The Moon’s ingress into adventurous Aries (2:50 am EDT) encourages us to take on more risk, or at least try some experimentation, especially since the Moon is also conjunct daring, innovative Uranus (9:00 am EDT) a planet known for “breaking the rules” and testing the limits. Accordingly, a good morning to perhaps deviate from our daily routines, or maybe challenge ourselves to fashion new responses as a way of stretching our wings and seeing what’s possible.
The Moon’s potent square to reforming Pluto in Capricorn (12:38 pm EDT) also helps to heighten our awareness while simultaneously powering our emotions. With Moon-Pluto, we tend to feel things more deeply, however, we are also more prone to extreme behavior which could sabotage our own self-interest, if we’re not careful. Too, we will want to avoid power struggles with this influence and aim for cooperation instead.
Additionally, Moon-Pluto is good for detective work, especially since we also have intellectual Mercury still trining Pluto which can make us aware of hidden elements. Moon-Pluto is also perfect for pruning away or recycling whatever is no longer needed (including undesirable habits), or for busying ourselves with refurbishing projects.

The Moon’s ingress into “checkered flag” Aries (12:26 pm EDT) gets our engines started and propels us to seek out new adventures. Too, the Aries Moon has her monthly meet-up with “unexpected” Uranus today (9:31 pm EDT), normally a time when we are able to load up on new experiences. Uranus tends to work its magic for us as a harbinger of change. He also gets us ingeniously thinking outside the box.
The Moon in Aries also squares “stealth” Pluto in Capricorn (11:46 pm EDT). A time when we may choose to go undercover. Pluto governs hidden realms, including our subconscious. Too, while we like to think that we’re consciously controlling our behavior, many psychologists say that most of the time, our behavior is dictated by our subconscious. No doubt, this theory is also “music to Pluto’s ears,” who delights in surreptitiously pulling our strings. 🙂

Celebrity Update: Unconfirmed reports are swirling around today that former Beatle, Paul McCartney (a Gemini), is poised to walk down the aisle for a third time in London. His bride-to-be is American divorcee, Nancy Shevell, who is Barbara Walters’ second cousin. The two have reportedly dated for four years.
Paul has “change-agent” Uranus, in “new beginnings” Aries, moving through his seventh house of marriage now and exactly trining his “transforming” Pluto in “romantic” Leo in his 11th house of hopes and wishes. I get the sense of some positive, life-changing karma playing out for Paul here. How about you? Unfortunately, I don’t have Nancy’s chart.
One other cool note about Paul’s chart: He natally has loving and creative Venus, in faithful Taurus, exactly conjunct his 9th house of writing. This has to be a big boon for him in his song-writing ability, especially his talent for writing “silly love songs.” Venus not only rules romance, but it also shows what we love to do. I’m not even sure how many songs Paul has written, but it has to number into the hundreds. Too, Venus in Taurus often coincides with marked talent for art or music.

The Moon’s ingress into pioneering Aries (4:24 am EDT) stokes our desire for new adventures. The Moon’s conjunction with change-agent Uranus (1:24 pm EDT) also acts to propel us into the future and potentially provides us with more of a platform to “do our own thing,” which the Aries Moon is already very receptive to doing. Rebel Uranus is associated with individuality and non-conformity. It encourages us not to render cookie-cutter responses, so this alignment can be very refreshing and rejuvenating for us, if we are but willing to be our true, authentic selves.
Later on, possible resistance from others to our plans, in the guise of the Moon’s square to controlling Pluto (5:08 pm EDT), in authoritative Capricorn, may have us wanting to retreat back to our Cancerian Sun “crab shells.” This may, indeed, be a very good time to go inside ourselves and examine our behavior and see if there is maybe something that we can either fix or purge (Pluto) that will help us to reunite more with our own sense of power, so we will feel less threatened or bothered by things external to us in the future.
Moon-Pluto can make us stronger by eliminating what is weaker or dead weight within us. Pluto governs the subconscious, and Pluto is always very ready to confer upon us deep insight, if we are willing to work with it. Moon-Pluto can be a very effective cathartic or healing agent. This configuration is also linked with actual surgery.
What would you like to reform or change about yourself? Anything?
Celebrity News: Actor George Clooney and girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis have reportedly split up after a two-year courtship. George (born 5/6/61) has transiting Saturn in Libra in his 7th house of partnerships now opposing his “love goddess” Venus in Aries in his first house of new beginnings.
This is, unfortunately, a textbook divorce or separation aspect. This is partly because Venus-Saturn often tends to make us feel “cut off” from others (Saturn inhibits our expression). Then, of course, when we get to feeling this way, we often end up erecting even more walls around us, which is not favorable or conducive for romance.
Too, this Venus-Saturn aspect can also simply indicate, that we have outgrown a relationship and that it is, indeed, time to move on, as Saturn does equate with natural endings and Venus rules relationships. Sometimes, too, with this influence, our ambitions and goals for ourselves, which are also denoted by Saturn, come in conflict with our relationship needs and we have no choice but to make certain adjustments in our lives. Either certain goals and ambitions go, or the relationships go, etc. Too, I am only talking in a general sense here about this aspect. I have no idea what, in reality, led to George’s breakup.
With that said, George’s horoscope also suggests that he tends to be a very private and emotionally guarded person, to begin with, as he has his Moon, ruling his feelings and women, tightly conjunct his Saturn in Capricorn, the sign that Saturn rules. In general, this more complex configuration makes it easier for a person to live by themselves (bachelor), as they naturally don’t feel so compelled to share their innermost feelings with others. A large part of why we have romantic relationships is to share what we are feeling inside.
Plus, being a famous actor, he does have ample opportunity to vent his feelings on a world stage, vicariously playing different roles, and that may be enough emoting for him. Too, being so famous, he also probably needs to be a little defensive, at times, with others, to curb exploitation, gossip, etc. At any rate, I would think that Moon conjunct Saturn would despise living a fish bowl type of existence, and would vie for as much privacy as possible. George does have his assertive Mars in colorful, theatrical Leo, though, too, so he does know how to confidently handle himself and his affairs, and people will like him regardless. That planetary influence helps to make him very charismatic, especially with Mars in his fifth house of self-expression.
George’s Venus in flirtatious, “conquest-oriented” Aries, also suggests that he requires plenty of freedom in romance, and that he also ideally does best with a partner who is very independent like himself. I also, unfortunately, don’t have Elisabetta’s birth chart to see what she has going on at the moment. Anyway, I wish both of them well. Breakups are never any fun.
Enjoy your Thursday! Too, don’t be afraid to “do your own thing!” Remember, we are receiving that high-voltage prompting from Moon-Uranus today. We may even want to put on the hippie beads and bell bottoms. 🙂

Cosmic Weather:
The Moon starts out the day in efficient Virgo, but it may require a bit of a juggling act to keep everything a flow, as the Moon has her monthly opposition to extravagant Jupiter (5:51 am EST) and rebellious Uranus (7:22 am EST). We progress now by not overextending ourselves, or unduly rocking the boat with others.
Later, the Moon’s entrance into relationship Libra (12:39 pm EST) makes us to want to intimately share our experiences with others. Partnering up, though, could be a challenge when the Moon squares off with controlling Pluto (9:26 pm EST) and the authoritative Sun (11:20 pm EST), unless we consciously make an effort to be more cooperative. We also help to preserve the peace by reigning in a tendency to be manipulative.
“Cooperation proves the quality of leadership.” James Cash Penney

WikiLeaks Founder, Julian Assange, has been granted bail today by a British Judge. Assange was arrested a week ago in London after two women accused him of sexual misconduct in two separate incidents in Sweden last summer.
Notable here from an astrological angle: Assange received bail this morning with the Moon at 4 degrees of action-packed Aries (Aries rules law enforcement and police matters). The Moon was also in an exact square to “news breaker” Mercury and “transforming” Pluto, both stationed at 4 degrees of Capricorn, and both part of the ongoing high-drama, “triple conjunction” in Capricorn, also involving “warrior” Mars. The “square” aspect today served to force the matter of his bail, as squares force issues.
“Moon-Pluto” aspects tend to coincide with more emotionally-intense events, and often these events can impact the collective because Pluto rules the masses. Also, Pluto symbolically represents the elimination or purge process, it often brings a “release” or an “alteration” to matters. Pluto, though, can be very controlling and dictatorial, and today’s bail for Assange has several conditions attached to it.
Pluto also represents spying, secret information, and covert activities (WikiLeaks), and is additionally implicated in sex acts using force. The Moon-Pluto exact square aspect had the affect of bringing these issues temporarily to the forefront. It should also be noted here that Assange vehemently denies the sexual misconduct allegations of the two Swedish women.
Assange voluntarily turned himself in to British authorities last week when the Moon was in Capricorn at 5 degrees and tightly conjunct Mercury, Mars, and Pluto (the triple conjunction). Assange will face another court hearing on January 11.

Budge: 1) to move slightly; begin to move 2) to change one’s opinion or stated position; yield
“On this last day of November, the Maternal Moon enters social, diplomatic Libra (7:16 am EST), the sign of the scales. This is a good time for us to weigh everything very carefully, and to also “budge” or “give a little” to preserve the peace.
This yielding approach may especially serve us well when the Moon bumps heads with dictatorial Pluto in Capricorn (2:22 pm EST) which tends to bring out the “control freak” in us. Or, put us in the path of “those who would be king.”
Idea Maven Mercury also ambitiously moves into Saturn-ruled, authoritative Capricorn (7:11 pm EST) today, where our thinking is more inclined to become practical and goal-oriented. We are wanting now to glean the “utility” of our ideas. Mercury in Capricorn says: “Show me the money, honey!” 🙂

The Magical Moon, Mistress of the Night, ends her stay in Immaculate Virgo. But, before she departs her tidy abode there, she has to pick up after Sloppy Jupiter (10:12 am EDT), and also rein in, “Let me rock your boat” Uranus (12:43 pm EDT), who is lovingly joined at the jaw with Jolly Jupiter in, “Both of you clowns are making me very seasick” Pisces.
Later, the Moon’s descent into Nuptials Libra (3:52 pm EDT) also brings a fair measure of intrigue into the honeymoon suite, as the Moon forms an exact square to “Master Spy” Pluto (8:30 pm EDT), in Big Brother Is Watching You Capricorn. Pluto is intent on bugging the conjugal bedding with a special CIA recording device.
What this may mean for all of us today is: Beware of weird-looking sea creatures with big jaws and try to steer clear of matrimonial spies with X-rated, government-mandated agendas. One more thing: Vacuuming could also become treacherous, if we venture too close to the goldfish bowl.”
On the other hand, if we choose to “go with the flow” and swim above the discord (Jupiter-Uranus), we may be in for quite an exciting time today, and also perhaps gain valuable insight into our own mysterious, inner workings (Pluto). Jupiter-Uranus energy can always be used as a launching pad for our own genius and creativity. Moon-Pluto, too, may provide us with some much-needed clarity regarding what is blocking us from fully enjoying our relationship(s).

Today’s Affirmation:
I choose to ride the glorious wave of life, wherever it may take me, knowing it is custom-fit to guide me to my soul’s sacred paradise.
Personal update:
As regular readers to this blog may know, last week, when the Sun and Saturn were exactly square to my natal Mars in my chart (an aspect of war), I had an old red oak tree suddenly tip over in my front yard, during a storm, taking along parts of three other trees with it. Today, with Tree-Cutter Mars in Change Things Over Scorpio, exactly conjunct my 8th house cusp of transition, I am having three other trees taken down (this is occurring as I write this). Two of the trees I am having removed, red oaks again, are leaning too close to my house, and the third tree is the “other half” of the double-leader red oak that fell last week, which is now weakened and needs to come down.
Mars energizes us to action and with it, we must often “do battle,” and that is exactly what is happening in my case. I am doing battle with my immediate environment out of necessity and for concerns over my physical safety and long-term survival, which Warrior Mars also speaks to.
Mars is also conjunct beautifying Venus in transforming Scorpio and, I do believe, that I am going to be very pleased and inspired by the appearance of my new front yard, when this makeover process is completed today. I also have transiting Pluto, Scorpio’s co-ruler with Mars, exactly opposite my fourth house cusp of the home, which again denotes renewal on the home front.
The fourth house also symbolizes the soul. I do feel that the trees coming down will symbolically allow my soul to move around freer, if that makes any sense. That the trees may have been barriers to my soul’s self-expression. I do really feel this. Right now, when I look out my front windows, my “view” is obstructed. But when the trees are all down, I will be able to “see more clearly” the nature of things and the lay of the land around me.
So I feel very inspired today, as I ride life’s noble wave. And, unless I be remiss, I also give blessings to the fallen trees. They have served me well over the years. They are like old friends. I know they have also kindly buffered my body, mind, and spirit, more than once, with their purposeful protection and wisdom. Shielded me from experiences that I was perhaps not fully ready to receive or understand at the time. They were like brave soldiers standing sentry over me.
But now, with Pluto’s extended naked ray, beaming down upon me, and Mars today in regenerating Scorpio, knocking on Pluto’s/Mars’ front door (the 8th house), it is time for me to do away with the old established guard and journey on. Put down new roots, grow new branches. Spread out beyond my customary borders, while bidding my dear, neighboring companions, who have served as steady fixtures in my life, for over twenty years, a final farewell. And, like Kahlil Gibran, alludes to down below, “thank them for their faithful life’s poetry.”
“Trees are poems that earth writes upon the sky. We fell them down and turn them into paper, that we may record our emptiness.” Kahlil Gibran

COSMIC WEATHER:
The shining “ever-so-brightly” Harvest Full Moon in “Self-Discovery” Aries. A wonderful time to go inside and reflect upon and nurture our own “self-love,” for it is only after we truly love ourselves, can we be fully open and available to loving others and enjoying the magical Libra “partnership experience” as it was meant to be.
This Full Moon is also tightly squared by “Transformational” Pluto in Capricorn. With Pluto, we’re invited (may be forced) to journey to our “very depths” and explore that inner territory that we often keep ourselves “blindfolded from” stemming from our “fear of the unknown.”
But, it is in these “dark, untapped regions” where this majestic Harvest Moon is now shining its “brightest light” and where we can reap a “bumper crop.” What is blocking us from “self love?” What is holding us back from having “satisfying relationships?” If we but only take the time to go inside, we may find out the answers to these deeper questions now, while also claiming some of our own “buried treasure.”
In the news: With the “Pioneering” Aries Full Moon square “Transformational” Pluto in “Governmental” Capricorn, “government health care reform” begins to take effect today in the U.S. (Pluto rules insurance and reform, while “squares” force issues.) It is also notable that “Expansive” Jupiter is conjunct “Humanistic” Uranus in Compassionate Pisces which can indicate opportunities or “more benefits” for members of the collective (due to the “generous” nature of Jupiter). Pisces also rules the medical profession and health-care providers such as hospitals. Additionally, Trailblazing Mars is in Scorpio (a sign it co-rules with Pluto) which deals with insurance matters. Wherever Mars transits by sign, it often energizes the activities or affairs denoted by that sign.
Celebrity Birthday: The “Boss” Bruce Springsteen turns 61 today! Talk about “creativity,” Bruce has 5 of his planets in his packed fifth house of self-expression, most are in harmonious sextile to his powerful Mars-Pluto conjunction in “naturally theatrical” Leo, in his money house, giving him “mass appeal” and also a psychological need and desire “for an audience.” (Pluto rules the masses.)
Normally, when the fifth house of a horoscope is heavily aspect, the person “is an artist” in some capacity. Bruce’s “Mental, Communicative” Mercury in “Dreamy” Libra tightly conjuncts his “Imaginative” Neptune, making him a spellbinding storyteller with his lyrics. Also with four planets in “Social, Idealistic” Libra it is natural for him to connect with other people and also poises him towards taking strong stands on “social issues,” like fellow Libran, John Lennon, as Libra is a “cardinal” sign associated with “action.” Bruce also has “Rebel” Uranus in his first house of personality endowing him with originality and genius and also making him revel in “defying convention” and “going against the norm.”
