COSMIC WATCH:

While we all desire certainty in our lives, to some degree, with the Moon in inquisitive Gemini now we are also attracted to the world of the unknown, analogous perhaps to periodically wanting to visit a new vacation site to stretch our experiences. Too, when we journey to new places, we often have a sense of wonderment and excitement about our surroundings, which can be very invigorating for us. So, courting a sense of adventure, and being open to surprises, may be especially what we want to strive for today with the Moon in the sign of the curious twins.

Gemini is also a very interactive sign and with the Gemini Moon making harmonious aspects to both the Sun and Mercury we have ideal energy for stimulating conversation, along with taking action to expand our circle of influential acquaintances. “The quality of your life is the quality of your relationships.” – Anthony Robbins

Intellectual Mercury’s sextile to “radical, innovative” Uranus is also a boon for shifting our perspective and helping us arrive at new solutions. COSMIC WATCH:

Mental Mercury, at the end of pragmatic Capricorn, squares cautious Saturn this morning before shifting into curious Aquarius later today. While Mercury-Saturn can add seriousness and depth of focus to our perceptions, it is an aspect that is often linked with more fear-based thinking and skepticism.

One way to turn Mercury-Saturn into a possible “win-win” situation for us may be to ask ourselves, what are our fears or more rigid views on matters trying to teach us now about ourselves that we may be able to flip/transmute into something that is more positive or empowering?

That said, Mercury’s shift into airy Aquarius (1:12 pm) – where it will stay until February 14 – may make it easier for us to cop a more detached mindset in which our options can be viewed more neutrally.

Luna also will be leaving Pisces for initiating Aries this afternoon (1:29 pm), potentially priming us for action and adventure.

COSMIC WATCH:

The New Moon in “friendly, offbeat” Aquarius presents new opportunities for growing our friendships, widening our social circle, involving ourselves with humanitarian pursuits. We may also want to do something exciting and different today that we have not done before.

Motivator Mars, the planet of action, is also stationing retrograde in analytical Virgo. This signals a period of review regarding what we have spearheaded or initiated in the last few months. Too, it could be that some of us may be feeling a loss of momentum or enthusiasm now for certain projects in our lives. It may be that we need to revisit whether we should continue on with these things, re-assessing their payoff for us. We will also want to check to see what house (or area of life) that Mars is moving through in our personal chart, as that is where we will likely be needing to temporarily pause or reset matters. Mars will be retrograde until April 13th.

COSMIC WATCH:

Some of us may feel like we are sputtering around in the darkness today, weighed down by our burdens and responsibilities, and also by our past (Sun square Saturn). However, when we remember that all we have to do is metaphorically “flip a switch” inside, (i.e. shift our thinking), suddenly a new, illuminated reality can begin to emerge for us at any moment. Hopefully, a brighter reality with more open doors. Sun-Saturn is often a timely period for seriously assessing our current lot and weighing our future possibilities.

The Moon in “big picture” Sagittarius today also encourages us to prolifically wish upon a star, regardless of how dim or bright we perceive our present situation to be.

Life Coach, Martha Beck, wrote a best-selling book entitled, Steering by Starlight, in which she discusses hooking up with your own “North Star” within. The inspiring North Star concept reminds me of the visionary Sagittarius Moon at her best. We are thought to be wanting so much to believe in the dream when the Moon is in this sign. Yet, with the Sun-Saturn energy, we may also be needing to refine that dream at least a tad today. Or perhaps be willing to adjust our steering to get to it. 🙂

Occasionally, with the Sun-Saturn aspect (exact today), we decide to let go of our old agendas, old goals, and choose to move into another direction; sometimes we reposition ourselves after seeing the inevitable writing on the walls. For instance, this morning, the 137-year-old Kodak Corporation, also filed for bankruptcy protection after fiscally struggling for the past several years.
