Cosmic Weather:

“It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through.” – Zig Ziglar

This Wednesday – with Luna remaining in trailblazing, initiating Aries all day – and also fresh off the heels of the gangbuster Aries New Moon yesterday, the hustle and bustle in the heavens continues head on today – suggesting the same for our humble earthling lives.

Of course, it may also possibly help out our personal cause now a bit – in terms of achieving any long-term success – if we have at least some clear idea, notion, or vision of where we want to go and what we intend to do once we get there; though, on the flip side, some behavioral researchers are also saying now that – in some instances – just taking action in a new direction, without prior prepping or planning, might also end up being a winning strategy for us as well, as it – at least – gets us out there, soaking up a new environment, and that that real-life immersion can potentially be very helpful in illuminating for us what our next steps should likely be, on a practical level – especially since many people seemingly discover their true calling or sense of purpose often by accident in the course of pursuing something else.

This latter approach to generating new beginnings, new experiences, new growth also seems to be a pretty compatible fit for the more perceived spontaneous, irrepressible nature of Aries energy itself, which is often depicted as tending to want to throw everything up against the proverbial wall in hopes that something will eventually stick.

Too, it appears that we may be keeping our fingers crossed that something really big will be sticking today as the risk-taking Aries Moon conjuncts gargantuan Jupiter, later this afternoon (4:17 pm). Moon-Jupiter potentially provides us with whopping doses of momentum to advance our agendas, as well as heightened self-confidence, especially in adventurous Aries. Of course, on the shadow side, the possible risk with Jupiter is that we do too much, overestimate our capabilities, or act too impulsively.

“All the world is a birthday cake, so take a piece, but not too much.” – George Harrison

Today’s Question(s): If you were to “go big” today, what might that look like or entail for you – and what area of your life would you likely be focusing on?

*All times EDT

On This Day in History: On March 22, 1933, President Roosevelt (FDR) makes beer and wine legal in the US as initiating Mars, in health and habit-forming Virgo, applies to a conjunction to substance-ruling Neptune; Mars tends to energize whatever it is aligned with. Meanwhile, expansive Jupiter in Virgo was also separating from a conjunction to Neptune while Luna was deposited in change-oriented, freedom-loving Aquarius.

Born On This Day: Canadian actor William Shatner, best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk in the science fiction television series Star Trek (1966–69) and in several Star Trek films. Shatner is turning 92 today.

“What does God need with a starship?” – William Shatner.

Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well.

Cosmic Weather:

With the Scorpio New Moon intention-setting now in the rearview mirror, today’s First-Quarter Moon (7:46 am) poises us to spring into action to make our desired goals a reality. This Half-Moon in Aquarius also equips us to act with greater objectivity or detachment that can aid us in seeing our way ahead more clearly.

Luna’s monthly conjunction with expansive Jupiter (2:52 pm) may also make it easier to connect or partner with others who have similar visions for the collective or the community that we do. Moon-Jupiter also tends to fill us with more optimism. General Colin Powell once said, “Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier.” While American philosopher William James stated, “Pessimism leads to weakness, optimism to power.”

How do you tend to see things? Is the glass half-full or half-empty?

*All times EST

On This Day in History: On November 11, 1919, Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day,” the first anniversary of the end of World War I. The US Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and November 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. (History.com)

Astrologically, on 11/11/19, Mars (which rules soldiers and the military) was in service-oriented Virgo and one degree separating from an exact, waning sextile to the authoritative Sun in Scorpio (the sign ruling death and rebirth). Intellectual Mercury was also in philosophical Sagittarius and exactly square to serious Saturn in Virgo, an influence that can make us more inclined to reflect upon or think about our past wounds or sorrows.

Born on This Day: Late Russian novelist, Fyodor Dostoevsky. He wrote in Crime and Punishment:

“The darker the night, the brighter the stars,
The deeper the grief, the closer is God!”

Hope it’s a good one! Please be safe and well. Also want to say a big heartfelt “thank you” to all of our brave veterans.

Astrology December 26, 2019: Solar Eclipse in Capricorn

Cosmic Weather:

Today’s Solar Eclipse in “mature, parental” Capricorn, at 4 degrees of the sign (12:13 am), potentially provides us with a realistic snapshot or assessment of our wondrous, enviable lives as well as hopefully supplying us with some practical, hands-on Saturnian wisdom on how to best nudge ourselves forward, in 2020, so we can make it to the top of that glorious, ever-beckoning mountaintop. Capricorn is a very outwardly ambitious sign keenly interested in leaving its industrious mark upon the world.

This is an excellent lunation period for our annual goal-setting, taking inventory of our strengths and weaknesses, eyeing our responsibilities or duties, evaluating and or restructuring our commitments, including deciding what it is that we may need to phase out now in order to forge ahead in the exciting new decade that is, already, less than a week away.

What’s also great about today’s Solar Eclipse (which basically acts as an “amped-up” New Moon) is that it’s conjunct propitious Jupiter, the planet of growth and opportunity. It’s also forming a flowing trine to non-conforming Uranus RX, which symbolizes innovation and change, and is deposited in materially-minded Taurus. These two harmonizing aspects will ideally help us to feel more optimistic or enthused about our future (including our careers and finances) and also possibly more willing to make any necessary creative alterations so that we can re-structure our playing field in such a way that our individuality and authenticity shine through in a manner that feels very liberating to us. If we’ve been feeling stifled or stuck, this lunation will hopefully help us to turn a new, progressive corner. New Moons are linked, as well, with embarking upon new beginnings.

This is also a perfect period for instituting positive daily practices or habits that can, over the long-term, allow us to become more self-actualized, or more complete versions of our best selves. With the more serious “nose to the grindstone” Capricorn energy, we’re naturally focused now on doing the requisite inner and outer work that’s needed in achieving self-mastery, which is really, of course, part of a lifelong process that we gradually attain in stages, although since eclipses can sometimes “speed things up,” it’s very possible that we’re also able to make a giant leap forward now, at least in terms of expanding our consciousness, where it basically all begins, anyway.

“Let him who would move the world first move himself.” Socrates

Generally, eclipses and eclipse points are also felt or remain charged for up to six months. Since July of 2018, we’ve been experiencing eclipses along the Cancer-Capricorn axis, with a Lunar Eclipse in familial Cancer, slated for January 10th, which is two days before the exact conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn.

Some questions that we may also want to ask ourselves now with this Solar Eclipse in Capricorn: How might I be able to conserve more of my time, energy, and resources and yet still get ahead? What one thing could I achieve, in the outer world, that would greatly add to my sense of personal fulfillment? How might I view my perceived personal restrictions or limitations as gifts or opportunities? If I could wave a magic wand and eliminate my fears, how would my present life be different?

Numerologically, there’s also a lot of intensity to the day with it being an “8” day (the 26th). Often on “8” days, we’re more inclined to face down our fears, particularly if they’re getting in the way of what we’re wanting to achieve. There can also be more of an inner desire now for wielding our power or influence. I also like that the Solar Eclipse is occurring at “4” degrees of Capricorn, which is a strong, solid foundational number, really helping us to get rooted for “2020,” which is also a “4” year.

*All times EST.

Born On This Day: American writer Henry Miller, in 1891, who once quipped: One’s destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things.

Happy Eclipse Blessings to you!

Cosmic Weather:

“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” J.M. Barrie

We kick off the work week laden with a fair measure of wanderlust in our sneakers with the waning Moon in “let me gallop alone in the rat race” Sagittarius.

The Moon makes an early morning square to “beam me up” Neptune in transcendental Pisces (6:31 am). Then around lunchtime (1:04 pm), Luna merges with oversizing Jupiter (potentially a headache for the kitchen staff as all the offerings at the buffet bar, no doubt, will suddenly disappear).

Anyway, this theme of excess, pretty much pervades the rest of the day, as self-indulgent Venus in throaty Taurus also forms a sesquiquadrate aspect (11:19 pm) to jolly Jupiter. Of course, this day can also have a lot of positivity to it as Venus-Jupiter together can make us feel more optimistic and playful.

The Moon also goes VOC after its midday conjunction with Jupiter so it’s best to put the finishing touches on your magnifico creations instead of birthing anything new. The Nightime Goddess enters lean, mean Capricorn, early tomorrow morning (3:56 am), when it will be time, again, to crack the whip!

The Sun is also spending its last full day in builder/banker Taurus today, for the year, so there could be a final push to “get ‘er done,” especially good for attending to stuff that will make us feel more anchored in the world.

*All times EDT

On This Day in History: On May 20, 1873, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis patent the first blue jeans with copper rivets.

The astrology that day: Contractually-minded Mercury was separating from an exact conjunction to Fashionista Venus in form-fitting Taurus. Pioneering Mars was also in design-oriented Libra and forming an exact quinqunx to the empowering Sun in “let’s make some money, honey” Taurus.

love, Mars conjunct the Midheaven, moon conjunct jupiter, Moon in Sagittarius, Mueller Report, President Trump horoscope, venus enters pisces, venus in aquarius

Cosmic Weather:

“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.” Jane Austen

Wow! So cool how Jane Austen put that! Very simple concept, but powerful. Not surprisingly, Austen’s lovable Venus was also in all-or-nothing Scorpio in her natal horoscope. Of course, too, with my slower, duller, warped Mercury in Taurus brain, after I read that wonderful quote, this morning, I must admit, I right away had to fixate, quite literally, on an image, in my mind, of what appeared to be a younger man dressed, business casual, with his body split into two distinct halves: the top frontal half and the bottom frontal half. As far as I can tell, both parts were still connected. Maybe glued together? Pathetic, isn’t it? Really sick… Perhaps a second cup of coffee will help to get the blood flowing, eventually, to my neocortex region… 🙂

So Venus exits friendly, detached, bohemian Aquarius, this afternoon, and dives into the compassionate waters of Pisces (3:43 pm), where she’ll remain until April 20th. Venus is exalted in Neptune-ruled Pisces, the sign associated with divinity or transcendence. With unconditional love. Venus in Pisces can help to, overall, soften the tone or tenor of our relationships, in the next few weeks, and attune us more to the feeling side of others now. One possible pitfall, however, with Venus here, is that it can also fill us with more of a desire for the elusive, or for what is just beyond our reach. Potentially resulting in our not being happy with what it is that we do have. On another level, Venus’ passage through Pisces in an excellent time to work on issues such as self-acceptance and self-love.

“The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.” – C. G. Jung

The Moon also remains in ‘world-traveler’ Sagittarius, today, and forming a conjunction to its ruler, Jupiter, later tonight (10:37 pm). Ideal time for sightseeing, writing, marketing and sales related activities. Our mood tends to be more upbeat and outgoing. Inspirational.

*All time EDT.

Famous People with Venus in Pisces: Michelle Obama, Ali MacGraw, Henry James, Helen Gurley Brown, Betty Ford, Marvin Gaye, Emmylou Harris, Hugh Hefner.

In the News: Interestingly enough, the very day that Special Counsel Robert Mueller delivered his completed report to Attorney General Barr, last week, transiting Mars was exactly conjunct President Trump’s midheaven or career house, a sector in the horoscope which also governs a person’s public reputation or standing. Warrior Mars passing through one’s Midheaven, which happens approximately every two years, is often a time when a person kicks it into high gear and really goes to battle for themselves in the public or professional arena. Vigorously defending or detailing their work record and or accomplishments, especially if they’ve maybe been feeling that they’ve been under attack, which, of course, Trump did. Also, quite notably, as Mars entered Trump’s career house it was also forming waning sextiles to both his soothing, supportive Venus (10th house ruler) and ambitious Saturn, both conjunct in self-protective Cancer in his 11th house of hopes and wishes. Mars sextile Saturn is often a positive payback period for us, when our previous efforts are rewarded or solidified.

The last couple days, too, transiting Mars, in persistent Taurus, has also been exactly square to Trump’s natal Mars, which is in bravado Leo at 26 degrees. His natal Mars is also conjunct his 29 degree Leo Ascendant or First House, which rules new beginnings. A potentially highly-charged period for him, where he personally seems to be more defiant and energetic than ever, and taking a victory lap. In case you’ve also been held captive by aliens, for the past few days, and missed it, the Mueller Report reportedly found no collusion with Russia on the part of the Trump campaign during the presidential election. It did not render an opinion, however, with respect to whether there was any obstruction of justice committed. The Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General, however, both concluded that Trump shouldn’t be charged with obstruction. Of course, not everyone agrees here, and the Democrats reportedly want to see the full report for themselves by April 2nd. The very day that manuscript-ruling Mercury and ambiguous Neptune meet up again, for the third and final time, in fishy Pisces. The plot thickens! To be continued! 🙂

Hope you enjoy your Tuesday!

COSMIC WATCH:

The Moon’s foray into practical, earthy Taurus (9:36 am EST) makes today an excellent day to attend to money and possession matters. The Moon is considered to be exalted when it is in Taurus, a sign that is ruled by sweet Venus. Too, the Moon is making its monthly conjunction with fortuitous Jupiter (11:38 am EST) helping to put us in a more positive, generous frame of mind. Moon-Jupiter is often a very expansive influence that can align us with fresh opportunities.

Later, the Moon’s trine to transforming Pluto (10:39 pm EST) serves to heighten our emotions and passions. This is also a very good time to de-clutter, if we are so inclined. Too, when we rid ourselves of what is outworn or no longer needed, this allows for new pleasures and experiences to come into our lives.

COSMIC WATCH:

Passions may surge today with sweet Venus’s sextile to intense Pluto. This is also a good aspect for healing or rehabilitating a relationship, due to the regenerative nature of Pluto. We do also tend to be in more of a commitment mode as the Sun is making its annual conjunction to dutiful, serious Saturn, in relationship Libra, formidably reminding us of our responsibilities and obligations.  Sun-Saturn also helps to align our consciousness with our long-term goals or intentions for ourselves.

Intellectual Mercury additionally enters probing Scorpio today, providing more depth of focus and investigative flair to our reasoning ability. Our words may be a bit more measured now with Mercury here. On the shadow side, there can also be more of a propensity for biting sarcasm, especially when we are feeling threatened. Mercury will stay in Scorpio until November 2.

The Moon will be in practical Taurus all day, the money sign. It will also be forming its monthly conjunction to expansive Jupiter (12:25 pm EDT), which may trigger some new opportunities for increasing our net worth and or sphere of influence in the material realm. The Venus sextile Pluto aspect may also help to put a little more jingle in our pocket, as Venus governs money and possessions, as the natural ruler of Taurus. It may be an especially good day to seek out financial and or investment advice, as Pluto’s ray is very good for adding extra insight. Pluto also symbolizes mega-wealth and governs debt and credit matters.
