“No one has a problem with the first mile of a journey. Even an infant could do fine for a while. But it isn’t the start that matters. It’s the finish line.” Julien Smith
COSMIC WATCH:
Generally speaking, do you think we’re more wired for starting things, or for finishing things? It seems from my personal observation, at least, that most of us get quite excited about beginning something new, especially when it’s something that we’re really looking forward to. But, once the newness of the endeavor wears off – as it inevitably will – completing what we’ve started can quickly become an almost Herculean-sized task for us, in many instances. However, does it necessarily have to be this way, all the time? Or, maybe even, part of the time? Probably, not. At least I would like to think that this is, indeed, the case, as the other reality or scenario seems far too draining, way too rigid or limiting.
Of course, in the end, it may all very well depend upon our own individual frame of mind about a matter, as well as our initial reason or motivation for undertaking a particular activity in the first place. I also think that it can appreciably help out our cause if we’re able to keep our end goal firmly in mind, for the entire duration of an activity, with that single-minded focus acting as a powerful glue that seals all our efforts together until we reach the finish line.
For instance, I’m trying to lower my cholesterol, so each morning I have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, which has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels in the body (I’ve also had good success with this strategy in the past). There are some mornings, of course, when I’m tempted to “fall off the wagon” and maybe have a sausage biscuit or a bagel with cream cheese, especially when I’m out and about. But, most of the time I’m able to pass these things up simply by keeping my attention on my objective for eating the oatmeal, in the first place: to have a lower cholesterol reading when I have my annual physical checkup, next August.
I’m mentioning all of this to you, today, because the Moon is now “void-of-course” in “pioneering” Aries, a time period when the traditional astrological wisdom would suggest is ideal for staying the course, tying up loose ends, finishing what we’ve started – versus initiating anything new. Then, once the Moon enters “practical” Taurus, later this evening (7:28 pm EST), it will have completed its V-O-C phase, and we then have the green light again to move forward with new endeavors.
It may also be kind of fun to casually observe ourselves, today, as we’re completing our projects, to see what’s coming up for us in the process. See what’s taking place with our energy levels. Are they going up, or down, as we finish things off? I have a sneaking suspicion that our energy levels will likely rise because we’re feeling a sense of accomplishment by bringing matters to a completion. Unfinished tasks, whether we’re aware of it or not, tend to weigh us down, or rob of us our energy, suggesting to me that completing things is really in our best interests, from a survival standpoint, because it’s a way for us to maximize or preserve our physical life force. Maybe that’s also why many of us feel guilty when we don’t finish things – we intuitively know that we’re sabotaging ourselves and putting our life force potentially at risk.
With that said, we probably don’t need to complete every single thing that we start – as that could very well be counterproductive, and highly impractical – as in the case of not wanting to finish something because we no longer have interest in it, or it no longer serves a worthy purpose for us. But things that are key to us, we should really make an effort to complete. Too, this not only helps us to live in integrity with ourselves, it also signals to our subconscious that we’re able to follow through with things, which is an important element if we’re asking the Universe to supply us with more abundance or prosperity, or better health, etc. in our lives. If we show the Powers That Be that we can be effective stewards of our resources, and wise in the allocation of our time and talent, it would seem that we would have a greater likelihood of having positive things flow to us, as there would be less resistance in our energy field to stem the flow of the incoming good.
Getting back to the astrology: We still also have the playful, romantic, highly creative “Venus-Mars” conjunction in effect, in Aries, which was exact, early this morning, so we may definitely want to save some time for pleasurable or fun pursuits, as well, today. This is a great influence for socializing, parties, shopping, fashion, or taking in the arts. Also, a perfect backdrop for the Oscars in Hollywood, tonight. This Venus-Mars influence actually sort of lingers around until mid-March, as these two planet will be staying in fairly close range with each other, until then. We may also want to check to see what house in our personal charts this configuration is occurring in as that will be the area in our lives where conditions may be easing a bit, or where we may be seeing new opportunities for expressing our passion, or for enlisting the cooperation and support of others, as Mars-Venus energy can help us in strengthening our power of attraction for whatever it is that we desire. It can also help us connect more effortlessly with other people.
Question for Today: What do you think would be a real “game-changer” for you to complete or finish?
