“It is in moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” Tony Robbins
Mercury in Capricorn squares Mars in Aries:
We may feel more pressured or primed (Mars) to make decisions (Mercury) today. Including courageous, bold ones! Motivator Mars, the planet which deals with how we assert ourselves, is newly installed in self-confident, trailblazing Aries, the sign that it rules. Here, it is very fast-acting and very eager for new beginnings. Especially since it’s the start of a brand new year.
Thinker Mercury meanwhile, in professionally ambitious Capricorn, cognitively gets Mars enthusiastic drive, desire, and spirit to forge ahead (Capricorn is also an enterprising cardinal sign). Mercury in Saturn-ruled Capricorn, however, is wired to operate much more systematically or methodically, with a definite plan in hand, that carefully showcases all his neatly crossed t’s and i’s circumspectly dotted.
So, what to do to avert a potential ‘planetary shutdown’ between Mercury and Mars? š
A winning solution here seems to be to find a way to combine the best attributes of each of these planets: When rendering any decisions, have a clear, detailed vision in your back pocket of where it is you want to go. Coupled with a realistic analytical assessment of the bevy of resources at your disposal (Mercury in Capricorn). Be willing to also step outside of your comfort zone and be adventurous! Make decisions that stretch your capacity and force you to grow (Mars in Aries).
Additionally, it is wise to keep in mind now that decisions made from a place of integrity inside ourselves will always leave us with a feeling of peace that we are on the right track.Ā “A lot of the conflict you have in your life exists simply because you’re not living in alignment; you’re not be being true to yourself.ā Steve Maraboli.
Possible Shadow sides of Mercury Square Mars: Displaying a “win at all costs mentality” that may ride roughshod over the views or opinions of others. Grandstanding. Throwing temper tantrums. Being argumentative. Letting our ego run the show. Refusing to collaborate. In other words, a fairly typical day in the brand new Congress on Capitol Hill! š

We have missed you as well
Thank you, Jane!
Missed you but don’t you mean the shadow side (or only side) of the man in the oval office instead of brand new Congress?
I was just trying to be humorous with respect to my remark, although I do also wish there could be more collaboration among all members of Congress.
And yes, President Trump, with his warrior Mars in Leo, closely conjunct his Leo Rising, along with his natal Sun conjunct erratic Uranus in Gemini definitely fits that shadow side very well. Usually on a daily basis! š
