COSMIC WEATHER:

“All men have need of the gods.” Homer

The empowering Sun conjuncts mystical Neptune. We have a desire to transcend the mundane in our search for deeper meaning. We are also more willing to let our ego needs take a backseat to the needs of others. Neptune is linked with self-sacrifice, even martyrdom. It also rules compassion, as well as our imagination. The keywords for Neptune are: “Serve or suffer.”

Meanwhile, the Moon remains in self-expressive Leo (gearing up for the Full Moon on Friday).  Perhaps by helping to raise others up (Neptune in Aquarius), we discover that we also shine (Leo) in the process.

“Only a life lived for others is worth living.” Albert Einstein.

A note of caution: The shadow side of Sun-Neptune tends to put us “in a fog.” It is often harder to see things clearly. We are also more prone to deception (either from self or others), and disillusionment. So we may want to keep more of a detached air about us, and stay more focused on facts rather than fantasy.

On a collective level, too, Sun-Neptune has historically been associated with “extremism” or “fanaticism,” especially religious fanaticism. This is mainly because with Sun-Neptune, we often feel that we are carrying out a “higher agenda” and therefore have carte blanche to do whatever we feel we need to do in order to further our perceived noble causes. Neptune also rules persecution. It additionally represents groups that are disenfranchised or down on their luck. The impoverished. People who traditionally have not had a voice.

With that said, this is highly creative energy, today and tomorrow, especially with the theatrical Leo Moon also at play. Too, Neptune rules visual images. Our ability for positive visualization is, therefore, very keen now. We may also want to pay closer attention to our Neptune-ruled dreams for pivotal clues to our subconscious meanderings.

“All the things one has forgotten scream for help in dreams.” Elias Canetti

Neptune’s colors are turquoise, green, and magenta. To tune into Neptune’s meditative ray, we may want to wear and or surround ourselves now with these colors. Also, we might consider burning incense and putting on soft, soothing music. Creating a more contemplative environment in our homes. Water therapy is also ideal, as Neptune rules liquids, gels, and the sea. Given that the Moon is also in entertaining Leo, we may want to take in a play or movie, or attend a concert.

Famous Birthdays February 17th: Michael Jordan (48), Paris Hilton (30), Gene Pitney (would have been 71)

“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” Michael Jordan

On a personal note, I will be away from this blog for a few days. Taking a little “escapist” Neptunian break. 🙂
