Cosmic Weather:

The nurturing Moon, now in its Waning Gibbous phase, remains in optimistic Sagittarius, the sign of the archer, during the day time, giving us yet another chance to buoyantly re-charge our emotional batteries, in part, by seeking out activities or outlets that supply us with a sense of higher purpose or meaning, or that speak to our noble dreams in some fashion. Later, when Luna moves into practical Capricorn (at 8:05 pm), we are more focused on our duties and or the logistical end of things, the specific “how-to” of manifesting our intentions, especially those that we set at the New Moon in Aries, on March 22nd, that are perhaps still lingering around us like a patch of thinning clouds on a distant horizon. One of the inherent powers of a crusty Capricorn Moon is that it is an excellent determiner of what has real viability, and what does not.

Cosmic Weather:

With the waning Moon traversing through futuristic Sagittarius, all day, and thinker Mercury also joining the Sun and Chiron in trail-blazing Aries (where it will remain until the 27th), our thoughts and emotions tend to be much more focused now on finding a way to determinedly “get on with our lives,” as both Aries and Sagittarius are direct-acting fire signs that prefer to take the lead in things and do not take too kindly to being held back by perceived or real-world restrictions or limitations.

Mercury in Aries can also be highly resourceful, energetic and passionate about making discoveries and coming up with brand new solutions to problems. On the shadow side, with Mercury here in the sign of the ram, there’s sometimes more of a tendency to be argumentative, to act too rashly or impulsively on our ideas, or in ways that are too self-centered.

Today, though, as Mercury flits into “start-me up” Aries (at 12:48 am) it is also going to be having a more serious, weighted discussion with taskmaster Saturn, in detached Aquarius (via a sextile aspect at 7:58 pm). Saturn will likely be admonishing the Winged Messenger to make sure, among other things, that he has his attractive facial mask properly attached, behind his ears, before he formally joins Mick Jagger on stage. 🙂

Actually, this Mercury-Saturn sextile is also possibly an opportunity for us to channel our own “inner Einstein” in the sense that Albert Einstein (who had a Pisces Sun) also had his brilliant Mercury in the sign of Aries and in close conjunction with Saturn in Aries; Mercury-Saturn aspects are often associated with a more disciplined mind and deep powers of concentration. Additionally, Mercury sextile Saturn allows us to effectively draw on our past experiences in decision-making. It is also an excellent influence to consult with trusted advisors or with mentors we admire or look up to.

With impulsive Mars squaring rebellious Uranus, the planet of change (at 2:50 pm), it could very well seem like a bit of a roller-coaster ride for us today as the pace of our lives could suddenly quicken or be disrupted in some manner by this more high-voltage aspect. We also might be adding to the frenetic pace, ourselves, in the sense that we may suddenly be feeling more of a need now for freedom or liberation from the various perceived “confining elements” in our lives, during this highly uncharted period of time on our planet.

Fortunately, though, how we choose to respond to things is always in our control and, to that end, we are also, seemingly and thankfully, getting some timely assistance from the Universe now via intellectual Mercury’s sextile alignments with transformative Pluto (at 5:28 pm) and optimistic Jupiter (10:20 pm), aspects which can allow us to tap into, more effortlessly, the deeper meaning of things so that, ideally, we feel less daunted by any possible uncertainties or changes swirling around us, at present, in the outer realm.

Mercury-Pluto, in particular, can provide us with some very profound insights or wisdom bubbling up to us from our subconscious. We may also be more impacted by the power of word or speech now to turn our world around, including this possibly also being a time when we may feel more inclined or comfortable having very honest conversations on more intimate subjects.

Too, leave it to the “higher powers-that-be” to jampack way too much cosmic stuff into the confines of a single day for all of us to have to humbly deal with or sort out! 🙂 Not only do we have all of the aforementioned above going on, but we also have the biggest and brightest Full Moon of the year taking place tonight (at 10:35 pm). This so-called “Pink Moon” puts the self-assertive, independent Aries Sun opposite the more cooperative, relationship-focused Libra Moon, allowing us a chance to balance or integrate these two opposing forces/needs in some kind of satisfactory manner so, in a perfect world, we end up feeling more fully centered or at peace with ourselves. Full Moons also bring things (including our emotions) to a peak or culmination and can be special times of great inner clarity or awareness, although we may want to wait a few days before acting upon any of these newly-birthed realizations.

With so much uncertainty and disruption presently swirling around us, it’s pretty easy to become emotionally overwhelmed or to feel a bit more anxious, in general, about our daily lives. That’s why it’s also perhaps more important than ever to treat ourselves and others with special kid gloves now, if we can, which is what the more “humanistic” Mars-Neptune energy, today, ideally helps us to achieve.

This more “ego-subduing” influence generally raises our levels of sensitivity, caring, and compassion. It can also serve to remind us that, no matter what, “we’re all in this together,” (Neptune in Pisces) – even though we may also have to (ironically) erect some boundaries between ourselves and others temporarily now (Mars in Capricorn), so as to keep those bonds intact in the future.

Mars-Neptune energy often marks a time when we’re called upon to make personal sacrifices for the welfare of others or the collective.

This more “otherworldly” aspect can also be positive for such things as self-reflection, meditation, yoga, or breathwork.

Too, the “permeable” Pisces Sun’s sextile to “controlling” Pluto, in structuring Capricorn, once again, seems to be spotlighting for us now, among other things, an ever-growing awareness or consensus of the need to take more extreme measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 (Pisces rules viruses) and how these overtures are dramatically working to reshape (Pluto) our world, at least in the short-term.

On the plus side, it’s also an excellent planetary influence for retooling the approaches that we take for dealing with issues as it can provide us with greater clarity or insight.

Also, expansive Jupiter’s applying conjunction to Pluto continues to showcase the enormous volume of resources and actions that are being marshaled by many governments and businesses (Capricorn) and other entities, such as hospitals (Pisces) to deal with all the ramifications of this generational health crisis.

On a a more personal level, Sun-Pluto energy can mark a time of profound inner renewal. It’s also a great day for any purging, recycling, or refurbishing projects.

While it may be a bit of stretch, during these more challenging times, to envision jolly Santa on his sleigh descending upon us with a giant bag of goodies, nevertheless we still might be treated to the next best thing today via the compassionate Pisces Sun’s sextile to philanthropical Jupiter, the planet that is often billed as the “Cosmic Santa” (8:27 am).

This forward-thrusting Sun-Jupiter aspect ideally inspires us to envision and plan for a brighter tomorrow, in part, by generously sowing seeds of hope or encouragement, or by diligently exercising or adhering to our faith in ourselves or a higher power. Jupiter rules the visionary sign of Sagittarius, which is archetypally represented by the archer, who enthusiastically aims his bow and arrow at the stars.

Today is an especially auspicious time to be led by our curiosity or that more fluid aspect of our Being that is open or receptive to discovery or new possibilities. We may be feeling now more of a tug inside to include our dreams, hopes, or spiritual perspectives into our real-world objectives (Jupiter sextile Neptune at 10:56 am) – even though the full implementation on how to practically do all this may not be completely apparent to us yet. Fortunately, Jupiter and Neptune will be aligning twice more, this year (in July and October), so, hopefully, we should be able to put this thing in the bag!

Generally, the Jupiter-Neptune energy is wonderful for doing any kind of intuitive, creative, or charitable work. We may also want to pay closer attention to any synchronicities going on around us now as they could be very revealing and also play a pivotal part in helping us to more intentionally carve out our future path (or to hook up to our soul’s destiny).

Jupiter-Neptune can often feel very magical in how it plays out. It’s like the veil between the world of matter and spirit is lifted now, and we can catch glimpses of the Great Beyond!

Tarot Card For The Day: The Six of Swords. This suggests both a cycle of completion and moving on or a moving forward. While this card usually denotes progress, we still may have to find a way to manage some residual doubts or fears about the future based upon the experiences of our recent past. Numerology For The Day: Today seems extra special ( extra magical!) with it being the 20th day of the second (or “02” month) in the “perfect-vision” year of 2020. We have a “quadrupling” of twos and zeroes.

With Luna shifting into professionally ambitious Capricorn (at 5:37 am) and then conjuncting assertive Mars (at 8:16 am), we may feel a bit like we have to take the world by storm, this morning.

Also, a waning lunar trine to progressive Uranus in Taurus (at 11:45 am) may elevate our receptivity to incorporating new methods or ideas, experimenting with novel ways of money management, or perhaps motivate us to examine different kinds of investment strategies.

This is also the last day for the ego-oriented Sun’s annual tour through avant-guard Aquarius, as it will shift into compassionate Pisces, very late tonight (11:57 pm). It will remain in the sign of the fishes, until March 19th.

With Pisces also being the last sign of the zodiac, it’s a little like we’ve seen it all, done it all, and now we’re simply ready, at this point, to pull the shade down on the whole world so as to contemplate, for a while, What the heck does it all mean? 🙂

On This Day in History: On February 18, 1930, U.S. astronomer Clyde Tombaugh discovers Pluto while working as a researcher for the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona. Tombaugh was hired to perform a systematic search for a trans-Neptunian planet (also called Planet X), which had been predicted by Percival Lowell and William Pickering. (Wikipedia)

In the heavens, that day, we had “premier” energy for making exciting “cosmic” discoveries: Pioneering Mars was transiting Aquarius at 9 degrees (the zodiacal sign which rules astronomy and astrology) and exactly sextile to breakthrough Uranus in new beginnings Aries (the two planets were actually in mutual reception with each other). Pluto, at the time, was retrograde and at 17 degrees of Cancer.
