellent day for brainstorming, in general, including evaluating/rethinking anything related to technology (Uranus) or quality control. Optimally, our ability to absorb anything more of a technical nature is also enhanced.

This may also be a very good time to look at or deal with our personal financial or career fitness (Uranus in Taurus) with an eye on how to shore it up, or improve it, over the long haul, as balancing Venus in organizing Virgo (the planetary ruler of materially-minded Taurus), is also forming a waning, harmonizing trine to Saturn in professionally-minded Capricorn (2:48 pm), with Saturn symbolizing the solidifying structure or foundation in our lives (Saturn also governs old age and retirement). Too, taking care of “unfinished business” first (such as paying off old debts) may be one of the best ways to forge ahead now.

Additionally, the Venus-Saturn energy can also make us more mindful of our duties and responsibilities to others. Occasionally, Venus-Saturn is also associated with the formation of “May-December” romances.

Favored Activities Today: Engaging in mentoring relationships; financial and/or retirement planning; joining clubs or organizations to enhance our professional standing or our standing in the community; redecorating to achieve more of a “minimalist effect.”

(Venus in Taurus quinqunx Jupiter Retrograde in Sagittarius)

With sweet, amiable Venus still deposited in stabilizing, enduring Taurus, and just coming off of a trine (yesterday) to cautious Saturn, in strategic Capricorn, having a sense of permanence or safety in relationships/money matters/or with possessions is something that is more paramount now for the ever smooth-functioning of our groovy psyches.

That is why today may require some extra finesse/discipline/innovativeness, on our part, in being able to concoct tasty lemonade from any of the sour lemons that may criss-cross our path now. Mainly referring here to placating, ‘big hip Jupiter’ in Sadge and his sudden, lusty, disruptive desire/need/vision to ‘fly the coop,’ so to speak, and take us along as willing hostages/subjects/participants on a decadent excursion to some exotic, faraway place. Or, wherever one can go to, for that matter, in which a person can part with considerable sums of cash/money/moolah in a blink of an eye! All experiences incurred, of course, from Jupiter’s perspective, for our own edification and/or glory so that we do not become too pot bound and shrivel up and die while we still have hefty mortgages and our kids’ college tuition, to pay off! 🙂

In a culture that is often obsessed with having more, more, more, it can sometimes be very challenging or uncomfortable for us to wrap our arms around the idea of less, less, less! Even though we may, conceivably, be forfeiting quality for quantity, in the process. But today, buckaroos, this may not exactly be the case because material girl Venus in sensual, bullish Taurus is forming a flowing trine to lean and mean Saturn (11:26 am), which is retrograde in utilitarian, pro-business mentality Capricorn. Meaning, or suggesting, Venus is more receptive now to ‘doing more with less’ if traveling lighter helps to solidify her queenly position on the throne of the highly coveted mountaintop in her particular locale. Yes, “giving up to move up!” could well be our noble battle cry for today.

Overall, Venus-Saturn energy tends to make us more cautious, reliable, and responsible in monetary matters as well as affairs of the heart. We are more value-minded or value-driven and thinking more in terms of longevity and endurability, instead of being appeased by quick fixes. It could also be that we derive more personal fulfillment or enjoyment now from immersion into our work/duties/craft/art. Too, because Saturn is retrograde, it’s possible that we are re-visiting or returning to something perceived to be more anchoring from the past now – may be a former relationship or a prior financial situation/scenario – with shining hopes, that by doing so, we will be creating more of a sense of security or stability for ourselves, in our present-day world. We also may be able to recognize or spot, now, the value, or the gift of something from our past/past experiences that we maybe did not fully appreciate or understand, until today. Thinking here, too, this could possibly relate to some previous advice or mentoring from someone we looked up to/or maybe still look up to (a Saturnian authority figure/parental figure).

Later this evening, intellectual Mercury in Gemini is also forming an awkward quinqunx aspect to obsessive, investigative Pluto, retrograde in Capricorn (11:13 pm), which could orient us to becoming more mentally fixated on certain events of our past, especially on those things which, perhaps, have never really been resolved or settled fully to our satisfaction. Although, ruminating upon those sorts of things now could also be a bit tricky or problematic, in terms of being able to positively add to our sense of well-being, as it may be harder for us to put a more objective or neutral face or spin on things now. This is partly because Mercury-Pluto energy tends to want to hone in on whatever is broken, taboo, or forbidden instead of on what is right and/or working in our lives. In other words, there is often more of a suspicious vibe at play when these two cosmic characters pair up.

We may also want to seek out unusual pursuits or amusements. Or learn new technology.

Lovable Venus is also trining anchoring Saturn (3:38 am EDT). This is normally a stabilizing influence for relationships and for helping to put our finances on solid footing. The Moon continues in sentimental Cancer beckoning us to connect with our roots, especially our familial roots. The Moon’s chilly square to Saturn (1:15 pm EST), however, may make us feel somewhat like an island.

Too, even though we may feel “cut off” doesn’t mean we have to stay in that mindset. Especially since we also have “Love Goddess” Venus forming a magical trine to stabilizer Saturn (8:35 pm EST), a classic astrological template for building “rock solid” relationships. With Venus-Saturn we tend to get more serious-minded (Saturn) about love and romance (Venus). The idea of commitment is more appealing, perhaps because Saturn governs the “security urge.”

On another level, Venus-Saturn can also be descriptive of “May-December” romances (Saturn rules older individuals). Possibly, too, there may be more of an inclination to seek out ties with older persons at this time because these persons may be perceived as a “safe harbor” for us.

Also, assertive Mars in dreamy Pisces is quinqunx Saturn (8:54 am EST). There is a tendency to “start and stop” things, or get curtailed by hurdles, instead of just following through. The best way to override this influence is to simply keep our eyes fixed on manifesting our daily intentions or short or long-term goals, while also holding ourselves accountable (Saturn). Saturn can challenge us to be self-disciplined.
