COSMIC WATCH:

The “philosophical” Sagittarius Moon prompts us to take a “big picture view” of things. The ruler of Sagittarius, expansive Jupiter, is also in a 135-degree alignment with energetic Mars. This Mars-Jupiter influence can give rise to unbridled enthusiasm which can result in our going a little bit overboard, if we are not careful. We can, however, turn this energy into a win-win situation for ourselves by simply not over-committing our time or resources and practicing some restraint in what we say and do.

Venus, ruling relationships, is also square to intense Pluto, which governs the realm of our subconscious. With this Venus-Pluto aspect, buried or suppressed feelings tend to emerge, clamoring for our attention like a young child. While we may be very wise to acknowledge their presence and reflect upon why they are surfacing now, and what they have to teach us, we must also keep in mind that they are only temporary house guests passing through and not permanent residents we are stuck with, particularly if the emotions that are arising now are more of a shadow nature.

On the plus side, Venus-Pluto can be very insightful for fostering awareness concerning how we may need to change or restructure our relationships in order to allow for more personal growth within those alliances. We may also want to keep in mind today that all of our power comes from within and by trying to control other people only serves to ultimately dis-empower us in the end. Another shadow manifestation of Venus-Pluto can be a tendency to use manipulation with others to achieve our own ends instead of honoring and respecting other people’s boundaries and desires. COSMIC WATCH:

The Moon remains in nurturing, receptive Cancer for most of the day. Affording us perhaps a perfect outlet to display more caring and feeling. This is generally viewed as a very healing placement for Luna.

One thing that we may want to cultivate today, however, is possibly practicing some measure of moderation or temperance. This is because both thinker Mercury and pleasure-seeking Venus are forming more challenging aspects to extravagant Jupiter in financial Taurus. Which may incline us to go a bit overboard, especially in our spending. We may also not want to overpromise or overcommit ourselves now.

Later, the Moon’s ingress into kingly Leo (9:56 pm) is our cue to assume our rightful, respectable seat on the throne and exert our personal power and influence over the next couple of days. 🙂

COSMIC WEATHER:

Hard work, persistence, and a willingness to apply ourselves may bring some “karmic rewards” our way today! Both the power-generating Sun and motivator Mars are harmoniously trine to taskmaster Saturn, the planet traditionally billed as the “Lord of Karma.”

Saturn reigns supreme over our more serious accomplishments and endeavors in life. Saturn rules labor, goal setting, and self-discipline. It denotes the structure and foundation in our lives. It’s the glue that holds everything together. It’s also perceived as the “guilt factor.”

Today we may make excellent strides towards stabilizing matters. Too, we may want to seek out the support of more experienced or senior persons – our elders or mentors – all symbolically denoted by Saturn which also governs practical wisdom and common sense.

Additionally, with both the Sun and Mars trine Saturn in diplomatic Libra, it may be a very good time to “give peace a chance” as well. Also, possibly a good day for formulating succession plans.

(Thought it was interesting, too, that on the eve of these Sun-Mars-Saturn aspects, the new U.S.-Russian “START treaty took effect. Mars rules weapons and defense issues. With Saturn, we are usually more willing to “restrain” or “curb” our Martian aggressive impulses. Although the Sun is still conjoined with fiery Mars, which is a potentially a more aggressive, volatile aspect.)

With that said, we also may need to: Hold the fries. Forgo the extra helping of macaroni and cheese, or fried chicken. Refrain from having too much sex or alcohol today (this could be painful for some of us, especially the fried chicken). The reason for this restrictive mandate is because we have “sweetheart” Venus exactly square to generous, “over-sizer” Jupiter. Thought to be a major template for overindulgence in all things pleasurable. Including love.
