“Why is it that when one man builds a wall, the next man immediately needs to know what’s on the other side?” George R. R. Martin

COSMIC WATCH:

Curiosity can be a great thing. It offers us a way to be energetically engaged with our surroundings. Curiosity also fuels discovery and growth. It literally means we are eager to investigate and learn more. Today’s placement of the Moon in inquisitive Gemini is a perfect chance for us to fully employ our curiosity and venture beyond our current limits of understanding or knowledge.

Too, what is extra special about this day, and also a natural complement to the inquiring Gemini Moon, is that we have utilitarian Saturn sextile insightful Pluto. This is an ongoing influence that will be repeated in 2013 on March 8 and September 21. This aspect provides us with a solid foundation (Saturn) for being able to cut right through to the core of things (Pluto). Or, to get at the very heart of the matter of whatever it is that we want to explore.

Saturn-Pluto is an excellent influence for any type of detective work, problem-solving, or research. Or, for simply taking stock of matters. For instance, now might be a very good time to conduct a personal review of 2012, evaluating the highs and lows of the year. Saturn-Pluto is very good for taking corrective measures of any kind, or for fixing what’s broken. Pluto also gives a certain finesse in dealing with those scenarios of a more extreme or crisis-type nature. Saturn-Pluto is an aspect of transformation, or shape-shifting. This influence can also make us very motivated about achieving our goals (Saturn) and spreading our sphere of influence (Pluto) in the world. It is also excellent for figuring out how to best manage our resources.

Interestingly, on a collective level, lawmakers on Capitol Hill are also suppose to resume their talks this week about how to avert a fiscal cliff, which is reportedly set to take place January 1, if nothing is done. Hopefully, this Saturn-Pluto sextile will be a beneficial backdrop for arriving at some solutions to this suspenseful dilemma. Pluto rules debt and taxes, and is in Capricorn, the sign of government. Saturn is also in Pluto-ruled Scorpio, the sign of shared resources. To add some more intrigue or complication, Saturn and Pluto are both in awkward alignment (quinqunx) to intemperate Jupiter, the planet which also happens to rule politicians. 🙂

How would you like to reshape your world in 2013?

Famous December 26 Birthdays: Phil Spector, Richard Winmark, Steve Allen, Henry Miller.

“Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate, or despise, serves to defeat us in the end.” Henry Miller

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Astrology December 25, 2012: Merry Christmas! Gemini Moon, Mars in Aquarius

Annie Lennox, astrology for december 25 2012, Barbara Mandrell, Dr. Seuss, horoscope december 25 2012, Humphrey Bogart, Jimmy Buffett, Karl Rove, mars enters aquarius, Moon in Gemini

“Christmas doesn’t come from a store, maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more….” Dr. Seuss.

COSMIC WATCH:

This Christmas, conversation may be flowing like the holiday eggnog with the Moon’s entrance into chatty Gemini (2:13 am EST). A perfect day for gathering and sharing information and for catching up with those persons who we have maybe been out of the loop with for a while.

The Moon is also appropriately conjunct big-hearted Jupiter (7:18 pm EST), the planet that is the astrological archetype for Santa. Hopefully, this optimistic configuration will also be the magical key that unlocks our own unlimited supply of generosity and goodwill. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Later this evening, we also have another major shift with motivator Mars stepping into progressive Aquarius (7:49 pm EST), where it will stay until February 1. Mars in Aquarius means that it’s time to adopt more of a team-approach to things and to try untested methods.

The Sun is also squaring futuristic Uranus tonight (8:31 pm EST), the modern day ruler of Aquarius, further allowing us to embrace and gravitate to new experiences. It could be that we may want to add some new traditions or customs to this special day now, as Uranus is all about expanding beyond the norm, sometimes even in quirky or offbeat ways. “Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle.” Paul Coelho

What is your special wish for this Christmas?

Famous December 25 Birthdays: Karl Rove, Jimmy Buffett, Barbara Mandrell, Humphrey Bogart, Annie Lennox.

“Ask yourself: Have you been kind today? Make kindness your daily modus operandi and change your world.” Annie Lennox

For those of you who celebrate this glorious day, I hope you all have a very, merry Christmas! Please be safe. Much love to you and yours.

COSMIC WATCH:

Even though the Moon is in cautious Capricorn, and the empowering Sun is aligned with serious Saturn, we are still receptive to new approaches today, as mental Mercury is exactly trine radical Uranus, a planetary aspect linked to invention and genius. This is a good day for cognitive shifts (epiphanies), and for trying out different perspectives. “Nature is full of genius, full of the divinity; so that not a snowflake escapes its fashioning hand.” Henry David Thoreau

“An idea can only become a reality once it is broken down into organized, actionable elements.” Scott Belsky

COSMIC WATCH:

The empowering Sun in philosophical Sagittarius has us scheming about the bigger picture. But before we can manifest that grand vision for ourselves, we may need to break it down into smaller parts, or actionable steps. That’s where today’s Moon in analytical Virgo can practically assist us by helping us to systematically fill in many of the blanks on how to get there.

The Moon’s trine to energizer Mars (10:31 am EST) also inspires us to do and be our best.

Famous Birthdays December 6:  Agnes Moorehead, Dave Brubeck. “I’m always hoping for the nights that are inspired, where you almost have an out of body experience.” Dave Brubeck.

Sadly, Dave Brubeck passed away in Norwalk, CT yesterday, just one day shy of his 92nd birthday. He reportedly died on his way to a cardiology appointment.

Astrology November 28, 2012: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Gemini

“I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. Words are the source of misunderstandings.” Antoine de Saint-Exupery

COSMIC WATCH:

A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in “communication” Gemini today, at 6 degrees (9:45 am EST), puts a spotlight on logical thinking, our conversations or exchanges with others, and information gathering and sharing. With the Sun also in opposing Sagittarius, we are made aware of how our personal beliefs and biases (Sagittarius) can creep into our thought process (Gemini) and correspondingly color it.

Full Moons signify endings or release, while eclipses often represent critical turning points or junctures in our lives. Both provide us the opportunity for greater illumination. With this Lunar Eclipse in “cerebral” Gemini, we may find that we need to modify our beliefs and thinking now to accommodate changing scenarios, or even breakthroughs in our own consciousness.

This Eclipse is in a wide conjunction with optimistic, growth-oriented Jupiter, which can help to give us more upbeat expectations for the future. Jupiter represents our faith and hope. At the same time, with Mars conjunct Pluto in Capricorn and Venus conjunct Saturn in Scorpio, we are also very aware of the need to carefully manage the resources already in our possession now, trimming the fat or belt-tightening, wherever needed. Saturn representing the principal of conservation, Pluto governing elimination.

It’s interesting, too, that we have the talks (Gemini) going on now, on Capitol Hill, about the pending “fiscal cliff” in government (Capricorn), and what to do about it. The politicians will likely be needing to do some impressive mental gymnastics, in the days and weeks ahead, to solve the crisis.

Also, Saturn favorably sextile to Pluto, for the next month or so, should help to create a climate where some kind of resolution is possible for this situation, as these two can be extremely resourceful when they are paired together. Saturn-Pluto also symbolizing the ability to transform or alter (Pluto) the world or structures around us (Saturn). Too, Pluto specifically governs debt and taxes.

Lunar Eclipses can be felt for up to three to six months and we can also feel their impact several days in advance.

Some Gemini Moon Activities: visiting bookstores, libraries, attending lectures, speaking engagements, writing, teaching, short trips, involvement with siblings, neighbors, shopping for cars or phone equipment, sightseeing, social networking.

Happy Eclipse Blessings to you! Would also love to hear about your Eclipse stories, if you would care to comment down below.

“God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.” Vance Havner

COSMIC WATCH:

“Assertive” Mars is conjunct “transforming” Pluto today (3:17 pm EST). This is potentially a very powerful and renewing combination of energy that can significantly strengthen our focus and determination. It can also increase our insight and general awareness into ourselves, including perhaps helping us to understand some of the deeper reasons or hidden motivations behind our behavior. Metaphorically, this aspect can make us feel a little like our (psychological) shackles are finally being removed. Too, this is an ideal period for purge projects. Or, makeovers.

This is also an influence that can serve to connect us with what is seemingly our special destiny or purpose in life. We may feel more of a sense what it is that we came here to do now, along with an urgency to act on that mission.

On the shadow side, our egos may not take too kindly to any sort of perceived restraint or interference from others now. Unfortunately, Mars-Pluto is all too often associated with setting up a more combustible atmosphere in which power struggles tend to ensue. Of course, when we deliberately choose to seek out the common ground between us, we can usually find a way to work together. “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Helen Keller

Famous Birthdays November 27: Jimi Hendrix, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg. “I think one of my father’s great legacies is the people that he inspired and the generation that he inspired transformed America through civil rights, women’s rights, equal justice, and they have passed that on to their children and grandchildren.” Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

COSMIC WATCH:

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” Albert Einstein

Even though the Moon is still in steady, dependable Taurus, with the Sun trine futuristic Uranus we may decide that the time is ripe to toss aside some of our old (socialized) programming. Uranus helping to lift up the “self-discovery curtain” before us. Giving us an inspiring preview of what our lives might be like if we dared to venture outside of our comfort zones. This may also be a good day for learning new technology, or new systems and procedures.

Sweet Venus is also conjunct serious Saturn. We’re moving our relationships to the front burner now, where greater scrutiny and evaluation of them, is more likely.

Too, Mercury is stationing direct in Scorpio (5:48 pm EST).  Signifying that decision-making has the go-ahead again.

Famous People Born November 26: Tina Turner. Charles Shulz “Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, ‘Where have I gone wrong’. Then a voice says to me, ‘This is going to take more than one night.” Charles Shulz

Lovable Venus is also quinqunx erratic Uranus, suggesting that “fluidity” may be the magical ingredient most needed for concocting positive relationships now. Although the Moon is still in exuberant Aries, there is a strong grounding component to the day. Energetic Mars is sextile stabilizing Saturn. An influence that tends to make us more focused and productive in our work.

The Moon is also void-of-course all day. This favors bringing matters to completion versus initiating anything new.

COSMIC WATCH:

Nearly all the best things that came to me in life have been unexpected, unplanned by me.” Carl Sandburg

With “assertive” Mars square “rebellious” Uranus today, the planet of change and the unexpected, there can be a tendency to force things to happen now, maybe due to our own impatience or frustration with the status quo. Sometimes, though, when we push too hard, things often have a way of backfiring on us.

Instead, what we may want to do is simply try detaching, and observing what is “trying to happen” on its own around us. This may include noting any synchronistic type events. Or paying attention to the people entering / exiting our life now.

Mars-Uranus, at its noblest expression, can often introduce “catalyzing elements” into our lives, seemingly out of the blue, that can help us to get unstuck, with Uranus symbolizing innovation, as well as intuition. This is also a great day for brainstorming, in general, or for finding new ways to approach old problems.

Also, we will want to make sure that we pencil in time for some “physical activities” today, as the Moon is in testosterone-filled Aries. Too, a good way to work off some of that Thanksgiving turkey. “To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.” Buddha

Famous November 23 Birthdays: Amy Rodden, Bruce Hornsby. “I feel like what I owe my audience is what I am most passionate about.” Bruce Hornsby

What are some of the best things in your life that seemed to happen to you “out of the blue?”

Enjoy Black Friday!
