Astrology December 5, 2019: Moon Enters Aries, Squares Jupiter

We have a big costume change midway through the day, today! 🙂

First Half: We start out our Thursday with the waxing Moon still in sensitive, go with the flow Pisces. So granting ourselves perhaps a few moments of blissful solitude can be a perfect way for us to get gently centered in the rhythm of the day. The Pisces Moon is also void-of-course for over 7 hours today (from 3:15 am until 2:44 pm, when it ingresses into Aries), meaning it’s probably best to put off starting new projects until this void period is over.

Second Half: Once Luna rockets into fiery Aries, this afternoon, we’re once again cleared for taking direct action and generating exciting new beginnings.

With the reflective Moon also governing our emotional responses, in Aries the ram we tend to react quickly and impatiently to things, which can result in our potentially being more confrontational. Too, engaging in physical activity, such as working out at the gym, is often a great way to diffuse any tension we may be feeling now.

Shortly after the Moon enters Aries it also forms a waxing square to expansive Jupiter, still newly installed in ambitious, authoritarian Capricorn (4:09 pm). Luna squaring Jupiter tends to inflate our self-confidence or sense of self-importance. Nothing wrong with this unless we perhaps end up taking on, or committing to, more than we can handle. We are also possibly more apt to having philosophical differences with others now. On the plus side, this aspect can teach us how to become more tolerant, but only if we’re willing to entertain different points of view. Sometimes, too, when Jupiter is afflicted by aspect, it takes on a very zealous quality which, on the shadow side, can make us more narrow-minded, arrogant, or self-righteous in our beliefs.

Numerologically, it’s a “five” day which can also be very energetic and mentally restless. The challenge is to find a way to contain the energy in a productive way. There’s also somewhat of a rebel or non-conforming vibe to the number 5.

Astrology December 4, 2019: First Quarter Moon in Pisces

A First Quarter Moon occurs in reflective Pisces today (1:59 am). This phase of the Moon (when Luna squares the Sun) normally requires us to take some sort of action in order to solidify or strengthen our New Moon vision or intentions. However, with the Moon also conjunct ethereal Neptune this morning (10:18 am), the modern-day ruler of Pisces, there could be a bit of inner uncertainty or confusion on how best to proceed. This also brings to mind what Benjamin Franklin once said: When in doubt, don’t!

Meanwhile, we could also come to a new awareness today that what we’ve been believing or assuming is the truth (Sun in Sagittarius) may be much more nuanced (Moon in Pisces) than we originally thought.

Numerologically, today is also a “four” day, suggesting a keen desire to lay down a foundation (such as the First Quarter Moon also implies). Guess we just need to be careful that we’re not building “castles in the air!” 🙂

It seems we’ve been officially cleared by the “powers-that-be” to formally spread some love around! 🙂

Venus and Mars, the Cosmic Lovers, are sextile to each other today. A more pleasant and pleasurable astrological aspect that bodes well not only for romantic encounters but also sets up a nice give and take in our relationships in general. We’re potentially more willing and wanting now to express our love (Venus) through the actions (Mars) that we take. This is also a very creative influence that can especially inspire us to want to create more beauty not only around us but also out in the world.

Communicator Mercury is also sextile Pluto today, the ruler of the subconscious. This energy can take conversations to a deeper level. We may also hear, see, or read something today that really resonates with our inner truth and also generates a lot of clarity for us. Due to Mercury’s retrograde dance in Scorpio, we’ve also already had this same aspect twice before (on Oct. 19 and Nov. 9) so today’s the last meetup of this cosmic duo, which could also bring final resolution to a matter.

The waxing Moon also shifted out of inventive Aquarius and into compassionate Pisces, early this morning (2:11 am). This is a really nice emotionally sensitizing aspect that can also inspire us to want to just go with the flow, to not make any waves, to simply honor that peaceful place of stillness inside ourselves. “Be still. The more charitably-minded Pisces Moon is also a perfect backdrop for “Giving Tuesday” today, an annual day that encourages people around the world to do good.

Numerologically, today is also a “3” day which is considered excellent for creative ventures. This also has a nice vibe to it for fun or lighter relationships.

It’s moving day, today! 🙂

Jupiter, symbolizing the urge for growth or expansion, optimism, and our higher beliefs, exits enthusiastic, visionary Sagittarius (the sign that it rules) and moves into more serious, Saturn-ruled Capricorn (1:20 pm), the sign of the “traditional” or “tried-and-true,” where it will reside until December of next year.

Ideally, Jupiter in earthy, mature Capricorn (the sign of career, reputation, and status) will help us to grow in 2020 by showing us myriad ways to better manage, conserve, or recycle our resources. The keywords for Capricorn are “I Use” – and there’s a distinctly utilitarian flair or approach to this sign.

Jupiter in Saturn’s “restricted” space may also make us more aware of the “power of focus” as a way of realizing our dreams. Again, this plays into the whole idea or philosophy of setting a reasonable limit or boundary (Saturn) on what we hope to accomplish or achieve (Jupiter) so we don’t get too overwhelmed or ahead of ourselves.

Too, often when we make the actual overtures of turning a dream or two into reality we soon realize that it’s usually much harder than we first thought it would be. Which is also another good reason to take small baby steps, in the beginning.

On another level, Jupiter’s passage through Capricorn may also be positive for “organizing-type” businesses and for businesses, studies, or research related to aging. Also, Jupiter here may possibly be more advantageous for conservation efforts regarding the environment. (On a collective level, Jupiter’s ingress into Capricorn today is also coinciding with the start of a two-week United Nations Conference on climate change in Madrid, Spain.)

Jupiter in Capricorn may also bring some advancements or improvements in the agriculture industry, which falls under Capricorn’s domain. (Saturn, the planet, was named after the Roman God of Agriculture.)

Numerologically, it’s a “2” day, representing union, and the Divine Feminine. “Two” days are normally positive for seeking out cooperation or integrating opposing energies.
