Cosmic Weather:

“Early Christmas Day there’s a colorful, roaring Leo Moon and gift wrap and ribbon could be flying all over the place in a dashing race to open up our gifts and see what Santa’s left us under the tree. Of course, those of us who have been naughty this past year may be dramatically licking our wounds now, in real Leo “drama queen” style, silently vowing to be nicer next year, so we won’t, once again, have to face the utter, abject humiliation and suffer the complete loss of pride of “zero gifts” from Santa. The most devastating personal blow here, of course, being: No George Clooney under the tree!!!

Oh, the problematic joy of Christmas Day!

When the Moon enters practical Virgo (10:15 am EST), the cosmic energy around us becomes much more serviceable and manageable. We are even able to somehow miraculously endure being holed up with oddball relatives for hours on end, with no chance for a quick escape. 🙂

Later, the Moon’s harmonious trines to both the warming Sun (4:57 pm EST) and transforming Pluto (6:49 pm EST) help to foster deep feelings of contentment within us, and also help to strengthen our precious ties with loved ones.

Christmas Blessings, to all those who celebrate the joy of this magical day. Best wishes to everyone for a glorious, prosperous New Year.

Also, thank you so much for reading my “Cosmic Life Coach” astrology blog, this past year. I have really appreciated it. I’m not quite sure, at this point, whether to continue with it or not in the new year. It’s something I’m presently mulling over. Trying to ascertain the best use of my energies for 2011.

“Cosmic Word of The Day”: Friction

Definition: 1) surface resistance to relative motion, as of a body sliding or rolling 2) the rubbing of the surface of one body against another 3) dissension of conflict between persons, nations, etc. because of differing ideas, wishes, etc.

COSMIC WEATHER:

Moon is in sex-addicted Scorpio.  Messenger Mercury is in speculative, fame-seeking Leo and forming funky, 135-degree links to both grandiose Jupiter and life-altering Pluto.

We’re cruisin’ along at a pleasant rate of speed in our vintage Ford Thunderbird convertible. All of a sudden we have to slow down because of a frickin’ speed bump. An aggravating form of friction. Apparently, there’s something that we must karmically attend to before we can continue on with our journey. It could be that Ed McMahon is trying to text message us from the Great Beyond to tell us that we have finally won the Giant Sweepstakes. Or, perhaps Simon Cowell is getting back with us on his Blackberry, regarding our earlier telepathic audition, to tell us how much we suck.

Whatever the case, we must be prepared for a little deviation and possible friction with respect to our planned, personal agendas today. We may also want to postpone pivotal decision-making for a couple days, as we’re inclined to overextend ourselves now and also be more careless with details.

In the News: With “Expansive” Jupiter conjunct “Equality” planet Uranus, in the “pioneering” sign of Aries, and both square to Pluto, which governs reform and sexual attitudes, a bill to legalize same-sex marriages was approved last Thursday by the Argentine National Congress. Argentina now becomes the first Latin America country to legalize same-sex marriages nationwide. “Squares” force “movement” on issues.

With the entrance of Mercury, ruler of words, into the dual-bodied sign of Gemini the Twins today, and its throwing of literary sextile aspects to voracious Jupiter and innovative Uranus in the new beginnings sign of Aries, I thought it would be timely to roll out a new daily blog entitled, “Cosmic Word of The Day.”

For this very first blog, I have chosen “Dustmite” or “Dust Mite” as the word (or words) of the day, in celebration of Mercury’s ingress into dual-natured Gemini.  In selecting this word, I am also keeping in mind Mars earlier passage this week into neat freak Virgo.

Also, tomorrow the dust will really be flying, as loquacious Mercury and warrior Mars will be squaring off in the heavens.

Perhaps, too, by choosing this word, dustmite, it will instill a fair amount of Saturnian guilt in all of us to do some thorough dusting and cleaning. You know, too, that guilt-monger Saturn is also still in fussy Virgo. (Also, please check out my daily astrology blog horoscope for today, June 10, for more on the infinite joys of vacuuming.)

Merriam-Webster’s Online Search describes dust mite as “any of various mites (especially from family Pyroglyphidae) commonly found in house dust.”

In closing, may this joyful Cosmic Word “dustmite” be with you till tomorrow, when we meet again, at which time I will have a new Cosmic Word ready and waiting for you.

The Moon enters pristine Virgo at 6:57 am EDT.  A perfect day for spring-cleaning,  decluttering, working on projects that require concentration, like weeding and pruning. The logical, more left-brain, Virgo Moon enhances our analytical ability so we’re better able to evaluate any weaknesses in our Aries futuristic plans, as well as identify solutions to our problems. This is a very health-conscious placement for the Moon. It’s a great time to initiate any self-improvement agenda.

Memorable event in history on this date: March 27, 1930 – The first radio broadcast from a ship at sea took place.

In astrology, the planet Uranus (which governs inventions) rules radio broadcasting. On that particular date, Uranus was at 11 degrees of Aries (a sign associated with firsts). Uranus was exactly sextile (harmonious) to expansive Jupiter at 11 degrees of Gemini. Gemini governs communication and Jupiter is associated with growth, burgeoning opportunities, so we had a perfect milieu for broadening out the realm of radio communication.  Also, to put the finishing touch on the cosmic equation that day: The Moon was in the sign of Pisces. Pisces rules the sea!
