This Date In History:

November 24, 1966:

The Beatles begin recording sessions for their masterpiece eighth album: Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band which was later released on June 1, 1967. The group reportedly spent over 400 hours in the recording studio producing this one album. The BBC would later end up banning one of the songs from it, “A Day In The Life” out of reported concern over a supposed drug reference in the song, “I’d love to turn you on…”

On 11/24/66 the Moon was in fiery, pioneering Aries. Also, adding to the level of excitement that day: The illuminating Sun and Creative Venus were affectionately conjunct in storytelling Sagittarius, harmoniously trined to lucky, expansive Jupiter in showman Leo, the sign of entertainment.

Enterprising Mars, the ruler of trailblazing Aries, was in perfectionist Virgo and exactly conjunct “inventive genius” Uranus. Mars and Uranus were additionally in a close conjunction to transforming Pluto in Virgo.

So we had a cool host of intense, game-changing influences for the collective, in effect.

Ambitious Saturn, too, often billed as the “Lord of Karma,” was in Imaginative Pisces, the sign which rules music, and in an exact flowing trine to mystical, psychedelic Neptune (Neptune rules drugs).  Neptune is also the planetary ruler of Pisces. Of course, Sgt. Pepper had a very mystical, psychedelic theme to it. Drug Kingpin Neptune was also hanging out in revamping Scorpio at the time, maybe part of the reason why so many were trying to find “psychic redemption” then through mind-altering drugs.

Too, Neptune rules our dreams and fantasies, and when aligned favorably with “karma rewards king” Saturn, we often see the manifestation of our dreams (creativity) coming true. We are better able to give tangible form and shape (Saturn) to the products of our imagination (Neptune) i.e. through songwriting, poetry, painting, etc.

Traditionalist and status quo preserver Saturn in dreamy Pisces was also opposite the rebellious and personally liberating Mars, Uranus, and Pluto conjunction, delineating the general angst that was going on in the collective then among the new ‘hippie” generation for radical change and the older generation of yesteryear.  This angst was, of course, also artistically woven in a masterful way into the fabric of Sgt Pepper and even evident on the unique cover of the record album which was very original (Uranus), spacey and psychedelic (Neptune), and a likely game-changer (Pluto) for the music industry.

Cosmic Word Of The Day: Visualize

(Moon in Pisces.  Moon conjunct Jupiter and Uranus. Mars Quintile Neptune. Moon enters Aries.)

Visualize: 1) to recall or form mental images or pictures 2) to make visual or visible 3) to make perceptible to the mind or imagination

“The Emotional Moon in Imaginative Pisces forms powerful conjunctions to Inspirational Jupiter (5:57 am EST) and Genius Uranus (11:38 am EST). Energizer Mars also forms a creative 72-degree aspect to Master of Illusion Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, which rules imagery and photography. In wake of these energies, our ability to visualize or conceptualize is greatly enhanced today.

Later, the Moon’s entrance into Spontaneous Aries (6:00 pm EST) fires us up to take direct action on matters.”

COSMIC WEATHER:

The Emotional Moon continues in “Speed Demon” Aries. We’re all fueled up. Our motor’s running. We do need to keep a watchful eye out for the Highway Patrol, though, as “Law Officer” Mars is semi-square to “Ticket-Happy” Saturn (11:11 am EDT). (If we recklessly break rules now, there may be a price to pay!)

We also need to refrain from “over-indulgence” with Love Maven Venus in Sexy Scorpio sesquiquadrate to “Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love” Jupiter in “Fantasy-Prone” Pisces. Too much sex could additionally make vacuuming seem less than thrilling later on, and we certainly wouldn’t want that.

Activities spotlighted today: sports and physical activity, letting off steam, taking stands, involvement with the military, investigating passions, being a pioneer, breaking records, soaring to the top, vacuuming the interiors of race cars, purchasing checkered flags, donning “authoritative uniforms.”

Quote for the Day:

“It is often the failure who is the pioneer in new lands, new undertakings, and new forms of expression.” Eric Hoffer

In The News:

Venus in Scorpio “never forgets!”

On October 9, 2010, with “Love Goddess” Venus having just turned retrograde in “Sexually Obsessed” Scorpio and the Emotional Moon also passing through “Dark Moods” Scorpio, reportedly “Ginni Thomas,” the wife of Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, left a voice mail for Anita Hill imploring her to recant her account of Clarence’s alleged “sexual harassment” two decades earlier.

The sign of Scorpio rules the subconscious, those realms inside of us that are “submerged” or “hidden from view.” It is also characteristically known for “its venomous sting” (just like the real-life Scorpion) and stirring up “buried issues from the past.” (Scorpio symbolizes death and rebirth.)

Relationship Venus turning retrograde, too, is a time when we “revisit matters of the heart.”

Also on Wednesday, the new UK coalition govt announced massive spending cuts, the biggest in decades.  This announcement came with Pioneering Mars in “budget-minded” Scorpio (the sign associated with debt and collections) exactly trine Philosophical Jupiter in Social Programs Pisces. Mars trine Jupiter is a classic signature of “zealotry“ and “political and social activism,”  a time when we are extremely eager to go to bat for our beliefs and ideals, even to the point of fanaticism. Jupiter also rules politics.

Also relevant here: the North Node of the Moon (pointing to the future) is nearing a conjunction with Decimating and Controlling Pluto in Governmental Capricorn. Pluto likes to bulldoze existing structures and often does so with a vengeance.  Pluto, as a co-ruler of Scorpio, also signifies “debt-issues.”

COSMIC WEATHER:

A lot going on above us today…

The Night Owl Moon switches from Mystic Guru Pisces to Race Car Driver Aries (11:24 am EDT) at which time we may want to proceed warp-speed ahead with our agendas.  The Aries Moon is all about taking action, conquering new frontiers. Needless to say, today is not the time to be a cozy little “couch potato,” sitting around watching Oprah. But rather a time to “go out and do!” Later on, though, we may need to avoid power struggles with the Moon’s square to Controlling Pluto (5:39 pm EDT).

Mental Mercury, governing our thoughts and ideas, also joins Venus and Mars in Probing Scorpio for a three-week run. With Mercury in Scorpio, our thinking becomes deeper as we set about solving some of life’s greatest mysteries. Scorpio is the sign of the zodiac that deals with life, death, and rebirth issues. Mercury in Scorpio is keenly able to solve long-standing riddles and cleverly figure out “who dunnit plots.” We may also begin to get real clarity on those issues in our lives that may have been perplexing us for a while.

Mercury in Scorpio’s style tends to be “all or nothing.” When it examines something, it either gives it its full undivided attention or neglects it altogether.

Pioneering Mars in Resourceful Scorpio is also harmoniously trine Philosophical Jupiter in Pisces. This is, classically, a powerhouse aspect for social, religious, and political activism. We can make notable progress toward our goals and dreams today, and if there is something that we really “believe in,” this is the time to “go for it,” especially with the Moon in adventurous Aries.

The Sun in Relationship Libra is also in a more challenging quinqunx aspect to Quirky Uranus in Pisces. We could encounter some skeptics, or otherwise “oddball types” (Uranus) who want us to justify our actions to them. However, we shouldn’t let others derail or intimidate us now. Especially with Mars trine to Jupiter, “nothing’s gonna stop us now!”

Activities favored today: new beginnings, rebirth and renewal efforts, medical and scientific research, wills and estate matters, psychic development, spying and espionage, investigation, reviewing insurance matters, intimate sexual encounters, holistic healing, religion, social and political activism, treasure-hunting.

Quote for Today:

“Chase down your passion like it’s the last bus of the night.” Terri Guillemets

On October 20, 1968, former “First Lady” Jackie Kennedy weds wealthy Greek shipping magnate, Aristotle Onassis. Aristotle’s private island “Skorpios” in the Ionian Sea is the site for this historic event.

In Jackie’s and Aristotle’s “wedding chart” that day (time unknown for the service), Venus, the Goddess of Love and Marriage, was in Possessive Scorpio and in an “out-of-sign” sextile to Non-conforming Uranus in Marital Libra.  When Venus is aligned with Uranus we often see “unusual pairings” taking place.  Venus-Uranus is often “non-traditional” and tends to bring about alliances between very different kinds of persons.   When Frank Sinatra met Mia Farrow, for instance, he had Venus-Uranus prominent in his chart. Venus-Uranus craves excitement and embraces relationships that are “out of the norm.” Additionally, Paul McCartney met John Lennon when Venus-Uranus was exact in the heavens.  It can be an aspect of “sudden attraction.”

Interestingly, Jupiter, the traditional planet of “good fortune and abundance,” was also in a tight conjunction to Pluto. Pluto is associated with “mega-money,” especially when aligned with “lucky” and “expansive” Jupiter. Jupiter and Pluto were in Practical, Dutiful Virgo and harmonious to Sea-Faring Neptune in the sign of Joint Resources Scorpio (Aristotle’s wealth was from Neptunian-ruled shipping). It has been reported that a main reason Jackie married Aristotle was out of a need for privacy and security for her children, which would fit the practical, stabilizing Virgo-Scorpio energy.

Venus, at 29 degrees of Scorpio, was also separating from a Glamourizing, Idealistic conjunction with Neptune at 25 of Scorpio. With Venus-Neptune, there can be a lot of fantasy and make-believe at the core of the relationship, as Neptune is the ruler of our imagination and dreams. Venus-Neptune relationships are often hard to “see clearly,”  as Neptune characteristically looks at romance through “rose-colored glasses.” Venus-Neptune tends to “idolize the partner,” sees him or her as a “savior.” Venus-Neptune relationships can sometimes contain “martyrdom” elements to them as well, as Neptune often denotes ego-denying experiences. Sometimes, Venus-Neptune is indicative of marrying someone “on another wavelength.”

Also, in Jackie’s case, Venus-Neptune literally symbolized a “romance involving aspects of the sea,” as Aristotle made his livelihood from the sea.

Venus additionally was at an “anaretic degree” of Scorpio (meaning the last degree of a sign), which can signal a “sense of urgency” to the relationship and romance. (Too, in a few years, Jackie would later end up a “widow,” with Scorpio the sign of “transition.”)

Jackie, who was a proud, charismatic Leo with a Private Scorpio rising and an Adventurous Aries Moon, also had in her personal horoscope then, Stabilizing Saturn transiting at 21 degrees of Libra exactly trine to her natal Venus at 21 degrees of Gemini. Venus also rules her 7th house of marriage.  With Venus-Saturn, we often forge relationships with older individuals (which Saturn denotes) and often these relationships are based on security needs. Venus not only rules relationships it also rules money. Saturn was also getting ready to move into Jackie’s twelfth house of seclusion, a period when we often seek a “personal retreat” from the outside world.

Aristotle, an Ambitious Capricorn with a Travel-Happy Sagittarius Moon, had transiting Jupiter and Pluto in Virgo exactly trine to his natal Venus in Capricorn in his horoscope when he married Jackie.  Venus-Pluto can represent a “transforming passion” in our lives, and it sometimes synonymous with “bringing us our soulmate.” (Pluto denotes past lives.)

“Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?” George Carlin.

COSMIC WEATHER:

The Emotional Moon continues in “Irrepressible” Aries and is no longer “fettered” by the shackles of the “Cardinal T-Cross.” With the “Fiery, Risk-Taking” Aries Moon our spirits long for “rapid movement.” The thrill of “danger and adventure.”  We’re not just talking simply going home and vacuuming tonight, either. Many of us may want to go one step further and put our foot on the gas pedal and “speed toward our destiny” in fast cars. Aries symbolizes “speeding and racing.” Also, as a follow up to this, it rules sports cars.

Too, with the “Hot” Sun now in “Relationship” Libra and the “Love Duo” Venus and Mars, side by side in “Steamy” Scorpio, some of us may even want to do a little “riding around” looking for love, especially since the “Macho” Aries Moon also characteristically loves to later “brag about its conquests.” In particular, there’s one person up ahead of us, driving most erratically, in what appears to be a 1965 Ford Mustang, that looks very interesting to us. Let’s see if we can get them to “slow down,” for a moment, so we can “check them out.”

Have some fun today! Seek out adventure. Travel down some “new roads.” Go beyond your “usual borders.”

The Ford Mustang debuted on April 17, 1964 as a “whole new breed of car.” Mercury (ruling transportation) was stationing retrograde at 11 degrees of Taurus (Taurus rules possessions)  and exactly trining Transformational “Pluto” at 11 degrees of “I Love Detailing Work” Virgo. Pluto “passionately reforms” whatever it touches and aligned with Mercury, the “Transportation Guru,” we had a “whole new type of vehicle” to become “passionate” over.

Also helping out here, Sexy Mars (ruling speed and sports cars) was at home in “Trail-blazing” Aries, the sign that it rules, and Mars was tightly sextile to “Love Goddess” Venus (which also rules the “material things” that we love).  Additionally, Venus was in Mercury-ruled Gemini (governing transportation). “Mars sextile Venus” is the classic “signature aspect” of “falling in love,” and that’s exactly what happened with many of us with the debut of the Mustang: We immediately “fell in love” with it! A “love affair” that, for many of us, continues to this day.

Also at the time of  the debut, “Lucky” Jupiter was in “Possession” Taurus and exactly sextile to “Work Hard Enough and You Can Afford Nice Things!” Saturn in “Imaginative” Pisces. Jupiter-Saturn harmonious to each other is one of the best aspects we can have for “enduring business success,” as it gives a good blend of hard work and application (Saturn) with optimism and vision (Jupiter). Maybe another reason why the popularity of the Ford Mustang has endured over time.

“Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through.  Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it.  This is a kind of death.” Anais Nin

COSMIC WEATHER:

The shining “ever-so-brightly” Harvest Full Moon in “Self-Discovery” Aries. A wonderful time to go inside and reflect upon and nurture our own “self-love,” for it is only after we truly love ourselves, can we be fully open and available to loving others and enjoying the magical Libra “partnership experience” as it was meant to be.

This Full Moon is also tightly squared by “Transformational” Pluto in Capricorn. With Pluto, we’re invited (may be forced) to journey to our “very depths” and explore that inner territory that we often keep ourselves “blindfolded from” stemming from our “fear of the unknown.”

But, it is in these “dark, untapped regions” where this majestic Harvest Moon is now shining its “brightest light” and where we can reap a “bumper crop.” What is blocking us from “self love?” What is holding us back from having “satisfying relationships?” If we but only take the time to go inside, we may find out the answers to these deeper questions now, while also claiming some of our own “buried treasure.”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZ5N4-X_HWU

In the news: With the “Pioneering” Aries Full Moon square “Transformational” Pluto in “Governmental” Capricorn, “government health care reform” begins to take effect today in the U.S. (Pluto rules insurance and reform, while “squares” force issues.) It is also notable that “Expansive” Jupiter is conjunct “Humanistic” Uranus in Compassionate Pisces which can indicate opportunities or “more benefits” for members of the collective (due to the “generous” nature of Jupiter). Pisces also rules the medical profession and health-care providers such as hospitals.  Additionally, Trailblazing Mars is in Scorpio (a sign it co-rules with Pluto) which deals with insurance matters. Wherever Mars transits by sign, it often energizes the activities or affairs denoted by that sign.

Celebrity Birthday: The “Boss” Bruce Springsteen turns 61 today! Talk about “creativity,” Bruce has 5 of his planets in his packed fifth house of self-expression, most are in harmonious sextile to his powerful Mars-Pluto conjunction in “naturally theatrical” Leo, in his money house, giving him “mass appeal” and also a psychological need and desire “for an audience.” (Pluto rules the masses.)

Normally, when the fifth house of a horoscope is heavily aspect, the person “is an artist” in some capacity. Bruce’s “Mental, Communicative” Mercury in “Dreamy” Libra tightly conjuncts his “Imaginative” Neptune, making him a spellbinding storyteller with his lyrics. Also with four planets in “Social, Idealistic” Libra it is natural for him to connect with other people and also poises him towards taking strong stands on “social issues,” like fellow Libran, John Lennon, as Libra is a “cardinal” sign associated with “action.” Bruce also has “Rebel” Uranus in his first house of personality endowing him with originality and genius and also making him revel in “defying convention” and “going against the norm.”

“Fitness – if it came in a bottle, everybody would have a great body.” Cher

Moon’s in “Forget the Mind, Let’s Get Physical” Aries. The Sun and Mercury are in “Health-Conscious” Virgo and preaching to Venus and Mars, still conjoined in “Mating” Libra, about the hazards of engaging in sex before first taking capsules of cod liver oil.

In case you’re also wondering: Venus did get out of bed to go shopping yesterday, but with the arrival of the weekend, and the “I want sex, and I want it now!” Aries Moon, still hovering around, she has decided to position herself back under the bed sheets with Mars, with yet another promise from him, of more opportunities to purchase expensive jewels on his credit card again, in the near future.

“We’ve had a stressful week, and now that the weekend is here, we want to unwind. But the Aries Moon is also casting a decidedly “physical” tone to the day. It’s clamoring to us to engage our muscles and other body parts in an intimate workout. Preferably, too, with another human being, because “Love Diva” Venus and “Sex Pistol” Mars are still in Libra, the sign of “The Other.”

Mercury and the Sun in “Clinical” Virgo are also requesting that we do our best to engage in only “responsible, healthy sex” this weekend, so as not to overtax our systems. In other words, in between the passionate night moves, we’ll need to monitor and document our vital signs, such as our temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure. And, if need be, spray for germs.

Now we know why so many Virgos are still virgins!

If we have to go through all this stuff, each time, is it really worth it? Even with George Clooney?

‘George, we have to stop now. I need to check your pulse. Hold on a minute, let me listen to your heart beat. Stick out your tongue, George, and let me look at it. And beat on it with my wooden stick.’

You know what? This approach may be just what the doctor ordered!

‘George, stick out your tongue again.

Yes, it looks like we may need to operate.”

The Contemplative but Fantasy Prone Pisces Moon is still burning gardenia incense (until 9:59 pm EDT) in a bid to keep the passionate desire going between Venus and Mars in Lover’s Lane Libra.

But things are also a little complicated on the romantic front because every few minutes the Cleanaholic Virgo Sun sticks his big head into the bedroom to remind everyone that there’s oodles of vacuuming to do.

The Virgo Sun’s trine to Deep Transforming Agent Pluto has him also believing that what is really needed here is some deep steam cleaning of all the carpets and upholstery.

The Moon enters Active Aries later in the day (10:49 pm EDT) at which time the pace quickens considerably. In fact, we get so carried away with the excitement of the raw energy that we start to even vacuum underneath the bed sheets, putting a big, golden smile on the Virgo Sun’s face, while simultaneously causing expletives and threats to spew out of our “formerly sleeping” partner’s mouth. And we’re not even in bed with Mel Gibson!

“We have some very cool, life-changing energy around us in the guise of the Sun in Employment Virgo trine to Potent Pluto in Career Capricorn.  Today could be one of those days in which we finally figure out or discover “our true calling” in life. It’s also a good time to apply or interview for a job, also realizing that stuff could get postponed etc, down the road, with the Mercury Retrograde in Virgo.

Also with the Mystical Pisces Moon and Past Life Pluto activated, this is a dynamite time for regression efforts. Or, for holding seances. Especially for channeling deceased politicians and bureaucrats with Pluto’s placement in governmental Capricorn. Perhaps, too, when the Moon enters Conquering Aries, we can try to connect with transitioned pioneers or former military leaders. I’m thinking maybe, General George Patton here? Or perhaps Genghis Khan?

If you also have any type of research to do, or better yet, spying to do, today is definitely the day to do it. Probably also superb for channeling former spies. Maybe “Maxwell Smart?”

In The News: A Sun-Pluto “spy story” for today.  The NYT.com is reporting that the aide to President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan, implicated in a corruption investigation, is actually being paid by our own Central Intelligence Agency.  Mohammed Zia Salehi, the chief of administration for the National Security Council, has apparently been on the CIA payroll for many years, although it is not known what his precise duties are. Pluto rules spies and espionage and when it’s ray is activated is often when we get “the real scoop” on things. It’s ray is activated today.

Ellen DeGeneres’ Horoscope, Her Quitting “American Idol”

American Idol, astrology, astrology August 1 2010, astrology for august 2010, Ellen Degeneres, Ellen Degeneres horoscope, Ellen DeGeneres quits American Idol July 2010, FOX Network, horoscope, Jennifer Lopez on American Idol, Kara DioGuardi gets fired from American Idol, Moon in Aries, music industry, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell, Simon Cowell horoscope, steven Tyler on American Idol panel, Sun conjunct Venus, sun in Aquarius, sun opposite uranus, Venus conjunct Pluto, Venus in Virgo

Talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres,  who was also a judge this past season on “American Idol,” surprisingly resigned from her duties on “Idol” last week, citing, among other things, that it was hard for her to judge people and “sometimes hurt their feelings.” She also said that her work schedule “became more than I bargained for.”

A quick look at Ellen’s natal horoscope (born 1/26/58) shows that she is a freedom-loving Aquarian with a restless, trailblazing Aries Moon, with the Moon governing her emotional nature. She also has her Aquarian Sun, denoting her ego and basic sense of self, in a close conjunction with peacekeeper Venus, the love principle.  This Sun-Venus aspect gives her a real flair and strong need for diplomacy, as well wanting to connect with others in a friendly, yet more impersonal, detached way, characteristic of airy Aquarius.

This same appeasing Sun-Venus aspect, however, is also likely the very thing that made her feel “out of sorts” as a judge on “Idol,” as in that role she had no choice but to deliver honest assessments to candidates, which in some cases, meant possibly hurting contestants’ feelings by having to tell them that they were not as talented enough as they needed to be for the big time.

Now, for someone like Simon Cowell, who I personally love dearly, who has his loving Venus deposited in more critical Virgo, and also exactly conjunct “toxic Pluto,” the planet of death and destruction (also rebirth and regeneration), it’s much more natural and effortless for him to unabashedly “pick apart” candidates and shred them to pieces.

I believe he also feels that when he is doing so, that he is being of “real service,” because I think he feels he is only being honest with contestants and just “telling it like it is,” so they will not continue to delude themselves into thinking they have talent, when in fact they don’t.

Of course, Simon is only human, and not infallible, but most of the time he does seem to be spot on with his assessments.  Venus Pluto is very perceptive, especially when it comes to sizing up musical talent, which is also ruled by Venus. Pluto confers “X-ray” vision into things.

Ellen, meanwhile, while she prefers to “preserve the peace,” simultaneously she is not beyond engaging in some measure of controversy at times. Especially when it comes to seeing others receive “fair and equitable treatment,” as her Sun-Venus aspect is opposed by innovative, change-agent Uranus, the planetary ruler of Aquarius, which governs equality issues, as well as such impulses as originality and taking radical, individualistic stands.  Especially when such stands are needed to empower the disadvantaged or downtrodden. Aquarius is intrinsically humanistic in outlook and generally concerned with issues “outside of self” that pertain to the collective.

Uranus can be “quirky acting,” however, and is also likely the main catalyst that fuels Ellen’s more wacky, creative, electrifying sense of humor.  Uranus is associated with “genius,” and in this astrologer’s eyes, I definitely would rank Ellen as a “comedic genius,” although her math scores may be less than desirable and her aptitude for physics, lacking.

All kidding aside, Ellen probably would have also made a good teacher, as she has an outgoing, upbeat, scholarly Sagittarius Rising, a sign that rules higher education, with both energizer Mars and disciplined Saturn conjoined her Rising sign. One’s Rising sign, or Ascendant, governs one’s outward personality and also shows how others tend to see us.

(Important Note: This Sagittarius rising is also assuming that Ellen was born around 3:30 am which was the time that was listed on Astro.com, but it is a birth time that has not been verified, although it certainly seems to fit her, especially with her just quitting “Idol.”)

Also, with Mars and Saturn on her Rising, she is very determined and very ambitious for herself and definitely not a quitter when it comes to going after what she wants.  She can be “very competitive,” but also in a nice, “Sun-Venus” way.

From the looks of Ellen’s horoscope, too, I think a big part of the original appeal and lure for Ellen about “American Idol,” was the perceived opportunity, on her part, to personally be able to help inspire the contestants, in an idealistic, Sagittarian way, so as to hopefully goad them on to reach their loftiest potentials.

Ruled by expansive Jupiter, Sagittarius Rising perennially wants to “impart knowledge” and “help facilitate growth,” including even giving a tendency towards “evangelizing.” I can even see Ellen standing behind a pulpit on TV someday, can’t you?  Perhaps imparting some non-traditional type of gospel message.

Plus, if you’re on Twitter, you already know how driven Ellen  is in wanting to keep getting more and more “disciples” to follow her on Twitter. Anyway, I believe that Ellen probably feels most fulfilled when she is able to help others “move forward,” in addition to obviously wanting to entertain people as a comedian and talk show host.

Ellen’s Sun-Venus conjunction, too, is highly creative, both artistically and musically, and no doubt it has helped to make her a very gifted performer and artist. Venus, and its higher octave Neptune, rules music, art, as well as general aesthetic sensibilities. She also loves dancing and Sun-Venus can give an ability in that department, too.

According to reports, Ellen actually told Fox and “Idol” producers a couple months ago that the show was “not the right fit for her.” She also supposedly told them then that she was going to hold off doing anything, until they decided on a direction for the panel. Late last week there was also word that Kara DioGuardi has been fired from the show, with the additional rumor widely circulating that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler would be joining Randy Jackson and that the show was returning to a three-judge panel.

Reviewing Ellen’s horoscope with respect to the planetary “transits” (what’s occurring now in her chart), we see that on July 25th is when things really began “heating up” for her most recently, astrologically.  That is when the Full Moon in Aquarius fell smack on her Sun in her money house, an aspect often denoting a “change in status and income,” as well as generating a “full awareness” of one’s life situation and perhaps what to do about it. Full Moons “illuminate” our consciousness.  They also signify endings.

Also on that very same day, assertive, warrior Mars conjoined and moved into her tenth house of career, a major, short-term influence that often correlates with sudden “job changes,” as Mars is the planet of action and moves matters and events forward aggressively and often very swiftly. Mars stays into Ellen’s career house till mid-September, making some harmonious career aspects to both her Sun and Venus this month, especially around August 6th through the 9th and again the 12th through the 15th. It should be good and energizing for new beginnings, new strategies.

Additionally, Ellen has had major, major long-term Saturn and Uranus aspects affecting her Virgo career house strongly for the past year, really ever since she first got involved with “Idol.”  When Ellen first signed on to be a judge on the show, she had Saturn, often billed as “The Taskmaster,” sitting smack on her tenth house career cusp.  It was also separating from more challenging aspects to her natal Mars and Saturn, both in her first house of new beginnings.

Saturn  has basically not strayed far from that position at the top of her chart for the past last year, due to its prolonged retrograde (backward) motion, which finally came to an end at the end of May, when Saturn finally stationed direct, which was ironically the same exact time the last “Idol season” ended.

That would have also been around the time, too, that she alerted the “Idol” producers and Fox to the fact that the show was not the right fit for her. Saturn probably made her internally aware of that fact. Like the Full Moon, Saturn is also symbolically associated with endings.

While Saturn will stay for another two years in the career sector of her horoscope, it’s affect during this time period may not seem as psychologically “onerous” or “heavy” to her, as it probably did to her this past year, when it was steadily within a close range of conjuncting her tenth house cusp, which has the similar affect of a doorbell ringing non-stop, driving you batty.

Planetary energies often have their greatest impact when they are exactly on the house cusps, which is like being positioned on the front porch entrance of a house. Then you also usually feel the planetary energies again later when they meet up with other planets inside the houses, or throw aspects to planets in other houses.

Saturn, which represents duties and achievement, is often associated with an increase in “heavy responsibilities,” especially when aligned with the tenth house. At the same time, Saturn transiting here is also often correlated with important career accomplishments and finally being rewarded and recognized for one’s past efforts, which is why Ellen was likely signaled out and approached for the show in the first place.

Also, I wanted to backtrack again, for a minute, to when Ellen was originally recruited for “Idol.” She not only had the demanding Saturn influence prominent at the top of her horoscope then, she also had unpredictable Uranus simultaneously at the bottom of her chart, in opposition to her career house, and also squaring her Mars and Saturn in her first house of new beginnings (again assuming the 3:30 am birth time here.)

That volatile Uranus influence was sort of the equivalent of being thrown a “career curve ball,” as Uranus can bring in sudden, disruptive changes out of the blue, changes which may seem really exciting and liberating at the time, but later they can make you feel disoriented and pressured when you realize that you maybe reacted too hastily in making new moves.  Then add heavy Saturn to the mix and you’re needing serious liquor to get through the days and nights.

Ellen is not really out of the reach of Uranus yet, either, in terms of its more erratic influence on her career, as this planet will be very prominent in opposition to her career house starting again in September and pretty much continuing all the way through early spring of 2011. Uranus during that period is retrograding back into the sign of Pisces, going back to 26 degrees of Pisces, and Ellen’s career house cusp is 27 Virgo, so it will be exactly opposing it.

During this same span, too, Ellen also has some very harmonious, stabilizing Saturn aspects involving her career the first three weeks of September and then also roughly mid-October.

It could be, too, however, that Uranus will be affecting her through early spring on more of a psychological level, this time, versus on an outer level. She may be internally feeling the need to yet do something different again with her life.  Uranus again governing change. She may even also want to move or make changes in her surroundings, as Uranus is in the area of her chart dealing with home and family issues.

Also, then when Uranus re-enters Aries and begins expansively trining her Sun late April and all May of 2011, magical things could really begin opening up for her, as she begins to embark on even more exciting new chapters in her life, minus the more frictional sorts of energies that have been stalking her as of late. So she should be feeling pretty good and her financial aspects are very positive then.

Too, astrology is only a road map, and essentially only shows archetypal energy patterns.  What we decide to do with them, is strictly up to us. Some people screw up perfectly good aspects, just because they can.  Others thrive when the stars are the dimmest.
