COSMIC WATCH:

We close out the year with the Moon in playful Leo all day, a seemingly perfect backdrop for our NYE celebrations. Plato once said that, “You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.”

Intellectual Mercury also shifts into ambitious Capricorn today (9:03 am EST). If there’s a way to shatter that glass ceiling, chances are good that we’re going to find it now in the weeks ahead. Mercury will be in Capricorn until January 19.

Enterprising Mars sextiling futuristic Uranus tonight (9:31 pm EST) also helps us to get more excited about the positive changes that we envision making for ourselves in 2013, and the unique contributions that only we can offer up to the collective. This Mars-Uranus aspect is a very progressive influence that really helps us to think outside the proverbial box. It also is good for working with others on group projects and for involvement with humanitarian concerns.

It’s likely that we will also want to feed our heads and expand our perceptions and experiences today as intellectual Mercury conjuncts the brilliant Sun in inquiring, curious Gemini. Mercury is also sextile Uranus which helps to foster more original insights. Mercury-Uranus is a very inventive influence. It’s very good for brainstorming and tending to old problems in new ways. Our intuitive capacities may also be sharpened with this aspect. We may additionally hear things today that have the impact of helping to radically shift our perspective. This is an excellent day to learn new technology. Or to read about or discuss science and innovation.

With analytical Mercury square fantasy Neptune today there can be a tendency to gloss over the facts. Or substitute fancies for facts. Sometimes with this influence information is also withheld from us, for one reason or another. Or, we are the one who is doing the withholding. On the shadow side, Neptune is linked with deception, including the self-generated kind.

Some strategies we may want to employ now to avert any potential communication snafus include: asking for clarification of statements made in conversation; repeating back what we thought was said; not making any assumptions; and adhering only to the facts of matters.

We may also want to check with how things are resonating for us on a gut level, as Neptune does govern our psychic impressions, which may be more activated now. On another level, Mercury-Neptune is excellent for creative projects that draw upon our imagination.

The Sun’s empowering trine to transformational Pluto also puts the possibility of metamorphosis on our path. It additionally helps us to go in-depth with matters and it is also associated with creating more transparency.

How might it be in your best interests to be more open or transparent? Also, what might you want to remake or overhaul now?

BTW, when we had this same Sun-Pluto trine last year, President Obama released the “long-form” of his birth certificate, which certified his birth in the state of Hawaii. This was in response to ongoing accusations from some Republicans, including Donald Trump, that he was not born in the United States.

The Moon in “self-protective” Cancer the Crab may tempt us to retreat back inside our cozy little shells, if we sense that the vibes around us are not supportive. Cancer is a very intuitive sign. Lovable Venus also opposes chilly Saturn, so it may be that some of us may be feeling a bit more cut off from others today, especially if we choose to focus on what’s not working in our relationships instead of concentrating on what’s going right.
