COSMIC WATCH:

The Moon vacates self-indulgent Taurus for chatterbox Gemini (3:57 am EDT) quickening the pace of our responses and also making us keen on wanting to articulate our feelings with just about anybody who will give us five minutes.

We may even be willing to share some of our innermost, personal secrets today, as we have the illuminating Sun forming an opposition to “spy who loves me” Pluto (Pluto governs spies and espionage). Mysterious Pluto presides over our subconscious and when his shadowy ray is activated, we often “spill the beans” (purge) on private matters from A to Z. Too, the chatty Gemini Moon is more than happy to assist us here. 🙂

Sun-Pluto can be a very healing and transforming influence (Pluto rules rebirth), as it can serve to shine a light on certain things about ourselves, our motivations, etc., that we were previously unaware of, including suddenly making us aware of inner strengths or resources that we never knew we had before. Pluto rules the study of psychology and psychiatry.

When the Sun and Pluto are paired together, issues of power and control also tend to arise. Much of the time with this aspect, we are wanting more of both of these things. Too, because Pluto is connected with the hidden side of our nature, our darker impulses may manifest and we may be tempted to act in ways that could be described as more primitive. For instance, we may get more defensive and interpret things around us in more of a hostile or threatening manner, especially with the Sun in self-protective Cancer.

Again, the best antidote for any of this more unenlightened type behavior, is simply practicing self-awareness and keeping mindful of our mannerisms and inner stirrings. We also would be very wise to adopt more of a cooperative stance when dealing with others today versus unleashing our inner, unruly child.

IN THE NEWS: On the eve of this Sun-Pluto aspect being exact, late yesterday,  Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich, was found guilty of corruption and trying to sell President Obama’s Senate Seat. He could receive 20 years in prison. On the shadow side, Sun-Pluto reigns over corruption, manipulation, and misuse of power. Pluto is also in Capricorn, the sign of government officials.

On a more uplifting note, Rep. Gabrielle Gifford, also made her first, official, public appearance in six months, late yesterday, at a NASA event in Houston, with her astronaut husband, Mark Kelly. Gifford was shot in the head back in January during a mass shooting in Arizona. Her public appearance yesterday was certainly a more positive manifestation of this same Sun-Pluto energy. Too, with this influence, we often get a chance to see or witness things that have been hidden from view for a while. Gifford has been making a miraculous recovery from her injuries, again a testament to her own indomitable spirit and Pluto’s healing, transformational ray.

Cosmic Weather:

“As if we didn’t have enough to worry about already today, with holiday gift returns and all. Now we have to add scary “boogeyman” Pluto, ruler of the underworld, to the picture, via the Sun’s conjunction to it in skeletal Capricorn.

What’s worse: The Pluto boogeyman may be holed up inside of us! Making him that much harder to eradicate, as he knows the location of our subterranean crawl spaces and can pull all of our scary strings.

With Sun-Pluto, we tend to look on the “dark side of things” and harbor suspicions. This energy often arouses our deepest fears, the ones that we have dutifully submerged over time. Pluto symbolizes what is buried deep within our “psychological caves.”

Sometimes, too, our suspicions are justified, as “master detective,” Pluto Cousteau, can bring clandestine activities into the light of day. Foreboding secrets are suddenly revealed, including the biggest of all: Evil revelations concerning our true weight! (Let’s really hope and pray that we can manage to keep that fat cat in the bag a while longer. :))

Too, there could also be real boogeymen lurking around outside of us! And chances are good that some of them may be sporting fashionable trench coats, bought on clearance from Kohl’s, and donning thick dark shades, and speaking with a whisper into walkie talkies. Yes, Sun-Pluto tends to bring out all the real-life spies (Pluto rules covert operations and hidden forces).

And here we thought with the tidy Virgo Moon, that we would be able to fit in relaxing bouts of vacuuming today. Instead, we have to grapple with seedy human affairs, and tortuous intrepidation and intrigue.  Go figure.

On the plus side, Sun-Pluto can be “enlightening” and “transforming.” It governs purging and elimination. But, can we stand the truth of the scale?  That’s the million-dollar question.

Questions to perhaps ask ourselves today: 1) What makes us afraid, and why? 2) Other than our weight, what are we most afraid of others finding out about us? 3) How have we conquered our fears in the past? Can we employ a similar type strategy today? 4) Along the same lines, what can we purge or eliminate from our lives now to feel better, more empowered about ourselves? 5) What do we obsess over, and why? (Pluto rules obsessive, compulsive behavior. Good time for psychotherapy, studying about psychology.)

COSMIC WEATHER:

We start out the day with the Moon still lingering in romantic Libra. She throws a cool trine to psychic Neptune (at 10:26 am EDT),  perfect for casting magical spells and formulating exotic love potions.  We have it in our arsenal now to attract magnificent beings to us who are anxious to respond to our every whim and desire.  Normally, this would be an ideal situation. But, unfortunately, we are plum out of breath mints and concerned that our breath may not be fresh enough, so we pass on this golden opportunity.

The Moon later enters regenerating Scorpio (at 1:43 pm EDT) at which time we become instantly preoccupied with our many wrinkles and wanting to remove them. We want our skin to regenerate and look like it did 30 years ago, so that George Clooney will perhaps feel more inspired to give us a call. Although, we are no longer holding our not-so fresh breath for George. Other fish in the sea, George.

With the Moon’s sextile to regenerating Pluto (7:56 pm EDT), we’re anxious to makeover our entire environment and not just our faces. This is a great time to de-clutter and pitch what isn’t working, with the possible exclusion of small children and spouses.

Also, the Moon-Pluto sextile opens up fresh opportunities for further developing our own personal spy networks, since Pluto, as many of you know, rules spying and espionage. This would also be a wonderful time to go to Kohl’s to check out the upcoming fall fashion trends for trench coats.

COSMIC WEATHER:

We may need to replace sex with perhaps knitting or crocheting for the next few weeks.

In other words, we may need to sublimate.

I also realize, too, that for some of us, sublimation is already part and parcel of the fabric of our everyday lives and has been so for years. Not always by choice, either.

This cosmic need for sublimation today is due to “Love Goddess Venus” entering the critical sign of “Virgo the Virgin,” (7:32 am EDT) at which moment in time she begins to act accordingly.

Venus will stay in pure, chaste Virgo until August 7th.

Unfortunately, “Libido Lord” Mars is already celibate in Virgo until July 29th.

One bright spot here: Virgo does rule housework. My Crystal Ball is revealing possible sublimation opportunities for those persons owning upright vacuums.  Especially when the Moon enters sexy Scorpio on July 18th.

Cosmic Weather: Spy activities are urged and supported by the Universe today with Winged Messenger Mercury exactly opposite Master Undercover Agent Pluto. This is heavy-duty, premier spying energy that we have at our disposal now, perfect for forming our own personal spy networks.

Too, in case you have a weak Pluto or are lacking clandestine Scorpio planets, in your personal horoscope, you may be in the dark on exactly how to go about creating your own individual spy network.
