Cosmic Weather:

“In the age of the individuals’ liquidation, the question of individuality must be raised anew.” – Theodor W. Adorno

This Monday morning, Waxing Luna wraps up her stay in quirky, freedom-loving Aquarius, where the gravitational pull to dance or prance around to the beat of our own bongo drum can be pretty compelling and hard to resist! 🙂 Luna’s void of course phase – from 5:19 am to 12:35 pm – also favors finishing up old projects instead of starting anything new. This may also be a good period to update technology or our social media accounts,

The Moon’s entrance into sensitive, compassionate Pisces (12:36 pm) ideally helps to soften some of our rough edges. It is also a good time for doing bodywork or things like Tai Chi or yoga – anything that tends to connect us up with our inner world.

Vesta’s conjunction with Neptune (3:01 pm) – the planetary ruler of Pisces – may inspire a heavenly-type devotion to something we love.

“Your destiny is to fulfill those things upon which you focus most intently. So choose to keep your focus on that which is truly magnificent, beautiful, uplifting and joyful. Your life is always moving towards something.” – Ralph Marston

*All times EST

On This Day in History: On January 23, 1973, US President Richard Nixon announces an accord has been reached to end the Vietnam War.

Astrologically, that day, the Moon was in diplomatic Libra; agreement negotiator Mercury had just entered humanistic Aquarius at 0 degrees; warrior Mars in Sagittarius was separating from an opposition to contracting Saturn in Gemini, suggesting a cessation of hostilities; and expansive Jupiter – in government-ruling Capricorn – was exactly square to breakthrough Uranus, which was also deposited in peace-loving Libra, beside the Moon. Jupiter-Uranus aspects are sometimes associated with seismic type changes or developments in an effort to boldly turn things around.

Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.

Cosmic Weather:

“The first step towards true enlightenment is to lighten up on yourself.” – Bashar

Lots going on in the astrology world this week! – although it still may be a bit less hectic than last week – which saw the debut of the Winter Solstice, Jupiter’s ingress into Aries, and the Capricorn New Moon. This week’s highlights include Mercury and Venus’ meetup in Capricorn and Mercury’s stationing retrograde (start backing up your computer files!) – both events occurring on the 29th; the day before that, on the 28th, Venus will also sextile dreamy Neptune. Too, on New Year’s Day, Venus and Pluto will team up for their annual conjunction.

Today, the Waxing Crescent Moon will spend one more day in bohemian-style Aquarius, typically a time when we may feel much more inclined to ‘do our own thing’ as we set upon manifesting our New Moon intentions as the light of the Crescent Moon increases. However, with Luna forming a conjunction to more judgment-minded Saturn (1:19 pm), it is possible we could feel a bit emotionally conflicted regarding what we may want to do versus what we think we should be doing.

On another level, this lunar aspect may be a positive time to make some structural changes or alterations, especially perhaps finding a way to reduce any excesses or redundancies.

After the Moon-Saturn conjunction, Luna will also go void of course until its entrance into Pisces, tomorrow morning (the 27th) at 2:34 am. The Moon goes from Aquarius to Taurus this week.

*All times EST

On This Day in History:  On December 26, 1933, a patent for FM Radio was granted to American engineer Edwin Howard Armstrong.

Astrologically, that day, communicator Mercury in futuristic Sagittarius was exactly sextile expansive Jupiter in Libra, excellent for contractual matters; Jupiter also helps to expand or broaden the reach of things and FM radio pretty much ended up doing that, essentially eclipsing the stature of AM radio. Mercury was also trine inventive Uranus, in pioneering Aries, with Uranus also ruling broadcasting. Too, Jupiter and Uranus were in opposition to each other, at the time, often a boon for major discoveries or any type of technological advancements. The first walk on the Moon by astronauts occurred when Jupiter and Uranus were exactly conjunct in Libra.

Happy Kwanzaa and Happy Box Day! Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.

Astrology April 7, 2020: Mars Square Uranus, A Libra Full Moon

Cosmic Weather:

With impulsive Mars squaring rebellious Uranus, the planet of change (at 2:50 pm), it could very well seem like a bit of a roller-coaster ride for us today as the pace of our lives could suddenly quicken or be disrupted in some manner by this more high-voltage aspect. We also might be adding to the frenetic pace, ourselves, in the sense that we may suddenly be feeling more of a need now for freedom or liberation from the various perceived “confining elements” in our lives, during this highly uncharted period of time on our planet.

Fortunately, though, how we choose to respond to things is always in our control and, to that end, we are also, seemingly and thankfully, getting some timely assistance from the Universe now via intellectual Mercury’s sextile alignments with transformative Pluto (at 5:28 pm) and optimistic Jupiter (10:20 pm), aspects which can allow us to tap into, more effortlessly, the deeper meaning of things so that, ideally, we feel less daunted by any possible uncertainties or changes swirling around us, at present, in the outer realm.

Mercury-Pluto, in particular, can provide us with some very profound insights or wisdom bubbling up to us from our subconscious. We may also be more impacted by the power of word or speech now to turn our world around, including this possibly also being a time when we may feel more inclined or comfortable having very honest conversations on more intimate subjects.

Too, leave it to the “higher powers-that-be” to jampack way too much cosmic stuff into the confines of a single day for all of us to have to humbly deal with or sort out! 🙂 Not only do we have all of the aforementioned above going on, but we also have the biggest and brightest Full Moon of the year taking place tonight (at 10:35 pm). This so-called “Pink Moon” puts the self-assertive, independent Aries Sun opposite the more cooperative, relationship-focused Libra Moon, allowing us a chance to balance or integrate these two opposing forces/needs in some kind of satisfactory manner so, in a perfect world, we end up feeling more fully centered or at peace with ourselves. Full Moons also bring things (including our emotions) to a peak or culmination and can be special times of great inner clarity or awareness, although we may want to wait a few days before acting upon any of these newly-birthed realizations.

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.” Gilda Radner

*All times EDT.

Born On This Day: English poet William Wordsworth, in 1770. He became England’s poet laureate in 1843, a position he held until his death in 1850.

“Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be…” W.W.

Full Moon blessings to you! Hope it’s a good one! Be safe.

Astrology for July 31, 2015: A Full Moon in Aquarius

astrology july 31 2015, Full Moon in Aquarius 2015, Full Moon on July 31 2015, group causes, individuality, love, stepping outside our comfort zone, Venus moves retrograde into Leo July 31 2015

“To find out what is truly individual in ourselves, profound reflection is needed; and suddenly we realize how uncommonly difficult the discovery of individuality is.” Carl Jung

Today’s Energy:

There is a Full Moon in “avant-garde” Aquarius (6:43 am). This particular Full Moon is also termed a “Blue Moon” because it is the second Full Moon in a calendar month. Venus, the Goddess of love, also retrogrades back into “self-expressive” Leo, today, where it joins Jupiter, Mercury, and the Sun.

Full Moons provide us with more light by which to see, both symbolically and literally, with today’s Full Moon in Aquarius serving to spotlight our “individuality” – or what it is that sets us apart from the crowd. It is a wonderful time for us to cast an eye upon our special talents or gifts (Sun in Leo), and figure out how we can harness them more fully to make the unique contribution to the collective that only we can make (Moon in Aquarius). As Carl Jung notes above, excavating what is truly individual in us is often a complex pursuit that requires serious attention on our part, as well as plenty of patience and commitment. Most assuredly, however, this process is always worthwhile, especially as we begin to behold glimpses of our “unique, original mold” and are able to increasingly lay claim to it, creatively bringing it to life, in all of its glory, for whatever purpose it – we – were originally intended, by the powers that be. Too, we can always know whether we are on track with our purpose by the sense of passion that we feel inside ourselves. The more intellectually detached Aquarius energy that is highlighted now is also naturally drawn to this kind of personal observation or discovery, as it imparts a flair for analysis and experimentation.

Since the sign of Aquarius also symbolizes an individual’s immersion into a group – ideally, for the betterment of all – this Full Moon in Aquarius can also be a time when we seek out a tribe or network that is a good match for our personal values and beliefs, or that lines up with the special causes that we espouse or care so dearly about. Of course, we all know, too, that we can do much more collectively than we can on our own, which is perhaps why we have been wired to be such social creatures. So much of nature, of which we are but a small part, works together in unison to leave its mark.

Social Venus is also retrograding back into “theatrical” Leo, today, affording us a special chance to dance solo, for a while, to what makes our heart sing. With Venus retrograde, we continue to focus our attention on improving the quality of the intimate relationship that we have with ourselves, including perhaps rediscovering our values or discerning what it is that brings us the most joy or pleasure. “When a woman becomes her own best friend life is easier.” Diane von Furstenberg.

“I think the reward for conformity is that everyone likes you except yourself.” Rita Mae Brown

Uranus, the planet of individuality, independence, innovation and change stations retrograde today in “self-discovery” Aries – just a day after lovable Venus did the same thing in “refining” Virgo. With Uranus retrograde – an annual cycle that lasts for about five months – we’re sizing up, in part, some of our recent changes or actions to see how they’ve accommodated or matched who we truly are at our core. Too, we may want to reflect upon now how comfortable we typically are when it comes to embracing the whole notion of innovation or progressive change, in our lives.

Also, another area possibly up for consideration or review now is the matter of personal freedom or independence in our lives – just what does that mean to us and how important is it to us that we maintain a certain freedom of movement in our affairs? Many of us often say, for instance, that we really need to have our own freedom, our own space – especially in relationships; but then, at the end of the day, we often may find ourselves backpedaling on this issue because we discover that we also need to have a deep sense of connection with others – that, being alone and on our own, is not always as glamorous or wonderful as it’s sometimes cracked up to be.

On a collective level, since Uranus also governs such issues as equality and diversity, with Uranus retrograding now, we also may want to ponder or think about just how welcoming or accepting we have been – or tend to be – towards those persons who are perhaps different from us, who maybe come from different cultures, or possibly espouse different religions, values, etc. “A lot of different flowers make a bouquet.” – Muslim Origin

Uranus will be retrograde until December 25th.

This date in history: The United States Post Office was created in Philadelphia in 1775 under Benjamin Franklin. (At the time, Saturn in social Libra, symbolizing infrastructure or support, was harmoniously trining innovative Uranus in Gemini, the sign of the messenger. The formation of the post office, of course, made it possible for the public to enjoy greater written communication access to each other in a faster, more reliable way, with trusty Saturn putting a sturdy floor under a new “Uranian” way of doing business.)

“To be nobody but yourself in a world doing its best to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle any human can ever fight and never stop fighting.” – e. e. cummings

With the Moon’s entrance into “eclectic” Aquarius (7:10 am EST), it’s time to celebrate our own individuality and uniqueness. To reflect upon what it is that identifies us and sets us apart from others. Also, perhaps, to ponder upon the endless variation that exists all around us, not only in other people, but throughout all of nature.

What do you personally make of a system, a Universe, that is perpetually spawning so much diversity?

We have, in essence, a double-whammy of Aquarian energy at our disposal today with the Moon also sextiling innovative Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius (3:29 pm EST). Moon-Uranus is an excellent aspect for challenging the status quo, or for trying new approaches, particularly in a group setting. Although, with the Moon’s square to skeptical Saturn (4:10 pm EST), we may also need to be able to fully explain, in a flash, to the potential naysayers, the wisdom or utility of our ways. “A man always has two reasons for doing anything: a good reason and the real reason.” J.P. Morgan

The Sun shifts into “progressive, individualistic” Aquarius today, providing us with a template for behavior that is more inclusive and accepting of other’s differences and also more experimental and questioning in its mindset. Romantic Venus’s sextile aspect with ”transforming” Pluto, the ruler of our subconscious, also paves the way for us to gain fresh insight and deeper understanding into our relationships.

COSMIC WATCH

“Action conquers fear.” Peter Nivio Zarlenga

The Moon’s ingress into pioneering Aries (4:24 am EDT) stokes our desire for new adventures. The Moon’s conjunction with change-agent Uranus (1:24 pm EDT) also acts to propel us into the future and potentially provides us with more of a platform to “do our own thing,” which the Aries Moon is already very receptive to doing. Rebel Uranus is associated with individuality and non-conformity. It encourages us not to render cookie-cutter responses, so this alignment can be very refreshing and rejuvenating for us, if we are but willing to be our true, authentic selves.

Later on, possible resistance from others to our plans, in the guise of the Moon’s square to controlling Pluto (5:08 pm EDT), in authoritative Capricorn, may have us wanting to retreat back to our Cancerian Sun “crab shells.” This may, indeed, be a very good time to go inside ourselves and examine our behavior and see if there is maybe something that we can either fix or purge (Pluto) that will help us to reunite more with our own sense of power, so we will feel less threatened or bothered by things external to us in the future.

Moon-Pluto can make us stronger by eliminating what is weaker or dead weight within us. Pluto governs the subconscious, and Pluto is always very ready to confer upon us deep insight, if we are willing to work with it. Moon-Pluto can be a very effective cathartic or healing agent. This configuration is also linked with actual surgery.

What would you like to reform or change about yourself? Anything?

Celebrity News:  Actor George Clooney and girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis have reportedly split up after a two-year courtship. George (born 5/6/61) has transiting Saturn in Libra in his 7th house of partnerships now opposing his “love goddess” Venus in Aries in his first house of new beginnings.

This is, unfortunately, a textbook divorce or separation aspect. This is partly because Venus-Saturn often tends to make us feel “cut off” from others (Saturn inhibits our expression). Then, of course, when we get to feeling this way, we often end up erecting even more walls around us, which is not favorable or conducive for romance.

Too, this Venus-Saturn aspect can also simply indicate, that we have outgrown a relationship and that it is, indeed, time to move on, as Saturn does equate with natural endings and Venus rules relationships. Sometimes, too, with this influence, our ambitions and goals for ourselves, which are also denoted by Saturn, come in conflict with our relationship needs and we have no choice but to make certain adjustments in our lives. Either certain goals and ambitions go, or the relationships go, etc. Too, I am only talking in a general sense here about this aspect. I have no idea what, in reality, led to George’s breakup.

With that said, George’s horoscope also suggests that he tends to be a very private and emotionally guarded person, to begin with, as he has his Moon, ruling his feelings and women, tightly conjunct his Saturn in Capricorn, the sign that Saturn rules. In general, this more complex configuration makes it easier for a person to live by themselves (bachelor), as they naturally don’t feel so compelled to share their innermost feelings with others. A large part of why we have romantic relationships is to share what we are feeling inside.

Plus, being a famous actor, he does have ample opportunity to vent his feelings on a world stage, vicariously playing different roles, and that may be enough emoting for him. Too, being so famous, he also probably needs to be a little defensive, at times, with others, to curb exploitation, gossip, etc. At any rate, I would think that Moon conjunct Saturn would despise living a fish bowl type of existence, and would vie for as much privacy as possible. George does have his assertive Mars in colorful, theatrical Leo, though, too, so he does know how to confidently handle himself and his affairs, and people will like him regardless. That planetary influence helps to make him very charismatic, especially with Mars in his fifth house of self-expression.

George’s Venus in flirtatious, “conquest-oriented” Aries, also suggests that he requires plenty of freedom in romance, and that he also ideally does best with a partner who is very independent like himself. I also, unfortunately, don’t have Elisabetta’s birth chart to see what she has going on at the moment. Anyway, I wish both of them well. Breakups are never any fun.

Enjoy your Thursday! Too, don’t be afraid to “do your own thing!” Remember, we are receiving that high-voltage prompting from Moon-Uranus today. We may even want to put on the hippie beads and bell bottoms. 🙂
