“I wanted to call a time out, to demand that everybody just STOP until I could understand everything.” Elizabeth Gilbert
Being an early degree Aries Rising with a Taurus Sun, I’m used to lots of starts and stops in my life. Mostly self-initiated ones! Last week, for instance, I restarted this decade-old blog after taking a hiatus from it for nearly two years. With transiting Mars crossing my Ascendant (new beginnings), Jupiter transiting my ninth house (writing and publishing), and the January 5th Partial Eclipse falling in my Capricorn tenth house (professional ambitions), I decided all of a sudden, what the heck, I’ll just go ahead and give it another whirl. See what happens!
Anyway, the last few days I’ve been really feeling it! Feeling that universal Aries adrenaline rush that always goes hand in hand with putting something new into motion. Today, however, my aging physical form feels like it’s been put, quite literally, through the proverbial wringer! I clearly realize now, with pushback from the weary flesh, that, yes, even though it’s only been a few days, I’ve already been pressuring myself way too much with trying to get this astrology blog out to you on a daily basis. I’ve been blogging fresh from scratch, kinda like making homemade biscuits, without enough editing. A dangerous ingredient to leave out! And all because of that darn, spontaneous Aries rising again! 🙂
While journaling this morning, what also kept coming up for me is that I needed to do the Taurean Sun thing, once again, and methodically s-l-o-w myself down. That’s one of the things I love most about being a Taurus is the steady supply of self-preservation tips that I’m always seemingly receiving from my wise inner guru. Synchronistically, just now, too, my computer also crashed, just as I was writing all this down. And then, it just as mysteriously came back on with the following two-word message from Dell, written across the computer screen, “Please Wait.” I’m not kidding! Okay, okay, okay Universe! You win! You’ve got my attention! I’m s-l-o-w-i-n-g it down! 🙂
Today’s Moon in grounding, practical Taurus now is an excellent time for all of us to, perhaps, pause a bit and re-assess our situations. Especially if we’re feeling pooped or frazzled. To maybe just chill out a bit, and see if there’s possibly a better path for us to take to reach the elusive Capricorn mountain top! What’s immediately coming to mind here, too, is working smarter, not harder! Can I get an Amen to that? 🙂
Meanwhile, the waxing Taurus Moon’s trine to sustaining Saturn, in old age Capricorn, this afternoon (1:50 pm), is very good for any organizing and long-term planning efforts. The Moon’s sextile to intuitive Neptune also sensitizes us to the feelings of others (4:15 pm). It’s also a good time to go with our hunches. This evening, the Taurus Moon trines Mercury in Capricorn (8:30 pm). This aspect favors tending to paperwork, formal contract signings, and serious discussions. The entire day is generally supportive for business and financial dealings with the Taurus Moon governing possession and money matters. The sign Taurus has an innate need for comfort and security. Would probably be a good time to meet with someone like a financial planner and get all your ducks in a row!

I appreciate you posting again. It felt very ‘right’ when I got your email again. Weirdly, and I guess this is an email thing, I could not quantify the break time you took…just that you had. I think every day posting is aggressive and unnecessary. Why not just when inspired but at least a couple times a month? I always loved your insights and hope you reach whatever goal you have for yourself.
Thank you so much for your comment, Karen. It was just what I needed to hear! Since I’ve just started blogging again, I’m still sort of in the process of figuring out the logistics of everything. It’s fun writing about the daily influences, but with the manner in which I normally write, it’s often very easy for me to wear myself out. Just trying to find, I guess, the proper balance for myself.
