Astrology July 30, 2022: Leo Sun and a Waxing Moon in Virgo

Cosmic Weather:

On this Saturn-ruled Saturday, the last one in July, we are privy to a radical costume change of sorts, about midday, with waxing Luna wrapping up her glam stay in flamboyant Leo the Lioness and bound for the ‘reap what you sow’ wheat fields of more modest, discerning Virgo the Virgin (2:10 pm).

Overall, the Moon’s pivot to detail-oriented Virgo, in association with the creative Leo Sun, especially favors organizing, assessing, or evaluating those projects or activities that we – particularly our egos – may personally identify with, which also may incorporate our special unique crop of talents or gifts.

Included in the mix here, we may also want to allocate some time or resources now to re-arranging or decluttering our immediate surroundings so as to introduce or establish a more palpable sense of energetic flow around us so we can, ideally, function more optimally. Too, fresh off the heels of the New Moon in Leo, we do want to be birthing something new now, hopefully seeing it get its cool angel wings at the time of the Full Moon in Aquarius on August 13th.

Luna will remain in efficient Virgo until early Tuesday morning.

Numerologically, today, 7-30-2022, is both a “3” and “7” day. The number three suggests a special knack or finesse for socializing or getting along with others, which can ultimately help to make us more influential or persuasive; this number is also associated with creative expression. Meanwhile, the number seven appeals to our more intuitive or mystical side. Also, “30” is often viewed, numerologically, as a period of time when we “come into our own .” For instance, Jesus was about 30 years of age when he started his ministry.

Cosmic Weather:

We start out our Wednesday – the 205th day of the year – with Waning Luna (governing our feelings and emotions) wrapping up her stay in fast-acting Aries, perhaps generating more of a general restlessness within us and also more of a tendency towards impulsivity as we are more inclined now to directly act upon our emotions. (The Moon will be void from 10:47 am to 5:42 pm, at which time it will enter the sign of stabilizing Taurus.)

Communicator Mercury retrograde is also forming a conjunction with sweet, soothing Venus in sentimental Cancer (8:26 pm). This softening influence can not only make us wax poetic and perhaps kindle our romantic side as well, it can also find us revisiting and analyzing old relationships, old feelings, including reviewing elements of our familial or ancestral past. Articulating our feelings now may also be more important to us. Additionally, it may be a wonderful time to visit art galleries, take in concerts, redecorate our living quarters, as we potentially have more of an aptitude and appreciation for beauty now in all of its forms. Too, this conjunction nicely dovetails with today’s numerology, since it’s the 24th day of the month, which is also a Venus-ruled six-day.

The Moon also enters its Last Quarter Phase in practical Taurus tonight (9:17 pm), squaring the Sun in self-expressive Leo. (The Quarter Moon phase always suggests some crisis in consciousness is possible.) It could be that we need to reconcile now a need to be pragmatic with a desire to be creative. Perhaps discerning how to place or put a value or worth (Taurus) on our own creative instincts (Leo).

On This Day in History: On July 24, 1965, Bob Dylan (b. 5/24/41) releases the classic “Like A Rolling Stone.” Astrologically, that day, Mercury (words) and Venus (artistry) were conjunct in creative Leo (similar to what we have today with those same two planets conjunct in Cancer). The empowering Sun was also in dramatic Leo and sextile to the Waning Moon in articulate, clever Gemini. Dylan also had, in his own birth chart, transiting fortuitous (preacher-teacher) Jupiter in Gemini exactly conjunct his 7th house cusp (ruling the public) and trining his Libra Midheaven (career house).

Astrology August 22, 2014: Final Day of Sun in Authoritative Leo

COSMIC WATCH:

Depending on where you live, this is the Sun’s last full day in “authoritative” Leo the Lion, the sign that it rules. Tomorrow, it will be entering “service-oriented” Virgo (12:46 am EDT).

With the Sun symbolizing our ego and personal sense of power, now that it’s exiting Leo, this may be a good day for us to reflect upon how we have been using our power to achieve our own ends. Has what we’ve been doing been working for us? Are we pleased with the results that we have been getting? If not, how might we shift things around so things work out more in our favor?

Too, sometimes when a planet is at 29 degrees, the Anaretic Degree, which is also known as the Karmic Degree, we feel more of a sense of urgency to express the particular energies of that planet – especially if we have had a struggle expressing these energies in the past. It’s kind of like making “one last stand.” So with the Sun at 29 Leo, this could possibly translate into our having more of an acute need now to demonstrate our personal power in the world, to weave our sphere of influence. Too, it could be that our ego (Sun) has a burning desire for more outward recognition (Leo).

COSMIC WATCH:

With the Moon sequestered all day in reflective Pisces, it’s advisable to spend some time alone with our thoughts; to turn an attentive ear to the music gently streaming inside of us.

Wayne Dyer once wrote, “Don’t die with the music still in you.” I take this to mean that we should never give up on our dreams. That we must find a way to keep on singing, or at least recalling, that magical, sometimes elusive melody within, that is our true essence and birthright – even if the rest of the world may not always “get us,” or render us rave reviews for our performances.

Too, we must believe that we are all lifted up when each of us beats along with the natural rhythm serenely emanating from within our sacred hearts. The idealistic Pisces Moon, coupled with the self-expressive, creative Leo Sun, beckon us on sweetly today to turn up the volume on our inner broadcast stations and joyfully sing along – even if we can only do this, for now, in the sanctity of the shower, with the bathroom door supportively closed.  Perhaps a primitive, but promising start to an emancipated life. 🙂
